On Memorial Day 2021, I was driving alone from Gilbert, AZ to Utah. In Flagstaff, I noticed the plastic undercarriage on my Honda Accord had fallen down. I drove past Pep Boys and they got me right in. Every customer service worker was incredibly kind! Rather than just cut it off like I thought, they were able to fix it and get me back on the road in less than 20 minutes. I am so grateful for the amazing Pep Boys team!

Weve been taking our cars here since we moved to town about six years ago. It wasnt even a Pep Boys then, but the staff really hasnt changed so it feels like a hometown sort of place. Every interaction has been great, I trust them, and I always feel like theyre completely up front with me. Sure, things can get a little chaotic and busy in there, but were talking about an auto repair shop right off route 40 surrounded by miles and miles of nothing, so yeah: they get busy. But they know what theyre doing, they work really hard, and they stand by the work that they do. A couple times Ive paid for a big repair only to find the part was bad or whatever, and the warranty covers doing the whole job over again. Worth the expense to have your car taken care of by professionals.

Rude unhelpful employee. Made appointment online Friday for today at 1030am. Had email and text confirm of appointment. Showed up and rude unhelpful male employee said oh our online appointment system is broken. You got a call. Obviously I didn’t get a call or I wouldn’t have shown up. Rude employee offered 0 help!

I was a little nervous about having my car levels, tires, battery etc. checked out bc my brother usually does this stuff but he hasnt been able to get to it for a while, he recommended PepBoys and David was so great helping me out. He went above and beyond and was so very kind too. And when he said there was no charge, I could hardly believe it! These kind, honest and able people with big hearts and businesses with such employees and generous policies are the strength and structure of American economy and fuel its people by quietly restoring our faith, our human dignity, our sense of safety in a world that increasingly feels scary and unstable. I use the online scheduler to make an appointment and drove to the location at my appointed time. The sign on the door said they were closed! I called their phone number and was told that the online scheduler lets you schedule appointments that are not actually available and that theyre closed on the weekends. If theyre aware of this issue, why dont they fix it? What a waste of time. As we were sitting in the parking lot another couple walked up and tried to get in as well. Perhaps they had an appointment as well.

I used their online app to make an appointment for service. I showed up at Pep Boys to drop off my car on Monday of this week and was told they had no record of my appointment. An error they said you the national office was aware of and have not fixed. I overlooked the inconvenience and made an appointment at that time while at Pep Boys to have my alignment done. The key drop the night before was convenient and appreciated. Devon called me today to say the car was ready and the alignment was all green. I thanked him. I also asked if by the off chance he could check and clear a code on my BMW. I had to replace a rear ABS sensor and in a BMW that causes a code. He would check and let my wife or daughter know when they paid for the alignment if it was successful. My daughter stopped by when she got off work to pay and pick up the keys so I could return later this evening to pick up the car (could not make it by 5 pm). She called me to say she picked up the keys, the code was cleared, and the car is still there. I will go back this evening to pick it up. She mentioned she paid $110 to have the code cleared. At this I asked her to send me a picture of the receipt. The total was $110. The code reset was zero (thank you!) but the alignment was $110. It should have been $189 and she should have paid for the life time alignment. I called and explained this. My car is still on their lot, even as I type this. I wanted to send my daughter back to pay the difference. Was an error she made since I did not fully explain that to her. The manager at Pep Boys said we cant do that. Once its paid we cant go back and edit it. I clearly articulated the above situation and he did not change his stance. Even at the promise (not threat but promise) that I appreciate the code clear but if you dont rectify this, I will never (NEVER) return to a Pep Boys. He still declined. Said after the typical 90 days if I come back for an alignment I can purchase at full price the lifetime alignment then. He obviously did not understand my promise of never returning.....7/28/2021 - Added a star. They did allow me to pay the difference for a lifetime warrantee on the alignment. Was still way more difficult than it should have been.

I recently had to have my Audi A4s engine replaced. Devon and the rest of the staff were awesome and very professional. Devon, the store manager went above and beyond with dealing with my service contract company. There were delays after delays (service contract side of things) and Devon handled the issues with professionalism and complete transparency.Alex, the mechanic did an awesome job and theres been no issues after picking up my car. I thought theres be several small things Id run into with such a big job, but theres been no problems.Id like to say Thank you and I truly appreciate all that they did getting me back into my car.

Great place. Took the company truck and they took care of everything. Ill probably end up taking my personal vehicle there as well. They can get it all done.

