I really enjoyed having Stewardship Properties as our landlords. They were always nice and friendly when we called, and overall responsive to our inquries. They did a great job at informing us in advance when construction would create delays in water or anything else. Also, the apartment was sparkly clean when we moved in. Best landlords I have had in Eugene so far. I am in no way affiliated with the company, I just see negative comments here and wanted to give my input of a positive experience with them.
Amazing company that made sure I got a great apartment that fit everything I needed. Quick to respond and made sure I was part of the entire process. Also really friendly and always willing to answer any of my questions.
My Husband and I have Rented from stewardship for 6 years now and couldn’t be happier. We have a wonderful House rental that we have been very happy in. Rebecca in The office is so professional and kind and always happy to help with anything that comes up. Anytime we need something repaired They are very prompt and make sure everything is taken care of quickly. I would Highly recommend Stewardship Rentals to all my family and Friends. If I could give them 10 stars I would.
It was tough finding a rental in the area but Stewardship Rentals took the time to get to know our familys situation and found us a wonderful place! The rental process was easy and their website made payments and maintenance requests user friendly and quick!
Excellent company that really cares about people into a great home. Malayna did a fantastic job! Would Highly recommend!
BEWARE!!! Cheats, liars, and rude! Please read all the comments. Multiple college students saying the same thing. They will try and take advantage of you and you will not get anything close to your deposit back regardless of how much you cleaned. Office ladies are the worst, and its very obvious to those whove worked with them that the good comments on here are from them/fiction. If you do have to rent from them document everything, take video walkthroughs, photos of before moving in and leaving. Including proof of dropping off rent, keys anything!!! Even then theyll try something slimy to get more money out of you. Truly make money by taking advantage of young college students. They should be put out of business.
Stewardship rentals has been great! Theyve fixed anything weve needed quickly, and are fair and friendly!
Current management are the best landlords I have ever had. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for all the help sara and Rebecca are willing to provide. A++
Sara and Malayna are fabulous! They have been nothing but helpful, responsive and accommodating to our needs throughout the rental process. When our situation changed unexpectedly, the staff at Stewardship Rentals was empathetic and worked with my family to ensure a smooth transition. Very grateful!
I recently moved out of Stewardship to buy my own home. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with them. The interactions with staff were always good and they are very responsive to my calls and emails. Maintenance was always dealt with in a timely manner as well. I received all of my security deposit back with exception of the carpet cleaning fee which I understand is normal. I have recommend them to my friends and would definitely recommend them again!
Our incredibly large family has rented from Stewardship for about a year. They are extremely responsive to any of our concerns. They handle maintenance situations very quickly, and are an absolute pleasure to rent from. Rent from them !! they are amazing
Stewardship Properties is the premiere place to rent from. I should know because I have tried them all. From beginning to end, the helpful staff will respectfully guide you through the process of property rental. They are professional, courteous, but mostly very understanding of tenants needs. They have an EXCELLENT maintenance staff with 24hr emergency response if needed. AND Yes,, they do accept pets which was Very important to me. Hands down, Stewardship Properties should be your FIRST choice for property rental.
We had an excellent experience with Stewardship! We rented for 6 months and never had any problems or complaints. When we first moved in, I noticed a couple small things around the house that needed repairs (ie. a broken spray hose in the kitchen sink, and the fridge had a little drip), but after I called to report my concerns they were fixed within 24 hours!I was actually surprised by how timely their response was.Overall, Stewardship was very easy to work with and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a rental in the area!!
As of right now* the process of moving in and currently the accommodations here are better than expected. Considering we moved in the midst of covid. The office definitely had a few mix ups, however they were quick to find a replacement. The unit did have some issues, but after one phone call and a day wait, it was all fixed.Ive seen a few complaints on moving out and Ive not come to that part yet, but when I do Ill update then! However as of right now, I have no qualms with the customer service, the building, the neighbors, and the quick response time in getting things fixed.
I live next door to one of their rentals. I don’t know how much money they spent in updating the property but it was significant. A real difference. The first renter was a horrible group of people. Stewardship was very responsive to my complaints and eventually were able to evict the tenants. My impression, while not exactly relevant, is that they are a high quality company.
