When visiting the Sumner Co. YMCA, we have always encountered a helpful staff, a nice & clean facility with good equipment, as well as concerted efforts to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. Thank you, Sumner Co Y!
It is a great place to work out. Clean locker room Family oriented.
The swim instructors were exceptional. My children look forward to attending the next two glasses. We were also really pleased with the front door staffing, the cleanliness of the overall facility as well as the safety around all the pool areas.
Im grateful for the daycare / play center for kids while Im able to workout. The outdoor pool and outdoor activities are great, my kid feel hes on vacation and enjoys the company of other kids his age. The location has all the machines and classes needed to get a good workout. I think this Y is in a great location, with lots of parking, and I know my family and I are in a safe and welcoming environment.
The Y is always clean and inviting. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I love that the Y has a variety of equipment, and I cant live without the Y pool!
Excellent facility, very clean and organized. Friendly employees and experienced instructors. Lots of classes to choose from and lots of work-out options. Flexible hours of operation.Something for everyone!
Clean, state-of-the-art facilities with the kindest staff and amazing instructors. They offer a wide variety of classes and activities for the entire family. We love our Sumner YMCA!
The Y offers many classes, the facilities are clean and spacious, the staff is very friendly.
The facility is always clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
We are very impressed with the professionalism of the lifeguards and the pleasant and welcoming staff!
Amazing staff and beautiful facility to work out, attend classes, and swim!
Went today with the kids to swim and had my daughters 9 year old friend with us and they would not let us come in and swim bc she didnt have a membership even tho we are aloud 3 guest per year they said she could not come in due to covid but if she was visiting from out of state she could have came in to swim I canceled our memberships right there!
Great place to workout, meet people and play.
I love the healthy, happy community inside the Sumner County YMCA!
Very clean and nice facility to have my family attend. Superb staff!
Perfect for the whole family!
Great condition . friendly employees. good parking with safe conditions,
Great experience
Wonderful staff, clean facility, great classes!
There are many options for whatever fitness level you are - and mine is very low! You have access to personal trainers who can help with rehab, and explain what types of exercise will benefit you the most. All around, a great place to be!
We love this Y. We have been members of several Ys in several different states. This one by far is my favorite! Every time we walk in my little girls are made to feel so special by greeting them by name. They take great care of my kids and they really enjoy it. My husband and I are able to get some alone time and work out while we are at it. Its been a great blessing to have it so close by. My son loves the indoor track and the outdoor pool.
Been member here for years. I LOVE Paige Bryants Dance Blast and my nephew is currently taking swim lessons from private instructor Harrison. Hes a VERY GOOD instructor.
We joined through the Blue365 program from BCBS and we love it. Indoor track, weight room that isnt overly crowded, nice machines. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly ; 10/10 would recommend
Clean, kind staff and people, I love the pool area, classes are fun, workout area is nice. The best gym in Tennessee that I have been to.
This is a smaller YMCA, but still manages to have everything I could want in a gym. Staff is always nice when you walk in and friendly when leaving. Gym is kept very clean and maintained pretty well overall. Good place to workout for a reasonable price.
Awesome facility for any fitness goals! Great pools for laps or recreation, plenty of equipment, I rarely have to wait for a bike or a stretch pad. Friendly staff and helpful trainers. The YPlay staff is awesome! We are potty training and they totally take our little one to the potty at requested intervals. I had a small mixup mixup we switched from Blue 365 to a family plan, and they fixed it right up for me.
Fantastic people and a great atmosphere! The pool is super clean!
Great facilities; staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of equipment. Organization does much good in the community. I dont know what else anyone could ask for.
Always a great place to be!
Not very clean, and prices are higher than most other facilities with similar amenities. The staff is very nice and helpful though. I have been paying more than $80/month for family access for the previous year, and will probably be cancelling my membership and trying somewhere else.
The YMCA is a beautiful facility, very family-oriented. We love the pool and the community feel within.
The ABC program is amazing! Jenadi, Candy and the rest of the team are very knowledgeable and helpful. The facility is very clean, has tons of class options, and is well equipped.