The guy I was working with was really nice and helpful. I believe his name was James . Stocky guy with blond hair works at the front. Super cool dude. They fixed my car in less than an hour. They didn’t try to scam me like some other places. Just straight up let me know what I needed and fixed it. Definitely going to come here from now on.

Terrible service! We had a flat tire while traveling through Flagstaff, we stopped in at Pep boys they were incredibly rude right from the start. My dad asked if they could help us and they threw a fit and threatened to call the cops for no reason. Very unprofessional, we ended up stuck in their parking lot and had to wait for roadside assistance.

Used the online scheduler for an oil change, after an email and phone number confirmation I go in and I’m told the online schedule doesn’t work, but they’d be glad to get me in next week 👎🏽

I felt they were not honest mechanics. For two hoses the cost & time to fix it took three hours, coolant & a diag.fee the total came out to $500+. My business will be taken elsewhere

On our way to Lake Powell for Memorial Day weekend, we had a blowout on our boat trailer. Turns out we needed four new tires. Everywhere was closed already. So Friday morning we arrived before 8am. As soon as a manager showed up, he offered to help even though they weren’t open yet. He gave us a great price on new tires and did it right away. We were on the road by 9am!I’ve always bought my tires there. Great service! Great prices! Thanks for helping us get in the road for a weekend away from the covid!

Disappointed. Covid hours open qt 8am. I was there at 7:30 because Google maps said it opened at 7:30 then we find out they cant see it to late afternoon

WOW, AVOID! These guys are unbelievable. All I needed was a 30 second code check which they do for free. The receptionist said he was too busy with paperwork and his mechanic was packing up early. Nevermind that they were open still! What a piece of work. AVOID THIS DUMP!

I highly recommend Pep Boys. Not only are the prices fair and competitive, their customer service is top notch. I have been a customer with them for over ten years (since they were Advanced Auto) and will happily continue to bring my car there. They kept my 2002 Subaru on the road with 267k miles. Theyve handled everything from my wipers, oil changes, tires and everything in between. Very knowledgeable and caring.

Stopped there two weeks ago for the North Pole experience and while there I noticed my car had some sort of a leak. I called around and Pep Boys told me to come in and they would look at it. They were very nice and were able to fix the leak and have the car back to me within a couple of hours. I was really thankful and pleasantly surprised when they charged me a lot less than I was expecting. Thank you to Kyle and the rest of the staff there, I would definitely recommend this place if you need any sort of vehicle maintenance they are professional, know what they are doing and wont overcharge you. Thank you again for saving our weekend trip.

I made an appointment to replace my car battery. They gave me reasonable options to choose from and did not try to sell me the most expensive option. The service itself was fast! Everyone was very friendly and the waiting area was comfortable.

Let me start off saying, I NEVER leave a bad review unless I REALLY have to. I have never been so unbelievably frustrated with a company. It seems like this company has absolutely no standards for who they place in charge. Whoever the manager of this shop is, needs to have more respect for their customers. The manager, (I didnt catch his name) is super careless and has absolutely no customer service whatsoever. He puts all of the blame on his customers, including me, a loyal customer. I have heard bad things from friends about the management at this Pep Boys, but didnt have much to say until I experienced it for myself. I will NEVER come here again. I advise to anyone reading this that you do the same.

Yesterday enroute home from Phoenix we were delayed in Flagstaff with a nail in the tread of a fairly new tire. After stopping at one tire shop that said it was unrepairable and that we should buy a new tire (but they didnt have that size), we went to Pep Boys. Max was courteous, attentive, efficient and effective. Within 15 minutes we were on our way with a repaired tire. Today, 600 miles later the tire is holding up well. Definitely recommend Pep Boys in Flagstaff!

Very good service. It seems the whole staff here is constantly concerned and looking out for every customer. Mark took really good care of my ride and even went above and beyond in service fixing one of my blinkers without batting an eye. It seems like a lot of people had come in with their troubles this evening and were all treated with dignity and courtesy above the standards that you can expect from a lot of businesses.

I would consider changing your hours for the week days. Had a flat tire around 7pm, chance it there and to find out you close at 7pm instead of 8pm. Online it says 8pm.

These people are super awesome. They are professional and personable. The waiting room has good coffee too! But mostly they do a great job and make the experience a very good one.

Arrived 25/30 before my 9am appointment & my vehicle was serviced early & didnt take long to complete auto care. Front desk personnel was very helpful & professional. Look forward to returning for future services

My buddy needed the oil changed in his Toyota Tacoma. We just swung through for a quick visit and they did a great job. He had also noticed that his brakes were generating a slight odor and they checked it out for free, and reported back that they couldnt find anything. The staff was very friendly, and appears to be very honest. I would go there again.

