Sam was great, he was beyond professional and was very knowledgeable. His shop did the job without any problems. The center bearings in my drive shaft went out and they took care of it for a good price and the job had a 36000 nation wide warranty. I would highly recommend.

Its very difficult to find a mechanic that you trust. Sam, who is the main mechanic here, I find to be very trustworthy. Completely disarming when it comes to your average worries when finding a new place to have your car fixed. The gentleman was straight up, sympathetic, honest, and I will definitely be returning here to have my vehicle service in the future.

Wow what can I say! Professional and efficient when I was in a bind. This shop is on Broadway . After receiving a crazy price for a minor service (broken hub stud after a tire change), I decided to get a second opinion. I spotted Sams shop by chance because I saw a woman standing in the shop. I shared with him that women, especially women that are alone like the assurance of not going to a creepy auto shop and risking being harassed, so I swiveled over and took a chance. Sam was so confident that he could fix my issue and he did! Sams staff did great work on my car and he told me the work could be up to 90 minutes, but had me out the shop in 45 mins. Sams price was very reasonable for my budget and I will definitely be back for additional detail services. Women, it is safe place to go if you need to sit alone- the lobby smells good and is clean with refreshments for clients. I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. Called at 8am with broken truck. It ended up being a Broken water pump. He had me towed to his yard. By 2:30pm he had he rolling. Sam checked on me while I was still stuck on the sea wall waiting on tow.Tow truck took longer than the repair work. Fair pricing and extremely courteous.

I called to get a price to replace one of the catalytic converters on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. The woman who answered (who, by the way, never knows anything, cant find anything out or wont find anything out) said Sam would call me back whenever he gets in which she doesnt know when that will be. A day passes and no call back. I call them back and the lady doesnt know why he didnt call back but will leave another message. Finally the next day I get a call back with Sam saying he called me back and I didnt answer. I checked my call history and there was no call from him. He gave me a reasonable price and said if I bring it in Friday morning, hell have it back to me by that afternoon. I called Friday and was told by the lady who doesnt know anything that she doesnt know anything and Sam will call me back and by some miracle, he does call me back. He said its in the shop being worked on right now. Well Friday passed and no word from them. I called them Saturday and guess who answered? The lady who doesnt know anything and she told me she doesnt know anything and Sam will call me back. I hear back from Sam and he tells me that it will be ready Monday and that he just ordered the part. I mentioned the call from yesterday saying it was being worked on that moment. He said they havent done anything to it yet and the part will be in Monday. He said they havent even touched it. I said good, Im going to pick it up, I dont want them working on it. Just another shady mechanic.

On a short weekend to Galveston, our older MB SLK350 convertible broke down in our first hour on the island. Called this shop, Kayser Automotive, randomly first and, although a busy late Friday afternoon, Sam assured us he could get it towed to the shop and thought it was the serpentine belt. They could work on it Saturday and we’d have it in time to enjoy the afternoon driving around. It was the belt and a traction pulley. The cost was well within reason. We could have been stuck for several days if we went elsewhere! We are thankful to have found this shop and it’s owner Sam. Definitely full of integrity and honest. Highly recommend! Maybe we’ll drop off our other car for service next visit to Galveston.

Horrible. 292 dollars to fix my drivers side window and now my door panel is messed up and my passenger side and one back window will not work from the drivers panel. Tried to talk to the owner that Tried telling me that was something different. I didnt trust him to do me right.

We went to Kaysers automotive to get our car looked at, we knew there were a few things wrong and needed a list so we could prioritize what got fixed first. For all of the testing on the power steering system, a/c, and oil light was under 100. That is so much cheaper than some of the other places weve had to go. Not only that, but their customer service was absolutely amazing. They remembered name, gave me a ride home and picked me up since I needed to leave my car there, and just made me feel very welcome. I am so glad that I found them, we wont be using a different mechanic for any repairs we need done.

Been on the island for a while now... left and came back visited these guys for a oil change.....Well litterly the next day i start hearing noises dealing With my power steering....now i usually watch mechanics really close because of this but unfortunately i had my family with me so i was a little distracted ...i can go so much into detail about all the skeptical things he did like having to lift and bring my car down multiple times as if he didnt know what he was doing But needless to say DONT TRUST THEM IF THEY THINK THEY CAN GET OVER THEY WILL!!!! and be for i Left this Was the one place i Trusted

I had a 2015 Chevy Malibu and NO one could figure out how to get the check engine light OFF that dealt with the battery system.. After replacing all of the parts (unnecessarily) related to the code with no success, I took it to Sam and voilà it was fixed.. Engine light OFF for good!! Thank you so much Sam!!

Island Muffler is a family run repair shop that is excellent with both old and new vehicles. Vito and Sean and their dad are conscientious about doing a good job and not making you spend more than you need to spend. For over 10 years Vito at Island Muffler has CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED and FIXED all of my cars including my daughter’s TURBOCHARGED European coupe, my wife’s Mazda that had an ELECTRICAL issue where the Mazda dealer gave up on, and he CREATIVELY kept on the road my old Subaru (260,000 miles). He always explains to me the possible costs with clarity and lets me bring in my parts, but I NEVER PAY MORE if Island Mufflers sourced the parts. The labor charges are very reasonable, and Vito always presents me with an estimate and charges me LESS MONEY if the repair takes less effort than anticipated. You cannot ask for more!

We recently bought a 1985 Ford Bronco and needed a new muffler and tailpipe. Island muffler on Broadway and they were excellent, service was fast, felt really comfortable with the whole experience!! Definitely a total great experience!!
