This is the worst management I have ever seen in my lifetime. Not even trying to be rude but I have lived at several different apartment complexes and have never experienced a lack of professionalism like I have at this complex.According to the inspector that several of the residents here have reached out to the complex did not pay to have their pool inspected on time. Therefore, the pool has been closed nearly from the time we moved in two months ago. There has been no notification on when it will be open. Normally this wouldnt bother me. However, the only access route to the mail room is through the chain locked pool area in the evenings when the office is closed. The website says they are open until 6:00p.m. Monday through Saturday. THIS IS A LIE I have never seen the office stay open past 4:45pm/5:00pm if your lucky. I have to leave work early now to check my mail and lose my PTO and pay just to GET TO MY PERSONAL MAIL.When I complained to management that they should be allowing access to residents personal mail 24/7 as they advertised Brad literally said I understand you are frustrated. NO BRAD YOU DO NOT. I have not been able to access my mail and have missed giving my sister her Wedding present on time because of this. The apartment complex advertises that it has 24/7 access to both the fitness facilities and the mail room for residents. THAT IS NOT TRUE.Everyday the offices closes earlier and earlier. The other day I called the office while standing in the office to see if they would answer the phone and instead of picking the phone up Brad stood there flirting with the new staff member that was not interested in flirting back while my call went to voicemail.THE PLACE IS CRAWLING WITH ROACHES and they cannot seem to get a handle on the pest issue.DO NOT RENT HERE! I love the Apartment layout but it is 100% NOT WORTH IT I cannot believe they charge over 1,200 dollars a month for this place. After several lengthy complaints and a petition signed by several residents the best management could come up with is telling us that the pool and facilities are a privilege not an amenity. However, it is listed on their website as amenities included in the rent. This is false advertisement and withholding residents personal effects by locking them up and not provided times for access for individuals who work 1st shift is absurd. This complex gives a new definition to the word inaccessible and is completely and utterly incompetent when it comes to running a residential building. My guess is if management doesnt change soon the owners will be drowning.RUN!!!
The property is beautiful! The office staff is helpful and responsive. Brad answered all my questions (there were a lot) with patience and kindness. My apartment looked amazing on move in day. I did have a slight issue with my water heater my first month at the apartment, but the maintenance supervisor, Adam, came out after hours to fix the issue quickly. I’m very pleased with my time at University Ridge so far!!
I love these apartments! It’s in a great location, close to a lot of great shops and gyms. The office staff is super friendly and welcoming. Brad and amber have been fantastic. The maintenance team is great! Always help as quickly as they can! I highly recommend these apartments! I love this place! Plain and simple
I have never written a Google review. Please do not live here. Priderock property management is poor beyond belief. They mismanaged and continue to mismanage financial information for my resident account. This includes sending a debt collector after me even though I paid my final account statement in full. I lived there for about a year and a half before they took over, and it was a great. Stay away. (Edit: Property management responded to a Google Review before responding to the email I sent them yesterday. Seem to care more about ratings than residents, current or former).
I moved in right before the new company pride rock took over. The office staff is great. Amber and Brad in particularly. Maintenance here is great super responsive! We do have a lot of squirrels, which keeps things entertaining! But they have a great dog park and plenty of cute doggos. I love this place and highly recommend it
I am a relatively new resident at University Ridge. I enjoy the location and the apartments are very nice. Brad was helpful and made the move in process very easy and pleasant. I had a bad outlet in my kitchen that I discovered a few weeks in. It would have been disappointing to have a new place have an issue but I was put in contact with Adam who had it taken care of almost immediately. I would recommend to anyone!
So I’ve lived here for 3 years. It used to be Arium and now it’s University Ridge. Brad and amber the managers have been more than helpful throughout the experience and always super professional and nice to deal with. The maintenance team have been very responsive since the new take over. Adam the supervisor has been great. I had a leak last month and Joe and Eric helped immediately. Extremely courteous. I love the new team and love this property!
Overall, my experience living here would’ve been okay if roaches were not involved. Over the term of my lease, I was nothing but patient and nice to the apartment complex by working to fix their roach problem but they didn’t care about the problem. I lived here for 10 months and literally seen a roach every other week...ROACHES... they don’t care about them. No matter how clean I kept my apartment the roaches would come in because of the old apartment. The windows are super old and there’s a lot of cracks in the walls so bugs easily snuck in. Pest control literally came every 2 weeks in my apartment and roaches still found a way to enter.2 months before I moved out, I was told by the property manger that they would fix the roach problem when I move out… I felt that was very inconsiderate because I have spent over $1000 a month in rent just live with roaches my entire lease term. The bridges were full of roaches. Ultimately, I was over the whole situation when I walked in my apartment and seen a roach crawl into my microwave vent… super disgusting. To top it off, I almost got bit by a snake of the bridge. Below line is the property owners do not take treating the apartment grounds seriously and it shows. Oh, by the way.. I lived in apartment 2A lower level by the pool.
