So far the car has no problem. The processing of paperwork needs a little bit quicker but over all I am happy and satisfied. I will change my 4 star to 5 star if I will get my DMV paperwork soon than later.

I came to CarMax to buy a car. I hadnt purchased a car in fourteen years. Things have changed. I did not want a new car but a dependable used (preowned) auto. I was impressed with the whole organization. I was particularly impressed with the two people who assisted me. They made it a simple process. I have a car that meets my needs and had a good time buying it.

Where do I start??? (Brian Cass) is beyond amazing! Hes patient, kind, informative, detail oriented, and overall truly cares about helping people. He asked questions about the car I didnt think to ask. He made sure my car was in top condition, and that I was fully covered for my full 3 years if any issue with my vehicle were to arise. I appreciate him taking the time to give me tips on how to improve my credit! He also helped me to come up with a refinance plan to get a better rate though my credit union in 7 months. With people like Brian, I see why CarMax has been so highly recommended.Every part of this process was easy going, peaceful, and informative.Oh and did I mention I left with the car I wanted???Yeah, Brian helped me with that too!Thanks again, Brian! Selling my car to CarMax was one of the easiest transactions ever! They were punctual and very friendly. The wait was lengthy but that was only because so many ppl were buying and selling cars. Fully understand that though.

Incredibly fast and convenient because we did our appraisal on line. We had an excellent offer online best of all when we took our car in we got exactly what was offered on line. They paid off my loan within a reasonable amount of time.

Great appraisal and time on appraising and being seen initially. However, once offer was made it took 2 hours to get sign and get paid. Everyone was very nice but the closing portion of the deal seemed excessive.

Long wait times. I purchased the car and within a week started having issues. I waited 41/2 hours for them to tell me that a part would have to be ordered and I am still waiting for it to come in. I bought a car that needs service before I have even made my first payment. Carina in the service department has been great, but other than that my experience was very disappointing. I would not purchase a car here againUpdate to the Carmax response: I have tried to call the service dept many times by phone and no one answers, you leave a msg and never get a call back.

WoW! What a busy place......had an appointment but that really didnt seem to matter. They were taking everybody as they walked in. If they ran it like the DMV where appointments help those that schedule them it would of been a better experience, all that said. Employees were courteous and helpful and made the best of a chaotic situation. Carmax gave me a very good price on my vehicle so I waded through the process to completion. Just a heads up, they are busy!!!

It was difficult to get the car near me and after only owning it for 2 weeks it broke and would not start. Carmax mechanics have had it for over a week and still have not even looked at it. I will be returning the car for a full refund. Total lemon!

I went to Carmax to get my truck appraised. Overall my experience was very good. It took a little longer to actually get the vehicle appraised over what I expected. It was not enough though to subtract a star. Carmax offered me just a little more for my vehicle than any other car buying service. I did sell my truck to Carmax.

We bought a Beautiful Lexus ES 350 here. Had to transfer it from a Sacramento store. It came clean and fully inspected. We had an issue with the driver side door lock, but it got resolved. No haggle is just that. You pay what you see. Great car good overall experience.

I will give 1 star because it wont let me give ZERO! We have bought about 5 cars from Fresno Carmax. The last two times has been ridiculous! If the price is set, the paperwork is done in advance, why would it take 6 hours to complete a purchase?!?! The gal helping us was basically rude, they had to run my credit twice jacking up my FICO score, and this was all done and approved before we even walked in the door. We will NOT be buying a vehicle from them every again!!

Carmax has the worst costumer service! Call center had me on hold forever and now I’m on hold again with Fresno finance department for like 20 minutes now! Of course the purchase was done and over with so who cares about my needs now! And now Kay has given me a number to call because she can’t help me. I explained what I needed before she put me on hold the first time she answered. So here I go again with the explanation of my needs! What a waste of time!

