Love the place! I always wait until my hair really bugs me before I go somewhere to get it cut. And it usually takes a couple weeks or more to get into the nice places, of course. But I called Hoshalls and the nice male receptionist got me in for a cut the very next day. I met Kitty and she took such great care of me and my messy hair. She is so sweet and she gave me a really great bob haircut. Already scheduled my next appointment, which is so unlike me!

Summer is wonderful! She took her time to get everything cut to perfection. She frequently checked with me to make sure the length, layers, and bangs were what I envisioned (since Im an introvert and dont always speak up in an appointment, I especially appreciated this). You will love your experience here.Also, they have very mindful distance and sanitation procedures to keep covid-free.

I came in for an appointment for a full highlight. After showing what I wanted done to the stylist I was scheduled with, she was very honest with me and told me another stylist would be of better fit to give me the result I was looking for.I really appreciate her honesty and she handed me over to Katie. She did an amazing job with my hair! I was very comfortable with her decisions and will continue my business with her!To me it is all about establishing trust with your customers. These girls did just that! I highly recommend coming here to get your hair done.

I have naturally tight curls and was a little nervous to have my hair cut but Saul (I think was his name lol sorry!) did a great job at giving me what I wanted! I showed him two different styles for reference photos and he went with the style that he said best suited my features. He was absolutely right! My hair has so much volume now and I will definitely be coming back for my hair to be maintained! Not to mention the unbeatable prices haha.

Very disappointed when I arrived, only to see that their receptionist had mischeduled me. I was looking forward to a haircut and balayage, since due to COVID-19 I havent been able to do my hair in a while. What a waste of my time and my morning heading down to this salon. I was not only looking forward to the experience, as advertised on their website, but ready to spend a few hundred dollars on my hair, products, and sign up for their monthly membership. I will not be returning to this salon or recommending them to my friends.

Ive been going to Hoshalls for years for various services, but usually skin services including waxing. Sara is my go to girl, shes very professional, however, over the years, shes become a friend that we look forward to seeing (my daughter and I go together). She just does a great job whether its as simple as wax or a full facial. Ive used other services, as well, massage, hair, etc. and pleased with all. The owners, managers and front desk team are warm and friendly.

BEST MASSAGES I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I love this place and I have been all over for massages. My most recent masseuse was Lisa, but honestly I have had others and they have all been amazing. I have never had a bad massage here. I feel so relaxed and amazing when I am done. They cater to all the details: Lisa put feet warmers on my feet (and asked if they were not too hot); she asked me about aromatherapy, which I love and so she used it; she didnt talk too much and recognized that I dont like to talk during my massage; she made sure I was OK with the level of pressure she was using; I was not prepared for their new tipping rules (you CANNOT use a credit card to tip anymore) and she was reassuring that if I couldnt leave a tip this time it was ok... which of course made me make sure to go get cash for her tip!!; the massage itself was perfect, I was so relaxed and happy when I left... I felt like I was walking on Cloud 9! Thank you Hoshalls!!!

I did not have a good experience getting my hair done for the first time. The stylist did not listen at all. I am praying over the next couple of days there is no damage to my hair. I came straight home and washed my hair out to try and save it from her putting too much product on my hair and flat ironing it on high heat on top of that. My hair was smoking. I told her it was too much product on my hair and my hair doesnt need high heat. I justed wanted a dry cut and she said she had to flatiron it to do that. I should have gotten up and walked out. I could never get my hair done there again. I was traumatized. Still am. On top of that I asked here if she felt comfortable and capable of cutting my hair dry and she said yes I have alot of experience. I am still traumatized that I couldnt hardly sleep just thinking about the experience.

I did not get the haircut which I showed them. So little disappointed.

Great massage & spa place!! The place is very well kept, soothing music and the employees are sooooo nice. I got a swedish massage and felt so much better after. Just make sure to hydrate before and after.

My boyfriend and I both went for our post COVID haircut. I got to Hoshalls because the week prior I was at a bar in downtown Sacramento and the bartenders hair was so nice and had a great cut my friend and I asked here where she went and she told us Hoshalls in Folsom. Well, I live just south of Oakland... I called made two appointments and we drove back up 2 hours one way about a week and a half after. And let me tell you, I have no regrets. The service was great from arrival to departure. I got a color/cut/style and he got a cut and shampoo. The tab even came out to less than what I was expecting (this is likely due to the 20% discount that was being offered at the time). Anyway, everything was great. I felt the were COVID conscious and we will be going back again maybe every 6 months of so (Id go every quarter of it wasnt such a schlep). Also I want to note that for my entire 30 years of life, my moms friend has been doing my hair and this was my first outsider experience and I loved it!