I had a wonderful experience at University Ridge Apartments. Amber and Brad, the property managers were very nice and extremely helpful. They were great from the day I moved in till the day I moved out due to buying a house. Anytime I had a maintenance request, Adam and his team were there to help. Overall I had a fantastic experience at Univeristy Ridge!
Just moved in. Had a great experience with the assistant property manager Brad and the maintenance supervisor Adam answered all of my concerns. It’s been a great apartment. I love it!
I was reviewing the area for possible move in ready apartments. Brad and Adam were extremely polite and helpful during this process, accommodating to my hectic schedule and answering all my questions and concerns. You are guaranteed great service and I will be letting my friends know about this location!
My time here was absolutely wonderful. Brad was terribly helpful whenever I needed anything and Adam served as a wonderful arbiter of the professionalism if the community. 5/7 perfect score
Staff here at University Ridge is amazing! They are very responsive and made staying here so easy. This is certainly one of the nicer apartment communities in the area.
This is my first ever google review. This is how frustrated I am with the current management/office.I have lived here for the past 3 years. Overall my experience has been okay until the A/C stopped working about 12 months ago. Since, my units A/C needed intermittent maintenance request/refill of Freon. Now JUST PAST 7 weeks, my units AC has stopped working 6 times (attached picture is my list of requests as proof), while outside temperature has been 80-93. Each time I am told that Freon is low, it gets refilled, then AC works for 2 days before stopping. It appears that Freon is leaking constantly (I have since learned that as a closed circuit system, Freon should not need replacement/refill for years), yet the management is not addressing the root of the problem. Now I have a routine of putting in an urgent request and calling the office the next day, since otherwise it will takes days for the maintenance team to come out. I have basically been sleeping in the living room with the windows open past 1 month.I have, of course, voiced my concerns to the main office several times that something fundamental is wrong (i.e. leakage in the circuit or the whole AC unit needs to be replaced). Since the management has changed a few months ago, I also explained the context that my units AC issue has been ongoing for past 12 months, it has required unnatural amount of Freon replacement. But I have been told to be patient, and that actual AC certified maintenance staff has come out to assess the issue (this, I was told in May 2021) and since they need to address the problem sequentially (i.e fix one thing then see if new problem arises to get to the cause) it takes time. Then most recently 4 days ago on 6/14/21, I was told by main office that AC company will be contacted again. Again on 6/14/21 Freon was refilled, AC worked for 2 days and stopped working 6/17/21 or yesterday. I called the office today to ask what is the status of AC company coming out - the office representative does not know/unaware. On the maintenance request website it says under the ticket placed on 6/14/21 work completed. Today, they did send the maintenance staff right away with a window unit to be installed (which I appreciate and thus reason for 2 stars instead of my initial 1 star rating, though Im not sure why it was not offered before when I called numerous other times - perhaps I should have complained much strongly in the past to get it).Looking through the reviews, it appears that I am not the only one with AC/Freon leakage issue. It Freon is constantly leaking in various units, it is also a health and environmental concern. It probably reflects how old the complex is and how much renovation & overall update is needed.Other more minor issues I have encountered past 3 years are: thin walls/noise, low water pressure (getting lower everyday), very old gym & equipments (only 1 of 3 running machine was working last I went a few weeks ago, few lower pound dumbbells (10 and 15lbs) are missing etc), very old dishwasher that requires plates to be rinsed with water again after the dishwasher has ran since it sometimes leaves stench. But these issues, I can live with.On the pro side:-- I will add that maintenance team members/technicians are very nice -- its more of the apartment management that I have concerns with.-- Neighborhood and neighbors are niceI am leaving very soon to live in a newer apartment. I am mostly writing this review to let other prospective tenants know.
