Its been so much nicer since they cleaned house of the riff raff that was here before. The new staff is wonderful!!! Sucks that we cant use the amenities cause COVID but overall it has been comfortable and a happy stay.

I’ve loved living here. It’s very peaceful and quiet for the most part. The only thing that I would say needs to be enforced a little more is everyone keeping their animals on a leash

I like living here. The complex has been through different owners since I have been here but all have been decent. I just wish some of the residents had more respect for where they live and not throw trash all around the complex.

Staff at Independence Park are awesome. The community is very welcoming. Just 2 of the reasons I decided to move here. My move in process was very simple and easy. No complaints here. Thank you! Forever great full!

My experience has been wonderful, I love the view, it is quiet and a peaceful environment .I wish the pool could’ve been open when i moved here in july, hopefully summer 2021 it will be. I dislike the fact of it not being enough parking spots especially at night when I return from work and have to park super far away.

My experience overall as been okay. Unfortunately the apartment complex does not have cameras in their parking lots. They have a security officer who drives through, however they failed to notice my smashed window and I personally dont feel as though they are actually preventing property damage.Aside from that they have a very aggressive towing policy. One of my vehicles was towed, despite having a permit sticker (which was fine as it was technically inoperable and that in and of itself was not the issue). The towing company Unlimited Recovery lied multiple times about having my vehicle and then tried to charge me late fees for picking it up after hours after they realized they did have possession of my car. When I had called during normal business hours they repeatedly lied, refused to check the lot, and were extremely unprofessional. Not only this, but when I went to retrieve my vehicle the towing company had damaged my car including flattening one of my tires, refused to do anything about it unless I drove the car to Raleigh to prove they had damaged my car. They had initially logged the wrong color and year of my vehicle, and refused to have anyone so much as look in the lot to see if it was there. How you can run a towing company and not know the difference between red and blue, I have no clue. This company is extremely unprofessional and this apartment complex is worse off for partnering with them.How an apartment complex can be so great in the apartment side of things, but blatantly negligent in my mind in areas such as parking I will never know. The staff have been friendly and cordial, but my recommendation for anyone thinking about living here is if you have a nice vehicle and want it to stay that way, DO NOT PARK IT HERE. Every car I have had on the property has been damaged and there is no way to know who did it because they dont have cameras. This completely changed my experience of the apartment complex, and unfortunately I cannot reccomend people live here while this is an ongoing issue.I have tried to contact the office about this, but they have not been answering the phones.

I moved here a month ago! I met with Jamie, the manager of the community. Everyone here is very professional and seemed to care about their residents. They greet you by name, always smiling. The property is clean, well maintained. LOCATION IS THE BEST!I have nothing but good things to say about her and her team. Everyone was very welcoming.

Love living here! Everyone in the office greets me with a smiling face. They do resident breakfasts on the go. The service team always waives and is super friendly. I have an apartment facing the wooded area in the back and it is very private and quiet. The location And walkability is great. I love walking with my dog around the pond and letting him play in the dog park. Live here, you’ll love it!

I could not go through the weekend without praising the independence park staff especially Jamie Turner. She made my move in process super easy and was very responsive on all my questions on materials needed. She was full of energy and not once during this process did I second guess my decision due to friendliness of staff and the beautiful apartments. I can honestly say i almost felt like i known her all my life with the welcoming vibe that she passed to me.

I absolutely LOVE Independence Park! They treat everyone with kindness and respect. I was caught off-guard with a gift hand delivered to my job just for referring a friend! There is no competition... Independence Park hands down!

Really enjoyed the function. It was nice meeting other residents, interacting and playing the games. The food was tasty. Its a great overall experience living here and our needs are always met.

We have lived here for 9 months and are very happy with our experience. Neighbors are friendly, it is relatively quiet, the staff are very friendly and helpful, security is very visible. IPA regularly hosts resident events that I have loved. It feels like a place where the staff are actually happy to have you in their complex, rather than just clocking in for a paycheck. The rent is competitive. We definitely could have gone with a lower priced community but I think we have gotten what we paid for and glad we chose to land here. I would recommend IPA to anyone looking for a safe and friendly place to live.

