I highly recommend NOT to sign up to this gym. Customer service is terrible that are not organized. These people are steal your money and stress you out. The trainer Chris is garbage, he doesnt want to train anyone unless he is getting pay more and will not tell you anything or schedule you properly. He runs away like a crowded and not face any concerns. CHRIS never gave me the contract which is illegal in this matter. no one wants to help you and gives you excuses to prevent you from getting your money back. Alex is a liar and doesnt help the customer, he only sweets talks just to delay you from canceling your membership. Please do not sign up, they are not good people.

During the 2-week weather damage shutdown, I went to 3 other LA Fitness/Esporta club locations Elgin, Carol Stream, Glendale Hts. and comparing it to them is easy. This club has more machines double what the other places have. The original equipment is perfect here. I hope mgmt DOES NOT upgrade. The upgrades at the other locations have a lighter pull and feels like cabled air hydraulic - just not the full weight pull the original equipment has. Made me appreciate this club more! Regardless of having not been remodeled or replaced the carpet (which should have because of the mold) the fact that they have larger and sturdier weight machines, more quantity and have specific ones that other places do not have; I will keep coming to the HP location. I want to add what is nice at CarolStream though, is the artificial grass functional training area and the HIIT room. Wish we had that at HP. We have more members over here that def would sign up on a program or simply use those areas. The functional area is what Xport has to compete with this club.

Not part of LA fitness. But good enough fitness centre. They have basketball court, pool spin room along with other bell and whistles of a gym.Price is OK, could become cheaper if you ask me. Also 49$ annual charge for locking rate, is an innovative way of milking money. Ha ha.. I would say just add 49/12 to monthly price and see if that fits your needs.

The GM Alex is absolutely amazing! He helped my sister when she was visiting from out of town. Very professional, nice, and you can tell he truly cares about his members and job. Highly recommend seeing him if you plan on getting a membership!

This is mainly because of personal training. If you decide to join personal training at this club (which I highly recommend not to do it), make sure to read the contract before signing it. It’s a mandatory 12 month contract and you can’t cancel it without paying half of the full length of it. The trainer might not be upfront about it to inform you of the contract and it’s terms. Please do your research!

Pricing is good, can’t beat that. But the sales person Mr. Williams said we could purchase locks at the facility. Went back later today and didn’t bring our locks. Because I was going to just purchase the ones they sold. Not only that, but there was another sales person who asked us if we needed help first and Mr. Williams said I’ll help them. To me that was pretty shady to do. I hope they don’t work on commission because he was in the wrong. If he lied to us about purchasing locks there, makes me wonder what else he lied to us about. Definitely a used car salesman I was thinking about signing up for myself but after the terrible experience, I decided not too.

Gym is big but..... very unorganized... I don’t think it’s been busy enough at 6:30 am for the free weights to be this way.******Update 3/17/21I see what the problem is... People don’t put the weights back in their place. Cmon people!!! You already lifted the weights, how hard is it to put them back. But still management should have someone organize them everyday.

Place is not kept up. Machines are broke all the time. Weights all over the place no one picks up or asks people to put stuff back. At night you have 3 to 4 sales people just sitting at desks on their phones. If you worked for me you would be pick up and straightening up Weights. Came in at 5 am and all the weights are still on the floor.

Gym’s fine, but a lot of thieves there. LOCK UP your stuff at all times.

The staff from the cleaning crew to front desk are top notch.

Bottom parts of walls were torn out and exposing insulation. The pool and whirlpool were drained for maintenance but the sauna worked fine. Also, I had trouble getting my phone to connect with esportas internet so I could use my music app on my cell during workout like before when it was LA fitness

They are doing a great job during these interesting times. I have grown very fond of this location. The morning time is the best time. Get a great workout in. There is plenty of room. The staff from the cleaning crew to front desk are top notch.