I have lived there for 3 years and it was overall a great experience. However, the month before I moved out, the apartment complex has changed its owner and the current management team is extremely rude. They never told me the checkout procedure and I had to emailed them multiple times but never get any response. I left my apartment at 4am in the morning before my checkout day and left my keys and forwarding address in my apartment. 2 days later, at 6:30 am PST in the morning, an extremely rude assistant manager called me and woke me up and told me they did not get my keys dropped off at their office. I told him I left my keys in my apartment but he said: No, you have to drop them off at the office. Then he asked for forwarding address, I told him I also left it in my apartment. He then asked me, Are you ready for my email address? I told him it is 6 am in the morning here, but he did not seem to care at all. This is ridiculously rude and unprofessional. During my last 3 years experience living here, I have NEVER EVER had such bad experience, the management team was much nicer, much more professional and responsive before than the current one.
Very Good place to live! Its safe, its clean, the apartments are so nice. Ms. Amber and the staff are Very caring and attentive to the our needs, and do the best to help you in any way they can. Maintenance calls are responded to quickly and efficiently whenever needed! Ive lived here 6 years and I love it! The amenities are awesome and the neighbors are private but friendly. Thank you Ms. Amber, Justin, Sheryl, Emily, Imani and the entire maintenance staff! You are appreciated!
Absolutely do not live here. The complex was purchased by another company halfway through our lease. It has been miserable since they took over.-Incorrect charges on our account.-Extremely hard to get ahold of management.-Staff that answer the phones are very abrupt and unhelpful. They talk over you and have hung up residents including myself mid conversation.-Signing up for trash removal services to come to your front door is mandatory and $40 a month.-One night I opened the door and one of the trash removal personnel (he was wearing their vest) was standing on my front porch taking a picture of my bike and other belongings.-I reported the above incident to management. She spoke over me and said there was nothing she could do because it was an outside company.-Currently our AC unit has been completely broken for over 2 weeks and they are unable to tell us when they will be able to fix it.-It has been in the 90s for 8 days and has been over 80 degrees in our apartment each day. This is legally considered an “emergency”. I just called to check on the status of the work order and was again talked over and given no information.-They advertise safety to their residents enforced by the front and back gates. Since this company has taken over the back gate been broken a handful of times and left open. Our car was broken into during one of these times.-There is also a huge cockroach problem and I have heard other residents complain of mice.In response to management’s reply:Thank you for giving us an update on the AC unit. This is the information we were asking for when we called and we were told that there was no way they could give us the status on the work order because they outsource the HVAC issues. It would have been very helpful to be given this update when we called as we are packing and had parents staying with us. When we went to bed it was 85 degrees in the apartment and it was too hot for them to sleep in the bedroom. So we had to go out to Walmart at 10pm and buy an air mattress so they could sleep next to the window unit in the living room. We asked for an update from the office staff because we wanted to get them a hotel room if the AC was still going to be broken. It is true that you gave us a window unit but considering the conditions last week temperatures still rose above 80 degrees in our apartment every day, even with the unit.If there is a shipping issue we would be happy to buy an AC compressor locally or reach out to another company to fix the issue if you can reimburse us for the cost.It is also true that we have not put in a work order for the cockroaches lately. This is due to the last visit from the exterminator. While in our apartment he told us that his spray is not effective on cockroaches. We were confused and asked that he still spray but he said again that it would do nothing to deter them. He sprayed in the bathroom for about ten seconds and left. ( I believe all this information is in the work order review you have on file)After that we bought supplies ourselves and we kill them when we see them. I actually woke up to a cockroach crawling down my arm a few weeks ago while asleep in bed. Of course it is not managements fault that cockroaches are in this area, but it is truthful and useful information to have when deciding where to live. The garbage removal personnel who was standing on our porch and taking pictures- we put our trash outside of the porch as instructed by management. This person was on our porch by the front door. There was no trash to take a picture of, nor did we ever complain about trash not being picked up. So, there was no reason to first enter the porch or be taking a photograph of our belongings. We are not trying to complain needlessly, this is an accurate and truthful account of the issues we have run into while living here. This has been the most information we have been given by staff. I hate that I had to leave a negative review in order to have an informative conversation.
It has gone downhill a lot since the last year. Peoples music in the cars is loud all of the time. Makes it hard to work at home. Kids yell in the day and run around sometimes. It doesnt feel safe like it did when I came here. Office staff was rude in the past to me, so afraid to call them now. Apartments are older, things need to be replaced but dont get replaced. You can find better, Im just happy to have a place to live right now.
New management is absolutely terrible.Wrongful charges, maintenance requests that are left unaddressed and the absolute worst front desk staff I have ever had.Our AC unit has been completely broken for almost two weeks. Front desk said they cannot tell us when it will be fixed. It was over 90 degrees all last week.