Been here since 2016 (3yrs) and its been, in kind, perpetual bliss. We did not really have a good start in Durham but Jamie and her crew made up for the bad-times. Life really begins at 40. Its a good start for your family or even your better half. My God. This place is heaven-sent. The community is awesome. Its easy access to most day-to-day facilities (healthcare, businesses, schools, restaurants, etc). The amenities & grounds are well-kept. Security is tight...so be careful! And insofar as leniency and having a real heart, in light of this 5G & AI epidemic, its God-bless all around. Kudos to the staff who makes living here worthwhile. You could feel the camaraderie a mile away. Ms. McCollum-Turner, special shout-out. For all the love you have shown to my family (still working on those friends, they dont come easy)....u dun know! #Anytime

This community is fantastic, from the location to the value, and most certainly beginning with the management and maintenance staff. The manager Jamie is the most kind and understanding sales person you will ever meet. While sales is only a part of her job, she made the walk-through and lease signing process incredibly easy. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Once we moved in, I noticed a few minor issues in our apartment (light fixture needed replaced, repairs to a kitchen cabinet). I simply completed the online form to request repair, and the issues were repaired quickly and with good craftsmanship. We have only lived here for 3 months so far, but would highly recommend this complex. All of my communications with the office have been very professional and extremely efficient.

I have worked at this property since October of 2019 . It started out as a great opportunity until the recent purchase of the property. The new management team is very unfair. The new maintenance supervisor is a lier . He and the property manager have made up a lie to have me terminated. The supervisor told me that it was approved by the property manager to remove a motorcycle from the property that was supposed to be abandoned and he even helped me move it, then when the resident that the bike belong to confronted the office and called the home office they LIED and said I took the bike without any permission. The HR department knows the truth and knows that the supervisor is lying but refuse to do anything about it and said that that the supervisor denied any involvement. Pinnacle is the new management company and they refused to right this wrong.

New Management thank goodness very friendly and very helpful. I wish they would extend leases more than 13 months.Hoping to stay if rent prices dont go to high thank you and have a blessed Day

I have lived at Independence Park Apartments since June 2015 and my experience has been extremely positive. First, I found a great apartment in a convenient location at a great price. Located near an elementary/ high school and several medical office buildings, it is an ideal location. The demographics of the residents is diverse and everyone seems friendly enough. Jamie and her management team are especially professional, friendly, and helpful. They hold packages in the office if you are not home to sign for them, and most maintenance requests are completed within 24-48 hours. The grounds are well-kept and quiet. The fitness center is modern, spacious, and clean. The theater room is great for having friends over. The car care center is covered and convenient. I live on the first floor, and I can hear my neighbors above me at times, but I dont mind. I do not hear my neighbor beside me at all. Overall, I am very happy with my experience and consider Independence Park to be one of the best kept secrets in Durham.

The staff is very friendly and attentive here. The apartment was clean, painted, and ready to move into. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom we chose is perfectly placed to get a great view of the neighborhood pond and its surrounding trail. The amenities are very generous for the price that we pay here. We get a dog park, playground, pool, wash station, and a very decent community gym. All of these areas are clean and well kept. The neighbors are actually very friendly and the neighborhood is amazingly quiet. It is a great community to live in.

Left the apartment on 9/2019 after a 7 months stay.Jamie turner is the manager who didn’t return my deposit of 1300$ up till now.She is good with making excuses and answers like a robot reading from brochure.We had drainage issues in the apartment.We also had bugs during the summer.They always came to fix the problem but the problems came back, the bugs and drain problems.There are so many options for leasing apartments.I don’t recommend this place.I’ll keep you posted on my deposit.

I enjoy living at Independence Park. I have had only pleasant experiences throughout my stay the whole staff in my opinion has been great, and to be greeted by Zerita Saunders as you walk in is always a pleasure she makes you feel like you are never a bother no matter how her day is going she does not show it.. Just when I think I cant be more impressed, the Independence Park team outperforms themselves! I moved to Independence Park Apartments three years ago because of the location, nice amenities, and affordability. I STAY because of the thoughtful and professional staff! Jamie, Heather, and Zerita are the dream team! If you have an issue or concerns, they will be addressed promptly and respectfully. The customer service IPA provides to their tenants is stellar. If you are looking for a new apartment home, look no further. Give the leasing office a call today!!!