We went to car max to sell a vehicle. We pre-set an appointment and were seen promptly. The appraisal was completed within an hour with a price higher than we anticipated. The scheduling issue came when it was time to complete the deal and get the payoff check. There was over a 2 hour wait to finalize. The company is great, but the Fresno branch really has a problem with scheduling and letting business get backed up. I would go again with he expectation that it will take all day.

The whole process, starting from getting an on-line offer, was great! All the folks we worked with were so positive and supportive, ready to answer our questions. The only downfall was the EXTREMELY long wait to receive our check. We did have an appointment and everything moved pretty fast at the beginning. Then it took 1 1/2 hours to get handed our final sign off papers and get our check. Seemed a little excessive. Thank you for this opportunity.

So I went in last night to buy a car and they were pretty busy! I had an appointment at 7:30 and I already knew exactly what car I wanted and I had put it on hold earlier that day. I went through the finance portion over the phone, but when I sat down with Michelle she got me through all the rest so I could be in my car that night! I finally got financed for something on my own recently coming out of a divorce and I am so grateful to both Michelle and Vanessa, even the manager and anyone who expedited my process! You were so helpful and I love my new car! Thanks guys! Only good experiences here!

Car selection is pretty good and prices are decent but the lack of people to help makes me not want to return. Make an appointment for test drive only to find out they allow 20 other appointments at same time without help to cover all of their customers. Id rather wait in line to make a guaranteed appointment. 3 stars may be to high for their lack of customer service.

Bought a car from carmax, was super excited to get it. Upon receiving the car, it had two major scratches. One one the side of the car and one on the back. When I mentioned it to them as I was picking up my car, they made sure I was aware that I would indeed get a free detail and get all those scratches polished out. I keep trying to make appointments to do that and no one wants to answer in the service department. I have called 8 times now in the last two weeks and every time I have left a message and no one has gotten back to me. I also wanted to add in how once I got my car, the very next day I was filling it up with gas- my maintenance light came on. So much for that “360 check” carmax. Do better.

This company has won me back to buying from a company and not private owner.I seriously had such a fantastic experience here. Felipe and Wes were so kind and so helpful! It was the easiest buying process. Also, i had a couple things that needed to be fixed after we bought the truck. And they fixed them! My RAM- now works fantastic. Absolutely will be coming back for future purchases.

Where do I even start? OK we’ve been here a good 3 to 4 times and they’ve been very helpful. But today was a whole different story. We drove an hour to get our car appraised to sell to them and waited over an hour and a half AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT TIME. we went to see what was taking so long and they said they closed at 7 and all the appraisers left. Mind you they checked us in and claimed they called my husband’s phone. (No one called, no one texted) Not one sorry just a shrug and a walk away. NEVER AGAIN!

I walked in to see if I could purchas a truck they said I could put my name on the list and wait about 2 hours or I could make an appointment. I decided to make an appointment. It was at 1:30 I got there early to check in 1:30 came and passed. They told me they did not know how much longer it would be. I asked why we make appointments if they were not going to see me at that time. 2:45 came and they were finally ready to help me. What a joke. Never go there if your time is important to you, because it surely isnt important to them. Worst car buying experience ever. I did buy a car from a company that was eager to earn my business. There loss.

The price to sell my car was great, but nothing else was. I was not greeted when I arrived and could not figure out who to talk to. When I figured out who to talk to they briefly pointed to another person and continued the conversation they were having with their friend. I had a preapproved internet offer. They test drove my car and said it would take about 30 min. That soon complete AND THEN they turned me over to the business office. I WAITED OVER 2 HOURS to receive my check. When I looked at people who were supposed to be processing paperwork they were casually talking to each other and few were actually working. Many other folks had been waiting a long time also. Not to mention, the drink machine was broken and it was over 100 degrees outside. Then to top it off Car Max has canceled its courtesy ride service so I had to call an Uber to go home after selling my car. It was a horrible experience. There was no concern for me and I was treated like dirt. If I had been the boss many people would have been fired that day!