I live on the second floor and have had ongoing roach problems for the past 5 months! At first they didn’t send anyone out for weeks because the company they normally use wasn’t doing home visits (maybe find another company to address a pest issue that can spread across an entire building??). After more pressure they sent someone who simply sprayed around the perimeter of the kitchen and bathroom. Whew, we were happy to have something done. But the roaches didn’t stop there. Since July we have been making monthly, sometimes more, requests for treatment due to roaches being found at various parts throughout the apartment. We kept asking for more permanent solutions to be taken, like checking the apartment for entry points and sealing them or fumigating the building to preventatively address the roaches but each time they would only send someone to do a perimeter spray, which the exterminator told us does absolutely nothing to prevent them from entering in the first place. We finally got them to seal the front door better and take care of a window issue, but that hasn’t solved the problem. It is truly horrific to have to be afraid to turn on the light at night in fear of seeing roaches or waking up to roaches on your ceiling in the morning. I’m very disappointed because I really do enjoy the community but this issue has not been taken seriously. I have friends that live in various apartment communities around the area and none of them have ever had this type of problem (maybe because their property managers do yearly fumigation and take preventative steps to stop pest infestations... go figure).
The moving process was very smooth thanks to the assistant property manager, Brad. He was pleasant to work with and more than helpful. Adam in maintenance was very responsive and helped in a very timely manner, would definitely recommend.
I was thinking whether I can give less than one star. I was a happy resident of this apartment for past two years. I have decided to move out specifically because of the rude behavior from the new leasing agents who took over very recently. I had a very rude and bad and terrible experience from someone named Brad in the office. I am not sure how a person who don’t know how to deal with people become manager in the leasing office. It’s a really unpleasant experience for me and I am international student, don’t want to have any unpleasant experience over here. Just decided to moving out.
Edit: After my experience today with their new HVAC contractor, Im upping my rating. They actually are finding the real problem with the A/C after I described what was going on and showed them the pictures I took.
I would not recommend living here. Super unprofessional and would not help when things would stop working in apartment.
THEY HAVE MICE THEY HAVE MICE THEY HAVE MICEI have only been living here for a month, and this apartment complex is far far from luxury. Some maintenance members are unfriendly and some of my maintenance requests were listed as completed when they werent. I had to resubmit my requests. I live on the second floor and I have already had two mice enter my apartment in two days. After having some of my pest control requests ignored by their third party pest control company, I packed some clothes and left my apartment, completely disgusted by the pest issues (I live on the second floor). After maintenance found the entry point, they put metal tape over it (which I researched on my own and found out that mice can eat through this). I called them again and requested that they put something else in the entry point to prevent the mice from coming in.So far, I have paid out of pocket for pest control supplies, which seems to be more helpful than the pest control services that I am paying for monthly!!! I asked before moving in about common pest problems they have, and they told me spiders. I have yet to see a spicer in my apartment, but I have seen plenty of roaches and two mice.Update: After making persistent and frequent calls to the front desk, the manager and assistant manager were very kind and helpful. They are double checking my apartment for entry points. I am hopeful that these issues will get resolved soon.
Ive recently had a couple of small maintenance issues due to the season changing and when I got in touch with Brad, he ensured that our maintenance team would handle everything. Adam and Eric came out and did an awesome job.
We drove two hours to see these apartments with Hannah, just to get here for her to tell us the apartment isn’t available. Extremely unprofessional. Thanks for wasting our time
ARIUM has been a fantastic place to live so far. I appreciate the helpful, welcoming, and pleasant staff. My maintenance requests have been addressed in a timely manner. There are community events every month. It feels safe and quiet here. Glad I moved in!
Its a quiet, clean place! I think Ive heard *one* party (that wrapped up by 10pm) on the first night of class or something. All the residents are pleasant - have yet to have a bad neighbor experience. Had some issues with my AC when I first moved in but it eventually got fixed by maintenance, who are generally very quick to respond. Very dog friendly place. Square footage and community amenities make this place a pretty good value for what you pay.
I have been living at Arium for a month and a half and I have to say I like it a lot overall. They pool is open 24/7 as well as the gym. The apartments are comfortable and with good sunlight. There are renovations going around to upgrade the outside of the buildings and it looks good. The staff is friendly and willing to assist when necessary. Would recommend for singles, couples, and families, very friendly community, outdoor areas and dog park!
