I hired Mr. Roof to do a complete tear off of my existing roof and to install a brand new roof on my single family home located in Kentwood Michigan. Mr. Roof representative mislead me into believing they had followed protocol by obtaining a building permit before tearing off the old roof and installing the brand new roof .The roofing job was done in July 2021. I found out in August 2021 that Mr. Roof never pulled a building permit for my roof. When I contacted Mr. Roof for an explanation they claimed they were told by the City of Kentwood that a building permit wasn’t necessary for a complete roof tear off and new roof installation.When Mr. Roof gave me their poor explanation for not obtaining a building permit for my roofing job, I contacted the City of Kentwood’s building inspectors and was advised that a building permit was required for my roofing job. I then demanded that Mr. Roof obtain a building permit immediately.As of today’s date which is September 21,2021, Mr. Roof has failed to correct the identified building code violations with my roof installation. I’ve contacted the general manager Zach Comer and the Corporate office for over two months and have been given the run around .Based on my experience with Mr. Roof I find that their company is incompetent, they don’t follow building code guidelines, they make promises to complete contracted work and then fail to meet their contractual obligations.Mr. Roof sent a representative to my home today to complete the building code violations, instead of the Mr. Roof representative completing the building code violations with my roof that they installed,The Mr. Roof representative was rude and unprofessional with me because I advised him that I wasn’t comfortable allowing him to work on my roof in flip flop sandals .The Mr. Roof representative was also told by Building Code inspectors from both Kentwood and Grand Rapids that he could not work on the roof with our proper footwear, as it was against OSHA regulations. The Mr. Roof representative got defensive saying he had over 20 years of roofing experience and always did roofing work in flip flop sandals. In the end the representative from Mr. Roof got angry and refused to change out of his flip flop sandals and ultimately decided he would not correct the building code violations with the roof .I would not recommend anyone use Mr. Roof as they are rude, unprofessional and act like they are exempt from following mandated rules and regulations.I’m really curious to know how many other Mr. Roof customers have had roofing jobs done that required a building permit, but Mr. Roof failed to get the building permit ?Let all homeowner be very cautious when dealing with Mr. Roof. Make sure to check with your local building code department to make sure they pulled a building permit before allowing them to work on your home.I feel Mr. Roof really took advantage of me and are now refusing to give me refund or even correct the code violations to my roof .I’ve paid Mr. Roof my hard earned money and now they are treating me like a second class citizen . They have breached our contractual agreement and aren’t offering me any compensation or acceptable resolution to this matter .They say a photo is worth a thousand words. Looking at this photo, would you trust someone to work on your roof if they came wearing flip flops and refused to take them off ?Would you trust a company that is dishonest with you about obtaining a building permit for your roofing job?Before hiring this company, ask yourself if you desire to spend your precious time begging and pleading with a company to correct building code violations and other breach of contract issues ?As a homeowner, how would you feel if you had an unresolved concern, and contacted upper level management/ the company corporate office for months and they ignored your email messages and telephone calls ?This photo says a lot about the type of company Mr. Roof is and the type of people they hire to represent their company. I waited 2 years before leaving this review so it was not out of anger but frustration. In my opinion this is a very dishonest company. The salesman Zach Comer sat right at my table and told me this was my final price no matter what no hidden cost. Then after the job was done, he showed another bill for several thousand dollars more than agreed. I would not let this man or company in my house if I were you. They are a total scam in my opinion, and I highly recommend looking anywhere else for a reputable company. Good luck to you either way. Six 2x4s patched onto existing rafters, not replaced should not cost over three thousand dollars. In my opinion.