This LA Fitness is accommodates everyone, and all my soldiers and coworkers enjoy this gym. The staff are friendly, and our newest to most seasoned soldiers enjoy a great work out here. Javier is a new manager, but he really knows how to help all of us out!! Absolutely amazing. You’ll see a lot of us there, all the time!

Bad customer service . So many people workout here and very few machine to work out. This gym needs limit customers or open for 24 hours

Wi-fi has been down since name has change, the management is very unprofessional, people that sits at the front desk doesnt have information and manager doesnt try to resolve the issue he sits back and talks on the phone, also gym is not clean

I appreciate that Jessi in sales had a no pressure approach and the club is being cleaned every morning as Im walking in. Pool and showers are clean, but could use a swimmers clock and suitsaver for lap swimmers.

Just got a membership, been to a few gyms met with alex, he was very clear, gave me a tour of the place and for the price you’re not going to beat the quality of the machines and free weights. Overall great experience

Great gym. I love the ability to work out anytime. I often see their staff there at night cleaning up and taking care of the place. They also are always improving their equipment. I hate that I had to move away.

The monthly membership price is good and the equipment and facility are also. Theyre staff at the desk is very unprofessional and their system is horrible. Anytime you make a change, there is always an issue. Lastly and most importantly, I canceled my membership and then rejoined and they billed be the annual fee twice within two months and wouldnt refund it. Unreal and pathetic really. I thought I need the $49.00 but it turns out LA Fitness does more.

I started back in January at LA to get into a better shape for the new year. I signed up for the personal training program to further help me towards my goal. I quit LA all together back in September for a VERY good reason. During my 9 months at LA, they had gone through 4 different personal trainers- they couldn’t keep staff to help the clients! I was paying $50 for a half hour session. A trainer would start & quit within or a little over the month. There were multiple times I was paying for the program but getting no help except for the supervisor, David, helping me. I will acknowledge that David was very nice & professional in his own job, but he couldn’t keep staff. I had complained multiple times that I felt I was being cheated for my money. In my opinion, if a gym/program CAN NOT keep MULTIPLE trainers around long enough, then there is a problem. I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes with the staffing, but it was a complete waste of my time, money, & motivation. LA Fitness seems to have problems. This gym is not very good.

The customer service and business practices of LA Fitness are subpar and lack professionalism compared to its competitors.I was charged an annual fee while my membership was frozen without being made aware of it while signing up. Normally, this would not be an issue because I would call customer service and get it straightened out. However, the customer service was 1) Inefficient- I got transferred 4 times before talking to someone who was willing to help 2) Unhelpful. All they would do was repeat what was on my customer service agreement and would try to avoid my questions.Needless to say, I will be cancelling my membership and will not be going back. I normally do not write negative reviews, but their customer service was horrible. If you are looking for a gym that is upfront with their charges and has a good customer service team, LA Fitness is not the gym you are looking for.

I’ve been to many gyms and unfortunate this one is my least favorite. It’s nice and clean but I was really disappointed when I could find a certain equipment ( there are no strech equipment at all and only very few handles) Commercial gym like LA should have everything. Temperature inside to warm.

This review is majorly for the personal trainer in this LA Fitness. Me and My husband took personal training from the Master trainer Joanna Dec. Joanna is knowledgeable and great at training. We learned a lot about weight training from her. She gives full attention to the clients while training them and helps in correcting each small movements. I have seen significant increase in my strength after training with her. I feel much healthier and stronger. I would highly recommend training with her.The one star which I have taken from this review is for the mismanagement of LA fitness staff.

My favorite gym, been LA member gives you flexibility to work out in almost every major city in US. Where ever I go I can find LA fitness. And they are all very well maintained

Overall, I would rte this place good. Its not a private club, but then again the dues are not reflective of private club rates. The staff is responsive from my personal experience. I have not seen any rude behavior and the place is kept fairly clean considering its NOT a private club. They recently invested in a new sauna, which is appreciated.

The gym is not as crowded as it appears from the parking lot. Staff overall is okay. Check in person is as always friendly. Showers need a good shrub down.

