Came in for a beard trim and edge cleanup. I wanted to get the lines set properly, so I can just maintain it at home. I walk into my home and immediately from across the room my family says it’s crooked. The center of the chin wasn’t lined up, and my right side was noticeably higher than my left. We fixed at home ourselves, but for the price i was expecting much better quality.

A tad on the expensive side but totally worth every penny spent. The Barbers are professional and courteous. You can go in with a mask and they will accommodate your need to be safe.

Master barber Mark is very friendly, theres a language barrier there if you don’t speak a little Korean. Mark will communicate with you using hand gestures. I liked my haircut. He did a fantastic job, He did exactly what I asked. I used hand gestures, motions and used my fingers like scissors to show him how I wanted it done. He’s really good at following the instructions and he will stop to ask if it’s alright.

Was drawn in by the rustic appearance and overall cool vibe. Easily the worst haircut I’ve had in years and my hair isn’t a challenge. Guy was uninterested and major language barrier on top. All that for $10 more than the good quick barbers around. Very disappointing

I am from Germany working at VW Audi Americas in Herndon. It has been REALLY hard trying to find a place where I can get a decent medium length European haircuts for men that’s not a hair salon. Well...looks like I found it here at Barber Lounge in Herndon. Mark gives nice European style scissor cuts. Shop has private vibe and clean 🧼 Another bonus is I can pickup Euro Bistro’s Schnitzels right next door 😂

This place was awesome!The inside of the shop has a unique kinda antique look. The people were friendly and they did not rush to get you out of the chair. I used Judy and she was awesome! Their online booking service is awesome and lets you book times that work with you. My haircut looked awesome. I definitely recommend Judy.

Coronavirus Update: Since reopening, they have done the work. Theyve converted to single use plastic on for aprons, utilized face shields, gloves, and masks. Im very cautious and felt completely comfortable since their PPE was so good!This place does a really good job with haircuts. Very meticulous. Mark cares about the details. He even used a little roller on the back of my shirt to catch any hair that may have made it on there. I always leave there feeling fresh!

I have hair that is a bit more difficult to manage. I love going to Mark (the director barber and owner) for his expertise. I always leave feeling fresh and confident.I do also love the decor here- its modern and masculine. Very cool.In terms of price, I leave paying a maximum of $40 for shampoo and cut.

Update: Even better during COVID 😷 times. I just appreciate the fact that this shop uses single use capes and preps and wraps the barber chair like physician’s office. Price reflects the materials they use. I drive my family here from MD for haircuts and they lock the shop just for our family, we just love little details like that. Great hair cut for my son and I this morning. We were getting duck donuts next door and noticed this barber shop has opened..it was under construction in May. I was skeptical at first being a new shop but the experience turned out to be wonderful! The best haircut I have ever gotten. Son happy with his haircut. Beautiful shop too, upscale everything. Very accommodating for disabled/wheelchair. My disabled dad was happy that he got a great haircut and shave for the Fathers Day. Sarah groomed him really well while my dad was sitting on his wheelchair. Other barbers were very helpful in moving barber chairs and opening door for us. We felt comfortable & welcomed while we were here. We will be back. Highly recommend.

Finally found my new barber. The online booking system is great and worked flawlessly. Stopped in for the director haircut with Mark. He is the real deal. Great haircut.Every station has a small TV to watch, if thats your thing. But overall the atmosphere is very calming and relaxing.They change their razor blades after each client. I needed a beard trim, and could use a haircut, so I decided to give these guys a try. Mark did the haircut, and Sarah did the trim and shave. they were both professional and efficient, and Im thoroughly pleased with the cut. The shave, however, was something special. She was quick, but I never felt hurried, and the results were great. I never knew I needed a face massage, but it turns out that yes, I do.I used the online scheduling, and they were ready for me at exactly the appointed time.Its a bit pricey, but I felt the service and results are well worth it.

Was a Sunday and my usual place closes at 5 PM. It was already 6 PM and was looking for a place that was open. Found this one on Google and decided to check it out. Reached at 7:17 PM and their closing time was 8 PM. Their website states that you dont need an appointment and that I could walk-in. However, the Director who was cleaning up the place had decided that the place was closed for new business. Guess they lost a customer for good. If you own this place, I would certainly look into the practice of cleaning up early and turning business away.