I scheduled an appointment with this company for evening hours so wed both be home from work and awake to get a quote on roof prices and the guy showed up in the morning, NOT at the scheduled time and was wandering around my property and woke me up when I had worked long hours and wasnt feeling well! Not sure why he was there then or felt he had a right to walk around my house without us out there with him, and many hours before our appointment, but he creeped me out! Then when he showed up at the scheduled time, he questioned my daughter and her boyfriend about being in our front yard looking at baby bunnys in their nest, as if they didnt have a right to be on our property! He creeped them out too! Then proceeded to do the same things he supposedly came in the morning unscheduled, for, so why had he come in the morning at all? I feel like he was scoping things out for dishonest reasons, thinking nobody was home in the morning but I was here and watching him wander around my house after he woke me up. I had stayed home from work because I wasnt feeling well and had worked twelve hours the day before so was tired as heck and not happy I got woken up by him! Who shows up in the morning without asking permission first, when there is already an evening appointment scheduled? Not anyone professional or honest, in my opinion! 😠 We did not end up using this company because of the poor impression the guy left us with.

I needed a total re-roof, and a portion of my roof had in existing bow in it. I was assured this would be no problem to fix. When the crew finally arrived they had no idea they were even supposed to touch it. Then later I found out it would be big money to even fix it. There were also 2-in gaps where the fascia was improperly installed. They later sent somebody back out to fix it, but the fact that they even left it like that should tell you a lot. Very disappointed with the overall quality, considering what I paid.

Roofers completed the job in a single day. They went above and beyond what is expected of them. They cleaned up the entire premise of my home, even fixing a gate that I had previously damaged. Could not recommend more. From start to finish, they kept my best interests at the forefront of their work.

We got the second half of our roof done by Mr.Roof. Everyone was on time once the rain cleared up and the job was done in one day which is amazing. The workers cleaned up after themselves and the project manager was checking in on them during the process.

This company is amazing !!! I knew i had areas that needed to be replaced. They had great communication with Mason and Kevin and Zack. Vivien was great updating for her communicating. I didnt have anything hidden come about and not know something. They took the pictures and sent to me. They all answered my question. There are professional. They were very fast and the quality i am impressed with. I am content 100 % and i know my roof is fixed and with no problems.

And what they would.be doing..I chose to have Mr. Roof do my roof...and paid half down and the remainderto be paid when completed..We never met anyone before that explained all the thingsthey would be doing like Mr. Buckius did.....made me feel at ease......Thank You..

Apparently they were doing work across the street for our neighbors on Sunday morning around 9:45am. The young man from your company pulled in our driveway, left his truck with trailer running in our driveway, and then walked across the street to speak to our neighbors. Perhaps he thought our driveway was available for his personal use. Instead of simply parking on the street he stated, it was easier to pull in your driveway. Im sure that it was easier, but he interrupted an online meeting my husband was doing to leave his unattended car in our driveway which is very unprofessional and a poor way to advertise your business. While we do need a new roof and windows, I would not ever consider your company.

I had Mr Roof come do some work based on their many years in business, and BBB accreditation. Unfortunately if they are capable of good service, I must be an exception. They we were not the cheapest quote by a long shot, but I was not deterred because I was willing to pay more to make sure the job was done right. First, they quoted new decking, which they did not replace. Only after I called them on it, did they say they would take it off the bill. Second, the cleanup left trash all over my neighbor’s yard, they said they wouldnt clean up because it was on someone else property. (No fences between the two, could have just asked the neighbors, or told me.) Third, my largest issue of ice damming, (Pre-existing to MR Roof) was not addressed. I told them as a disabled veteran, I was not able to climb a ladder in the middle of winter to deal with the ice damming. If the damming issue were not fixed, then there was no point in putting on a new roof. Fourth, the roof looks like a cut-rate company did it. They did not quote flashing, which should have been done. They did not ask if I wanted the flashing done (easy upsell?). I expected a professional company to come and make sure my roof, as a system, looked well, and performed like it should. I was not overly concerned with price as long as it was done right. I was deeply disappointed with the final result, and now I am having difficulty getting anyone to respond to, or help me find a solution to my complaints. They tell you their product is top notch and their service is #1. I am greatly disappointed with both. I urge anyone I discuss roofing and home improvement with to not use Mr Roof.

Mr. Roof replace my old roof a little over 2 years ago. Their staff did a very excellent job on my roof to raise the value of my home. Chuck was very professional and down to earth, while visiting my home. Their lifetime warranty and guarantee on replacing my roof in one day. I am very satisfied as a customer.

