Ive lived here for a few years now, and unfortunately things have gotten progressively worse. The amenities (Gym and Pool) are still not acessible and have no date set in place for any potential reopening. The office here has also been closed for about a month now, (via Highlander Rentals, the parent company) so there is no direct oversight over the apartment complex either. Avoid at all cost.
I have lived here for a couple of years now, and to be honest, this is the worst management they have by far. Brookstone is not what it use to be anymore. Aye, give them a try and find out for yourself.
The Bike Cage is a joke! My motorcycle was stolen and they had a camera on the cage. The police couldn’t use the footage due to camera quality. There’s no area security, staff did bare minimum and the area isn’t safe. If you own a motorcycle or a nice bicycle, this place isn’t for you.
I’ve been in this bank for over 3 hrs just for them to tell me I couldn’t donate today an I’m going to have to wait for a call because the worker who filled out my chart for my tattoos didn’t do it correctly. The supervisor said “ I’m sorry you didn’t fill your chart correctly so your going to have to wait for HR” I then told her I wasn’t the person filing out my paperwork for my physical they was. So now that they sticked my finger, took my temperature, and told me to wait for an additional 25min just to tell me I can’t donate for someone else’s mistake is very unprofessional. I love donating out the kindness of my heart for sick people but this the was my worst experience ever am I won’t be returning to any of the Locations in the Fayetteville area to donate plasma. I don’t have time to give anyone 3 hours just to tell me they can’t help me.
Its a very nice place to live quiet and I have been here 2 years.Never had any problems with management, in fact they are quite pleasant. Im on an end unit and I love it here.I mind my business and say hi and bye to everyone. And keep it moving.
We have lived here for 3 years and this is our second time moving here. These apartments use to have such a great community, however this place has turned into trash. Management is horrible lazy and rude. They do not even answer phone calls. Do not live!
Management is extremely rude and can’t do their job correctly. If you’re military I’d avoid this place because even if you have orders they like to give you a hard time. There seems to be cops called almost every week. It’s also apts given to people on section 8 so that says a lot about the people living in this complex.
In the beginning it started off as a pleasant experience but once I made a in house transfer. we rented out furniture and before we left we asked if they could take out the furniture in the apartment so that me and my husband could deep clean but we were told that it would be fine, it was definitely a miscommunication but instead of speaking to me as a woman I was belittled & and disrespected it seemed like everything changed, not to mention I did a in house transfer just to move into an apartment that was not even fully functional, Very rude, arrogant, & disrespectful management, it’s like you have to harass just to get a work order to work & you never know when your going to be hit with last minute fees the day before rent is due, after this lease I have no intention in returning after serving this prison sentence very unprofessional . So today is 02/02/2018 and I would just like to add to this review that today I was once again bullied and harassed by Denise, who is management, could you believe she told me today “ It’s not my fault you and your husband can’t afford to pay your bills on time” as if she knows us ? Our rent is $575 and we pay $700 a month to this woman, what do did with the rest of our money I have no clue but this woman is beyond the devil, I would like to speak to her manager, I have never experienced customer service so degrading.
I have waited since December 2018 to receive back my security deposit. There was a change of management, which is understandable, however, given now that we are in April of 2019 and I was told that it would only take 30 days for me to be issued a refund. This is unacceptable! I spoke to the new property manager a couple times and assured me that she will rectify the situation and that a new check would be issued within a couple days, this was a little over two weeks ago now. I have been trying to get ahold of the property manager for the past week and to no luck. We as tenants are held to the standard that we must pay a security deposit prior to moving in, I certainly would not have been allowed to take residence in one of Brookstone Apartments prior to making the security deposit. All I’m asking for is for the security deposit. It’s either one very low on the priority list to issue a refund, or two they do not want to return my deposit. Either way, it’s unprofessional and quite possibly against the law. I would gladly show anyone the proof of my circumstances. For those of you considering Brookstone Apartments, I would highly suggest making sure that this does not happen to you by directly bringing it up to the property manager before seriously considering this apartment complex as your next place of residence.