Visiting family for the holiday and got to use this club. Awesome staff (Patty with the magic button). Cardio machines were perfectly maintained. Love that steam room. Be back soon.
The childcare people and areas are great! I have/have had kids in every room and they all love going to the Y. It makes it so much easier for me to go when they love it too.
While traveling from Ohio through Tennessee we happened to spend some time here and I must say, this is one of the best Ys Ive ever seen. Super friendly staff and just about every workout and comfort you might ask for: two pools (one warm at 85°), hot tub, sauna, indoor tracks, weights, machines, steam room, clean locker rooms... AWESOME.
Ive been a Y member for 40 years in different parts of the country. The facility is extremely clean and I love the indoor pool and the variety of equipment. As Sumner County grows, they will need to build additional facilities, maybe a YMCA Express. There are some outstanding instructors but there are many who are not. The check in staff is very nice but cant answer basic questions. They need to be kept better informed of operations. As others have mentioned, this facility caters to seniors and stay at home moms. Programming before and after work is extremely limited. I would imagine that the Y is losing membership of the working age people to other gyms but I dont get the sense that they see this as an issue.Disappointed that classes offered at other Middle TN Ys, such as Body Pump, are not offered at this Y.
Friendly, easy, convenient. Love the different class that you offer as well!
I appreciate all the help I got in getting sign up and the service was great and the Y is kept so clean
The YMCA is beautiful and clean. Every one was very nice to me while I was signing my daughter up for camp. But after the first day she was very unhappy and quiet. She wouldnt really talk about her day. The second day I finally got her to tell me the problem. She said that the camp councilors were rude and threatening. She said she did not feel safe there. She said that the camp councilors said that if they did not do as they were told they would spray their ears with water and give them an ear infection. Ofcourse my 10 year old believed them and was very afraid of this. Not one of my better ideas. Thank goodness I am not a member. She will be taking swim classes but I will stay with her.
Had a terrible experience bringing in a family member for a tour. The two staff persons said she needed to have her photo taken and give her social security number and drivers license JUST to tour the facility. She wouldnt do it and she never toured the facility. Next day I found out that wasnt necessary for just a tour. Also, new light in the sauna is way too bright and most people in the sauna agree and have complained. Light still hasnt been changed. Its like a flood light in there.
A great place to get fit, have fun and make new friends. Always clean and always welcomed at the door with warm friendly employees.
We love the pool area.something for everyone.the eating area has nice tables there is a place for kids to play out of pool.
Everything is SO clean!
Worst Y in Middle TN. Terrible hours - they dont open until 1pm on Sundays - what about people who dont go to church or go to early service or want to workout before church? They close the pool at 6pm during week. Heck most people dont get off work until 5pm and then by the time they drive home there is no way you could get a swim in during the week.Dont even get me started on the instructors for the classes. Most of them show up anywhere from 5-15 minutes late to start class. Huh - if I showed up to my meetings at work like that I would get fired. They are getting paid for that hour, arent they? Not to mention the girls that teach the sculpt classes - they are so busy getting their own workout in that they dont stop to correct people who are using incorrect form or to help people who are new. Are they there to work and get paid or to get their hour of workout time in?This Y tailors everything to nonworking people and families. If you live in the area and have a job you dont want to belong to this Y - it has nothing to offer you!
The YMCA in Hendersonville, Sumner county is a first rate place to work out! The staff is great, the place is very clean, the equipment is well maintained! Its a great place to get fit!
Specifically talking about the before/after care programs at 2 schools - if you continue to fill up all available spaces by March then why do you tell people to wait till July to enroll - WHEN ITS TOO LATE TO FIND ALTERNATIVES.Then when we do enroll and are amazed that no places are available your staffs response is well thats the way it is, we give existing parents first dibs, and for cyblinings - what are the rest of us supposed to do. How about thinking outside the box - if theres a huge demand, add extra groups, more staff - be a christian organization and work the problem not stick your head in the sand. Then theres your staff - no or thats the way it is is not an answer- laughing at a parent who is stuck there with limited options does not help anyone or THE CHILD. This has happened to me twice in the past 2 years at 2 schools - im sure you want to be a great organization and I wish you the best but get it out of your head that you are doing us a favor. First if we all stop using you - youll all be out of a job. Second if you want to claim being christian then act like it - stop giving out false information, be aware that your efforts effect us all and be compassionate - since you want our money and to charge us then help out a little and understand what its like when you are left standing in the rain with no umberella.
