Took my sons, ages 17 and 7. Both had an amazing time and cant wait to go back!! We stayed for 2 hours, until they closed. Staff were kind, pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this place for indoor rock climbing. Not too packed. Masks are required. They have restrooms and drinks you can buy. Price is extremely fair!
First time here and what a great place! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff! They gave a quick and concise tour of the place and of how to belay. The different bouldering areas were very fun and easy to follow. I also loved the fact that they had auto belay areas for the solo people that come here. When I get a chance I will definitely be coming here again
Friendly staff. Clean facility. Lot of fun!
Love summit!! Just wish they would update the bouldering for grapevine-or any part of grapevine. Top roping is great, but space is small-yoga room is always full and there is no other designated area to stretch in. And the weights area is very small. Still-love the gyms, and grapevine is still better than places like dyno-rock. Staff is always very nice. Great place!
Great climbing gym. Tons of routes at various skill levels. Lots of variety in climbing walls.
Cancelled my membership due to never-ending mask policy despite CDC guidelines. Impossible to have a fun time climbing while wearing a breath-sweat rag on the face for 1.5 years now. If they truly cared about spreading, they would simply not be open.
I would have rated 5 stars because great gym.Ended up rating 3 stars because the only way to cancel the membership requires you to physically go to the gym. Terrible customer experience for someone who has to cancel due to injury.Ended up just blocking the merchant with my credit card company.
Great climbing gym. Affordable day passes and membership, especially if you are a student there is a discount on membership. For $54 a month (student) I can climb unlimited at ALL locations, free classes, free competitions/special events, discount on gear and one of the best perks is a free guest pass each month. Allows me to bring a friend to try out climbing. This location is on the smaller side especially compared to Plano, but for being local to Grapevine it definitely gets the job done. Staff is friendly and helpful and the community there is awesome. Great way to get some exercise, have fun and meet people!
Bouldering area is pretty small, but the top rope and lead is quite nice. Theres a ladder to climb on top rope which the other gyms dont have. There used to be a speed wall there as well but its been converted into a spray wall. The route setting is great, better than the Plano gym in some cases because of the overhung roof sections that dont exist at the Plano location.
Awesome climbing gym. Staff was super friendly and a fun environment. Took my 10 year old for the first time and she had a blast.
Great experience! Staff was amazing and the space was so clean. Thank you for enforcing the masks. Made us feel safer getting out and about. Can’t wait to come back!!
5 star review from someone who likes this gym. Also hopefully this offsets the people who are whining about mask mandates. Keep enforcing it to the best of your abilities, thank you staff.
If you enjoy being hassled and controlled on how to wear your mask correctly then this is the place for you. Never had such disrespectful interactions and in Texas of all places. Kids in masks while exercising is absurd. All of this is ridiculous. A kind recommendation is one thing. Commands and following someone to make sure they obeyed your commands is a whole other level. We’ll never support a business like this again. From a medical perspective, surgical and cloth masks are laughable at best in light cold and flu and corona season whether they are over your nose or not.
Shout out to Sam Stephens and Grant Goldberg. ❤️
Friendly and helpful staff and patrons who went above and beyond helping me locate a lost item. Great mix of auto/manual belay top rope routes and a smaller bouldering section that was never over crowded.
1st experience for my grandson, loved it! Good orientation for our safety, thank you!
Love summit but this location is very very disappointing.Customer service at other locations (Dallas and Plano) are exceptional. But here in general the front desk just rude and aggressive. I went twice to the Grapevine location, both this Matt or Matthew guy at font. He doesnt seem to want to be there, and his tone does not change at all, talking like a robot. Also act like he doesnt know what he is doing. This is such a huge difference from all the experience I had before.Could be this location. Still, all other locations are great. If I live in this area and Grapevine is my only choice, I probably would have cancelled my membership.
This is the best indoor rock climbing place I’ve been to! Lots of belayers, which is AWESOME for when it’s just you or you and your small kiddo(s). Most indoor rock climbing places don’t have this many belays, they usually only have a couple. Lots of various walls & levels of difficulty. We always have a blast here!