When there were issues, Stewardship was quick to respond and resolved it quickly. Great service!
Extremely helpful and accommodating rental company in my experience. They’ve always been very easy to communicate with and responsive to any issues. Malayna specifically is a pleasure to work with.
Very kind staff! I wish we could have had a virtual tour before renting (applied for the house during COVID so could not tour in person). The room dimensions posted were not quite accurate so we were surprised at how small they were when we moved in. However, they were very accommodating when we asked to add someone to our lease and so far have been a great company to work with! Hoping that the move-out process will go just as smoothly.
My wife and I have rented from Stewardship since July of 2018. The team has always been available, responsive, and professional each and every time we have needed to speak to them. The application process was easy and smooth and renewing our lease every year was done with ease. They walked us through everything that we needed. When we needed help with some maintenance issues they were responsive and resolved very quickly. The only reason we are moving out is due to the need to relocate due to transfer orders that I have received. Even through all of this they have been professional and easy to work with. Another plus is the home we are renting is very well insulated and taken care of and with all this smoke in the air due to the current fires in our area we have not had any issues with the smoke coming in the house at all! I would highly recommend Stewardship for your next rental company!
I like the no application fee but some of the people are very rude
Terrible employees. Not only was it a hassle to get into one of their places. When we moved, after cleaning it spotless. It took them more than 30 days to get us our deposit, plus they took out $400+ from it. These people are the most lazy and greedy rental company Ive dealt with to date. Glad I never have to deal with them again🙏🏽
I am a UO alum that just moved out of my rental of 3 years. Myself and 5 friends lived in a rental house close to campus that was managed by Stewardship for 3 years. Our biggest gripe was a 100 increase in rent from year 1 to year 3, which was no big when we split it between the six of us.Tom from their in house maintenance team was always on top of handling our requests, from the smallest to the larger issues. He always was respectful of our space and handled requests promptly and with care. When we experienced a break in after one month of living there, they responded with such compassion and helped us install new, more secure locks and they came and installed motion activated flood lights on our dark driveway and big open backyard. They understood that as 6 girls, security was one of our top concerns. We were never charged for these maintenance requests, unless we dropped a shot glass down the sink and broke the garbage disposal (which we did... more than once haha). They even installed bike racks into our backyard when they saw that all 6 of us had a bike and that we needed a better place to store them and lock them. When we needed to swap out two roommates our second year living on the property, they made the process seamless and helped us make sure everyone was situated.I see a lot of negative reviews of this property management company - but must say that I dont agree with any of them. True, we got about half of our deposit back but seriously I didnt even expect that much having lived there for 3 years as a college student. I was happy to get as much as we did back - especially considering that we had painted some rooms and put the house through the college wringer lol.I would say that we did our very best to be respectful and upfront with them during the duration of our tenancy, and they responded completely in kind. I would 100% rent from them again, especially after hearing some stories about other Property Management companies from my old roommate who still lives in Eugene attending school. All in all, I recommend stewardship properties to anyone looking to rent a campus property in Eugene. They will take care of you as long as you treat their properties with care and are respectful in your interactions with them. I feel lucky to have had such a long term rental that my friends and I LOVED.
Stewardship Properties is the least professional rental service in Eugene. They offered the first month free upon moving in and gave us a free move-in basket. All this was paid for and then some upon move out. Upon move-in we found mold in windowsills and they painted over it on one of the bathroom ceilings.During the first month of Covid lockdown, they proceeded to try and show our apartment to potential renters. Our entire security deposit was taken from us and we were charged $400 over the deposit in random cleaning fees.Worst part is, not one of us received an explanation whether it be in letter format or email. We found out five months after move out we were being charged these fees by a collections agency.Stewardship is SLIMY and I would not suggest renting from them. PERIOD.
