This is the most abysmal excuse for an internet company that I have ever been forced to work with since they are the ONLY option. They have no customer service, it takes you 45 minutes to get a representative on the line & when you finally do - youve got to argue every detail of your life to even bring up your account. If you schedule an appointment - plan on being at your home from 8am-9pm because they NEVER come at the given time. And if they even arrive (which is 50/50), they will charge you $100 for the appointment if they cant find a problem - LIKE YOU MADE IT UP. We have been tracking the internet and it is only about 5 hours cumulative that we receive per day amid the blackouts. I cant believe that you have to get a single star as this company deserves ZERO STARS. Seriously figure out how to be a better company because you provide an invaluable service.
Horrible reliability / quality of service. Even worse customer service. Everything about Century Link is an absolute train wreck.
Havent really had issues in the past but our DSL connection was having issues and they needed to send a technician out. I didnt get a call that someone was here and they just disconnected the internet without letting me know. I work from home and it was extremely inconvenient, I expect someone to let me know before just coming on my property and disconnecting my internet. Then the technician left and I was without internet for several hours before he returned and fixed it. super unprofessional
Century link is awesome! Super helpful
#centurylink has the worst customer service! Seriously, do real people work for them anymore? Al I get is a robot. I have been on hold an hour.
The absolute worst. If you suspect they are overcharging you then they absolutely are! Disputes every single bill, they overcharged my parents account by over $30 a month for a whole year. If they’re smart they would much rather reimburse your money than fight you in a lawsuit for fraudulent charges.
Our internet is down, after calling several times and having them hang up on me repeatedly, the automation finally said the internet is down in our region for a few days (for no good reason, it’s a beautiful sunny day). They say repair support is available but won’t put me through, and the website it says to visit won’t let me access it because it’s “forbidden”.Pretty terrible support on top of pretty terrible service, when we have it at all that is.
Almost got run off the road because a CenturyLink driver decided to swerve into my lane on I25. Thankfully some of us pay attention so CenturyLinks lack thereof isnt as bad as it could be.Please, spend some time teaching the person driving van 2137050, license plate 700-XFJ, how to drive in a safe manner. Maybe he just doesnt know how to pull the trailer you have on his van.Regardless, anyone tempted to go with CenturyLink would be better of getting 2 tin cups and a string over supporting a company that hires people who put the rest of us in danger.
The chat links on their webpages do not work from a computer, and trying to get in touch with anyone on the phone is next to impossible (Ive been waiting over an hour to talk with someone). Then, when I get on the phone with them, they have no clue how networks work. If you have the option of ANY other high-speed internet, definitely take it.
Do you like being transferred between departments constantly? Do you like your calls not being returned? Do you like rude chat service agents? Do you want to be given false information, resulting in no internet for a week? Do you want to spend hours on the phone to finally find one helpful person only to be told you cannot contact them anymore? Then CenturyLink is the company for you.
Had to pay $100 fee to start service. Told I must rent a modem through Centurylink: not true, bought one online. Started new service: asked three times not be sent a modem. They sent a modem. Called to return modem: told I would be sent an email in 3-5 days (?) with a return slip. Never sent the email.
If I could give zero stars I would. This is absolutely the worst internet I have ever experienced, and is absolutely the most horrendous customer service I have ever experienced.Choose ANYONE else for your internet and phone needs, this company does not care about customers, or integrity, at all.
In hold for support for 30 minutes. Gig fiber service issues first week having it, dropping connection. Xfinity is outrageously expensive, but at least their service is second to none and I had no issues for years. Will see how things go after getting a replacement modem, but not off to a good start.CenturyLink if you are reading this get your act together.