Sean in the Business Center scores a negative zero for customer service. He instructed me to have a check signed over to them so I drove to town and went to sign. Then he said oh we dont need you to sign we sent it as is to be cashed if it doesnt go through we will call you and you will have to fix it. It was his miscommunication and failed communication and he took no accountability. Should the check get returned I will be at my home address and he can drive here to fix it. Please look up mine and my husbands name. We purchased numerous vehicles from you and never had an encounter with someone so disrespectful as that piece of garbage.

The place was clean but underneath the surface this was a horrible experience!! The no haggle philosophy just means they set a price and train sales people to stick to the motto. I hate going to a place where associates have to ask managers for everything. Sorry but in my day people didnt need so many managers. Either u wanna make a sale or not. I will not pay $23,998 for a 2017 Audi when there is one up the road with 5000 more miles at $18,998. Let me know if u come down to $21,500 Carmax

I would have purchased a car that day I went in, if it weren’t for our lazy, unhelpful sales rep. I had all my papers and loan all ready for a purchase. I paid for a transfer fee to have it ship to Fresno CarMax then drove over an hour there, to be utterly disappointed by the lack of help or acknowledgment from our sales rep. Walked out on him and never returned.

I made an appointment online got my offer and came in and the entire process was very smooth.

Staff are courteous and helpful. The entire process of buying or selling a car is painless and, most importantly, honest. No haggling about price; when they offer an “extra”, such as an extended warranty, they accept my answer.

The Way Car Buying Should Be I was so impressed with my CarMax buying experience. This just flat-out beats any of my previous dealership car buying experiences Ive had in the past. I have to say CarMax was truly a 100 percent hassle-free car buying experience for me! I made my purchase without even visiting a showroom floor, I was able to do my research and clearly view the car online through their amazing web site. They had lots of cars to choose from in the make and model I wanted, and when I had made my final selection I was equally impressed with my sales agent over the phone (Stephanie) she was perfect, explaining the buying process, and working with me to easily make the purchase. Never did they try to force an up-sell me on things I did not need, and the price you see is really the price you pay. They did everything exactly as they promised they would do. I even had my car delivered to my house free of charge. When I received the car it beat all my expectations, and the delivery took less than an hour to complete. I have been driving my new car now every day for almost a month and I just love this car. What a deal! This is by far the best purchase I have made in a long time. Thank you Stephanie and the CarMax Team, I will be a return customer the next time I need a vehicle.

Waited for hours! Was told 1 1/2 hour wait after given a written offer. Waited over 2 1/2 to sign 10 minutes of paperwork and get a check. Will never do that again. Son needed to sell and the offer was made and he was happy with it so I stuck it out. When I spoke with the manager he never apologized and just said I don’t have anyone available right now. Be prepared to wait a long time.

I havent owned a vehicle in decades and they whole car lot sales idea was daunting... that said I found that being able to view online with the parameters of budget, type of vehicle, cost, mileage etc. was actually fun! The folks at CarMax made the experience friendly and not too time consuming and I left with the car I wanted that same day! Awesome...

I will never again get a car from here. The manager was very rude and told me I didn’t need certain things what I had was perfect I get to the dealership and they tell me I need 3 paystubs instead of 2 and 3 months of bank statements. I got there at 11 and it is now almost 2 and they still can’t figure out my annual income. They have all the correct documents and it is taking 3 different people to figure it out. I will not use them again. The guy who helped me was very nice and just kept apologizing for the wait he gets 4 stars

If i could rate a negative star, i would, heck they’re even lucky they 1 star! I reserved a vehicle online went the next day, only to tell me that the vehicle has been purchased, i was furious! What’s the point of reserving when you’re just gonna give it away! So i called toyota of clovis and asked to test drive a newer camry, drove there instantly and was ACCOMMODATED RIGHT AWAY, 3 hrs later i drove home a 2020 camry SE, this place is very unorganized, you need to get your sh*t together or else you’ll start to lose clients. It was worth taking my business else where!