While apt hunting I called the office to ask about my dogs (Ive got two medium sized so its tough to find a place). My first question was does your company have weight limits on dogs? And the first thing the woman said was yes if you visit our website and go to FAQ you will find that information. I responded with, okay, but do you know the pet weight limit off the top of your head? And without understanding or asking me additional questions to assist me she says, well if you go to our website and read those FAQs youll get your answer... And yes, I do know the answer. What she couldve done was answer my simple question (its 40 lbs btw) and THEN refer me to the FAQ page in case I had any similar questions in the future regarding my pet. Terrible phone etiquette, bad customer service skills, bad attitude, and awful representation of your company. I called at 4:54 pm today. In case you record your calls and wanna listen to that. Could be an excellent learning opportunity for potential growth.
This company is awesome! I have rented many years and have never had such a great experience!! Always on top of it, fair, professional and kind.. I would chose Stewardship over and over. Repairs are taken care of in a timely manner, rent or rent questions, everything in general goes very smooth. I have resided in 3 separate properties and always the same outcome. Thank you Stewardship for your professionalism. Greatly appreciated from front office, leasing, repairs.. we appreciate and will recommend you from now on.
If I could give this property management company 0 stars, I would. THEY ARE PREDATORY. WATCH OUT. Especially if you have a low income or are an inexperienced renter. Myself and a couple roommates were interested in potentially renting a property from them. We submitted an application, which was quickly approved and then they aggressively pressured us to sign the lease within the span of a week without being able to inspect the property or even have a video tour as a result of COVID-19 and because they said they had a lot of other interest in the property. We were only sent a couple images of the house which didnt even include one of the bedrooms. After doing a little research about law changes as a result of COVID, I informed the agent I was working with, Melina, that they were clearly lying about not being able to give tours of the property, since it is the law in Oregon that property owners are allowed to enter the premises so long as they give tenants 24 hours notice. This has not changed due to COVID. It is absolutely absurd to ask someone to sign a year long lease without first allowing them to inspect the property. What are they trying to hide??? She said that she would speak to the property owner and asked me to call her back on a separate day. Directly following that conversation they updated the listing with new photos (that they never sent me) for $180 less than it was previously (making it clear that she was lying about others interest in the property). My advice: DO NOT trust or rent from this slimy company. They are predatory property managers who likely get away with it because they rent often to inexperienced college students in Eugene who dont know any better and dont have the money to lawyer up if their rights as tenants are violated.UPDATE: after I left this review on their facebook page, they tried to call me a liar and pretend they hadnt lowered their listing price, even though I have screenshots of the discrepancy. Just more evidence of how shady this company is.
I have to say I had some doubts about this management company at first but I’ve rented from them now for awhile and I have had a great experience with them. This month in particular I had a small issue with my bank and the lovely office ladies have been so kind and understanding and were 100% willing to work with me. I am just so grateful to have a company see me as a human being and not just a name on their computer screen to collect from. They certainly didn’t have to be so kind. I am thankful to have found a rental I can stay at long term with landlords who actually care!
Ive been a tenant with stewardship for over a year now and it has been fabulous. When I moved from out of state here, they worked with me to get me set up even at a distance. Whenever Ive needed help or maintenance they have been quick, efficient, and friendly. I honestly couldnt think about going with any other property management company in Eugene. Ive had really bad experiences with property management companies in the past and I can assure you that this will not be one.
I would say I was a pretty good tenant by inquiring whenever I had any questions and I made sure to clean up after myself the best I could. That being said, Stewardship always returned prompt responses to all of my questions and they treated me well in return. I would rent from them again if i ever move back to Eugene.
We have been with Stewardship for 4 years now. They are always professional, kind and fun! They remember us year to year, and remember our children, that is means a lot to us. We will continue to rent from them until they kick us out...LOL! Thank you Stewardship! Looking forward to another great year!
I’ve had a great experience with Stewardship so far and I love my Place. All the office ladies are awesome but I particularly like Christy. She has been kind, professional, and easy to work with. I will be renting from them till the day comes that I’m lucky enough to buy my own property. I’ve read a few crappy reviews on here about stewardship but my experience has been nothing but AWESOME! It’s pretty simple, if your good to them they will be good to you!
Stewardship was always extremely responsive and helpful with my questions, concerns, and maintenance requests. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend renting through Stewardship.
