Spoon is The Best Hands Down he takes his time! My son didn’t have any cuts and nicks which always irritates me when the person cuts well but hurts my Son! I had my first experience at Fade M Up with Spoon and thoroughly enjoyed my session! He was very easy to communicate with and professional. My cut itself exceeded my expectations, especially since I booked super last minute. He followed all my instructions on how I wanted my cut, as a woman sometimes not all barbers can execute a woman’s cut without it looking too masculine. Spoon did a great job! Due to the current pandemic, I have been on the edge about getting my sons hair cut. I took him to Fade M up (because I cant cut hair) and Derrick got him right. He wears his mask and cleaned everything before my son touched it, not only that he does a great fade.

Ive been on the hunt for a good black barber that could also do a decent womens fade. It was really delighted to find this place online. I called and was able to book an appointment for first thing in the morning on Saturday. I showed up at 8:00 a.m. and worked with Trey. He did a wonderful job. My edges were so crisp.i will be back.

I am happy to see a barber shop with plenty of people working, I walked in and immediately someone was finishing up. I had Tee (Mike) and he did a very good job. He was willing to be patient trying to figure out what worked best until I was happy with it. The haircut is $20 plus $1 for using a card to pay, which is very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone there seems to get along well, making for a good environment. Overall, very happy and will be back again for the next cut.

So I was looking for a place to cut my hair I just moved here not too long ago. Tried a few places out but they were alright and over priced. Today my younger brother tells me let’s go to fade em up so I thought let me read some reviews about this place before we go.Read a few about a guy named Dre and all good reviews. So I called to ask if they had time for two (my brother and I) and they guy in the phone said yeah come on down we’ll hook you up.We head down there and I sit down then by coincidence Dre had just finished with a customer asked me if I’m waiting on anyone specific. I said no I’m just trying get lined up. He gave me a hair cut that I loved was exactly what I wanted. And was relaxed and comfortable and talked to him non stop for an hour. Such a great guy the guys there all friendly and nice. The price was 25$ and I was very happy to pay more than that.They just gained a new customer and I have 4 brothers so know for sure they all gained a new barber !

Most people would consider this a black barebershop but they make it clear everyone is welcome; banter is great, haircut quality is great, no one treats you like an outsider. Definitely has a dive feel with eclectic redskins graffiti on the walls but the barbers there know their craft and its definitely my new go to sop. Everyone who was finishing up had perfects edges and even fades so these guys (and one lady) definitely know their stuff.

Nice place. Clean and good barbers here. I like the humor and fun. It has two TV, usually turned on sports channels. The wait is not bad during peak period but its better to make appointments if you can. Parking is also available each time I have gone there.

My son and l just found our new barbershop and new barber Dre. He hooked him up with a fresh new cut. It may be a little bit more $25-30 for a cut but they cut all types of hair so its well worth it considering the improved atmosphere. I didnt hear any cursing or otherwise. I got my hair cut by the only white barber there, big guy. I asked for simple fade and he couldnt do it. I noticed when I got home, the outline of my hair was scraggly, as if I tried to cut my hair myself. Should have seen it as a red flag when he sprayed my hair with water until it was completely damp and then tried to slowly use the razor on my sides in random patches... but the atmosphere felt friendly, even though i didnt say anything. I came in without an appointment. I dont think I will come again. Someone please recommend me a place if they can.

My recent visit to Fade M Up was second time Ive had service. As with my previous time, my barber (Tee) was timely, and cut hair as I asked.- Also, Tee, as well as others, offer appointments-- and accomodate walk-ins. In addition, shops atmosphere is quite pleasing (clean; no offensive conversations and/or profanity; and professional).