There was a little mixup originally with what vehicle I reserved, but they made things right. In the end I am really happy with the vehicle I purchased.

No one has checked on our purchase as customers. I have been trying to call and email Carmax of Fresno about a few issues with the car we bought (a 2021)! Haven’t been called or emailed back, and that is terrible customer service. I would not recommend this place. Try Carvana

Brian and the staff were marvelous, took good care of us, explained everything and were very patient. Especially kind was Jenna, who was patient and forgiving of my impatience over the phone. We will come back again if we are still here when we need a new car.

I will start by saying that my initial sales representative was great but the whole experience was ridiculously long. I came for a 2:30 appointment to sell 1 vehicle and buy another. I jad all my paperwork in tact. I was not financing. Eveything on my end was done and provided for by about 3:20. Its 7:40 now and ive been waiting several hours for someone so we can sign the final documents. I have seen people arrive after me and leave beforehand. This service is a joke. Over 5 hours and still waiting.

Everything went really well and smoothly. Brian was of great help and made the process even better! Will definitely recommend, especially to have Brian lead them through the process.

Great Car Buying ExperienceWent in after looking online and after short wait was helped and shown all the vehicles I was interested in.Test drive and decision made and drove the car home a few hours later.

I like the no fuss of purchasing at CarMax but they really need to get better organized. It easily took a minimum of an hour each time we were there. We came for a test drive that took them over an hour to schedule...even though we had a set time to come in and sign the paperwork. We then were purchasing the vehicle and again...we had a set time but the paperwork was not ready ... its as if we had just decided to buy a vehicle off the lot. We had already paid $1,300 to have the vehicle shipped to our CarMax so if we said we were going to purchase, then the likelihood of us backing out was almost nil with that much already invested. Our CSR was great. He was really good about calling us to check on things, I just think they could move more people in and out by being more organized.

Had an appointment at 7pm.... that didnt matter I waited until 8:57 pm, after I continuously asked how long it will be... before someone said youll have to come back tomorrow..... well Tomorrow came and I waited from 10am until 330 pm..... and I just left..... the worse customer service everrrrrrrr

We were ready to purchase today. We had an appointment at 2pm. We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our “appointment” and we were never helped. So we left. We saw approximately 10-12 employees standing around doing nothing in the time we were waiting which is so infuriating. What is the point of an appointment??? I do not recommend this dealership. Due to Covid,, You can put a car in hold on computer and therefore Nothing I wanted to drive or look at was available. I looked at literally 15 cars or more, it was exhausting and I was almost ready to call the day a Bust. I was finally able to find one I wasnt really interested in but turned Out ; I Love it !!!I was on the lot for over 6 Hours between getting there for my Appointment, looking and buying. Love my Car tho !

My appointment was at 3pm and I left with my check and paperwork by 4:15pm. It was the first time I used CarMax and appreciate the great experience and will recommend to others.

Our sales rep was awesome and everything completed within a half hour of arrival. The finance office was the worst! We arrived for our 10 am appointment right on time. We completed everything by 10:30 am... then the roadblock! The business office got everything handed to them and we sat for hours! We didn’t else a signer until 2:30 pm and she was the rudest woman I’ve ever encountered. She didn’t want to answer questions or explain anything I was signing, she told me to just sign!!! She then rushed through everything and literally “BARKED” orders at our sales rep (who was new). Mind you the sales rep was kind enough to stay with us the entire time, until a signer came to us. She even held out on lunch! She was super sweet! To conclude, we have bought 3 cars in the past year from CarMax, however... after this experience, this more than likely will be our last time ever stepping onto a CarMax property! We had our teenager (who gets easily) and our 4 year old (who gets impatient easily), and to wait 4 hours to sign was completely unbearable! Then to be treated rude and disrespectfully... simply not ok.