Staff is not very friendly. All of them seem to hate their job and aren’t really interested in being very helpful. Also this mask policy for children under 10 is ridiculous. My 3 year old is not required by any state mandate to wear a mask yet they think it is safe to have a 3 year old wear a mask while climbing. Yet they spend a lot of time asking me to get his mask back on when he throws it off. The mask impedes his ability to see and creates safety concerns. Looks like I may be canceling my membership due to these dangerous policies for my 3 year old and my other two kids who climb there regularly.
Staff is EXTREMELY rude about mask. They will talk to you as if you are child
One of the best climbing facilities I have ever been to!I have gone a few times as a guest and cant say enough about the atmosphere and friendly staff. Everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and give feedback on how to enhance your climbing ability. Definitely a must go when in the area!
Great variety, even for solo climbers of varying skill levels.
Great climbing facility, really friendly and gentle way to get into the sport, while also providing more challenging routes. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, they make it feel like a family. Also really nice that they mix in other activities like the dedicated bouldering area, yoga, etc, and even offer the classes to get up to speed on lead climbing. I would definitely encourage people to check this place out.
Very fun. Great staff and equipment.
Unfortunately I had a bad experience at this Summit location tonight. I usually climb their other locations but decided to give this a try. There was a major lack of communication and professionalism from the 3 men working the front desk tonight. It got to the point where their miscommunication put me in a very awkward situation and I couldnt get out of their fast enough because they made me feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable. I will stay away from this location from here on out. Its especially frustrating when I drove 40 minutes to try out this location.
I’m so impressed with this place. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They have several walls with different difficulties and different courses, some are auto belay, others require a partner. They also have bouldering and a yoga studio. When my membership auto-renewed after I cancelled, they were very quick to refund my card. Overall, the facilities are wonderful and the people are amazing!
Summit Grapevine is the most conveniently located gym (for me) of the DFW summit gyms. Each of the summit gyms has strengths and weaknesses. This one is has great top rope climbing, but poor bouldering. Also sometimes there’s too many kids running around. I rated this gym 4 stars in comparison to the Summit Plano gym. Plano is the best one. When I come to Grapevine, it’s for the convenience.Summit as a whole is a good gym. I have been a member for nearly a year and I haven’t had any problems with them. Membership is pretty expensive but if you climb often enough it’s worth it.
I recently came for a Saturday morning rock climbing 101 course with my wife. This was our first time rock climbing. At the front desk - they were extremely nice and friendly. Gave us a discount we were not expecting and were very helpful in general. The class - led by Ed - was fantastic. He was thorough and had me push myself harder than I usually do when working out (despite me being terrible at this). He had a great attitude and really knew his stuff.Overall I would say this place is great and I highly recommend. Fair warning - if you are out of shape like me it is quite hard! The next day my whole upper body was pretty much destroyed from soreness. It is hard to tell how much exercise you are doing because it is fun.
Ditch the temperature taking charade. Its ridiculous. And now kids have to keep wearing masks? What a joke.
Im absolutely tired of this absurd mask policy. Been back six times since they reopened and people dont even wear them right half the time anyways. That said, I missed this place more than anything while the lock down was happening, so Im grateful for it being open.
Clean, friendly, and well rounded climbing gym. Bouldering section isnt the largest, but also not the focus of this gym. Ratings seem a little soft to other gyms Ive climbed at. Boulder grades are in a range vs a V rating.
The Grapevine staff is attentive to their climbers and they show tremendous care in their commitment to safety and accessibility for all climbers. They keep a very neat facility and they are diligent in attending to their walls and their customers. Shoutout to Garth and the whole Summit team!
Love the experience, the staff is very nice. I feel the policy of making you come in to cancel and keep rolling over the membership is very difficult to live up to in a busy life and when you live farther away. I feel the inability to cancel over the phone or work around this --is a policy that is not customer friendly or completely fair from a monetary perspective. They are clear about it up front so I guess the customer is left to deal with expenses.