This club has machines found at very few places anymore particularly like the nautilus equipment

The facilities are just OK but had an unpleasant experience with a manager there. Called ahead to get my mom a guest pass and the young lady on the phone gave me all the info and said I was set. I am a member but this was my first time working out at that location. When I got there this male manager was condescending and rude. He said that I couldnt just show up with a guest, that this was business. I explained that his staff gave me the direction. No apology, very flippant. We asked for help finding the locker rooms and he just scoffed and pointed in the direction of the locker room, no offer for a tour or anything. I was a member visiting for the first time with my mom, a non member in the area interested in membership. Due to the managers lack of customer service my mom said she never wanted to go back. Feels like this LA fitness location could use some staff training.

I’ve only had a complaint about service once, but that was in the morning, the reception was very rude. Some machines need checkups, and it sucks that not everyone cleans up after themselves, but that’s not LA Fitness’ fault. Their fitness classes are great, and they’re free with membership, so that’s a big plus. They have a sauna which is conveniently located in the changing units. There’s also a pool which is probably one of the few spots in the area that does. For the price, this isn’t bad at all.

Great place to work out and exceptional package deals and Oscar Guerrero was able to help me find the right membership that will be best for me at a reasonable price. Also greeted me within the first ten seconds of walking into the club and had a very positive attitude coming up to me to ask what I needed help with. I recommend going to LA for these reasons with excellent happy faces here(:

Pretty big place. They have a nice amount of strength machines for upper and lower body, plenty of cardio equipment, nice big free weight area. Women seem to enjoy the workout classes. My only gripe is the elliptical machines seem like they’re 20 years old, rusty and kind of gross in some areas. I get that new ones are expensive but would be nice to see one day. This place is popular with the younger crowd who don’t like to wear face masks at all.

The place is dirty and the yoga classes are too big. Zumba is fun though!

Overall - not bad for the price. Ive been a member for over a year. But pleeeeease can we get some upgrades on the equipment?! The assisted pullup machine barely assists! So I go to Bloomingdales location on pull up days. Bunch of them are just old. And a good scrub would be nice too.

I came to this location as a referral from a current member to check out the equipment. Isaiah Allen was a great help and very knowledgeable. He was very friendly and gave a great tour. Im a regular gym goer so he showed me all the equipment I like. Awesome service!!

This gym is just a joke! All managers are very unprofessional and they doesn’t care about anything just your money, their goals are just to lie to u to get as much as possible money from you! The worst experience ever! When I first time went there they told me one price and next day it was all different numbers they offered. They told me that only today only for me only right now they are gonna cancel first fee and cancellation fees, all I have to do is just a monthly payments . After I signed they told that it’s impossible to get a copy of contracts bc of gym policy. Now I’m moving and want to cancel my membership, but the manager told me that he is not able to do that, that I have to send a prove of my moving and I have to pay additional 150$. For what? I signed a contract with no cancellation fees. But of course nobody wanted to show me my contract anymore. They told that they fired the person who helped me to get my membership so maybe he was the one who lied me about it. What? What kind of person blame someone else and do his business this way? This is so unprofessional and ridiculous. On a top of bad service, dirty rooms and showers and fitness classes which they used to cancel anytime without even notice in a change of schedule now I have to deal with all of this. Stay away from this gym and I’m gonna fight for justice

Clean, safe & fun. I’ve enjoyed my membership for years now. Some of the group classes are the best and a great variety of machines to diversify my workout. Nice, helpful staff too..

We did the 5 day free trial pass and boy am I glad we didn’t sign up for this gym permanently. First off, I walked in and the guy who issues the guest pass didn’t greet me. After I showed him my license, he didn’t offer a tour so I knew where nothing was. The equipment, locker rooms, and floors are disgustingly dirty. It looks like this gym has never been cleaned. They don’t emphasize cleaning the machines, so many people don’t.Pros: private room for women to workout, protein bar, workout classes. I ordered a protein shake and the man was very polite and the shake was delicious and reasonably priced!

