We just bought a house and when we put in our offer the sellers must have turned off the pool system and just let it sit for sixty days because it was GROSS! We went into the store today and Jordan (sorry if that spelling is wrong) was so kind and helpful. They seriously went above and beyond in helping us gather everything and told us we can definitely handle this! After getting us all the supplies and so patiently explaining things (a few times hehe) to me husband and I, they told us to bring back a water sample once we killed the algae growing in that thing to help us figure out the rest. They even told us to call with questions. SO KIND! Great experience!

Every time we stop into the store on Plainfield weve had wonderful service. From water testing to explaining different chemicals, the manager Jordan goes above and beyond for us. Greets us with a smile and even remembers our names! We cant think of shopping anywhere else. Its nice to see a company care about customers again and have staff like Jordan.Keep up the good work Pools Plus!

I was surprised at how terrible the customer service at this business was. My first visit I went in hoping to get some help managing the ph and alkalinity of our hot tub. I bought a house with a built in hot tub and I have never owned one before. I made this very clear. I learned that I could bring in a water sample, so, the next time i come back with a water sample. The guy then rudely says its not much of a sample. He then informs me that he needed 20 ounces, I probably brought 12. Well youd think he would have told me that at my first visit when I said I know nothing about this and didnt even know I could bring a sample. My husband returns with a sample and the guy dumps most of it down the sink after running the test....clearly he did not need 20 oz. He then explains that he cant give us any information on how to fix our water without knowing exactly how many gallons there are. Well sorry but its built in and there is no information on it. He would not help us at all. Apparently if you dont know exactly how many gallons your tub holds and he cant put numbers into a computer to do the work for him, he knows nothing. He was rude, arrogant, and annoyingly sarcastic with each encounter ON TOP OF not being at all helpful. I went to Fox Pools and they were extremely helpful. I will never go back to this business.

Owners need to educate themselves on the Supreme Court rulings and the ADA. The MIOSHA Rules are only applicable to government agencies not private companies or individuals! ADA says you can be fined 75k for discrimination! Putting a sign up stating the customer can choose to wear or not wear a mask and us common sense is a better business decision. You likely have lost mine bc of the rudeness a unconstitutional store rule.

TERRIBLE PHONE SYSTEM AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Ordered a hot tub cover, paid in full. After 4 weeks I called to check status and was told it was at another location. I asked when it would be at the store for pick up and was told someone would call me. I called on Monday and left a message, no return call. Stopped by on Tuesday in person and was told by Jordan, someone would call me. Wednesday nothing! Thursday, I called again, this time given phone option to leave message with manager. No return call! I stop by again Thursday after work and all Jordan could say was I passed it on to our service department I asked to speak to the manager, he is not here. I reiterated that I have paid for the cover and am getting a run around on its delivery! I called back Friday, got Jordan, she said she was working on it. She called me back and said it was there. I showed up the next morning to pick it up and there is a sign on the door that they were running errands and would be back over an hour from the time showed up. Normal office hours but closed! So I had to make 2 trips that day to pick it up! After all that runaround they offered me nothing for all my inconvenience! Bottom line, when my aging hot tub needs replaced, I will spend my $8000 somewhere else! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE!!!

Experience here with sales staff was good up until we needed service on our tub. Service department is trash. From the first phone call, to the first service call, to the multiple times we were told we’ll call you next week, and that week came and went......not once but twice.....are you kidding?!? Unorganized, unprofessional, lack of communication, don’t follow through on their word, give you the run around, and chances are they’ll respond to this with some sort of passive aggressive and defensive excuse instead of trying to make things right, typical lol......honestly, scheduling a service call, ordering parts, staying in contact, completing a job in a timely manner for a loyal customer who’s spent over 15k on a product and always gets their chemicals from you to support your business instead of just going to meijer or someplace more convenient, like who do you people think you are?!? Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed. You might make money, but you shouldn’t be proud of how you do it. We’ve had multiple friends (at least 6 couples) ask us where we got our tub, and if we liked it, and now we have to say “don’t go where we went!” I’m not some entitled a hole, I don’t expect special treatment, but decent, responsible, timely service is not at all too much to ask.