This is a good place to live if youre on bragg. Its close to base and inexpensive. The management is friendly and understanding. The neighborhood is pretty quiet. I was here for a short time but it was a good choice.
Very nice place clean and professional.
Great price, location, community isnt the best in looks or luxury but is very nice never had a issue with crime or any trouble within 3 years of living there. Very quiet neighborhood with great amenities. Staff was Mrs Denise and Mrs Diane and they were awesome. (Jul 2016-Jul 19)
I will totally recommend this apartment to anyone . I lived here for 5 years and enjoyed talking and interacting with the property Manager Denise and the leasing staff Mrs.Denise is very professional and dedicated to her job and making every tenant feel safe and loved in Brookstone apartments
I loved living here while i was in the Army. The apartments are real nice property staff were great to work with! This is a top-notch place to live. Cant beat this place!
Moved back to Fayetteville in 2017 I chose Brookstone due to the location, Ms Denise and her staff are great! Ms Denise the apartment manager has helped me through ruff period. Would recommend Brrokstone apts to anyone great place to live for price.
The staff was nice n helpful when I explained that I was just looking for some info for my friend who is come back to Bragg in August.
Lived here for years kept a clean place and paid my rent on time and they still kept my deposit. Management was nosey and rude
Pretty quiet, nice and clean, neighbors are civilized, plenty of parking spots and the community is overall great to interact with..
First things first, this is my second time living here and my first experience was the total opposite of this experience. Im not sure if they feel as if they have to put forth less effort this time because they know me as a returning resident or what. But rest assured, I will not return after this experience I am currently experiencing. I now hate it here. Starting out, I applied and set a move in date approximately a month later to allow them plenty of time to fix any of the issues (missing master bathroom door, dirty kitchen, stained ceiling due to what looks like a leak, etc) I had noticed when I took a tour of my apartment. Move in date comes I move in and only 2 out of 5 of the issues had been resolved. The same day I moved in I called down with issues that hadnt been resolved and new issues(laundry door wont open unless you get a knife or something and pry it open- their fix, remove the knob....) that I had noticed. Keep in mind these are maintenance issues. I kept repeatedly getting promised that these issues would be fixed TODAY and when they finally come they dont work on every issue all at once, I have to keep complaining. Well fast forward and I have now been here for almost 3 months and half of the time Ive been here my dishwasher hasnt been working not to mention all of the issues still arent resolved. It leaked all over my floor one day and the property manager QUICKLY SENT SOMEONE IN TO VACUUM THE WATER UP SO THAT IT WOULD NOT FLOOD THE APARTMENT BELOW ME. CONSIDERATE OF THOSE BELOW ME. BUT TO DATE I AM STILL WITHOUT A WORKING DISH WASHER. Oh and did I mention that the remaining water is still sitting in it. I keep getting the run around and lied to. Just 2 days ago I was told that they had the part and would be fixing it that day. Came home to notice it hadnt been fixed and called down YET AGAIN the next day to see why. Now all of a sudden the part doesnt exist and they found it, ordered it, and it should be in tomorrow. See where its going now? Ive now lost my patience with my place and wouldnt recommend it to anyone at this point unless it improves in the maintenance area(why should it take at least a month to fix minor issues) and replaces the property managers. The first time I lived here back in 2014, I could report an issue and it would get done that same day or early the next morning. But now theres a team of lazy excuses of maintenance men. Theres no way theyre certified and I bet if you gave one of them a pop up drug test, hed fail. Im not satisfied with my stay this go around and am already ready to move. I hate that it had to come to this point but Ive lost all interest in this place.