While 15 feet up, taring a worn out valley this summer, it started to hail out of nowhere. Nearly slipping off the roof, clinging to my Chimney, the jingle MR ROOF went thru my head. Sales Rep Mason came out gave me a price, I did not even shop around as it was a hair under $10,000. I cut the check that day, I did have to wait several weeks for the crew to show up, but was explained that would be the case. With about 5 men on the roof, these professionals did my roof in a day. I have a problem with it’s the way you guys are handling warranties right now. My boyfriend’s roof was redone within the last two years. It’s leaking and ruining the ceiling inside of his house. He has been trying to get ahold of you for months. Repeatedly, the receptionist has said she will talk to someone and call him back the next day and he never hears back. He calls her and the process repeats itself. He finally managed to schedule an appointment for 4pm today. It is 5:37 and no one has shown up. We have two children and would like to sit down to dinner. I’m sooooo mad right now!

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Mr. Roof-Grand Rapids. My roof has an extreme pitch to it. The Mr. Roof team arrived on the site as scheduled, like a well-trained army. They completed the entire tear-down and re-roofing in one day. They then thoroughly cleaned up the site to my satisfaction. I havent had a single problem since. Highly recommended.

We called when we had a problem and they came the next day.. Jay was amazing.. super friendly, nice, kind and very professional. He got the job done that day and in a timely fashion.

I would not recommend Mr. Roof to anyone I know. It took several weeks and multiple visits to our home to get the job done correctly. It has been months now and the flashing around the chimney has not been fixed. The crew had no idea what they were supposed to do and asked me to sign that it was complete when it wasnt even close. Not to mention, the GM Fred Belshaw will not interact with me via email, instead he will respond by calling my husband. Talk about sexist. Last time he called my husband, he said fixing the flashing on our chimney wasnt a priority compared to the roofs theyre fixing that have leaks. Well guess what, ours is going to leak, too, if you dont fix it. He told us that on Nov. 26 after initial install was early October. Mr. Roof has gone silent and were making payments on a roof that isnt complete, and is likely going to start leaking soon. DO NOT USE MR. ROOF!

I very much enjoyed working with Chuck Belshaw. He was on top of things during the whole process, always there to answer my questions, and made sure everything went smoothly. The work was very efficiently done and the crew left the place pristine. I highly recommend Mr Roof!

I dont have any negative comment about the quality of the work completed by the worker, except few nails here and there, which is not of a concern. I used their own company-made shingles in the same price for life time warranty. I had a concern about the shingles and mananger contacted me about my concern. The manager told me that the shingles were superior than other shingles available in the market; and there will be no hassle in replacing/renovating my roof provided I need to contact within certain time-frame, for my life-time warranty keep going. Lets see whether there will be a hassle or not!

We are so pleased with our new roof! Great quality and service. We will not have to worry about it for the rest our our lives! The crew arrived as promised at 7:30 AM and had everything done, including re-decking and clean-up, by 3:15 PM! Amazing! Mr. Roof did an amazing job on my home! They did the roofing, siding and insulation. There were 6 men in the roofing team. They got the job done in 1 day and cleaned up so nicely. I needed a roof repaired. Filled out the form on their site. Got a voice mail. Called them back. Was told they arent doing repairs in the Grand Rapids market. Only full roofs replacements.Uh? Thats not what their website says. Oh well. I own multiple buildings that will ALL need new roofs some day. At least now I know who NOT to call. Very short-sighted...

We had a great experience with Mr Roof. One day installation. Warranty on work and shingles through them and not warranty on work through them and other warranty with shingle company. They came soon after the installation to address some questions I had and made sure they were taken care of. They responded to all my calls and inquires. Competitive pricing with other companies. They did a great job cleaning up as well.

I was very impressed with the overall service from Mr. Roof. First, unlike several of the other estimates I got on replacing my roof, I was not pressured to buy something I didnt want or need. The installation and clean up went very well and they were careful not to damage any of the flowers or shrubs next to the house. Fast at roofing good at picking up big stuff from roof BUT really bad at picking up small things like roofing nails,Staples and big nails they never used the magnetic sweeper they did after complaining about Roofing Nails every where ..being big dont mean your the best

Were very satisfied with the work.. They were done with the whole job, house and garage, in a little over eight hours. That was a complete strip-off on both. It cost a little more but it was worth it. Clean-up was very good too.