Best salon ever! I have had my hair done by many different stylists and Ive never had a bad experience. You feel so pampered everytime I go. But I have to say, Michelle Tibbetts is my favorite stylist. But you cant go wrong with any stylist. And while youre there get a spa treatment and make use of the steam shower. It is so relaxing.

I love this place! The fact that you can choose what level of hairstyles you want is brilliant!

Hoshalls is in a caliber of its own! The service and atmosphere is just incredible, and the prices are reasonable and about the same as other salons! It started here for my severe ingrown nails on my feet done right by Anna. She made something that may be painful relaxing and soothing. Today complimenting the nail trimming and cleaning, yet another member of the team here is Daniel. He was able to successfully cut my hair in a presentable fashion. In my case my scar appears to be the shape of the Moon 🌛! Hoshalls has met two of my needs with great team members who are super kind!

I moved to Sacramento years ago and I found Hoshalls and now I have come back to the Salon and found a great stylist named Taylor. I have very fine hair and she helps my hair look full.I love my hair and my reminder for my Appts.

Went all the way up to Folsom on a recommendation of a coworker that Matt did great haircuts. My haircut is terrible he DID NOT blend the sides of my cut, which is supposed to be a Pixie. Now I have to go and it fixed. Not impressed.

This is the most upscale chic salon in Folsom. The nail and hair facilities are quite busy but go back into the massage area and its all about a calm soothing quiet atmosphere. They have not missed a step from the lighting and music to the scent diffusers, quality robes, and spa attendants. You can try out their dry sauna, get a spectacular massage, and theyll even get you lunch from one of the surrounding eateries. You can eat out on the private balcony overlooking one of Folsoms greenbelt area. I would have given another star but I felt like the facial was pretty rough. Im not an expert but after a relaxing massage I was tense all over again and feeling a bit like I was being smothered, she used some tool that was shockingly painful and part of the treatment burned pretty bad. I will definitely be back for another spa day... But Ill skip the facial.

Rebecca is AWESOME!! My hair was a bit over processed and my old stylist was not cutting it. I had a consultation with Rebecca to see what, if anything, could be done to repair my hair. She educated me with a lot of information that my former stylist never took the time to go over with me. She was slightly overbooked on the day of my appointment, but she remained calm and professional during the entire process. Never made me feel like she didnt want to be taking so much time with my hair and didnt cut any corners to accommodate everyone. She was very organized, juggling myself and her other clients with her assistant. Overall, my color and haircut was fabulous and I will definitely be going back.

I spent my Birthday at Hoshalls Spa yesterday and it was an absolute dream. The atmosphere was perfect. The salon was welcoming and the spa was so quiet and relaxing. They blended so beautifully together. My spa package included.. Massage. Facial. Sauna. Steam shower. Peaceful, delicious lunch on the balcony. Mani and Pedi. There isnt anything like it in the area. Went here for the first time last week on a recommendation from my sister. The staff was pleasant but to be honest I wasnt really happy with the cut and blow I got. I explained exactly what I wanted to the stylist but she cut off way too much. Thought the prices were a little high too.