Tl;dr version: the customer service representatives Ive spoken to are polite enough, but theyre really bad listeners and worse at following through on anything besides flipping a switch to turn on service to my home.Long version: Despite all the bad reviews we thought wed give them a chance because the price was good. Heres a timeline of events:-We called early in the week and requested service. We said we could set everything up ourselves but we needed equipment. They said it would arrive before that Friday at noon and service would start that day.-Friday at noon, no equipment had arrived. We called to find out what was up. They had no record of a request for equipment, but had started service. We decided (given other reviews) that theyd screwed up their one chance for a good start with us and told them to cancel service.-Roughly 2 weeks later we get a bill for just over $50 for a month of service. I call to find out whats up, they have a record of our previous calls, but no record we had cancelled our service. I get passed to another department (and have to give all the account info and explain why Im calling again because that wasnt passed on). The guy asks if I got service through someone else and I say yes. He replies (more or less word for word) well what I can do is get the equipment sent out, itll be there Monday, and we can reset the start of service date. I said you dont seem to understand why Im calling. I want the service and bill cancelled like we requested previously. I also asked that a note be put on the account that the company overall really needs to work on their account notes. And thats where we stand today. In theory our service that we never got to use has now been cancelled, and I have a cancellation confirmation #, but all things considered Im not holding my breath that the final statement thats being sent is going to be correct.CenturyLink- you really need to get things figured out. Youre killing your own company with your poor service. I really dont feel like I was expecting a lot here. No special treatment, nothing above and beyond, just equipment, service, and prompt shutoff. And somehow you disappointed.
Ill sound like a broken record repeating the same things that others have mentioned, but...the service is abysmal. Tech supposed to arrive at certain time, doesnt communicate, calls to customer service keep assuring tech will call and arrive, never happens. Ive been through two days so far when a tech is supposed to have arrived between 9 and 1 and they keep rescheduling to another day. People have to take time off from work to be home for a tech...should we be billing CenturyLink for our lost wages? Im going to contact my State reps to see if something can be done. My other option for an internet provider (Hotwire) where Im located is equally as bad, so quite frustrated, to say the least.
Century link does not exist here, it is Dollar Tree and it has been for 6 years!! I only gave it a star so i could write a comment to let people know....people get upset because they come in here all of the time looking for century link because the people that work at century link send them here but when you google century link it shows dollar tree....century link please update your website because you are sending people to a location that does not exist!!
I warn you...NEVER work with CenturyLink. Horrible customer service. Extremely long wait times and rude help desk. I was forced to pay $75 fee to keep my phone number when I transferred service providers. I believe this is illegal but I don’t have the time, energy or resources to fight this in a lawsuit.
Spent 2 hour trying to cancel my service. Tony and Arthur are completely unprofessional. Service didnt work most of the time, and had techs out mutable times and it still didnt help. We are being transferred to North Dakota where they DONT have service and we have to pay 200.00 termination fee. CenturyLink SUCKS
There are so many problems with this company I dont even know where to start. If I could give them negative stars I would give them -1 billionHere are the main issues:#1) I was charged $10/month to lease equipment that I already purchased for at least 5 years. When I discovered this, I could not resolve the issue because I kept having to talk to employees in another country who couldnt understand what I was saying. I finally cancelled and at that point I talked to someone in the US who resolved it.#2) Before it was resolved, Century Link/DirectTV kept sending me boxes to return the nonexistent equipment and kept threatening me that I was going to be charged up to $99 for the equipment.#3) Now I am dealing with trying to transfer my service to a new home owner (we sold our home) and they cant get it figured out. When I try to resolve the issue, I get someone in another country who cannot understand my issue. Typically they hang up on me or transfer me to a dead end and I have to start explaining all over again. When I ask to speak to a supervisor, they refuse.I have noticed that as long as you are doing new service or add-on, you get a very nice and professional customer service person in the US. After that, good luck ever resolving anything ever again. I would rather pull out my own teeth than talk to Century Link and yet, I know their phone number by heart because I have had to call them so many times.Century Link is THE WORST US company and I feel sorry for any people in other countries that work for them. I suspect their employees in other countries are exploited. They are shameful and criminal. I will never do business with Century Link or any company associated with them ever again.
Horrible ISP. There is no Fort Collins office! But both Google AND their own store locater says there is.They shipped me out a modem, which was fine. But, they did not install a dish on the house, so there was no way for me to use this service. This was after I told them I was out in the country, and had no phone lines or dish.
Horrible customer service- dont even bother calling. Ive been over charged and cant get reinbursed for their mistake. Using the online chat tool is more efficient than actually calling in.
Century Link has some of the lowest quality cutover service and business integrity that I have ever experienced as a customer. If you want to get ripped off by your internet and television provider - Century Link is perfect for you!
Please save your time and sanity. This company not only has awful internet/WiFi services, their customer service is a joke. You will receive a different priced bill every month, and when you call to disconnect services they will not only refuse to shut them off, they will continue to bill you (double your original agreed amount). Do NOT trust this company.