I was a walk in with no appointment on a busy Saturday. The staff was more than accommodating and happy to help a first time customer.My barber, Sarah, was polite and very knowledgeable about the style I wanted (fade on sides w/ scissors on top). She finished the haircut quickly and certainly met my expectations. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I really like the web appointment feature. It’s fast and simple. I chose Mark to cut my hair, as I read reviews before making an appointment. The interior is clean and minimalistic. As most, I’m extremely picky about my haircut. I know what I want and tell the stylist which number clipper attachment to use. A stylist not listening to me, and cutting it how they want will make that my last visit. The Barber Longe was a nice change. Mark listened to me, and cut it how I asked. He even asked me how I wanted the neckline shaped. Something I forgot to let him know.

Spectacular! I got the Grooming Bundle gift certificate from my wife for valentines and it was great so I have to write a review here and I dont normally write reviews. Haircut was great with Sarah checking with me on the length couple times, and highlight was the straight razor shaving part of the bundle -- it was very relaxing, didnt feel rushed at all and actually got a good nap. Sarah deserved $20 tip. This will be my regular barber shop from now!

Excellent. The director barber Mark cut my Japanese hair perfectly with both cutting scissors and thinning scissors. It was $23. Its very rare to find a stylist that does Japanese haircuts with Japanese styling tools. One of the owners speaks Japanese, which was cool. Very clean, spotless shop.

Head Shave was real nice! Very unique double pass shaving. I wont go into detail but they got shaving analyzed down to science & it was really really good,. Sanitary: I liked that they stress the importance of sanitary on their website and actually shows you the new blades and shaver right in front of you and barber used at least half a dozen new hot towels for my service instead of using used ones over and over again.

I took my boyfriend here for a facial shave. They presented us with multiple pricing for shaves, we chose $20 standard one. His face is like a baby now, super smooth. I love it! We were worried about getting cut on his face but he got a relaxing, clean shave. Thank you Sarah for such a wonderful professional job. Beautiful shop too. Well be back. 💝

Sarah did a wonderful job of getting my grey hair colored. Great color/shade selection book! (See my uploaded pic) Very clean and professional work. Price of $25 was very good value for what I got in addition, such as color shampooing, treatment, towel dry and then blow dry. Way better than getting $15 grey hair color kit from Target and asking my wife to do it at home.

I can’t speak for everyone that works there but Mark Is who I had and could not make a low fade to save his life, I had him try to redo it because the different size guards were not blended lol he needed up giving me a high “fade” but no fade. What a waste of $28. Now I’ve gotta go get this fixed somewhere else.

Fifth time visit, haircuts various barbers for me and my son. Great, consistent experience so far. I like that every barber here confirms the length of the hair to cut couple times for my approval -- first when Im ordering the style, and one more time just before and after actually cutting the small sample area. One minus: the walk in wait time during rush hours was unbearable during our first visit like two hours but I book online in advance now and there has been no waiting for us.

This is it. Ive been to all the hip barbershops like Fellow Barber, Grooming Lounge, Roosters, Floyds 99, The Standard, etc and this one tops them all. Reasons -- A. I get the cut and shave the way I exactly want. The first visit took a while because I was new and being picky with my order but I noticed they save my style and preferences in their customer style chart, which was a nice touch and subsequent visit took 25-30 minutes. B. At prices less than 1/2 of those shops. Less than HALF!! C. Even fancier than those expensive shops. D. The best online booking system Ive ever seen besides apple genius booking. They block off my seat with my name on it and all cleaned, setup ready to go. No waste of time. It is well worth the drive from DC.

Was staying at the hotel across from this shop and went here for a shave in the morning. Sarah provided an excellent shave using a straight razor. Also, everyone in the shop happily greeted and thanked me when entering and exiting the store which I appreciated as well. Excellent service and final product. Would be a regular customer if I was local here.

Mark always does a fantastic job and works very hard to make sure your cut is how you like it. A bit more expensive than other places, but you definitely get what you pay for!

Only been once and got the Directors Cut. I thought it was slightly pricey, but a damn good hair cut and attention was given. I just got another hair cut at a different place that was much cheaper, but also not that clean. Made me wish I went here again. Next time I wont make that mistake, I am worth the extra couple of dollars.

Director barber Mark gave me a great haircut. Before sitting down on a chair, he did a detailed consultation with me on length of cut, styling of hair, which I appreciated bc it eliminates guess work or surprises later. He first used the trimmer to trim off excess length then finished off with scissor. Marks price is a little bit higher ($23) than other barbers but its well worth it for what you get. Eyebrow and neck cleanup with Eucalyptus hot towel was included complimentary, which was nice. Very professional.

Great shaving experience. Place is open, airy, relaxed and bright. Sarah did a thorough beard styling consultation before beginning of the shaving like deciding on shapes, lines and height I want, so I was able to take a nap and relax. The best. Six Stars.