It is an OK place to live -- not luxury apartments (as their name suggests) by any measure, although its better than what you get in that neighborhood. Leasing center staff is ok, maintenance staff are rude and incompetent. Dryer dries your clothes in 4 hours, never gets fixed, maintenance comes in, does nothing. Persistent pest issue particularly if you are on the 1st floor. Do not expect your apartment to be clean-clean on your move-in. The day we moved in, there were no blinds in our apartment, closet rails had dust on them, patio and storage was dirty. When we complained about these, one of the leasing center staff said, its our responsibility to clean them (really, what?). In retrospect, I think, we wouldnt have moved here if we werent moving across states and if we had viewed the apartments in person upfront. Like I said, given the Durham situation, it is an OK place to live.
My wife and I love living here. The maintenance guys are great. If there is an issue, its being worked on within 24 hours... Typically a lot sooner. Highly recommend living here if you are new to the area or work in Durham!
THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS COCKROACH PROBLEM!I found several cockroaches and they emailed me to say they would NOT be sending an exterminator in to fix it. Never live here. The office administration is horrific and clearly could care less about their tenants.Update: I spoke with Sue L., the tenant liaison for the Carroll group, who before hanging up on me, tried to tell me that is is not illegal for landlords to refuse to address pest control. But she said she would “look into North Carolina law.” This place is not only gross but they will violate your tenant rights.
I’ve lived at Arium for about three years and the front office staff is fantastic! Amber and Justin go above and beyond to make it a great living experience.
I’ve been here for a couple of months now and I love it!!! Great location. Close to the supermarket, restaurants and a movie theater. Amazing amenities. Quiet area. 10/10 Would recommend!
I love to live here! We moved from PA and we’re happy to be here. The staff is professional and helpful, the maintenance staff is amazing and gets requests in one day, sometimes in the same day.
Moved here at the beginning of April and I’ve loved it ever since. Quiet, nice neighborhood. The people in my building are friendly and the staff is always polite and professional. Even my dog has enjoyed our time here.
This far my experience here has been really good! The apartment is wonderful, no issues with neighbors, the pool is great. No issues with the area or feeling safe. Would recommend!
I have lived at Arium Pinnacle Ridge since June 2019 and the experience could not be better. From the moment I submitted my application, Justin at the main office not only answered all of my questions, but helped me complete all necessary forms quickly. Now that I live on the property, the staff at Pinnacle Ridge have gone above and beyond to make living here so enjoyable. I feel like I hit the jackpot. Thanks!
Imani & Brad were absolutely wonderful and well informed on the floor plans, and as someone who’s very indecisive they were a lot of help!
All the staff from the front office to the maintenance crew are professional, friendly and service oriented. In the 13 years Ive lived here have had no issues that have not been efficiently resolved.
Living at Arium has been wonderful! They are incredibly accommodating and made our move in process smooth and communicative. Great location and easy to use bus system right to Duke. Very happy with our decision!
The first years experience was excellent. But recently it is getting worse and worse. First, the service by the leasing office is not longer efficient. Previously, the staff took your requests seriously and usually the problems were solved in 1-2 days. But now, after a staff turnover several months ago, your problems are never going to be solved. For example, there is some broken furniture in the stairway for more than a month. Although the leasing office promises that they will take care of them every time I remind them, nobody will actually take it away. Second, it no longer makes you feel safe. You notice some cars that dont have silencers passing by your building with high speed and loud music. I doubt whether they are residents. The front gate, which was advertised by them, never closes as it should be after 6pm weekdays and on weekends.
Arium is super responsive- if there is ever an issue or if you have questions in general- which I really appreciate. The community areas are well-kept and everyone at the office is really nice and they put on events throughout the month. The only downside I have experienced is that since this is a dog-friendly complex, there can be a lot of barking in the dog park area at late hours, but its balanced out by getting to see so many cute dogs, and doesnt really impact my overall positive experience living here. I was happy to renew my lease for the next year and look forward to staying here, especially considering what you get for the price.
Cool place, good staff. My problem is my neighbors. This is my second year at the apartment. The first year was fine. I renewed my lease too. However, this year my neighbors are awful. They keep reporting noice complaints. When the courtesy officer arrives at my apartment they confirm we are doing nothing wrong. This has happened several times the past few months. I don’t appreciate having my nights interrupted constantly.Just a heads up...