Went for a simple alignment and they tried to upsell me to a $1,000 repair that was not needed. I took back my vehicle, visited two other auto repair shops and was shown by both that what Pep Boys said was absolutely false.

They have been much more useful than the dealership who wasted my time and money

While driving back to Flagstaff from Sedona our front drivers side tire found a huge pothole which blew out the sidewall of the tire. We were able to get the spare on that afternoon however most tire places were closed. The next morning I went in first thing to pep boys to get it changed (they open a half hour earlier than any other place in town). Although they were booked up with appointments, they found the time to replace my tire and it was done in 20 mins. The helpful service and understanding of the staff here made an unfortunate incident during our vacation a quick and painless fix which allowed us to enjoy the rest of our vacation. Highly recommend using these guys for working on your vehicle.

Got a quick oil change. Cant say much about it. Didnt get the reminder sticker for the next oil change...so gave to keep in mind of next 3000 miles.

Located just a street over from the famous Route 66 in Flagstaff, AZ. Very easy to spot from the Route 66. One of the few tire store open before 8am (7:30open) and they will answer the phone from 7am if you want to see if they carry the tire size your vehicle require. Very helpful over the phone and if they are short staffed that day the receptionist will take over and change your tire if your on a time crunch like I was. They also carried the tire size I need. I called and asked four tire shops for 265/60 18 inch tire and they all said they have to order it. Be here tomorrow!? Cant wait if your on a road trip if you know what I mean. So no compliants to Pep Boys on Route 66 Flagstaff. Two thumbs up for you!

We came in on a particularly busy and rainy day to get our tire looked at to see if had a puncture. They were able to look at it (luckily no puncture!) for free, and when we intended to buy one or two things from the front reception area, the guy gave us some good recommendations.

I went to do oil change. They informed me that my oil drain bolt was/had broken with half of the bolt still lodged in the oil pan. We discussed several repair scenarios, but they were able to extract the broken piece, and install a new one. All this and only charged me for the oil change. They have always been open with repair work options, and they allow me to look at the problem before work is done.

STAY AWAY..STAY AWAY. This place would not even rate 1 star. My NAU student got her oil changed at this pep boys prior to a trip. When she got home the oil was leaking from her car, which never happened before. Her dad investigated the problem, the oil they replaced in the car was extremely black and smelt bad. THEY REPLACED THE OIL CHANGE WITH USED BURNT OIL. Further more, they had changed out the oil pain drain plug with a different plug WITHOUT THE WASHER . IT WAS THE WRONG ONE. My husband had to buy a new and correct one at the auto parts store to replace it. This is not the last time they here from the mother of a college student (female) that was taken advantage of. THIS is so WRONG. WOMEN BEWARE..!!!!

If I could give them no stars I would. I am very disappointed. Im literally fuming. I took my jeep into this pepboys to get an alignment on my truck. Turns out a couple weeks later i find out that these people broke my fan shrued while they were doing my alignment. I am a mom of 3 i take very good care of my truck and in order to adjust my steering wheel they have to go through the front. Missing bolts all along the front of my truck and they ZIP TIED MY FAN TO FIX IT. Didnt bother telling me they broke it. I find out a couple weeks later when the ZIP ties loosened up. Not only did they put my life in danger they put my kids lives in danger. I work hard for a living and a little honesty goes a long way. Defiantly do not recommend these people. Now I have to find some way to get the money to fix what they broke.

I actually just drove by this place. I dont shop Pepboys because they gave me an open box with carburetor and when I went to return it they accused me that I was trying to steal from them. I was given a wrong carb in a boxed marked for item I asked for.I have been stuck with the item for the past 20 years.

When I ordered my tires several days ago, the counter attendant (Ill call him Joe) told me I could go on line to access the Pep Boys credit card. I specifically asked if I could make the purchase if I was approved on line. he said yes. I went home...applied for card and was approved for $2000 credit. Its Christmas time..Ill have some extra cash on hand.Long story short...you have to wait for the credit card to show up in the mail if you apply on-line.They wanted their $271 right now...No explanations...no Im sorry...just pay!The counter boy asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. Of course I did.He tells me I am ignorant for not reading the fine print on the credit page on line. This is true...my bad. MY POINT is that this manager has counter people putting out misinformation. If Joe had known about the credit issue..he could have told me and I would have applied while there at the store.I may be an idiot....but this guy is a BAD MANAGER.Train your help!!!