I didnt actually go into this shop. I sent 12 of our guests from Ohio to here for various trims and beard trims & shaves on our wedding day. First, huge shoutout to Jacob for reserving and opening the shop early for our group without any extra charge. +++ They actually blocked the shop from public just for our group. Second, everyone looked well trimmed and presentable for the wedding photo without looking freshly out of barbershop. +++

I had a great experience for my first time going here! I was really glad about that because I went to actually get the haircut I was looking for. I’m a woman and still kind of new to barbershops and barber terms. I’ve tried 4 previous ones. Thankfully, I never had a really bad haircut. It’s just that when I showed pictures of the style I was looking for and told them the terms I knew to describe it, the barbers either didn’t quite understand, didn’t like in their opinion/agree on the style, or they weren’t experienced enough to do the style I showed them. Either way, I was never really upset after a haircut, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for.This barbershop may cost a little bit more - $20-$28 for buzz cuts or haircuts - instead of $16-$19 other ones I went to (and a student barber just $5 - never will do that again though!) - but, with the buzz cut (even just on the sides) was just $20 and they do a more detailed cut in the same amount of time - cost the same too ($16 & with tip $20 other places)Mark cut my hair and he was professional, friendly, detailed - the place was comfortable, pleasant, & affordable in my opinion - you could tell that he cared about the cut - to do his very best and cut it how you asked or showed in a pictureI’ve read mixed reviews here, but I can only talk about my recent experience - basically I finally got the cut I’ve shown in pics - and he did a superb jobOnline booking is great as well - as others have said - seems like this is the best or one of the best barbershops around the Herndon/Reston areaThanks Mark, I’ll be back and I think I’ve found a barber and barbershop to continue to go to from now on. :)

I have been patronizing Barber Lounge for a couple of years. I dont like waiting for much so the online appointments are perfect.Mark or now Judy cut my hair and Sarah does an amazing 8 step beard trim and facial.It is more expensive than most barbers, however there is no waiting, the decor and atmosphere is modern and comfortable and the service justifys the prices.

The place is nice, the website user friendly, but the haircut was horrible! I told Mark, three times, before he started to trim what I wanted. More to the point, I told him what I didnt want. What doestrogen he do? He proceeds to cut my hair how he saw fit! I wanted a simple tapered fade. I grow my hair out all around and didnt was my sides or back trimmed or faded any higher than a taper. He what he gave me was short of a high and tight! Pissed me off! Unfortunately, he passed so aggressively with the trimmer that I couldnt react fast enough and was forced to let him finish at that point. Simply disappointing and terrible! Not what I was expecting nor what was advertised!

Its a new shop but Ive been going to the owners previous shop on West Ox Road since couple years ago. The new shop is excellent and it is Very Classy inside. The shave & haircut is still the best Ive ever got in the area. I also like the fact that they use new blades and comb for everyone. Just because of that I will be coming to this shop from now because I read reused blades can transmit disease from others,, But....Maybe one suggestion is to improve barber chairs because it was somewhat wobbly... I liked those red chairs in previous shop...

Being recently relocated from SF, I have been in search of a real barbershop that has real barbers, not stylists. On the first visit, I asked whether the barbers are real or not, and the managing guy pointed me to a wall of barber licenses and certifications by the entrance, so theyre the real deal.The place is NOT a cheap place though...so there are items that goes all the way past $60 but theres also $20/$24 haircuts on the menu for the regulars. I would say regular one is equivalent to or better than some of the $40 regular barber cut Ive gotten in SF. Like others have mentioned, the place has exclusive private club/premium airport lounge feel to it so Its great deal for someone like me with an undercut that needs weekly or bi weekly upkeeping with some privacy and quietness after work.

This place is way better value and barbers are technically better than some of the 35 to 55 bucks per haircut Grooming places Ive been to. Cost is low enough to make this place a regular twice a month barber. I was initially intimidated by their super fancy club decor from outside but it isnt expensive and barbers do not rush like factory here. 👍

I am super disappointed. I spent 45 dollars on a hair cut and beard trimming. I felt rushed and the lady was in a hurry and while the hair cut was okay at best the beard trimming was awful. Once I got home I recognized how off the hair length was. It’s annoying because it took me 20 min to get there and 30 min there. I wasted almost an hr and 45 dollars on normal rushed hair cut and an even worst beard trim ever no exaggeration. I tried to call them to complain but hey have no number online. Disappointing.

