Trying to get haircut for last 4 weeks. Daniela does excellent work and adhered to the mask mandates. Young lady across her chair keeps telling me she will be back in 10 minutes. The first time I waited 45 minutes on a Friday afternoon before the rush. After that I wasnt going to wait. Called after 9am the next week, young man stated she comes in at 12pm. Just called at 1pm today, Im told she isnt in today. None of her employees explains what is going on. She is the Manager. This location has received negative reviews the last month...it would be safe to assume that Daniela is what drove the positive reviews. Looks like Im going to have to find another person to cut my hair.

I used to visit Montwood location for the good stylists that used to be there but decided to visit the new location as it’s closer to my home. I took my stepson for his haircut and the lady that did his hair jacked his hair up. I had to take him somewhere else to get it fixed as best as they could. I was referred to the GM at Sean Haggerty location but it’s too far. Sad to see the lack of good stylists and good customer service as no one offered to help.

I am originally from the area, but live out of town. When I visit ElPaso, I always make it a point to visit Daniela at the Montwood location. She always greets me and my two boys with a smile. Place looks like it’s understaffed but she always makes it a point to be friendly, professional and cut mine and my boys hair and does a great job. There are many places to visit in El Paso to get a haircut, but she is the reason we keep going back. Thanks Daniela!!!!!!!

I’ve been going to this location for a while, and I’ve been noticing the lack of good stylists and staff for that matter. Sometimes I’ve waited an hour or two to be seen by my go to girl, the haircut and the customer service made it worth it at the end. Sometimes there’s only one stylist doing it all, phones, cutting and cleaning after them with no help at all, but I’ve always been patient. I went in during the week to check if the girl that usually cuts my hair was there & the response was very disrespectful. Maybe management needs to address this. After being talked to very disrespectfully, I turned around and walked out.

Cool Joes needs more employees! Waited for almost 2 hrs and still got skipped. They only have one person working, no cashier no customer service.

Haircut was done messy, not even, not decent.It was my son’s first haircut in 2 years.He Did well and sat throughout the haircut. Had to be adjusted a few times to look at certain way but I have recording of him standing still through the entire time.I thought since he was sitting through the haircut would be good but no.I was too embarrassed to tell her I hated it.I am not sure how she thought it looked ok…. Sides are long back is long too,Very dissatisfied.I will be going elsewhere to fix this.

They take credit, which almost no one else does in EP. I don’t like carrying around cash and change so I appreciate it. They’re cuts are hit and miss depending on the person but for their price I think it’s fair. I don’t have time to find out who’s working and when I can come in though. Still it’s a great place for a fair price

Cool Joe cuts is a great place to get a haircut. I’ve utilized all the stylist and they are all amazing at cutting hair. I prefer to go to Dani as I think she cuts my hair just right. I highly recommend this place!! The prices are great and the service is even better! Plus the shampoo service is so RELAXING!

Ive going going to Cool Joes for at least 3-5 years and have always found one person who I can relate to and feel comfortable and valued by to address and give me the results I want with a busy schedule. I started going with Candi now and would definitely say with her the time flies by, she keeps the conversation going, all the while getting all the minor details of the cut to make sure I walk away fully content. I love her down to earth genuine approach to the customer service experience and hair cut. Its crazy awesome how we can have a cool vibing conversation, laughs and still stay on task with getting the edges and details of a righteous cut. I used to go with Daniella but when I saw her over flow increase, makin the jump to Candi was not even skipping a beat in quality and thats the great thing about hitting up this place. So hit it up and ask for candi or danny or any of the great girls they got there for you.

I went in with around 5 lbs of hair, I hadn’t had a haircut in months, and I figured it was time. The haircut came out awful, the woman who cut my hair did not fade it, and when she tapered it in the back, there were certain bald spots and the shadows were all off, and when I asked about it she blamed my head shape, the top looks ridiculous, and she cut portion on top (the actual top) of my head with the clippers, bc she “that’s what a high fade is”. She had an excuse for everything that looked weird about my haircut, she told me I had a lot of hair so that why she cut some parts weird. While I was in the store I was polite, and soft spoken, it’s not usually like me to complain. I don’t like when people are rude to public service workers, this is just a warning about this place.

Been going to cool joes for over a year. Candy always knows how I want my hair done and has great customer service, have changed my hairstyle a couple times and never disappoints.. will be back soon.

I went here this past weekend. If your kids have curly hair stay away from here. The girl that cut my oldest sons hair cut way too much on one side and then didn’t correct it on the other side. She was only supposed to trim the top. But she cut so much that it is noticeable. She didn’t fade correctly in the back either. It looks worst than if I had cut it. I’ve done better with their hair with no experience. And my you younger sons line up was slanted. I literally paid to come home and then fix it! Never again! If your babies have anything other than straight hair stay far away from this place. Yes we do is cheaper and better! Go to Xelena on Edgemere.