They real help and nice

Ive lived here almost 2 yrs and have not had any issues. The staff is very helpful and courteous.Updating my review. I moved out of the apartment on 13 Apr 2020, never caused any problems while I was there.. upon moving out cleaned the apartment and have pictures to show, however I get the last billBalcony light cover - $20HVAC vent cover cleaning - $15Master and Guest bathroom cleaning -$30Living room mini blind - $25 (this was my fault)Replace Drip pan - $40And my last water bill (which I know I need to pay, included in the rent)I planned on paying my final bill which was received on 15 Apr 2020, I was sent to collections on the 17 Apr 2020. Now this goes on my credit report as delinquent for 2 days. SMH

The folks that work in the office, do not care about how things are ran at Independence park, especially the older generation . A lot of them are not computer or telephone savvy, and with this covid going on, it sad that no one can reach the service team or office people because you all have a mile long message when people call!! Keep it simple !!! if you come to work pick up the phone what is the need for an answering machine that leads no where !!

Lived here about a year and I couldnt say enough good things. The office staff and maintenance staff are absolutely amazing and always always willing to go above and beyond. They have everything you could want, and always looking for more ways to improve.

My daughter has been at complex for over 4.5 years...The Manager is rude and condescending. The assistant leasing manager and other consultants are truly nice and welcoming. Used to be a pleasant place to live.

My husband and I have been here for one week, and we honestly love it here. The staff have been very communicative, and respond very quickly. The actual apartment is super nice and so much better than what we actually thought it was going to be in the first place! We love our sun room and are really happy to be here. I also love how involved the staff are with their residents, doing pumpkin carving and pizza party for new internet :-) such a great Vibe and atmosphere.

I love the management team. They are very nice and helpful. This is not going to be my forever home, but I am enjoying my time here so far. I love sitting on my balcony looking over the pond.

I love this place only sad about not being able to use pool and other amenities due to coviod 19😪been here since September 3 2019 and havent use the pool since and my lease is up next june so Ill never be able to use it and that really sucks

I have been living here going into my 4th year. Several reasons, safety, comfort, the staff and the upkeep of the complexes. I was truly impressed to see Tony working on a Saturday cleaning around my complex. The OFFICE SQUAD is absolutely amazing and caring. Jamie is on point with whats going on with the property and residents. Zerita and Heather are always polite and accommodating. My concerns are truly theirs. Maintenance is on point, service request are done if not the next day definitely on the second but only if its not an emergency. We have a patrol system that allows me to sleep peaceful. I would not recommend any place to live where I would not myself. Full heartedly would I recommend Independence Park. True story abt 3 weeks ago it was pouring down rain I locked my keys in my car Heather put no her rain gear got in her car came to my apt which is at the end of the complexes and let me in my apt to get my extra car key. Thank you to all the staff and all you do.

I put in a maintenance request when we first moved in to fix our microwave door, and it was never repaired. The laundry room at most had two of the four washing machines running and often times only one which led to some long nights sharing one washing machine between several apartments. On top of that they made us pay to have our oven cleaned when we checked out, which was definitely not clean when we moved in. The two stars are for friendly staff, great neighbors, and great area. I wish I could give more, but after a few months of living there, Independence Park made it clear that they couldnt care less.

Very poor management, particularly the head manager Jamie. But very nice location. Just wish they would stop raising the rent every year. I have lived here for 4 years and each year our rent has increased. Also be very careful were you park your car because they will tow your car in a hot minute .But on a positive note; excellent maintenance staff. And good amenities.

The evening was fun. Food was well done especially the Jamaican soup.

Rent was increased 5 % without any written communication.They used to clean the carpet with a lease renewal.. But the new management stop this .. They asked me to bring a empty can for paint ..so I can paint my unit.. After living here almost 5 years..so I gave them a empty can and it was filled with not even a gallon but with a quart of paint..my micro oven was not working .. It took them 2 weeks to get me a new one without any replacement... It took a week to get a tube light for the kitchen..this would be the 3rd time I called them about my dish washer ..Not sure how and when they will get it fixed..The list goes on and on..The only good thing about this place is the location .. This is the only reason I am still here...