Every time Im here I highly recommend this place
Beware if you want to cancel your membership.I moved away at the end of 2019 and called summit to cancel my membership. When I said I couldnt make a special trip back to Dallas just to cancel in person, I was assured that they would immediately suspend my membership and I could fill out the cancelation paperwork via email. After a mixup Ive found that, without notice, they restored my membership to active status and have been charging me for months. I emailed them when I discovered this and requested a refund for the months that I thought my account had been terminated, but I was only told I could get a refund for the month of April since the gym was closed that month and they dont have record of receiving my cancelation when I thought I sent it in. I wish I would have been notified when my account status changed, and I wish they would have been more understanding after the fact. Money is tight nowadays, and this experience has soured my opinion about summit as an establishment.
It was our first time here tonight and we signed up for memberships immediately after. the service was incredible and the climbs were great. but really what sold us were how kind and helpful the humans were. can’t wait to go again!
Excellent staff, great facility. Very supportive of veterans!
One of my first climbing gyms here in North Texas! I got my rope gear package here and they were super helpful and caring about sizing your equipment.
I absolutely love this place. I came for my first visit back in January with some family and kept coming back to climb as a guest so much I got a membership. (Which I highly recommend) (about 60$) staff is very kind and helpful. Other climbers are also exceptionally chill and helpful if you have questions. I love recommendingthis place to friends and family. If you’re hesistant to come here don’t be. It’s great. 👉🏻😎👉🏻
I joined Summit Grapevine in May to prepare for my first-ever rock climbing trip. The staff were so helpful in every way - very patient, kind and supportive. They are very friendly, too - when you walk in they greet you and are always available for you during your time at the gym. Im now taking private lessons with Nico - who is amazing!! I would highly recommend Summit for anyone interested in starting to climb or for someone who has been climbing for years - the routes are challenging and fun and are changed often enough to keep things fresh. Summit is fabulous!!
Great place and staff
Seriously considering cancelling my membership. We’ve been hoping for new routes for the last 10 weeks or so without any luck. Same old, boring routes have been up for over 2 months. They keep reassuring us they will set new routes on “Tuesday” but then never do. It’s really disappointing since the membership is so expensive. ($54 per person per month). That being said, we’re giving it 7 more days to see new routes before we cancel. Additionally, half of the gym is dedicated strictly to lead climbing, while the other half is for top rope and/or lead climbing. However, it seems none of the people lead climbing ever use their designated area, and hog all the top rope space. I believe they set it up this way to squeeze a little more money out of customers by forcing them to become lead certified. I think it would be a huge improvement to make the entire gym both lead climbing AND top rope appropriate, or keep them both completely separate. To the owner and manager of this this location... PLEASE CHANGE THE ROUTES. You’re losing customers over this. It’s a shame.
Super fun and very friendly staff!
The Kids Club has been great. My son has gained a lot of confidence and is having a great time in the lessons. I do wish that they were a little more organized with lesson plans and assessments. The gym is clean and staff are friendly. Other patrons are always very friendly and tolerant of the younger climbers.
This place set me down my rock climbing journey. Really great staff, and a great place to learn more about the activity.
I used to love climbing. I used to go every Wednesday because, on Tuesdays they would change a majority of the walls. They no longer change the walls every Tuesday. Dont get me wrong. This gym at one point in time was GREAT.I ended up cancelling my membership - which you have to do in person so they can attempt to try to wheedle even MORE money out of you. I approached an issue with the store manager who I believe was named Daniel and he was unable to help me. In the end he gave me his Regional managers email.I have since then emailed Trevor and have not received any response. Its been a week and no word. In the year and a half this gym has gone from being my sanctuary to being a stressful situation. The customer service has changed so much and, the people they hire now are completely incompetent and unhelpful. Ive gone up to multiple employees and asked for suggestions on getting up a wall and pretty much get blown off by everyone except for Anthony who will actually HELP you. (If youre going to ask for anything you need to ask for Anthony or you get nowhere.) Otherwise they pretty much just defer to, you have to go into this class to learn this thing.I have 2-3 friends that are moving to the area that wouldve probably got a membership here and after this experience of mine theyve decided not to.