Stewardship has always been very helpful and on top of maintenance requests. Also the lawn guys went out of their way to buy and assemble a replacement for my daughters tricycle when there was an accident with it while they were here. Very friendly and helpful staff!
I Have been a tenant With Stewardship Properties for 3 years during which time I leased two different properties. The staff in their office was always very helpful, fair, and courteous. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. I would definitely go back to them in the future for another residence.
I have nothing bad to say about my experience with Stewardship Properties. The house was great and the rent was very affordable compared to most of the other things out there. They are hands down the best property management company Ive ever rented from!
I cant even begin to express how awful my experience has been with this company. Let me just say that after getting our lease taken over due to undisclosed construction in our backyard and multiple utilities shutoffs, we were charged rent through an autopay system which we were informed had been closed, a month after we paid our last rent. Instead of apologizing and immediately refunding us, the owner of the company tried to tell me that we dont take money, you pay it and proceeded to try to shirk any blame for the situation (instead of just saying sorry that happened we will fix it). I wish I could attach the text messages between myself and the owner to this review, and I wish I had a way to share the phone calls where he tried to lecture me on how to act more mature when his employees dont have the maturity to respond to any of my numerous phone calls made during business hours about emergency situations like utilities shutoffs. Not to mention . . . the THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR cleaning fee they took out of our deposit despite our unit being vacuumed and swept, the constant reliance on our office is under construction as an excuse for not returning calls (for a month), or the ridiculously high rent and utility prices for a 400ft studio unit in a renovated garage ($940), which we fell for since we had just moved to town. This is a despicable company, and I hope anyone with sense stays far away.
Ive been working with Samira! She has been extremely helpful in helping me with my search!!
They seem to be on top of all my maintenance requests and very nice whenever I speak to them. made the subletting process really easy
We rented from Stewardship for just over a year, and this was easily the best rental company weve used. Maintenance needs were prompty met, front staff was always friendly (they even answered phone calls most of the time!), and we thought the rental prices were fair. They showed a property to us last minute since we were in town for only a few more hours (seriously, like 5pm on a Friday), and even refunded our entire security deposit minus a reasonable carpet cleaning fee. Online payment was always a breeze, and we never had issues there.Heck, they even gave us a starbucks gift card after they found that our premises were in great shape during their annual inspection. The absolute only complaint I have is their policy of not providing a rental reference unelss you have already given a notice of moving out. In this competitive rental market, you would be taking a huge gamble if you gave 30 days notice and hoped the perfect rental would appear (and you were the first one to apply!).Overall, we had a great experience with Stewardship and would gladly rent from them again.
Terrible company that i do not recommend doing business with
This is my third year being a tenant under Stewardship Properties, and they have been nothing but nice in all aspects, whether it is maintenance concerns, check-ups, or other property issues. Christy and Rebecca are so attentive towards their clients and make sure all tenants are comfortable and happy with their living situation. Maintenance staff is exceptional, theyve even asked what time to come in to fix the problem so as to not wake us up if its early in the morning or conflict with our schedules. Highly recommend Stewardship Properties, especially for University of Oregon students looking for a place close to campus!
Hands down the worst rental company in Eugene. I would rather live in the dorms again with a roommate who didnt sleep and played death metal all night then rent from these slimy scheming low lifes again. I promise you they will act like your friend and make you feel great and then will charge you for stuff you had absolutely no control over. They also do not care about your comfort and will do anything to squeeze another dollar out of your wallet. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Anyone who gave them an even moderate review is someone who works there.
I wont ever rent from these people again. They didnt fix anything they were supposed to when I moved in, didnt clean or replace the stained carpet like they said they would, they havent fixed anything Ive asked them to now that Ive moved in, their late fees are higher than any other rental company in town, they didnt tell me that there would be homeless people camping on the property, the homeless defecate and urinate in the parking lot on a daily basis, my truck has been broken into seven times in six months, there isnt enough parking for all the tenants and there is a 2 hour parking limit on the street so I (along with the other tenants) get parking tickets on a weekly basis, they demanded that I tell them whether or not I was going to renew my lease EIGHT MONTHS before my lease was up- and when I didnt give them an answer they started parading people through my home when Im not home at a rate of once every other week. They have no respect for their tenants and provide none of what they promised when I moved in. They cater to college students who dont know any better and take advantage of them- and as such, everyone loses. I wish I would have paid attention to all the terrible reviews of their company online before I signed a lease. I hope this review helps someone think twice before putting themselves through this.