(Nice/Nasty)I had mold in my toilet bowl and I reported it to her she told me to “keep it clean”, lol! Right! Also, when my husband and I first moved to the property we were fined for FLASE ACCUSATIONS *MORE* than once I could continue but I won’t!There is NO WAY to reach ANYONE BUT HER!!! You can search google all you want! And She LOVES the POWER that she has!!!!!!All my neighbors complain about her. DIFFERENT AGES, RACES, BACKGROUNDS, AND PAY SCALES! How does she keep this position of power with so many complaints? All roads lead to a dead in with Jamie! And you’re feeling stuck!She possess legendary customer service skills! That’s only to lock you in! Once that move in date is locked in that “honeymoon” stage is OVER!!!The property location isn’t on the “best” side of town and the rent is expensive for the type of service we receive. HOWEVER, its a convenient location for the area! Don’t be fooled!

Was looking for an apartment recently, and talked to Carson and Jamie. Very nice people, helpful and prompt with their response. The location is also very convenient.

This was THE WORST apartment experience for me after Angela (prev manager) left. I was in my apt once and someone was trying to get in and show the apt thinking it was the apt next door. I turned in my keys after communicating it would be after hours and hearing back that the current manager approved it then they tried charging me July rent saying I didnt turn in my keys when I turned them in through the mail slot like they indicated. The guy didnt inform me to do anything else. I am a past resident who lived there for two years, I ended my lease on good terms and didnt owe them any money. However, the office is unresponsive and when they respond they say since Im an old resident I am not priority. They keep reporting that I was evicted even though I wasnt I spoke with the current office manager and a representative who informed me they would get back in touch ( within 5 business days) and never did. I just want corporates info or Angelas info. This is ridiculous I waited weeks for a response never heard anything back. You are tarnishing my name and its unappreciated.

I moved in around May 2016. Very nice quiet community. The propert manager Jamie M. is wonderful and easy to work with. Community is kept clean. Very fast responses to maintenance requests! If you work or go to school at Duke / Duke Regionsl / Duke University Hospital you wont find a higher class apartment for the very reasonable price. Im loving living here and my apartment is very modern and spacious! Jamie M also hosts frequent community events and sends out a news letter! My favorite thing though is that Ive never seen a bug in my apartment. That says a lot! Iall be renewing my lease when its time!

Found bedbugs in unit. Only lived in the unit for less than 10 days. Management insisted that they were not previously there; however, fecal matter on corner ceilings suggested the contrary. Management willing to treat only if we covered the astronomical cost. The ordeal has been mentally exhausting, and frankly anxiety provoking. Would not wish that nightmare on anyone.

Its been a miserable experience. Management is inept. People who live here dont clean up after their dogs. The pet park is a joke. Its full of dog poop and now theyre putting astroturf down for the dogs to defile. Waste of money. Kids run wild in the summer with no adult supervision. Door decorations get stolen. Some people who live here think theyre above the rules of civil society. If you ask for the cheap broken blinds to be replaced they expect you to pay for it. Who owns the building? Not me. So why on earth should I replace the complexs permanent fixture. Oh and the rent went up again. For what? To cover the cost of rehabbing these moldy buildings. And yes they have black mold. There were fleas in my apartment and Management said my dogs caused it. Unusual since my dogs have never had fleas in the 7 years Ive had them. Suddenly my apartment is infested? More like eggs hatched out of the carpet. Management has an excuse for everything. I could go on for days, but that doesnt change anything about this dreadful place. Truly an overpriced dump. Run dont walk to any other property.

Poor management. Property manager turnover rates for one year. BUT safety and services excellent choices. Great amenities.dont do it. turnover rates vs drop like flies. Confidentiality is nothing as privacy act.

Our Apartment had bedbugs that were found days after move in. The itching began then we found them in our belongings. Had to discard everything out of fear. Took over our lives in more ways than one. No accountability from office. I know they knew that bedbugs were previously there. Found evidence of them dwelling there before and just the events that in hindsight were warning signs. I dont understand who would be so malicious to pass that problem on to a tenant.

Its horrible from management to maintenance to all the accomadtions they claim it comes with....pool is out of service in the middle of June when we should be enjoying it the most. The laundry room is a complete disaster it only has 1 washer and 1 dryer that are working....I wouldnt call it working its just functioning to take your money. Truth sucks dont it?!?!?

There is to much kids playing around knocking on my door and I had to record them so I can send it to the office and they did not do anything to help me with it and it is a very nasty apt it had bugs,mold,scratches,holes, in walls very bad bad nasty and the wood is cheap I saw a lady on the second floor and she fell straight down and almost hurt her bad so there so dumb on there job who needs a pool pass and a card to swim so dumb and the staffs are lazy they drive Gulf carts what the hell broke ass
