I am originally from NJ and was accustom of getting “Jersey” nails. When i move to Frederick two years ago, I could not find a nail salon who listened to what I wanted, took their time, and delivered. Most importantly they did not break or lift after one week. I am so happy I found this place. My nails look better then when I got them done in New Jersey. I also met the most wonderful people, Michelle and her husband, who know how to treat their customers and truly care about the service they provide. I am not going to another nail salon and I finally feel I found my “nail home” You must book your appointment right away, to truly experience “the white glove service” you will receive, especially when you compare them to the other nail salons. FANTASTIC PLACE!!!

This place is amazing. In the past, I always had problems with my acrylic nails lifting. They would only last a week or so. Since coming here I’ve never had that problem and nails always last forever. Machelle always does an amazing job on my nail art; even when I give her my wild ideas. She’s so talented and creative.

Machelle and Michael are amazing!!! They take the time to build a connection with their clients and make sure you feel comfortable. They educated me about nail care and the materials that were used. I got a full acrylic set and I have to say it is the best set that I have ever had! Highly recommend!!!

I went to machelle three times and had a great experience, however when I went to book my 4th appointment on the website, I got a text saying they were unable to do the requested appointment. I tried different days/ times and still no luck booking an appointment. I then got a message on the web saying I was unable to book with this business. After many attempts to try and book an appointment, I texted machelle to let her know the issue. She first told me she wasn’t sure and it should be working. She then goes on to say she thinks it’s because she’s not providing the service right now and would text me when she starts back up. I said yes, please let me know! A few weeks went by and I decided to check her IG. When I went to my DMs and clicked on her profile, it said no posts yet, user not found. Meaning I was blocked. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable behavior for a business. Very disappointed. Do better!

She refused to give me an appointment because I’m a youtuber with a verified Instagram account with a large following and falsely accused me of being an undercover nail tech and a person who is just trying to learn how to do nails.. I told her I’m not a nail tech nor am I trying to learn how to do nails, I just wanted to get my nails done because I liked her work. She continued to reject me and keeps denying me an appointment. This has never happened to me and I’m honestly so disgusted with the service. It’s so unfair how she declined my appointments because of who I am. Machelle & Michael both were definitely a one of a kind experience! I liked the one on one feel and attention of it all. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and hospitality. Of course my nails are bomb but what keeps me returning is the customer experience I get as a whole. Did I say my nails are bomb too?!? Thank youuuuuu so much! Ive finally found my nail tech!

I got my nails done on 4/7/21 with Machelle and they turned out beautifully. I was very grateful because I had such a difficult time finding a nail tech with quality work in the area. Machelle and her husband were very nice to me and I initially left them a great review on their website. However, about a week later, I went to make an another appointment for a 3-week fill-in. I had no issue, paid my deposit, sent Machelle the design I wanted through Instagram. She read it, but never replied. I didnt think anything of it. I initially though maybe she was very busy. The following week, she cancelled my appointment via text message around 11pm at night, a very unprofessional time to text your customers. I replied back asking if it was a bad time and could I reschedule, she ignored my message. Again. Obviously, her lack of customer service and professionalism towards me was personal, Im not sure why as I am a very kind and nice person. Aside from this, the quality of sturdiness of my nails were poor. I have very healthy nail beds and after about 2 weeks after me getting a full set put on, my nails started to lift and shortly after they were coming off one by one. I have never had this issue before. I also noticed she uses super glue to glue your tips on which can very much damage your nail beds. Needless to say, Im highly disappointed in the way I was treated afterwards and the poor quality acrylic on my nails. I would not recommend.Update since response:I usually don’t do this but I feel people should know that you’re a liar. I don’t know who Jaz_herhouseofbeauty is, but ya know, it is possible for people to have the same name. Not everyone is out to get you. I work in a hospital, not a suite and I specifically expressed to you that I have been looking for a nail tech in the area because I have been staying with my spouse.For one, I had the funds available to pay you. I actually accidentally paid you twice because cashapp had a glitch so I paid through apple pay. Shortly after, you received a double payment in which you did refund me. YOU WERE PAID, promptly.Secondly, I am highly offended about your accusation about me not being a nurse. I have worked my butt off traveling from state to state, spending months away from my family, 12 hours in hot PPE, to help during this pandemic. I am PROUD to be a nurse, which is why it is incorporated in my Instagram name. Fun fact: you can just type my name in on the board of nursing website and see I hold an active license.Addressing the next appointment issue, I made an appointment for a 2 week fill in for 4/24. YOU told me that your clients typically don’t need a fill after 2 weeks but if I wanted to just do a color change, you would. You told me just to go ahead and pay the deposit so that the appointment confirms. I text you back saying, just to cancel that appointment, i would book for a week later (4/30), in which I did. This was on 4/13 that I rescheduled, not 4/28. You cancelled my appointment on 4/20. If I didn’t have the “funds available” as you say, why didn’t you cancel my initial appointment? Because, you’re lying. My nails had not started lifting at this point or I would have never tried to rebook you 🤷🏽‍♀️. Which brings me to the next lie. My nails are in top condition. I actually told you that I have not had my nails done in over a year due to the pandemic. You never told me about restoring my nails over 4-5 months, why? Because there was nothing to restore. I take care of my hair, skin and nails, despite not having my nails done for over a year. I asked for my nails to be shorter than what you usually post on Instagram because again, I am a nurse and I cannot have my nails breaking through gloves when caring for patients.I understand you felt the need to come on here and “defend” yourself and business, but you’re just a flat out liar and I have ALL the receipts to prove it. I’m glad I’ve seen your true colors, because you don’t deserve my hard earned money anyway.Take some accountability & learn from this.

