The Brothers “Technician” showed up at my home and spent no more than five minutes “evaluating” my furnace/AC unit. He then informed me that based on his “expert” opinion, it would be (at least) a $1300 repair.He let me know that he didn’t have the necessary parts required to do the repair in his truck, but assured me that he’d have them within a couple days.I asked him to hold off on the order, as I wanted to seek additional bids.Within the same couple days, I had the job done (in a very satisfactory and timely manner) by Southport Home Services in Caledonia WI, for $350.00.A SAVINGS of $950.00.When I received a $95.00 bill from Brothers Consolidated for a “diagnostic” visit, I called their billing department and explained that I was surprised when a call actually intended to render a (completely RIDICULOUS) quote would be subject to a “service” charge of $95.I explained that in light of the minimal time involved, that there was nothing “diagnostic” about it. The so called “technician” was clearly nothing more than a guy who drove around all day providing outrageous quotes, hoping that if he threw enough against the wall, something might stick!I went on to explain that I could get lots of idiot quotes for free…but then of course I was threatened with “being turned over to a collection service” so…today I mailed these terrible business people a check.Maybe I should be grateful that it only cost me $95.00 to pay for the worst experience I’ve had dealing with a service provider in years…but I certainly don’t feel grateful!!On the contrary!! I fully expected people in this part of the country to take greater pride in the way they conduct their business affairs, and the way they treat potential customers.Disappointed with Brothers Consolidated would be a huge understatement.I can’t imagine being LESS INCLINED TO RECOMMEND a company, for any type of service having to do with heating or air-conditioning.Richard CoatesMount Pleasant, WI