It’s a garbage bouldering/training gym, the highest grade they set is v6 at best and they have no moonboard so it’s pretty much impossible to train. Stay away if you are looking to climb hard. The COVID rules are reasonable at all of the summit gyms, masks at all times and get a temp check before you go in.
Had an awesome time at Summit Grapevine!! Yoga workout and then climbing with Steph!! Huge thank you to our awesome instructor Edward!! Now home to soak!!
This place is REALLY cool. I love all the Summit gyms. The competitions are outrageously fun, and the gym is always full of fun and friendly people. The yoga is spot on. And the price is easily worth the quality of experience you get.
Summit Climbing Gym is a great climbing gym. I have climbed here for years and rarely had any complaints. There are well marked routes for all levels and they are changed out regularly to keep regulars excited. The arch is the middle makes for fun and challenging routes. For the advanced climbers they have plenty of sport routes and bolts for those who are ready for that. The atmosphere is also very family friendly and the gym is safe for climbers of all types. I would highly recommend this gym for beginners to advanced as well as groups who are looking for a fun adventure.
This gym currently has 8 auto belays, and a variety of top rope, lead climbing, and a small bouldering area. Staff is super helpful. Members get a keychain barcode that works with all Summit gyms. Gear rental is free for the first month. Cant recommend it enough.
Great Experience! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re having any kind of lower back pain I would highly suggest yoga. The instructors are great!
My granddaughters and I had a wonderful time Saturday. The Summit Staff were amazing. Thank you for such a great time. We will be back.
Cheap, fun way to exercise. Its very easy to go climbing for a day, the day pass and rental equipment totals 12 dollars. They teach you how to belay as well, so you are basically given complete freedom. Overall a very well run place
I climb at this Summit location specifically, and love it! The community is very good here, and unlike the other Summit gyms there are good lead climbing areas. A great place to workout and do yoga!
Love! Had a great experience and will defs be back! They run a ton of great promos on top of a decent price. Example: Thursdays after 6pm is ladies night for $10 (rental gear, climbing, yoga, etc.). Check the website for more details and offers. Such nice staff and great crowd. Its busy but everyone is very courteous and of all skill levels so you wont feel intimidated. Did I mention its a killer workout?! :)
This place is unforgiving and makes all my muscles hate me. But just like Taco Bell, even tho it hurts right after I still come back the next day for some more!! Great friendly, and knowledgeable staff and prime location with pretty cool and challenging routes for both top rope and bouldering!
Great place to do some indoor climbing. Youre able to top rope, lead, and Boulder here. It gets packed some evenings but its big enough to handle the crowds.
My friends and I go to one of the summit gyms just about everyday. Each of the 3 gyms has something slightly different to offer but the Grapevine location is my favorite. Really good routes, service is decent, its not far from our house, and with the membership you can access all 3 gyms. The bouldering section is rather small but if you drive to the Dallas or Carrollton gyms they have plenty of space. All in all its a great experience and is a great way to get in shape and have fun doing it!
Outstanding gym. Love outside pools
I’m new to rock climbing and have gone to a bunch of the gyms in the DFW area. Summit locations definitely offer more than Dyno Rock. This particular location is a great mix of rope climbing and bouldering. The staff is nice and the facilities are well kept. There are a lot of options for beginner climbers and advanced. The bouldering section is smaller than the Fort Worth location but it has rope climbing which FTW does not. Thanks summit!
Good staff, tall walls, technically varied cllimbs and a good but small bouldering section. The only real caveat is, if youre coming in on the weekends in the afternoon, the place is overrun with kids. Nothing against the kids, but it limits the available climbs especially if you dont have a climbing partner and are reliant on the auto-belays. If youre looking to have a quiet time climbing your heart out come in after 3pm.That being said there are a lot of walls that arent set up for an auto-belay and with a partner you can tackle those instead.CLIMB ON!!