I have been looking for a place like this for YEARS! I’m blown away by how wonderful Machelle and Michael were. They run a clean and gorgeous nail salon and the conversation was so wonderful. Machelle listened to all my nail “needs” and asked me to check my nails to make sure I like them (which I love!!) and was easy to talk to. Oh, they even custom made my acrylic color 😍 I love my nails and I cannot wait for my next appointment!

Love, love, love my nails. I’ve lived in Urbana for over five years. I have been getting my nails done at a couple different places here and in the area. I recently tried our new nail salon, Royal Couture and I’m so happy that I did. I do have to admit that the electronic booking, the by appointment only and colored acrylic instead of gel polish was all new for me. Once I arrived I noticed that the salon was clean, beautifully decorated and Machelle was very friendly. When she was done, my nail shape was on point, my design was exactly like the picture I sent her and the price I paid was very reasonable. I can truly say that I enjoyed the one-on-one personalized appointment and so far, I’m loving the colored acrylic. I have already told a bunch of my friends and I don’t think I will ever go back to the other “traditional” salons again.

Let me start by saying this is best nail salon in the Frederick/Urbana area! Very professional and very clean! The service I received was a dip manicure. The service was awesome!! I love the shape of my nails. No over filing or drilling no cuts and no reuse of products.

I attempted to get pricing for a set of nails I was looking for. When asked for pricing for awareness, the (I’m assuming) owner would not give me pricing for sets she has done previously. Any other nail technician I have been to in the past has been able to give pricing for previous sets. When I asked, they were very unprofessional and quite frankly rude for someone who was attempting to become a new client. It seemed as though they were under the impression I could not afford their pricing as their website explains their sets start at $70 and I was well aware of that. I do not recommend anyone to book if you are trying to gain an understanding of her costs of service. They are severely lacking in professionalism.

Ive been getting my nails for over 14 years and this was by far one of the best sets Ive gotten. The nails are smooth, the nail beds are even. One thing I am truly impressed with is, 2 of my natural nails had not broken and she was able to expertly sculpture them seamlessly to the rest of the set. The only factor left to be on the chopping block will be the durability hut I highly doubt these nails are going ANYWHERE!!! Thank you for your hospitality Machelle and Mike and the wonderful set. She then explains my options very thoroughly, and priced them up for me and we set the appointment. When I get there I have a one-on-one nail experience. like I am the center of attention there because its just me and all the focus is on me. The salon is clean and COVID-friendly. My nails looked better than the pictures I sent her and I couldnt be happier. I have found my forever nail home

My visit to Royal Couture was about a week ago. I specifically waited to review because it was a new salon and I wanted to see if my nails would last. I have been on vacation, and have gotten nothing but compliments about my nails. Happily, all 10 are still attached. The salon was very clean and they were very COVID-19 aware. Machelle throughly communicated with me before the appointment about my requests. The picture I sent to her is the exact picture I left with on my nails. I am new to the area and I will definitely be returning to Royal Couture.