First and foremost, a barber never knows if he/she is cutting another barber. Sometimes barbers are out of town and really just want someone else to cut them up.With that being said, I am not from Northern Virginia. I was in the area for work. So, based on the great reviews I thought Id stop by this place. When I walked in I said good morning, 1 of the 4 people said something back. Although only the two on the left side had someone in the chair. Funny enough, one of the guys who had someone in the chair was the only one to acknowledge my greeting. Got it, no problem. First ClueThe two barbers on the left side had someone in the chair. The two barbers on the right side had nobody in the chair. Second Clue. I told the gentleman with the dread locks I wasnt waiting for anyone. So, I proceeded to go to his chair. I told him I wanted a 1, with a temple taper.If I wasnt in his chair for an hour, I was in his chair for 50 minutes. This was the longest haircut (only) that Ive had in my life. Third Clue. I went in with about a 2 in hair length. I didnt come in with an afro or dreads on a large length of hair. I didnt have a beard or anything on my face touched up. He lined up my front about 5 times, at least. I stopped counting after that. Guess what you are doing every time you go over my line..you are PUSHING ME BACK. If you have to go over my line 5+ times with some clippers, you are messing me up. If you cant get my line straight after about the second attempt, you have a problem. After he kept going over my line, I knew he was pushing me back, and he was.So, he moved the chair around while still cutting and I stopped. and looked in the mirror for about 2 seconds like I seen a ghost. He asked me was everything good and I lied and shook my head up/down yes. Everything wasnt good. If you are cutting hair, and someone stops and looks in the mirror in Ahh, something is wrong. I didnt say anything because, the hair is gone, the hair isnt coming back so its nothing really he couldve done besides use that spray hair stuff that washes off in the shower.Its an unspoken rule within barbershop etiquette. That is, if you walk into a barbershop and two people have customers and two dont, more likely than not the two that dont have customers arent the best barbers in the shop. I didnt use that rule today and I have to pay for it. Even after being in the chair for about an hour, the people that came in after me were for everyone but him...This guy pulled out a business card, to make sure my line was straight. This has happened twice in my life. If you need a card to see if my line is straight either you are crossed-eyed, need glasses, or an overachiever, or a combination of the three.Now, I said that to say when I leave a barbershop (even with my hairline pushed back) I should look like I had a lineup. My hairline looks like I had a lineup 8 days ago. I was just at this barbershop yesterday. I took the pics today, after looking in the mirror 45 times between then and now to make sure my eyes were not fooling me.Now, the guy can cut I just dont think his lineup game is on par. Listen, FOLLOW THE LINE THAT WAS THERE WHEN I CAME IN. He didnt follow that line. If you follow the line that the guy did before you, well be alright. Dont go making new line marks in my head. Follow the previous line. Based on the size/curve of a persons head/forehead, NOT every edge up/line will be the same. Some people will have more of a straight line, some will have a slight curve, etc.The guy to the right of me, had a guy sit down after me that had a cut AND his beard trim, and still finished way before me. I dont have that I just came from the barbershop from being edged up look. So, my review is based on the individual, rather than the barbershop as a whole.The haircut I believe was 23 bucks. I gave him a whole 40 bucks just because he took his time about an hour (pushing me back) and didnt rush the haircut. I respect that, I guess. I could have given myself a sharper (pushed back) line with a pair of scissors.

After two horrible experiences in Manassas where I was allowed to sit in two barbershops and not be addressed by a single barber, I was pleasantly surprise with this barbershop. I was greeted as soon as I came in and was given a business card and was told to schedule an appointment because he wanted to make sure I did not waste my day and he we would be ready for me. Today was the first cut and everything went off well. Very personable with the clients and being retired military, even ended up having barber that served and kept the conversation going and the time flying. New to the area and believe I found my barbershop for however many years I decide to stay in VA.

They did a great job with the cuts when we FINALLY got into a chair. I called ahead to ensure that I wouldn’t be waiting long and asked if they could take me at a certain time, I was told to hold on and he came back and said yes. I got there a few minutes before my appt for my sons and it was slammed packed. I told the guy I called ahead and he acknowledged that I had so I figured we would be seen soon. After sitting there for 30 minutes past the time he said he could take me I was about to leave but received a call from work, so I decided to stay so I could handle the call, 15 minutes later neither of my sons had been seen. I was angry and about to leave when a guy said one of my sons could get in his chair. Again they did a good job with the cuts, but waiting for almost an hour past the time you say you can take me is unacceptable. Also the banter between the barbers was a bit annoying.

Tracy was in a rush told him to fix it said it’s another haircut worst haircut I ever got.. should change the name from fade em up to I can barley cut.

Love this place! I take my 4 & 2 year old sons here and they are great with kids. My little one hated haircuts and wouldnt let anyone cut his hair, I took him here and he loved it from the start, sat in the chair all by himself and sat still the whole time!!!

I came for a cut to get a perm the next day. When I went home to look at it %100, they made the front hair to short to even curl. They jacked it up. If you have straight hair I don’t recommend unless they find a way to give me another one for free and fix it up. Look up ugly bowl cuts and that’s what I look like lmao, not happy with the cut but the people was nice.