I rented from them for over a year. I paid all my rent and was a good tenant. When I decided to leave, I gave them 30 days notice, then I left for a week on vacation. When I returned to my apartment, there was a notice on my door. I entered my apartment and discovered that all my belongings had been removed and someone else had moved in. I still had more than 2 weeks on my lease! I had to call the maintenance man on Sunday morning, because they had taken my things to a storage area. I had to scavenge for hours to retrieve all my stuff from piles of junk in a shed. I went to the business office on Monday and they were incredibly rude. I asked for copies of several documents and they refused. Luckily, they did refund me my remaining balance. I would have sought legal action if I had the time. I may yet complain to the Eugene chamber of commerce. Beware of Stewardship Properties. On a side note, at the time, there were a bunch of young girls working in the office and a single older guy there who appeared to be running the place. Creepy. Weird.
The people are great. Houses are new remodels. Great maintenance team
I have really enjoyed renting from Stewardship Properties. They are very affordable and helpful and I love my place. I would highly recommend them!
I was really happy with Stewardship after renting with them for 2 years. They were always quick to respond to my maintenance calls. I felt like the rent was extremely cheap compared to other rental agencies.
Stewardship Properties is one of the best, most accommodating rental companies Ive had the pleasure of dealing with. A week after we renewed our lease, we discovered that the unit next to ours was up for rent next Fall. Its slightly larger, and the same amount of rent. Out of curiosity, we called to ask if there was any way we could possibly void our lease renewal and move to the other unit once it has been cleaned. The property managers there did some research and called us right back saying that yes, we could indeed move to that other unit, and that they would even extend our current lease a few days to overlap with our new move-in, giving us time to move out and clean our current unit.On top of all that, they were willing to carry our utilities over (a $25 charge on top of rent) so we wont have to pay double for both units. They even modified the prorated rent amount to make the transition easier on us financially. I already recommend Stewardship over any company Ive worked with or heard about in Eugene, and this experience has made it even better.
Excellent company to work with people getting into a home .Staff is awesome!! Been with them for over a yr now
Horrible company. Will nickel and dime you at move-out. Would not recommend.
So far so good. Really quick to fix things no complaints from me. Update!!! Please read belowHere is an update! Spmeone broke into my car there. High crime area. I saw someone walking up to car doors trying then. But here is the kicker homeless ppl was sleeping in the crawl space!!! Yes they would sleep in there and you could here them at night . Not to mention the ants and roaches. I told the landlord I needed to move to a safer place while hubby was deployed with the kids and she gave me a 5k bill. They are ok to cerain extent. That location wasnt suitable for my family great neighbors tho!
Worst rental company ever.. i lived there for 2 years without any complaints or anything negative, then i came home one day, and there was termination of lease- no cause, on my door. we packed up, and cleaned out the apartment, and were out 2 days before the notice ended. given, my apartment could have used a little bit more cleaning, it wasnt a wreck or destroyed, they took my entire deposit, and claimed we still owed them. and now they are telling prospective landlords that i completely destroyed the residents... if you do choose to stay with them, take pictures of literally everything
Maybe people have issues with previous employees, but Ive had nothing but excellent experiences with everybody working at SPM. Theyre very professional, friendly, and prompt. Between getting the property to maintenance work, theyve exceeded every expectation I had. Would highly recommend rending from them
If I could put less than 1 star I would in a heartbeat. Stewardship Properties is by far the least trustworthy, most manipulative, and absolutely the worst rental company I have ever come to have an experience with. They will fine you for trash clean ups that they say that their workers have done when that statement is a blatant lie. They will have you sign a lease and then during the most beautiful time of the year in Eugene, they will (without telling you) turn your incredible backyard into a construction site. Right to a peaceful environment??? Not with Stewardship!! Imagine being woken up at 7 in the morning every single weekday to the miraculous sound of power drills, hammering, heavy machinery, and the consistent shouting of construction workers. Well that was that experience we got in our one year of living there. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT RENT FROM STEWARDSHIP!