Mr. Roof installed 10 windows in my home. The salesperson and installers were professional and did a great job. I had a problem with condensation on one of the windows and called for service, which was provided fairly quickly. I found out that it wasnt a problem with the window or the installation, but little to no insulation in my walls in that particular room. I am very happy with the quality of service and would definitely recommend Mr. Roof to others.

I hired Mr Roof in August to replace my entire roof before moving into my new home. My sales person Zach was excellent.When I saw the quality of their “replacement” I was very disappointed. I was assured that quality inspector would come out and make the repairs needed. This did not happen for over 2 months. When he finally came he informed me that there was a section of the roof that they didn’t do. This was news to me as that was the very specific section that made me want the roof replaced to begin with. After he argued with me that I never was supposed to have it done he finally tells me it’s too cold to do anything now anyway and that they would have to wait until spring. If I would have known it wasn’t replaced immediately when the job was completed in August and had the inspection and repairs done in a reasonable time frame the cold would not be an issue. He assured me that he inspected that section and it was good and I would be fine until Spring. Well... it is leaking. This should have been done correctly from the beginning and now I have a whole other issue because I chose this company.I’m extremely disappointed.I will add like everyone else there was a huge mess left from the installation of nails, trash and shingles.

We have been waiting 3 months for our gutters to get finished. They have forgotten about the job multiple times and even with many calls to their office the job hasnt been finished. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company.

Very unhappy with Mr. Roof. When I first originally booked work with Dave, the sales guy, he told me if I applied for financing, I wouldnt be charged interest the first 12 months. He SPECIFICALLY told me there is no minimum monthly payments and I would be able to make any amount of payments the first 12 months, interest free. AFTER 12 months, then I would be charged interest. Receiving my bill after making my first payment, I WAS CHARGED INTEREST. I called green sky online, the financing company, she told me the promotion is that if the balance is paid off after 12 months, I would be reimbursed all the interest that was charged to me. Dave NEVER told me that was the promotion WHAT SO EVER. He told me NO interest would be charged until AFTER 12 months! The lady from the financing company said theres not even a promotion that they offer where theres no interest charged at all the first 12 months. Just reimbursement after 12 months. Theres a huge difference. VERY VERY upset for being LIED to. Wish I wouldve never had work done by Mr. Roof. Very unhappy with several other things that happened with them. Being lied to and given the wrong information is the worst customer service ever. I wouldnt refer anyone to Mr. Roof.

Mr. Roof worked with me to make sure this was the right thing to do. They worked with me so I could afford this financially too. They did not pressure me at all but instead helped me understand everything that was needed. The entire roof was done in 1 day! It looks amazing and I am so happy that I got the new roof and new gutters with gutter guards. I worked with Jeremie the whole time and I highly recommend him to help you too!

Mr. Roof did a thorough job on replacing my roof. Clean up was thorough, and I have noticed decreases on my heating bill.

Had a rep come out to quote me on a job. I accepted the price and signed the papers to request the work be done. Next day the rep called me back saying he lost my billing info. It all sounded a little sketch and I gave him the information again. When I asked when I would see the down payment charge I was informed it would come through the next day. That was the last I ever heard from the company. No charge in the following two weeks and no further contact from anyone at all. When scheduling the initial inspection they noted that someone would come out in an unmarked car, but it still seems very odd.Update: I was contacted in an effort to resolve the issues I experienced. Thats a a great effort. However I was told that someone had come to my house while I was not there, without an appointment, and already done the work. I was never left any receipt of service, so now Im in an awkward position of having to prove that work was/wasnt done, because now Mr roof wants money. Of course when I check my chimney there is no patch, so work was obviously not done. When the company rep called back I had to tell them that they were mistaken, work was not done, and that I would not be paying for services not rendered. This whole ordeal was a waste of time an very annoying.