Worst!!!! Most horrific customer service I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I am not a fan of Xfinity, but I switched back after being lied to, hung up on, & spent literally hours on the phone being transfered to various departments with no help. I am reporting my experience with the FCC and Consumer Affairs. I was overcharged by hundreds of dollars for a terrible service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!
Century link is one of the worst companies I ever dealt with. I question the legality of their practices but I think they’re just really good at exploiting loopholes and remaining in gray areas to avoid fraud and theft charges. We had to cancel our services three times after being with them because they were still charging us even after we cancelled... outrageous. This company’s customer service took us many calls all hours long just to do something as simple as cancel, they really try to stretch every dollar out of you at no concern to customer at all. And not to mention their internet crashed on me multiple times a day even with their “high speed” plan... so much for high speed. Century link should change their ways or go out of business. It’s a literally scam and if you’re using this company, consider switching when you have a chance... seriously, even Comcast is better even tho still mediocre. DONT USE CENTURY LINK!
Setting up services was a nightmare, customer service was bad over the phone, and the first appointment they cancelled after I waited at home all day. The next appointment was 2 weeks later and the tech was rude and took a very long time. Then they set me up with 2 accounts somehow and cannot figure out how to cancel the extra account.
Slow, unusable internet that drops out completely on a regular basis. Company will promise and charge you for service they know they cannot provide. Not a fan of Comcast but Xfinity lets me do my school work and watch Netflix.
Internet consistently uber slow or cuts out completely. Have complained about equipment which, when we pick up to reset plugs, cuts out completely even when talking to their technician on the phone. But they insist it is not their equipment. Tried to email complainit, but, oh, their website is having difficulties; try again later response. GRRRRR. Local City Broadband is looking better and better . . .
Store is CLOSED! Dont waste your time. All their retail locations are CLOSED . The last thing they want is to be confronted by their angry clientele. Comcast here I come baby.
WAY more of a hassle than it is worth. Just get Xfinity.
Necessary for different parts of the state. Not necessarily the best in service
Extremely poor service for both internet and phone. If you have the option do NOT use this company for your internet or phone service.I have to use this company because it is the only authorized provider in my neighborhood. I would give them no stars if that was an option. I have had them as my provider for 13 months and had to put in service requests on average of 2 times a month, and still dont get reliable service.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I can not state this infatically enough.I have paid my bills on time or early every month and do NOT get the service I am paying for. I am suppose to get 20Mbps and the speed test is consistently around 8Mbps.They dont/wont even give you credit for when you dont have service for days. When you tell them it is a constant recurring problem they dont respond.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I too spent more than an hour on the phone.Poor customer service.Charged for services not used. Customer loyalty not valued after 3 months in to second year.most often repeated phrases in between long holds the system wont let me...the system invalidated....Im sorry..long lines...not good for business.
Absolutely awful. They dont keep their contract agreement on internet speed. My present UPGRATED speed is 1.7 Mbps which suppose to be at least 12 Mbps according to the contract. And there is no help from tech support.
Worst company ever. Rude, incompetent, late. Cant even fix problems that are entirely theirs. Ridiculous...
Don’t use century link autopay will withdraw from your account even when canceled. Bad customer service. With century link the costumer is always wrong.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! If 0 stars were possible, thats what Id give. This isnt a local problem, its CenturyLink as a national company. Theyre AWFUL. We switched after terrible experiences with Comcast but now were hoping to avoid both Comcast and CenturyLink for the rest of our lives. Their systems seem wholly incompetent or rigged against the consumer. Customer service is well trained in deescalation but can do nothing to actually resolve issues. After ending our service CenturyLink sent us a pre-paid label to return the modem. We boxed the modem up, attached the label from CenturyLink, and dropped it off at UPS. Over a month later we received a bill for $107.29 for an unreturned modem. Customer service says they cant help us without a tracking number. Since they made the shipping label, youd think they would have a tracking number but they dont. I didnt save the other half of the shipping label, it had been over a month. There is no recourse, there is no dispute option. We can either pay the bill for a modem we dont have or get sent to collections.I spent over an hour being transferred from department to department trying to resolve this issue. I was continually put on hold and then told that their department wasnt able to access information or otherwise help me, but theyd be happy to transfer the call to someone else. After over an hour of this I was talking to my third (fourth?) representative when we got disconnected. Although I had provided my phone number 3 times during the call (just in case) they didnt call me back. The consumer has no power to fight unfair practices. We will never do business with CenturyLink again and we will do our best to hep friends avoid their corrupt practices as well.