Not sure why all the negative reviews on this place. Ive been a member at LA Fitness for years and Ive seen some nice ones and Ive seen some crappy ones. It was a very clean facility and the locker rooms were a lot nicer than some then Ive been in, i mean they are locker rooms but some of the nicer ones Ive seen. Lots of equipment to use and even a nice layout. Im guessing the negative reviews are from other clubs trying to get people to sign up with them instead.

Cant believe so many bad reviews. Me and my wife are using this facility for last 2 yrs. This facility is huge and still gets overcrowded mostly. We never use lockers, bathrooms etc. so maybe we never had complain. I would definitely suggest to avoid there personal trainers. Everyone just laugh when we see those Jokers training someone. They had a lady trainer who puts heels while training. Believe me !!Bad smell in lockers room used to be an issue because some people use this facility only for lockers and bath and leave there bad shoes and socks there. I have never seen those people actually workout in gym ever. But recently that has been taken care and I think they clear lockers every week nowI would recommend this place if your intention is to workout, swim, play sports. But if you need a luxury changing facilities than probably you are asking too much for the small price they charge.

People at the front are extremely rude. I came with a 3 day free pass and because I did not want to sign up before I even tried the gym the sales guy told me it was a waste to use on me. Not to mention the gym is dirty . Looks like the equipment hasnt been wiped down in weeks. Pay the money for lifetime or even orange theory.

Great gym with a tremendous amount of space and equipment. Isaiah (and the rest of the staff) were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The other gym members were friendly as well and everyone put their weights away!

I only got a day pass and it had most of the lifting equipment I needed, but no deadlift platforms. You also have bring your own towels because they dont provide any. You also have to bring a lock for their lockers.

The new management is great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The gym is very clean and well organized. Bottom line - great place for working out!

Mike was excellent and very accommodating. Knows how to deal with people and their complaints. A very nice person. Manager rude. No hidden fees??.. my bum. Theres a fee for everything, I later found out. I dont recommend this location.

This gym is always dirty especially Saturdays and Sundays when they literally have no one cleaning at all. It is also very hard to find paper towels or toilet paper on the weekends. You can always see a bunch of employees up by the front desk who dont even acknowledge guests when they walk in and out. Very unprofessional management team and staff. At least have one of these employees restock the paper towels. Toilets are always dirty and trash can overflowing.I could give 0 stars I would. What is more frustrating is that they always have a bunch of helpless employees doing nothing behind the front counter always on their cell phone instead having them clean and emptying trash cans.

Went shopping for a gym and comparing the local chains. The facility is nice, well kept, great weights, and cardio area...but the sales team is like dealing with used car sales. Would have signed up if not for the sales team.

Very disappointed....I was in the shower when I heard a ladies voice coming from inside the men’s bathroom telling me the gym is closed. Obviously embarrassed I ran to my locker and dripping water I put my clothes on and ran out. First time ever I was dropped of at the gym so I had to wait for my ride. To my surprise the lady that yelled at me to leave was working out with another gentleman for a half hour after telling me to hurry they are closed. Nobody ever told me about the gym closing at 10 I was under the impression that it closed at 11pm. I was already on the fence because I come from a club that stayed open 24/7. SMH😒

I came in with the guest pass, but it was expired. He was really nice and let me in. The gym facility is good and liked the gym. I will consider switching to this facility in future.

Someone told her that her friend could not come in because of location of that friend.WHAT!!!???

I travel for work and have been to MANY fitness clubs and this location is great! Dont understand the negative reviews. Friendly staff, clean, good layout, plenty of equipment and a variety of classes. The locker rooms are even pretty decent.