Short version: Dont expect to gt your security deposit back.Overall if your looking for a cheap, decent apartment the Brookstone MAY workout for you. The rates are decent, as is the location but there were some issues i encountered in the 2 years i lived there.Pros:- Cheap- Decent location- Generally friendly staff but not flexible at all on policies and feesCons:- They will take your security deposit and never return it. I left my apartment in good condition and i even agreed to forfeit a portion of my deposit for professional cleaning when i was told that if i did, i should not have to worry about additional cleaning fees. They charged me over double what i paid for cleaning and said the initial amount was just an estimate They also nickle and dimed me for everything including issues that were there upon move in. The most outrageous was 85.00 for paint when i know there was nothing but a few small scratches on the walls.- Turning into / out of the apartment complex is very challenging especially in rush hour traffic- Exterior patio doors have a lock that allows you to open the door while locked (from the inside) but will lock behind you leaving you stuck on the patio.- Some noise at night, not too bad, mostly teenage kids and cars with loud music.- Every few days someone would put some type of flyer on every door in the place- When they clean the floors in the office they lock the door and leave it locked for hours, which is fine if the mailboxes were not inside the door.- No dishwasher / garbage disposal in the sink
The overallness of the apartment wasnt that bad. Granted I lived there a year ago and finally got the time to write a review. Anyways, unlike most of the apartments ive lived in after this one, I can say this one didnt have nearly as many bugs (may consider moving back lol jk) There just was a lot of ants in the bathroom. Maintenance tried. I had a water leak spot in my bathroom (dont know if it was old or not) he literally came in and put paint over it lol. He was the only maintence guy so I guess I should give him credit. The counter sides were also always pealing and falling off. Apartment was not cleaned upon time for us to move in, me and my husband literally scrubbed that place upon coming and as we were leaving.Which leads me to my MAIN issues, the very reason why I may NEVER reside their again. The apartment manager is MESSY and loves to get in your business. I thought she meant well at first, but as it was time for us to break our lease (upon my husbands orders) she turned into a totally different person. Tried to make me seem like a trouble maker (because of a situation I vented to her about) and also charged me and my husband a lot of fees. She tried to play smart but because me and my husband didnt know much about orders and breaking lease, we had to pay THREE months rent and break lease the regular way and she charged us cleaning fee for the apartment (after me and my husband cleaned it top to bottom and took pictures for proof) . Once she gave me the bill, I made these things known and also tried to show her pictures. she simply replied I actually was nice about the charges, there were actually more, unless you want me to just add them back. I just left because I did not need to be escorted off the premises the way my temper is set up..oooooo yeahhhh, there was a time someone above us or across from us was smoking weed in their apartment and it seeped into our own. The apartment lady pulled me in and gave me a warning, informing me that it was not permitted. I told her Im not sure why im getting the notice. She then explained that a neighbor said they saw me smoking weed on the balcony lol. PAUSE, I, nor my husband smokes nor have we ever used our balcony (he does not do bugs). I let the lady know that and she was like oh okay. smh. They ruined the experience for me. Apartments werent bad though. Club house was also useless, there simply taking up space.
Brookstone Apartments is a great place to live. I have lived at Brookstone for over a year. When I first moved to Brookstone Apts They a few rowdy tenants. I didnt always feel safe. In the past 9 months or so the management has changed. The complex has undergone a great transition. Its always very very clean. the neighbors are friendly. The staff at Brookstone Apts. are very helpful. I feel safe walking at night un-accompanied on the Broookstone grounds. The pool this summer had also been a great place to cool off and relax. I have recommended several friends to Brookstone Apartments.
Mold smell
A bullet came through my wall on the 3rd floor from one of my neighbors . No cares where giving for my safety the only options they gave me was to put in a 30 day notice or pay more for a different apartment there. they say there pet friendly but always harassing me about my 2 dogs And the esa certified also slow on maintenance the bullet whole has sat there for 2 months before they sent maintenance to put putty in the whole in the cabinet 10 out of 10 wouldn’t recommend 😒