Mark, gives a awesome haircut. But out of the 4!! times I have been there was only able to actually get 1!!! Haircut .had no appointment and was shunned, Guy at receptionist desk was kinda snobby . Will not return

Pretty good for the price. Not the cheapest, but not expensive either. Online booking has been reliable, no hiccups. Wish they sold beard oil supplies. No parking fees.

Business Class of barbershops -- slotted between cheap ones and expensive ones, its affordable enough to come every 2 - 3 weeks for trims. Customers I saw were office worker-types from RTC area (at least it was at around 5pm weekday, might be different during weekends).++ Quiet, Relaxing. no screaming kids.-- walking-in during weekday afternoon (after work hours) is near impossible; the first try, I had to walk out after being told 2 hour wait because other guys booked in advance. I was ticked off but understandable, I booked online for the next day and I was seated as soon as I walked in. I wouldnt do walk in here, online booking all the way.

I stumbled upon this barber shop while getting donuts next door. I got a great trim and loved the relaxing lounge type atmosphere going on. Definitely recommended. A++

Update May 20, 2018: Ive now received two haircuts from the manager and both times he didnt cut my hair they way I asked; may be due to language barrier, either way two times is enough for me to drop the rating to four and recommend not to have him cut your hair. Additionally, they recently raised their price to $28. I couldnt find a sign/announcement stating the increase and wasnt to thrilled when I was given the bill. Regardless they are still the best barber in the Herndon area. Their online scheduler takes out the wait and the barbers are both great. The clean cut shave at the end is am added bonus. Only downside is they are a little pricy.

Its a pain when you have to research a good barber. My previous one I always went to was ok but she always did the same style and every time I asked for changes she would say thats not my style. I couldnt tell if she didnt want to make the effort or if she was really concerned. Id think the former.Director Mark at baber lounge doesnt talk much but he is very patient and got a lot of styles under his toolbox. Even though the price is 1.5 times higher, its worth it for me to not worry about getting the hair right. I cant tell if his other employees perform at the same level. Its something I wont try.

Noticed grand opening sign while getting donuts and got excellent haircuts for my son and I today. They treated my son very well & I didnt feel rushed through like other shops. Pricing is about the same as other shops, but felt like I got a haircut priced well above what Ive paid. Only negative thing is there wasnt any parking spaces left this morning, had to park by the bank, probably because it was Saturday morning.

Very satisfied. This place took care of me despite having walked in without an appointment half an hour before they closed on a Sunday night when nowhere else was open. I got a very sharp cut here and was 100% satisfied in the haircut itself. The only reason I didn’t go 5 stars is simply that it is a little more expensive than what I’m used to paying at $25 and they are a bit unclear as to what they charge when you walk in. Nonetheless if you are looking for a high-end, satisfying experience, this is the best place I have found so far in the Reston/Herndon surrounding area.

Asked to for a taper and trim on the side and she completely screwed up my hair Im going to have to go to a different barber shop to get it fixed. Most definitely the worst hair cut I’ve ever gotten without question. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would.

Mark gave me a great detailed 2 part haircut. Leave top long, cut sides short. He was more expensive than others but its worth it, still less expensive than what Im used to pay in the city. APPT booking on their website was seamless.

Mark, the director of this shop has been styling my hair regularly and hes been giving me a perfect style every visit consistently. Amazing level of detail down to each strand of hair and still finishes within 30 minutes...Mark is focused in cutting hair so he doesnt talk to me about some random stuff unless he wants to confirm some length, part style, etc but honestly I prefer that way as I just want a haircut the way I want and get out in 30 minutes, versus all chat and notice a horrible haircut after shower. Its an Urban barbershop that can do actual faded undercuts. Director Mark does a very clean job. Now I dont need to go to NYC or downtown DC for a decent haircut. Excellent.

Saw barbers kicking out walk ins at 5pm saying fully booked so YMMV. Nice tunes. Place was constantly kept spotless like others have noted. The best and closest shave Ive ever got. One thing to note is I had to wait about an hour, which was not a big deal but wish they took reservations. Maybe because it was on Sunday.

I used to HATE getting haircuts, but at Barber Lounge Its opposite. I love getting haircuts and shaves here since the atmosphere is VERY relaxing and everyone working here actually listens to your requests and and confirms with you before cutting anything. Shave is so buttery smooth I sleep through the shave and get perfect shaves every time. The people work there are real, actual barbering professionals, not salon cosmetologist who worked at some Haircuttery before. Such a classy place and still $20 haircuts. Awesome value compared to a Mens Grooming shop in Reston Town Center ($45 for a normal barber cuts?!) - Recommended!