I was charged $80 for carpet cleaning and $25 for 1 hour cleaning out of my deposit. I sadly got the email response from this management that section 12 in the contract says that Landlord may deduct the cost of carpet cleaning from the deposit regardless of ..... They wrote this into the contract and would charge you the cleaning fee after you moved out for sure.I looked up on the internet to see in which situation will a landlord deduct money from the deposit. Again, sadly I didnt find a situation like I was in. The most common reasons I found are those like In most states and jurisdictions, security deposit laws allow a landlord to deduct from a security deposit for any damage or excessive dirtiness, but not for any expected, normal wear-and-tear. I left the room clean and empty and theres no wear-and-tear there. So be careful, they write they will take some of your deposit in section 12-- deposit of the contract and will charge you after you leave.I dont like the way they do their business. Thats why I gave them 1 star.
I loved the house we rented from Stewardship Properties and would definitely rent from them again if they had any properties in Salem!
Its really obvious when property management companies get their associates to write the 5 star reviews! There is not one property management that deserves good ratings; they all are in the business to be a landlords middle man but they do NOT take care of the tenants needs. They brag about how many clients they have....really now, how can you realistically manage so many properties, that is, properly (not just collecting your fees). Always be suspicious when you see any 5 stars amongst the numerous low ratings. They post the bogus exemplary reviews to counter balance the horrid (real) reviews, to also get the rating up, for those who just glance at the number rating and dont stop to read the reviews. If youve ever had horrific property managers, you know how these schmucks operate, and it is NOT in the renters favor. Keep the REAL reviews coming, people! These management companies need to get squashed and put in their place! And, dont forget to get your very easy-to-understand OSPIRG renters handbook to see how your rights are frequently violated! You can download it online or see if UOs student ctr has them (downstairs, ground level in the EMU).
Honestly, my experience renting from Stewardship was really really great. On all fronts. Im pretty impressed with them, and since college Ive been in the hands of several rental companies between Portland and Eugene.Responsiveness was great - I never, ever had a hard time getting a response from my property manager or another well-informed staff within a day, if not within the hour. They have always been pleasant and fair, even when I had any special requests and even now that its time to move out (for a job elsewhere, otherwise I would stay planted here). The property itself was in good shape - its a very old cottage near the university and has some peeling paint on the outside, but they have clearly been putting their money where it counts over the years they have owned this. Fixtures and Appliances all worked great, were clean and fit the cottage well. No issues with plumbing or leaking, although I saw them get on a fix immediately when my neighbors roof leaked a bit. I see evidence that they have kept on eye on all waterproofing, structural, electrical and finishes and these have been well kept-up. Im an architectural grad with an eye for technical details, and its nice to see someone prolonging the life of these cool old buildings. When I moved in the paint was fresh and the carpet steamcleaned, no smells and residues anywhere. Best pre-move-in cleaning Ive had yet. They check on the property regularly but are very unintrusive - always lots of notice for the yearly fire inspection or anything else, posted and emailed. If your cottage neighbors are doing anything crazy you can bet they will help you resolve the issue. They installed a hidden bike rack on site and promptly met with Sanipac to organize a better waste removal solution at the request of tenants.Paperwork is clear and comprehensive, and they are very accomodating - I was able to renew my lease via email submission and I pay rent online. What else... I dont know. Just a great experience all around. Responsible, responsive, friendly, fair. Id give them a try if I were you. They want their tenants happy and safe in solid buildings.
Great staff and always helpful. Any maintenance issues fixed by next day.
Ive live in one of Stewardship Properties apartments for almost 9 months. I havent had any negative experiences with them. Yesterday I filled out a maintenance request and the problem was solved in less than 5 hours.
Wonderful company to work with, and very responsive to any issues I had.
Its just the agency that 2000 apartments are there Springfield in