He quoted us a ridiculous amount of money, and Ignored our questions about filing an insurance claim due to water damage, and ultimately we decided to get quotes from other companies that helped us get our roof completely replaced with a lifetime warranty. Mr. Roof came out to My home December of 2015 on a Sunday at 8am replaced the OSB boards that were bad and roofed my home and was done by I believe 1pm. They did a phenomenal job. Absolutely love it.

I am not sure what all the glowing reviews are all about but I am very disappointed with this company and DO NOT recommend them to anyone. My estimate appt was rescheduled three times by the assigned representative Mr. Doc. with all excuses in the book. I finally called the company and they agreed to send someone else out but no one showed up or even called. I took time off work to wait for these people. Well, if someone shows you their true self the first time, you better believe it.They will not be hearing from me again!!!

They worked with my insurance and I chose them because they are very well-known. When they were done, it looked great and the area was left clean. Actually they left in better shape than they found it!

Very respectful and willing to finance if needed! No mess left behind after the job was done!

I hired Mr. Roof to replace our 17-year-old roof this summer, because they offered a unique product with a unique guarantee. Their promotional materials included copies of competitors warranties, and I was impressed to find that they were the real thing after doing a quick web search of my own. True to their word, the entire job was finished in one day, and clean-up was good (only a couple of stray roofing nails left behind). Crew were professional, and the finished product looks good. Price was very competitive, especially considering the unique product (rubber shingles). The closest thing to a negative is that maintaining the warranty requires pro-actively scheduling them to come out for maintenance every 5 years, so it just requires that the homeowner be organized.

They were a top notch organization to work with. We own a business ourselves, and they handled themselves like we would handle our business. I appreciate their service.

I called them they were supposed to be out one night never showed up the guy called me and said he was up north he’ll be there the next day never showed up if I could give it a zero stars I would would not recommend this company for nothing

You can trust these people. If you look at the small print of any roofers warranty, Mr. Roof shames them all. They are also backed by a much larger international company. Theyre a very logical and safe choice for your roofing needs

We have tried to have Mr roof install new windows and every time we schedule an appointment Jeremie cancels our appointment.After a month of non stop cancellations weve decided to go elsewhere

The quality of our roof is incredible. They got it done in a very timely manner and cleaned up their mess. They never up-saled me, it was very relaxed, no stress. I know what other companies are out there and I can stress it enough how happy I am that I chose Mr Roof.

They installed new windows for me and they look excellent. I have been through 3 good rains and all is fine.

If I could, I would give -5 star for disrespect & poor customer service. My boyfriend & I have a place together but since my last relationship messed up my credit for awhile his name is on everything but I make all the decisions & do the maintenance work on the place. Hes asked that I call Mr. Roof and see of they do trailers & have them come out and give an estimate if they do. He wants no part of it and wants it done before he gets home from work because he doesnt want deal with it & doesnt unstand the construction language. I told him no problems. Ive had many other companies come out and do projects on this place with out issues, once i inform to them he wanted no part. I dont understand why they wont. Doto medical reasons i can not do it myself anymore and is the ONLY reason Im calling in help on this. But i guess Ill have to look else where for a roof. This company needs to pull their heads out of their butts. I have just as many rights as he does and have had no problems with other companies but this one.

They brought a ton of samples out and did a good job giving us options. It looks beautiful and came in on budget.

They did work for us 3 years ago. My house looks like new. The men who came to my house were very nice and were very efficient.

If I could give negative stars I would. They dont do what they say and will not return phone calls in a timely fashion. Marty promised no ruts after I mentioned it. There was trash left everywhere along with ruts, and when trying to get it fixed Fred wouldnt call back. Fred assured me hed fix the ruts 30 long from road to my barn. All he did was dump a bag of topsoil in each rut and raked it so about 4 was covered. There isnt pride in their work, beware of this group. They damaged personal belongings also while doing tear off. Trying to get anywhere with these people is so frustrating, buyer beware!

There were a lot of roofers coming through our neighborhood after the storm a few years ago. I made a poor choice and had one of them do my roof - after 5 years I was tired of the problems and just had mr roof re-do it and it sure does look good. all the leaks went away too!

This company took advantage of elderly and stole from the customer. Dispicable people should be out of business