I love this place! Weve only been here a month, but its amazing! The staff is super friendly, maintenance is extremely helpful, and I love all the amenities. Theres a pool, a gym, a clubhouse, and a small dog park. Also the view from our patio is amazing. We have a little creek behind our apartment and it makes me feel like Im not in the city, which is nice.
Great assistance with request for help from Justin in the clubhouse to help a girl scout troop with a project! Rebbecca was very supportive of a special project that my daugter & I did this past weekend!! Excellent Staff!
I have an apartment in Arium Pinnacle Ridge. The floor plan is 2 bed 2 bath B2. I have to move to California more than two months before the end of my lease for a new job. Im looking for someone to take the rest of my lease so I dont need to pay the penalty to end my lease. Its AVAILABLE NOW. Please let me know if youre interested. The lease will be signed with the office so theres no risk.
I have lived here 6 months now and love this apartment complex! I live in the B2 unit with a friend and it has plenty of space for the both of us. The community and location are great--less than a 5 minute drive from Target off 15-501 or and many other supermarkets off MLK. Valet trash was just added to the amenities, which I really enjoy. Whenever we have a maintenance request it is fixed the next day or sooner--one Sunday we turned on the heat in our apartment, it caused the breaker to shut off and wouldnt turn back on from the box inside or outside the apartment. Emergency maintenance was there within 30 minutes of my call and got everything working again. The staff is very friendly and personable--Brittany was my leasing consultant when I first toured and signed the lease and was very friendly and helpful during the process. She still recognizes me when I come into the office. One minor complaint is that the ceilings between apartment levels are a little thin. Im not talking about the walls--I live with a roommate and have no problems with noise going through walls in the apartment. But we live on the top floor, and sometimes I can hear our downstairs neighbor moving throughout their apartment (things like when they turn on the shower, or open/close their balcony door). Like I said, this is a minor complaint, I dont hear them everyday, and noise has never woken me up/kept me from sleeping. All in all I really enjoy living here!
Gated. Nice single apt available. Friendly community
My husband and I have enjoyed living here! Location is great and the apartment was in excellent condition when we moved in.
My husband and I moved into ARIUM Pinnacle Ridge Apartments in August and have absolutely loved it so far! Its a perfect location for my Husband who goes to Duke. Its a quick drive there! Its also a super easy drive to both downtown Durham and Chapel Hill! We have had a wonderful experience so far with quick maintenance service and kind and helpful staff. We would recommend living here to anyone!
This is a great place for Grad students in Durham to live. The staff is so helpful and friendly! The apartments are very spacious and have washers and dryers in the units. The pool and gym are great amenities for residents as well. These are located within a 10 minute drive of downtown Durham but grocery shopping and everything else you might need are in spitting distance!
Wonderful place to live! The apartments are clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Any time we have had a maintenance issue it has been taken care of within the same day. The staff is responsive, attentive, and genuinely committed to the residents. Kelsey in the front office always follows up on any issue to make sure it was taken care of. We cannot say enough good things about this complex.
Ive lived at Arium for about a year now and am very happy with them! Maintenance is always quick and they plow the snow in the winter immediately so I can get out. Theyve arranged for a courtesy officer to help with security. I have no complaints!
Lived there three years with no issues.
I lived at Pinnacle Ridge for four years, and it is by far the best apartment home Ive ever had. The buildings are older (1980s I think?) but well constructed with great floor plans/amenities and lovely outdoor landscaping. The apartments are constructed so the shared walls are in main living areas such as the kitchen, never a bedroom, which helps with noise reduction. This was key as I worked night shift and needed to sleep during the day, I never had to deal with noisy neighbors while trying to sleep. The neighborhood is very friendly and there are always people about jogging, walking dogs, etc. I always felt very safe there. The thing that really makes this place so great though, is the people. Pinnacle Ridge has one of the best management teams Ive ever seen - they are kind, friendly, responsive, and take the time to get to know you as an individual. If I walked into the clubhouse, they knew my name, even if I didnt know theirs. If there was ever a maintenance concern, they took care of it right away. If there was a delay, they notified me as soon as possible. For example, someone fell in my bathroom and knocked some fixtures off the wall. They needed to order a part to replace it and left a message on the machine to let me know - Ive never had a management team so attentive. My only regret is that I had to move out of town - otherwise I would have loved to live there for another four years!
The staff has been excellent and very responsive! I love my apartment home and am so impressed with the excellent floor plan. Every apartment has at least two views... none of this windows only looking one direction!! Lots of light and a real feeling of a home rather than an apartment ♥️!