Friendly atmosphere with all the exercise equipment I needed and more.
I know the Y serves my need for a healthy body, mind and spirit.
This is a beautiful Y location, but a lot of the classes are geared to those who are at home during the day. The hours are also a bit inconvenient, and it would be great if they were open a little bit earlier and/or stay open later.
Friendly staff, not overcrowded even during busy times. Now that the traffic light has been installed easy location as well!
Im not a YMCA member, but my daughter does go to their summer camp for day camp services when out of school.Jeremy Tackett (the Senior Program Director) has been extremely helpful in getting our daughter setup with the day camp. Couldnt be happier with the experience.
Great facility, very friendly staff, great programs!
All you have to do is ask, and you will be helped. I am particularly impressed with the pool staff.
The Sumner County Y has a friendly and efficient staff, excellent pool, great classes and instructors and hours. So glad I joined!
Love this place. my daughters love the day care ladies. awesome place to get fit
Terrible customer service by Terri. Never told me about discounts or mentioned anythig about prices during registration, by the time she showed me the bill and i asked about them, she tried to put the blame on me for not telling her before, not only once, but she just wouldnt let it go. She needs to get serious training.
Best Y Ive ever been a part of. Great sense of community and extremely clean and professional.
Always clean, workers always pleasant, and the exercise classes, swimming classes, indoor soccer league, and child care were great for my family.
The staff will not let me play at all on mondays and wednesday’s and they have a bunch of toxic adults that act like they own the place
Good equipment in the gym and nice pools. Locker rooms are spacious.
Have a 2 week old and 2 year old. Wanted to tes the place out and nobody could help. But i could try it out for a day for $199. Nobody could answer questions about the facility. Very poor customer service.
Great location. Clean facility. Great equipment! Free WiFi and coffee.
Great employees! Beautiful and clean facility!
Great Place ... but WAAAY too expensive for average people!
I think the YMCA is great in many areas, for many ages but lacks big time when it comes to meeting the needs of older adults who are working during the day and looking for a fun fitness program in the evenings and weekends. I wish all the YMCAS in the area would realize that Zumba Gold doesnt just need to be offered during the day but in the evenings and weekends as well. There are many of us that try to keep up in the evening zumba and exercise classes but find them too intense and geared for the younger population and we end up dropping out. The YMCA needs to come along with the times and realize there are many older adults still working well into their 50s, 60s. 70s and 80s and we want the opportunity to have exercise classes focused toward our needs. Ive asked before, I am asking againplease recognize your silver sneakers programs needs to encompass nights and weekends too....there are MANY OF US....STILL AT WORK. thanks.
The facility is one of the best YMCAs Ive ever been to. The only complaint is thet take away the basketball court for TRX and senior jazzercise. They have large meeting rooms in the back they could use for those activities. Part of the storied history of the YMCA is basketball, including Wilt Chamberlin. Bring it back
Great family atmosphere with awesome classes!
Great staff, nice facility, I just wish it had later hours.
Not a good Y. No money has been spent on upgrades and the hours are terrible. It is painfully common for the only area where kids are allowed to play (the single basketball goal and court) to be taken over by classes of 3-5 people, so then the kids or anyone wanting to play basketball are left with nothing to do. Renovations and a new direction are desperately needed.
Great staff and facility
Its a great environment nice staff a great place
I like this location because it can be slow at any hour. Plenty of equipment, no wait, plenty of parking, pool, its a wonderful gym.
I attended a party here as a member of a group. The pool facilities are sub-par and the staff was one of the most unfriendly, and quite frankly rude that I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with in many years. This is the only YMCA I have ever been to and if this serves as a representation of all other YMCAs I would never return again. The management needs to have a serious talk with their staff about the treatment of customers.
Lap pool water temperature is cold compared to other YMCAs I have visited, such as Margaret Maddox
The facility is clean, and the employees are friendly.
Hottest sauna in southeast
Great place
Thanks