Im extremely disappointed in the customer service I received today at hoshalls located in folsom. I went in two weeks ago to get a haircut and color to cover my grey. All she did was color the roots and the haircut I got made me look like a mushroom. I called in about it and was told to leave a message; I had to call back since I never heard anything. I was told that they could redo both since it was within two weeks. I came in today and was told I had to do permanent color because my hair was being resistant to the tinting. But the hairstylist never even did my entire head in the first place so alot from under never even got touched!! I also happened to have temp pink chalk color in my hair when I went in today and the hairstylist who would work on me, pepper, said no worries about it. But then TJ (or CJ?) came over since she saw me from last time, to discuss the need of permanent coloring and that I had to wait to wash out the chalk. I get having to wait til it washes out but I asked if I had to pay if I came in again once I wash it out. She just kept saying chalk may take multiple times to wash out so they can probably give a discount. But the previous hairstylist never even covered all the grey in the first place!!! And how can she assume it wont wash out right away? We kept going in circles so I asked to speak with someone else who just came to tell me they dont feel comfortable in doing the service because we arent on the same page about maintenance (?????), and the owner can call me. What kind of customer service is that??? I understand maintenance... my concern was that it wasnt resisting because most of it was still covered at the roots where she applied it, but no color was applied throughout the head. In the end I was willing to do perm. color; I just want to get what I paid for, and not pay twice for it. I cant believe I paid $90 for their service when she never even colored all the grey in the first place, and Im left with a horrible looking haircut. I wouldnt even give them 1 star, but have to. Peppers attitude was nice and professional, but the other girl cj or tj was very snotty. ***UPATE: I went home and washed the chalk out of my hair***Kim finigan

For the first time in 12 years I received poor customer service and a bad haircut. I emailed them hoping that would mean something, havent heard back, and will be reposting negative review.The short version: if you are particular about how you want your haircut, prefer polite/amicable stylists, and want consistency dont go here. If you are open to whatever haircut a stylist might want to give you, like the get in/get out attitude, and are ok with wildly different results when you request the same cut over and over, this place is great.I am very particular about my haircut. I always have minimal/no layering. The stylist always asks my opinion (except this time, a red flag I missed). I always let the stylist know exactly what I need and what I have time for. I let them know my routine and what will work for me. I essentially have had the same very simplistic haircut forever. I always say I want the exact same thing, I just need it cleaned up, the split ends gone, etc.I had the last haircut of the day. This never used to be cause for concern, but the girl clearly just wanted to rush through my cut and get me out of her chair. Clearly she wasnt listening because she took off more of my hair than I had asked and did quite a bit of choppy layering. Also not what I wanted. My hair is extremely difficult to style now and I hate my haircut. As soon as it grows out a bit, Ill be going elsewhere to begin undoing her work. I told my stylist I really dont have time for a lot of styling and am busy and needed something low maintenance and VERY simple. She went in the very opposite direction with my hair.I used to believe Hoshalls was worthy of 5 stars. No matter what the stylist thought might be cute, they always let the client have the last say and cut my hair the way I liked it. This is the first time in all the years Ive been going that my stylist absolutely disregarded what I had asked for. Had I known shed cut so many choppy layers into my hair, I would have demanded something be done, but she was clever and curled the ends of my hair before I could see the outcome. What a surprise the next day when I was attempting my usual routine. I also told her I often put my hair up and need it to be long, its too short to put in my usual clip. Ive never been so disappointed or irritated. This sort of customer service is why I shelled out extra money for my very plain and simple cut at Hoshalls. I feel upset that they now have dropped their standards for their stylists.My hair looks ok, not great, if I shower at night, blow dry it out, and wake up early to spend 45 minutes or so attempting to curl the very awkward layers she butchered into my hair it looks alright, but is still never a style I would have asked for. Friends and family noticed saying things like Wow never thought youd do something so different. Wow you went short with your hair. She ought to have been able to handle cutting a few inches off my hair which is all I asked. She clearly couldnt or didnt care to. Its one thing to add layers someone didnt ask for, but she could have at least done a decent job with whats there. Its so difficult to curl or even straighten in a timely manner because I have to do so in very small sections as the lengths are so different and the layering so dramatic. Or maybe she really didnt care and was just hacking at my hair with the scissors? I used to have all the same length hair and this is really frustrating to me. It was so quick to blow dry and curl the ends before. All things I told my stylist, she just chose to completely disregard my requests and listen to what I wanted.Again, as soon as it grows out a bit, Ill be begging someone to fix this hack job. Already had someone look at it and said oh boy, its going to be a while before you get back to the hair style you had/thought you were getting.Its funny I had similar haircut 12 years ago that prompted me to go to Hoshalls in spite of the price, thinking theyd never do something like this. Its come full circle, time to find a salon I can trust.

My friend just had her hair done here. She showed her stylist a simple shoulderline cut photo. She came out with hair up to her chin & the cut is exreamlly uneaven. Not only is the cut horrible, they actually charged her for the service after the stylist admitted to the error!!! Horrible for professional salon service.