Overall, I’ve had a great experience living here, so much so that I have renewed my lease. The maintenance team is very responsive, the complex has a cabin-in-the-woods feel, and the dog park is a great place to build community.
I moved to Pinnacle Ridge in June 2015 and have been living here since. I do have a lot of good things to say about this apartment complex. Actually I have recommended two of my colleagues to move here. The view outside the club house is very pretty and our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The facilities are pretty good too, there is a pool, a barbecue area, and two gyms, which I go every other day. Last but not least, the staff members often ask us for suggestions to improve different aspects of APR and to ensure the tenants have a better living experience here. One minor concern/question I have about APR is that I am not sure this place is a safe place because I sometimes saw several police cars patrolling and taking to people.
I moved here April of 2016 and have been so happy with this complex. For the location, you cant beat it and the staff are amazing. The maintenance team are the best, and Benny, the Maintenance Supervisor is always so efficient. I had some problems when we had some heavy rain come through and Chris, the property manager was really helpful throughout the whole process. I love the pool the best and cant wait for the weather to get better so we can get back to enjoying it. I also feel safe here, which is really important. They also continue to make improvements and plan social events, which makes it feel more and more like a community. I really have nothing negative to say about this place!
Wonderful place to live. The staff are friendly, warm, and easy to work with. Grounds are clean and well kept. Apartments are spacious and modern. Great gym/pool area. Check them out!
Just recently moved into this complex. I have only positive things to say about the friendly staff members, maintenance workers, and the apartment complex. The complex is very clean, and everything was up to par when we moved in. If there is an issue; its resolved very efficiently and quickly. Kelsey has been great!
Ive been here 3 years and Ive been quite happy here. My apartment is a good size for the price, and management and maintenance are friendly and responsive. Theyve also been taking steps to improve the property since taking over last year. Im looking forward to the convenience of valet trash removal which is about to go into effect. All in all a good place to live.
Moved here about a week ago after time-consuming apt search. Nice community, hidden in woods, safe and inclusive, staff are friendly and helpful (Monica is very sweet). Buildings are bit outdated but renovated units look good and modern inside. The only complaint i have is about package delivery. All packages (even large and heavy furniture) will be sent to package room which is great overall (keeping them safe), but its better to have someone in the team willing to help move them. I can never move those huge furniture packages by myself. Asked twice this week but the only answer i got was they normally dont help move packages bc it could lead to damage, you can ask your friends or others to help. The lady in the office said she could try to coordinate with maintenance team and see whether they were able to help but no response since then. If thats the case, I would rather let FedEX/UPS deliver to my door and take my own risk of losing them. Also the access to package room is not very easy with many stairs.Good experience as a new resident for most parts tho, just not very happy with this situation.
Ive lived at Pinnacle Ridge since late July of 2016. Ive been very happy at the complex - everyone always answers any questions I have, and the office and maintenance staffs are both very friendly. We havent had any major maintenance issues, and I appreciate the complexs willingness to accept packages for us and quick communication when something arrives. Shout out to leasing consultant Brittany Barefoot, who was extremely responsive and understanding while she helped me find the perfect apartment from across the country. I would definitely give a positive recommendation of the complex.
Definitely the best, most attentive, strongest staff Ive ever had. They are extremely resident-focused and a fabulous team. The property is well-maintained at all times and I never feel like I couldnt call and get someone in the case of an emergency. A+++++++
Living here at Arium has been most pleasurable. I love the gated security feature. The property is well cared for and the staff is courteous and friendly. Its location is convenient to shopping, gas, and highways. The maintenance department scores high in my book. Once a reqiest is entered, they are quick to make repairs and are always professionalOverall, this is a great community.
APR is a great place to live. I love my apartment-- it has a large balcony, huge windows with a nice view, and great natural lighting. All the staff Ive interacted with are friendly and helpful, and theyre seemingly always looking for ways to improve (they just added a valet trash and recycling program).
The office staff is friendly, the maintenance is quick, and the apartments are pretty nice. Its close to Duke. The fitness center is pretty large and well maintained. It can get a little loud around the start and end of the school year, but overall its pretty nice for graduate student purposes.