A lot of ups and downs but eventually they made it right....Lots of missing parts that put a delay on the build. Different crew out here almost everyday. Was told one side of our pool would need a 1 foot retaining wall, turns out 3 sides need a retaining wall... varying in size from 1 foot to 3.5 feet.No one communicates and you are left wondering when someone will be back to work on your project. This started at day 1. Most times no one would respond and our sales guy would just say “I can’t get a response from anyone.” Project started 5/27, it is June 19th and we are still waiting for completion. The pool is in and usable. Edit: project completed on June 22nd.Concrete people damaged our fence and no one wanted to take responsibility. Basically were told we were lying but they did pay to fix the fence. Guess that’s a win.Pool is beautiful and is the perfect size. Equipment runs beautifully and is as expected.Bryan and Marcus are amazing and are wonderful to work with.Glad our pool is in and the experience is over.

Just had my water tested Plainfield once again my pool water is perfect it is so simple the formula is have your water tested at least every 2 weeks do what they tell you and swim in it Ive had my pool 5 years never wants as my water gone bed

I go between this store, and their other Grand Rapids store, depending on if Im at work or at home. I love the staff at the other store, but this store has a puppy some days, and that cant be beat. Not that I dont like this staff, but, a puppy!I guess you want to know the prices are good, staff is knowledgeable, store is clean, blah, blah blah.... Puppy!

Three months ago I purchased a new spa from the Pools Plus location on Plainfield. The service has been outstanding. My wife and I have never owned a spa before and had A LOT of questions, to say the least. The staff at the store exceeded our expectations in every way when it came to explaining operations of the spa, chemical maintenance, and general recommendations. It is nice to feel like you are taken care of when you make a major purchase like a spa!

Update - service has gone downhill. Store manager, Dan? At the Plainfield location (not wearing a mask even though the entrance says masks required), wouldn’t lift his finger to look into when I purchased my hot tub. One of the other employees was able to find the information. When I asked about the warranty (basic question about how long they are with new hot tubs) he said he couldn’t answer that question and that I would have to call Pools Plus Service or the hot tub company directly. He was very nonchalant and seemed to be doing nothing while everyone else was working. I asked if he had the number for pools plus service and he sat behind his desk and said they were closed today...thanks for telling me to call them and not offering that info. And also nice customer service after spending $$$$$ - not even writing the phone numbers on a piece of paper for me. The management speaks volumes about a company and with the kind of $ we have spent here, you would think the bar would be higher than Walmart.

He knows pools and pool chemicals inside and out and is one of the main reasons we continue to shop with Pools Plus. This company doesnt care about anything other than the sale. We have gotten nothing but a run-around from them since. We made four phone calls to them in the last week to see if the item we ordered was in. It was, but they needed to find it. Three out of the calls, they said they would call us back, but never did. Finally they told us the item would be in their store by the middle of this week and they would call us. They never did. I called again today to find out if it was there, only to be told the manager was the only person who could check and wouldnt be in until Monday. Anybody in the store should be able to check to see if a customers order is in.

Pools Plus installed an in ground, vinyl liner pool for my family this Spring. The job was finished quickly and adequately. Though Finished is probably not the proper term. There was trash left at the job site for weeks after the installation, until my fence contractor was nice enough to dispose of it for Pools Plus. After several days of work, I was able to scrape off of the concrete covered tape left on the coping, and after several MONTHS, the service crew finally came out and fixed the sagging liner.Within the first 2 weeks of the installation, all four corners of the concrete patio had cracked. The cracks continue to worsen, and I continue to try to get someone from Pools Plus to repair the cracks. No luck so far. I was promised it was warranteed and someone would be out to take care of it over four months ago. Im still hopeful for a solution.The pool itself is beautiful and is working great. The customer service, communication and empty promises of Pools Plus Inc. have ruined my experience with them. I would recommend you look elsewhere for an in ground pool installation.

I called service at the 29th Street location at 10:00 this morning, as my Hot Springs tub was showing an error message. Marcus told me he would see if he could get someone out to look at my issue. By 2:30, problem solved! Not only did they fix it quickly but gave me some guidance on additional preventative maintenance. Thanks for your great service.