I basically love to climb at Summit but they have a very disappointing policy of not letting people know when they are doing extensive resetting of climbs such that there is nothing to do but boulder. I usually climb on Monday’s 11am to 2pm for the Matinee which is just $5 (fabulous deal Sept. to May). I arranged to climb with a friend from out of town Monday May 13th. She got a babysitter for her child and drove down to Grapevine to join me. However, they were resetting the whole gym except for the lead climb area! There was no alert posted on their website or apology of any kind from the employee working to all the people that arrived to find that they wouldn’t be able to climb until 3pm! At least ten people came and left in the short time while I was waiting for my friend. We left very disappointed!
This place is like my home away from home, the staff are so nice and helpful, they are very knowledgeable about rock climbing and how to be safe when climbing. :)
Great informative staff. Consistently changing climbing routes. Abs class gets you wanting it every time. This gym is definitely not boring and is perfect whether you are young, old, new to climbing, or advanced.
The culture here is what makes this place. The chill and knowledge staff. The fellow climbers are friendly and good people. The bouldering section has recently been updated to have a solid crash pad floor. The routes dont change too frequently and I feel like the routes fluctuate greatly in difficulty.
Good place, good staff. Always clean and a decently sized. Recomend to all looking for a solid place to climb all day.
Fun cool casual place - friendly staff lots of wall climbing options. A bit pricey though. Need to look for coupons.
Great place for top rope climbing and bouldering! The staff is helpful and friendly. I highly recommend visiting!
From the perspective of a climber who spends 3-4x a week at the gym, this place is a must for training (especially bouldering). The Fort Worth area is lacking in the climbing department, and Summit delivers a quality space to train and find a few problems to keep you coming back. It can be busy at times, especially in the top roping area- the only real annoyance is when there are many children with no climbing etiquette.
I have climbed at Summit for over a year now. I love how welcoming the staff is. It is also great to have abs class as an additional part of my strength training.
Great gym and location, glad I got a membership.
Grapevine is awesome
Great atmosphere and helpful people. Great for all skill levels
I travel around the country and tend to try and find solid gyms to train and get strong. The staff, locals, and routes on the wall are excellent!
Awesome staff with a great climbing facility. Plenty of walls to climb! Awesome for kids and adults.
Love the climbing but its always sooo busy. I know its a good problem to have. Theyve very successful its just the waiting for a lane that stinks. Helpful staff just long waits.
Awesome!
Bad customer service. Horrible with accommodating anything except if it makes them money. Oh - and do not bother calling if youre looking to rent the facility, you will be confronted with someone unwilling to even listen to questions and an aggressive NO.
My daughter and her friends love climbing Summit. The people there are always helpful and she always has a great time!
Pretty awesome place. Lots of climbing walls. Friendly, helpful staff.
Friendly staff. Challenging and creative routes. The music isnt always family appropriate.
I went into the Summit climbing gym in grapevine, tx last week and booked a party. I was not told about much of anything. I was told there would be a $100 deposit, and the balance paid upon check out the day of the party. i was told i would recieve 1 host, and that every person attending would need to sign a waiver. Never once was I told that the deposit was nonrefundable, nor was i given anything to sign, neither in person or via email. i went in yesterday to cancel the party ( 2 &1/2 weeks in advance) and was told that my deposit would not be refunded, but they proceeded to still cancel my event. I was then given an email for the manager and told to contact him about my deposit, and he has yet to respond. needless to say, the customer service is poor and the manager clearly is unresponsive. If a company has this vague of a policy disclaimer, and requires no signature acknowledging refund policies or gym policies then a full refund should be returned. i will never use summit to host any future event, and would discourage anyone else from using them aswell.
Great way to get fit without the drudgery of a typical gym experience!
I go there every day and just amazing.
Great staff and the community of athletes that come here are just so welcoming. Welcome to your new addiction.
This is a great way to get exercise and also fun for social events with friends.
Friendly staff, relaxed environment, helpful people all around!
Great place to top rope in the DFW area!
The best place to Rock climbing, awesome!
Was killer workout with a good friend, this is no rock wall at the town fair its great time!
First time at an actual gym and already plan on getting a membership!
It was so fun for my daughter
Good climbing gym just seems to be Always crowded
Great place!
Awesome place!