I used Consolidated Heating & Air Conditioning for many years. They were dependable, fairly priced and their work was satisfactory. Since being purchased by tow brothers, it has simply become a money grab. I had them come to look at a boiler to give me a quote on replacement in October of 2020. They did no work as the unit was off and not functioning. I called four other contractors to get comparative quotes for the replacement of the boiler, they were Hartlaub, Thielmann, Schoof Heating and Donovan & Jorgenson. I had estimates from all four of them within 24 hours and Schoof did the service the very next day. Brothers Consolidated took over a week just to get me their quote. I could not go a whole week without heat. In late March 2021 Brothers Consolidated sent me a bill for $100 as service charge for the privilege of giving me a quote! No other HVAC company billed me for a quote. I am holding my nose any paying the money, but I will never use this company again and will share my experience with anyone I know who may need HVAC service. Why would they alienate someone who used their services for years. It is a total culture change with the new ownership. Beware.
My mother used Brothers Consolidated for the new furnace and AC unit in the home I now live in.When I wanted to have the system checked out for the coming winter and to see if the humidifier was still in working condition, there was no question.They took excellent care of my moms needs and now with the service I received this week, myself as well.Logan was an excellent technician and I am satisfied that my system is working.Thank you,
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this company. In the middle of August our a/c was not blowing cold air. One of their service techs came on a Wednesday and said that he didnt see anything wrong and just added more frion. That didnt work so I called a few times on Saturday and sent an email as well. Keep in mind that Brothers promises emergency service and after hours service. This is a complete lie. I called and left messages (when I could) and no one returned my call. Also their voice mailbox was full on other lines so i couldnt even leave a message. I had to go to their location first thing Monday morning to ask them for help. They said they had issues with Spectrum phone lines as the reason they couldnt answer calls. They were able to check the a/c on Monday and said i needed a new a/c unit (5k cost) - this is a completely different approach from the previous Wednesday. Fortunately, they were able to install it the same day. Bare in mind this was the hottest time of the year. They install the new unit and the motor keeps turning on/off every 15 seconds. Of course, no one is available after hours so i have to wait the following day. When i talked to the service guy the next day, he was very arrogant and said that it takes a while for a new unit to cool a hot house but he will do a courtesy call to walk me through the process in a condescending tone. He comes the next day and finds out that one of the lines wasnt welded properly. He fixed the BRAND NEW INSTALLED UNIT and is very apologetic. I asked him to get me in touch with the owner to share my experience and he said he would. I followed up with a few emails to the company asking to talk to the owner - no response. To be fair, maybe some of this was really bad luck. But the arrogance from this company was brutal.
Service tech was friendly, courteous and helped us understand what we could do to help keep our system running well. I reconmend Brother Consolidated without reservation. Reasonably priced too.
Guys came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. Fix was done the next day after they got the part. Really friendly and helpful.
Tim, especially, is an excellent representative for the company. Even though he was here for only minor maintenance this time, he exceeded expectations.
We used Consolidated for years. The last time we used them unbeknownst to us the company was sold but kept the name.Two men came to repair our hot water heater. After a short time they said it was fixed and left. 2 hours later we were out of hot water again.My husband came home and saw that the bottom of the hot water heater had rusted out. They never even saw that. In other words they did nothing and charged us over $300.00!!!!For the 1st time in my life I did a stop check in them and have been fighting with them ever since!My husband replaced the hot weather heater himself.
I was quoted $160 to come out to diagnose an emergency issue with my furnace. The guy said it wouldn’t even start after he was messing with it. It turns out he turned the thermostat off. There are definitely some issues with my furnace, but he didn’t diagnose the reason I called. He then charged me $220 and another fee showed up on my card. He told me I needed a new furnace and quoted me double to triple what other companies have quoted. I had to dispute charges with my credit card company. The manager was not helpful. SCAM
I had a problem this winter with the Boiler that was installed byConsolidated Heat several years ago. I have use Consolidated for as long as I can remember. They installed both the new Boiler and the A/C.BUT, THAT WAS THE OLD ORIGINAL OWNERS. I didnt do my homework as I thought I knew the company. They had been here many times over the 35 years in the house. MY MISTAKE.....COMPANY WAS SOLD AND THERE ARE NEW UNPROFESSIONAL OWNERS LICENSED TO STEAL. They arrived on time, we talked about the problem and the service tec took the front off the boiler telling me there are a lot of problems with these units suggesting it may need a new burner or more. He did not address the real problem he was there for until I ask again. Then he decided what the problem was, said I dont have the parts, they will need to be ordered, Let me get you a quote. Gave me a quote in Excess of $800. I know the part in question at this inspection is $250/$325 if I buy it. Quote included a another part $25, cleaning and inspection of the entire unit. We agreed and he said I will order the part and the off will give you a call next week and Ill be back. I wrote him a check for $85 service call. He took the money and ran!A week, NO CALL. Ten days, NO CALL.. I call, no answer, no voicemail, nothing, Two weeks, NO CALL. I call leave a message with a women, NO CALL BACK. I look on line and discovered the company was sold and i now know I am screwed. They already have poor reviews all over the internet. Lesson learned, always double check.I called a family owned company in the business over 50 years in the area after having two friends recommended them and checking on line to fine all great reviews. Make an appointment a week out. It sucks that I have to pay a second service call but at least it is to a company who knows what they are doing and how to treat customers. I get a call later in the day and they say they have a Service Tec south of me who is done for the day and can be at my house in 20 minutes. He shows up and spends 15 minutes with tools and gauges inspecting everything. Then he explains what the problem is but, will have to fix the problem and then turn the system on just to make sure nothing else. He states he is 99% sure this is THE FIX. He gives me a quote for the repair, cleaning, inspection of the entire unit, labor, parts, service call fee all inclusive. The quote is 27% of what I was quoted buy Brothers Consolidated Heating & Air and Crooks. Yes that is correct 1/4 of the quote from Consolidated, almost 75% off !! He says I have all the parts on the truck. Comes back in and says I am missing one part I need. Says he can get it and be back in 30/40 minutes. He leaves, gets part, returns, does repair, fires system, everything working. Checks Air unit out side, adds some insulation to the pipe, NO CHARGE. I write the check and he is gone and I saved hundreds of dollars because Consolidated is to unprofessional to even follow up on work they quote. I may have lost $85 to the thieves who own the company now but I will never lose another dollar to them and hoping if you read this you take a pass and find a reputable company to work with as there are nothing but crooks here. I would name the company who did the work but I dont want there name even associated with this company in any way. BUYER BEWARE.....BUYER BEWARE.....BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Unlike Gross Heating which, with limited diagnostics, told me I needed a complete new AC unit, Brothers came by, diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. It was great service with honesty and integrity.

Great service and great responsiveness! We have been using Brothers Consolidated for years. Once our ancient oil furnace finally died, Brothers was the only place we would trust. They installed a new system that is beyond fantastic. Love the responsiveness and the attention to detail. They always take care of us, even on short notice. I continue to recommend Brothers to everyone.

Great response time, fast repair of furnace draft blower. Only thing I didnt like was the price of the part. They charged $600 for a part that I could have bought for $150 online, but when youre in pinch I guess you pay for the great service??
Tim was very pleasant and efficient. He explained everything to me. He was able to clean and tune up my older furnace. I am going to ask for him in Spring when my central air needs cleaning, etc. Wonderful tech and very reasonable prices. This will be my go-to business in the future!

Jay has been our service man for several years now. He is always upbeat, friendly, really knows his stuff. Also Jay is able to service our barn propane furnace which is not a common type of furnace. I highly recommend him.
Tim is professional. He knows the A/C system he tuned up, was pleasant to deal with, used his time efficiently, and was effective at mentoring the apprentice who accompanied him on the service call. The real-time invoicing and e-mailing the receipt to me via his tablet was efficient and welcome.