They were ok for a year with 40 meg service. I never really had an issue with them until I upgraded. As soon as my promotions were ending they only gave me an option to spend 20 extra dollars a month for 80 meg service. From this point forward I can’t even get above 5 megabytes/sec. I can’t load any videos without having to wait obscene amounts of time. Customer service claims to fix issue, They keep telling me to keep runing speed tests with only 1 device connected, and re-apply power to router after 15 seconds of it disconnected. Called them 10+times within a month, almost always get someone I can barely understand. If I was able to i would upload a picture of my past Speedtests, I would. I normally have a great deal of patience, but have lost it with CenturyLink...
I am a very patient guy and its rare that I give up on a business, but my experience with CenturyLink was none other than the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a service provider. The list of problems is too long to document here, but a quick summary includes daily drops of internet connectivity for 5 to 30 minutes of each drop, slower speeds than I paid for, tech suppoprt unable to identify most of the drops in service (and certainly they were not able to sovle the problem), double charging for service, charging an early terminiation fee inspite of attempting to work through these problems with them for 6 months, etc. Its amazing to me that CenturyLink stays in business with such poor technical and customer service and from what I can see of their ratings on the internet lots of their customers have been very unsatisfied with their service.
Called support to get PPP password for modem and accidentally called sales instead of IT support. when the agent discovered the mistake she asked me if I wanted to add TV to my plan. I said no and she then very quickly told me check the bottom of the router and immediately hung up on me. finally called IT, wait 20 so minuets and after giving all my information am told that because I have fiber optic that they cant help me and will need to be transferred again. finally get a hold of a pretty chill dude who proceeds to tell me the password and finally solves my problem. internet works amazingly now. not much hatred in terms of the product but customer service is what really seems to kill this companies reviews. Get century link if you know how to troubleshoot your own hardware and internet otherwise your in for a hard time.
I have been having issues with CenturyLink every month. They are the worst company ever. I cant get rid of them because of the apartment complex has a contract with CenturyLink and they dont care about their residents. DO NOT EVER GET CENTURYLINK
I get faster internet with less interruptions when using my cell phone as a hotspot. These guys suck
They didnt notify their customers of scheduled maintenance that disabled internet and phone lines for an entire day. Terrible service. Unfortunately, they are the only option in my area, so Im stuck with this miserable service.EDIT: Also had a chat representative disconnect when I asked for an explanation of lack of service. We need negative stars for companies like this.
After lying to me about my speed, twice, and constant daily outages that make streaming and gaming impossible for an entire year contract, I can say that centurylink is the worst internet service ive experienced in my entire life.
I will always give CenturyLink 0 stars. DO NOT USE THEIR COMPANY UNDER ANY COSTS!!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service. Im constantly fighting them on bills. CENTURYLINK IS LITERALLY THE WORST COMPANY!!
Worst company ever. Were going back to comcast.
Been trying to download star wars Jedi fallen order, in the past 3 days its only downloaded 2% of the game
This company is pathetic and infuriating. They have lost my order twice in 2 weeks. Like literally.
This company is so bad, I hope a ghost haunts ever branch for how bad there internet and service is, no wonder Comcast runs everything you guys are the exact equivalent of a piece of trash do not EVER join this Company.
Returned modem - charged three months later because they cant find it in the warehouse? Bush league - $108 thanks for nothing you hack of a company
The reviews are true. just terrible customer service. they dont care. corporate america at its finest. so glad i finally cancelled.
The fort collins office location moved years ago.....but no one has fixed the web site yet!!!!
Horrible service. On line and on the phone.
Pathetic, very poor customer service
We had this service because it was the only service available at our location, not because we wanted to be with them. When other service with another company became available and I called to cancel the service the customer service tech was beyond rude and even told me to stop talking. This is not how customer service is done. I am beyond taken aback by how rude they are.
POS company. Constantly raising rates with no raise in service. They just slapped $100 on my bill this month with no explanation. If you have any other choice at all, DONT USE THIS COMPANY.
There is not a good line of communication between customer, and support.
The worst customer service I ever had . Bad bad bad bad bad company please stay away
This is the wrong address there is no Century link in this area...
There is no Century Link located here.
Sometimes the service itself is intermittent
These guys are worse then tds and said they sent out a technician twice and obviously they didnt so far 1 week and a half without internet I cant wait til xfinitey gets out here