The first time that I brought my 4 boys here, the girls blew me away with how good their haircuts and styles were...They are still just as amazing as they were on that first day! The ladies are very friendly, courteous, attentive, patient and professional. They keep their shop clean and neat. They show you how to style your new haircut and they use the products that they sell so that its convenient to just grab one when youre done.

The employees were nice a respectful. That wasn’t the problem. My problem was that this shop specifically cuts men and boys and the cut they gave my boy was NOTHING like I asked of them. They looked hesitant in the first place and I shouldve stopped them immediately so that’s on me. If they didn’t know how to do the cut, they shouldn’t have performed the cut. Period. Again no problem with customer service but they didn’t know what they were doing. I say “they” because it took two of them to figure the cut out and mess it up regardless.

My son enjoyed his hair cut! They are very friendly and proffessional. It has a man cake feel to it. They have several good offers such as your first hair cut at a discounted price, you may go in between cuts to get a free touch up on your hair. Also have a frequent hair cut card to receive a neat surprise when an amount of haircuts received. My son liked when he had his hair washed, they put a warm minty cloth on his face while getting his hair washed and massaged. They save the details of your haircut so when you go back the next time they know how to cut your hair unless you want a different style. Will deffinetly come again and bring my husband too.

I had a great experience walking in for the first time. They were fast, too! They have large TV screens on the walls as well. Courteous and friendly staff who know their stuff. Had a free shampoo cleansing and took advantage of that. I was told that the next time I come in, I can ask for the same haircut as before, since they store the information under my file and itll be easier to ask for the old regular haircut. :)

Love this place! Friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and minimal wait time. All the stylists are great, especially Liz! Shes consistent, quick, and gets my cut exactly how I want it every time, no need to even look in the mirror since she always does a fantastic job.

Have been going now for for a couple years and have always had great service and get exactly what I want. Love the fact they keep a history of your haircut, so they pull that up and just ask if you want what you got last time. No need to explain what you want each time, especially if you get the same thing each time.

Never got a hair cut checked in waited in my car. Left after waiting over an hour when I was only the third person in line. Long time customer but no more.

Eh, I had issue with regular Joes. They told my wife they werent the same as then when they took my son. The lady who cut my hair said they were the same. She jacked my hair up so back. She didnt cut my sideburns right and hardly faded my hair. Had a giant line in my hair. No go

We have been loyal customers since May of this year. Loyal to the point that we are there about every two weeks (three different people) thats more than $100 a month on hair cuts because we always leave a tip. We do not go for the price (obviously) but because the quality of the hair cut. About two weeks ago we purchased the Johnny B gel and it was left at the store. I know this because I searched far and wide for it in my home and my car. I called and spoke to a young lady who stated she was the manager and asked if she could look through the camera to verify that it was left behind. She said she would call back. She never did. I called earlier and she stated that she didnt verify the surveillance and that theres nothing she could do. Not even a discount on our next cut. I told her wed be looking for another barber shop and she had no care in the world and said Okay, have a great day. Im just very unsatisfied with her customer service and how the situation was handled.

First haircut here moving to El Paso from Korea and the service was great. The lady cutting my hair was super friendly and worked with me to find just the right look for work. Great experience and Ill definitely be back if nothing else then to BS with the same lady who made my day.

Update: I felt the need to give a covid-19 update on this location. This place never disappoints. They go above and beyond with CDC guidelines with their reopening. Check in is done outside and call in is done through phone. Once inside (mask required) you are escorted to the restroom to wash your hands and then you are treated with the same outstanding service now managed by Daniela. For the hair cut I got which was only to trim the back of my neck and cut the split ends which took about five minutes to do was not worth sixteen dollars

Wait time is ridiculous. Stylist have to answer phone, charge and cut hair. Management could to better to help out and decrease > 1 hour wait.

Definitely good service, but the wait has been awful the past four times Ive gone. Only having two to three workers with 8-12 guys waiting, Ive had to wait over 30 minutes every time, one time close to an hour. Ive tried different dates and times and they never really have a timely wait for the price. A $14 haircut shouldnt mean waiting for over 30 minutes to be seen. Maybe have a online checkin feature to eliminate the wait.

If you like high fades with an undercut then this is your place because that is all they can do. Both times I have asked for a low fade, I have gotten a high fade with an undercut.

Only 2 gurks working. The pregnant one was super loud, she finishes and goes to rhe back. Then the other girl finishes and takes her time before calling my son. Nobody acknowledges the customers waiting! The haircut was mwhhh the right back side was shorter than the left!! First and last time there!!

Worst haircut Ive ever had. Ive come here twice because I guess the good barbershops in El Paso arent open on Sundays (holysabeth I I understand) and I needed a haircut but they dont get the concept of skin fade as in no hair below the fade....just skin. Asked for line up and got my hair pushed back farther then Lebron James before his hair implants. All the people who said they had a good experience arent lying, the people are friendly but I have to Go to work like this.