The managers up front are very rude and yell at people you cant even ask a question without getting attitude... Lockers room smell and are very very dirty... No one cleans the bathrooms, locker rooms, let alone the equipment.... NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT N SOMEONE WHO WILL ACTUALLY CLEAN THE PLACE TO MAKE IT LOOK PRESENTABLE INSTEAD OF DISEASE RIDDEN DIRTINESS... Yet walked in and Matthew greeted me as I was family with extended courtesies showed me my new work out home for daily work outs, classes etc.it’s clean - great locker rooms and swimming pool ...I look forward to my new location and my new friends - especially Davell .. If youre expecting the red carpet to be rolled out for you, youre not doing it right. This place I has a bunch of equipment thats usually in pretty good shape, and the bathrooms are usually mostly clean. Its a gym, what else do you want?

Went in with my buddy as a guest, met with davelle Matthew in customer service who was really helpful and generous with introducing and explaining the place to me. Was real nice and convincing of having me come back or join for a membership.

Its a scam. Bunch of young teens on commission giving you false information and having you sign electronically. By the time you realise the truth its too late. Its a perfect scam regime. I urge not to sign anything unless its a hard copy and you have read and understood it completely. I end up paying over $2,000.00 so please be very careful. Poor service, frequent changing in staff so its your sign against your words......

Working out here is like stepping into a porta potty. It’s never clean they spit in the fountain, I told one of the staffs and nothing was done. And for any managers that work here, please don’t ask me to change my review. I’m speaking the truth. It’s so hot in there, I could never enjoy my workout, it’s smells so awful at times. I hope they consider and fix it up, to be able to keep their members. Long time members at that.

Club is good but the staff of this location is not great. They just give you the sales pitchat the time of enrolling but no service afterwards.

We have been members with my wife for more than a year. We like that place. Every night we go is clean. There are aways available lockers. Dont have to wait never for equipment.

If youre shorter than 59, youre going to have a bad time. 3/4 of their squat racks and 1/3 of their benches (since they dont go down flat) are designed for people who are 59and taller. ALL the equipment is old and a lot of them are literally falling apart. Im not even going to mention how unsanitary it is. The worst part is Ive been to 5 other LA Fitness in the Chicagoland area (Lake Zurich, Arlington Heights, Melrose Park, Glendale Heights, & Mount Prospect) and the one in Hanover Park is WAAAY worse and disgusting. Youd think they would have a standard for all their gyms.

I dont get all the negative reviews of this place. It makes me think that someones just trying to lower their rating and give them a bad reputation. Ive been going to this fitness center for 5 years now, working out about 3 times/week. It is not a luxury fitness center, nor is it one of those intimidating body builder places. Its a practical workout place with more amenities than many such places. (Pool, whirlpool, sauna, childcare, basketball court, several racquetball courts.) I personally prefer a running track to treadmills, so I do miss that here.There is no blast of heat. In five years, Ive only found the workout room uncomfortably warm maybe three times. I have found the locker room to occasionally be warmer more often than that (usually in winter). The locker rooms are clean, and Ive never smelled mustiness. They are, however, locker rooms. Smells happen sometimes when people sweat. Ive never found it bad and seldom even noticeable. I have never used the trainers here, so cant speak to how good they are. I have noticed over the years that new trainers rotate in and out of the facility pretty regularly, whatever that may imply. I have found the executive staff to be a little shady-feeling sometimes (read, not always), but Ive found thats normal with fitness center staff. The front desk staff have always been friendly and helpful.I initially chose this fitness center because it was close to where I live, but Ive never regretted my choice. Dont be afraid to go there or put off by the weird negative reviews. Its a good fitness center.

Carpeting in the locker room? Really? It always smells musty in there. The rest of the club is pretty bare bones, but thats entirely what I want in a health club.The other locations that I use (Morton Grove, Glendale Heights and Melrose Park) are also pretty bare bones, but at least they have tiled locker rooms.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. Patrons are well-mannered and considered. They could use a small shop for when people need gear or locks...

I wanted to try out a guest pass but the recruiter wanted to add a little commentary when I was without an ID, asking how I live my life and embarrassing me. He excused me though, which was cool. The floor on the tiny basketball court is slippery, no traction whatsoever. Not a good time and I got out of there as soon as I was done playing basketball. Never again.