They were so kind and precise to the photos that I sent! The place was super clean and they dont reuse any dip that they use on your hands! very sanitary! First of all let me say, this review is long, but it’s needed to express the good vibes I’m feeling about this salon. My family and I moved to Fredrick from Atlanta about a year ago. My mother has been taking me to get my nails done for as long as I can remember. I love my nails long and “blingy” while my mom prefers short and simple. We have both been going through withdrawal from the type and quality of nails done here from what we used to get back home. UNTIL NOW! Someone referred us to Royal Couture Nail Lounge and we are so happy. I sent Machelle a message telling her what I was looking for. She had me send her a couple pictures. She priced them up (very reasonable I must add). I made my deposit; which is pretty standard in the nail industry now, and made my appointment. (The fact that she had late evening appointments after 5pm was a plus). I was so happy when I arrived for my one-on-one appointment. There was no one waiting for me to get out of the chair, or anyone else for her to get up and go to. The Salon is beautiful! She has glitter, stones and everything to replicate nails that you would see on Instagram. I am overjoyed with my new salon find, and my mom loves it also. We are here to stay!

Machelle and Michael are amazing! Their salon is one on one service and theyre practicing safe/sterile protocols for covid. I havent had my nails done since the pandemic hit, but I felt completely safe in their space. Machelle is meticulous. Shaping, dip color (single use) and art are flawless. Single use files, buffers, and dip color. She worked with me and graciously extended her hours to accommodate my schedule. I wanted my nails done before seeing my family. Contactless payment. Easy online booking. Highly recommend!

I was on the hunt for someone who could give me fancy, “Instagram nails” in the Frederick area and I came across Royal Couture’s profile on IG. Loved what I saw in the photos so I scheduled an appointment and there was availability the next day. Booking process was quick and easy. Small deposit required (which is standard for most high end salons). When I walked in for my appointment they were friendly, clean and covid compliant. I was thrilled and relieved when I saw all the glitter, decals, nail tip options and color choices. Seriously been looking for a place like this for months and I think I found my new nail home. The nails were exactly what I wanted.UPDATE: nails last a long time however the acrylic was too thin for my long nails so I had 2 nails break halfway down my nail bed exposing my nail beds and making it sore to the touch. Very painful. I asked her to build up the acrylic at the apex to avoid this but...If you’re looking for her to do your long nails, insist that she build up the acrylic.UPDATE #2: “Royal” Couture owner has no couthe, or customer service skills. She takes offense to constructive criticism and never once contacted me to see if I was ok or to ask how she can help with the injured nails she caused. Instead she went on a rant on social media to bash me.While getting my nails done she also told me some stories about her anger issues. She is in litigation. She also told me she tracked down a nail tech from her photos on IG! Took 3 days of her and her husband driving around Maryland to find some nail tech who wrote a bad review. The woman is seriously mental.

She is the bomb!! All I know is that I wanted Barbie theme Nails and she delivered!! She and her husband are an amazing team.

This is the best nail salon I have been too I had a situation from another nail shop before in that they did a horrible job, but I came here and they helped me out and did a great job and they made me feel welcome. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try and I know y’all will love it and will go back every time. They now have a customer FOREVER.

I was recommended by a friend that goes to Machell . Ive been looking for someone to do my nails for the longest time. All other places Ive been to, only do gel and really are awful with acrylic nails. When I met Machelle, she was amazing! Her work is out of this world! Best nail salon in Frederick! Machelle uses quality top of the line products. I strictly do dip nails and I’m able to keep my natural nails long and strong. My previous experience with dip it broke off, and my nails chipped off as well. Every idea I have for my nails Machelle has nailed it!

Machelle is AMAZING. She always works with your ideas and transforms them into a BEAUTIFUL set of nails. Working in healthcare, it’s so challenging trying to find nail color and design that actually stays on. The dip manicure stays on for 3 weeks and stays just as cute as day 1.