EDIT: Arium replied to this review and has yet to respond to any of my private emails to resolve any of the issues, showing that they only care about their reputation and are negligent when it comes to the individual tenant. In March of 2019, I noticed mold in my apartment and reported it to both management and maintenance, noting my hesitation to resign my lease. After three maintenance requests per week for several months, they were unresponsive, leading the mold growth to expand to much of my furniture and belongings, as well as negatively impact both my health and my dog’s health. Management also refused to test the mold and an independent lab test results verified the presence of two types of mold, one being “heavy amounts of black mold.”Ultimately, Arium let me out of my lease early, seeming to admit their own guilt. They have refused to reimburse my lost property and uninhabitable conditions and other residents have also had the same experience.
I moved into my apartment last September without reviewing it because I was moving in from out of state. When I got here there were a few minor problems; leaky sinks, paint chipped on walls, few lights that didnthe work, spider and cockroach incidents (which I am on the lowest level where my windows are literally on the ground and its NC so some bugs are to be expected). It may sound like a lot but all of the problems were 2 second fixes and probably could have been avoided if I got to do a walk through before hand. The only issue we ever noticed with the walls (granted we have no neighbors on either side since we are on the ground level, only upstairs) was that you can hear the water from the bathroom upstairs and at one point a couple lived upstairs with a dog that barked a lot. It wasnt super loud and if you had a TV on or were doing laundry you couldnt even tell. The location is ideal, minutes from downtown Durham, minutes from Duke, minutes from Chapel Hill, minutes from literally any place you wanna go! And its also really nice having the office receive all of your packages and having the complex gated. It makes it feel like a really safe place to live because you hear awful things sometimes about other places. The maintenance staff were always AWESOME in responding same day to problems I ran into and they were just really sweet. I also loved all of the people in the office. (Shout out to Chris who was my favorite!) They always answered any of my emails and calls promptly and made my first apartment experience a hassle free one. The place isnt perfect but no place is and if I ever questioned anything I never had an issue voicing it to the office.Honestly the people were so helpful and the grounds, pool area and features of my apartment were very nice. All in all I enjoyed my stay and I dont know how accurate some of these other reviews are!
I love everything about this place. I moved from a section 8 and section 8 sometimes comes with some super sketchy neighbors. Arium was a breath of fresh air. I was welcomed by happy greetings the day I moved in. The staff is amazing and very attentive. Brittany is probably the nicest person I have ever met.
I cant recommend this apartment complex enough. I moved here with my boyfriend on May 11th, so we havent been here long. So far, Ive worked with everyone in the office at some point, and theyve all been incredibly helpful and kind. Ive never had a bad experience with the office here or the maintenance. They go out of their way to make living here a pleasant experience. Rent is affordable and a great value. I dont quite understand the negative reviews--the gates work fine, management is awesome, and it is a place that feels like home! Barbara is right, the only place we can hear neighbors noises is in the bathroom. The bedroom and living room are incredibly quiet. Highly recommended!
I have moved here for months. I love this place so much! This is one of the best choices I have ever made. This is my first time to rent an apartment by myself.I just didnt know any tips about how to find a good place before.Employees here are very nice, caring and warm.Brittany, the leasing consultant, is very pretty and kind. She solved the assembling problem for me.Anthony, helped me a lot and keeped in touch with me when I was searching for apartment. The best thing is they always keep our packages safely and inform us timely!
Love living here for the past 5 years! Although it is a large apartment complex, its quite and I can easily work from home. The amenities are really nice and its a convenient distance to Duke.
I am on my second year living at Arium, and have really enjoyed it here. The property is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is extremely is extremely accommodating. All of my interactions with the assistant property manager Kelsey have been very positive, as she goes out of her way to ensure the happiness of tenants.
This is a wonderful complex, maintenance has always been prompt and very helpful even after hours. The surrounding area is beautiful and the office is very friendly. We truly enjoy living here.
The apartments and the complex look very nice until the day you move in. We moved in the winter and have regularly seen cockroaches in the apartment. Now that we are moving into summer the problem is chronic. Really bad. The maintenance says they do Pest control. I do not know what treatment they do but it just handles the problem for a week or so. Maintenance staff is terribly incompetent. They come in to fix one problem and always leave another problem in the apartment. The apartments have really fragile walls and the paint looks expensive but is cheap - exactly like their apartments - look great with a number of problems masked under the pretty exterior. Also, they are quite expensive. We are paying almost 1100$ for a two bedroom and I can assure you, you will find better ones for less rent. Do not get lured by the courteous front office staff. They are really nice and they are not going to tell you how bad this place actually is. DO NOT COME HERE!
Fantastic living experience! Safe and quiet. The staff is polite and responsive.
We sold our house and moved to Durham. We found this location and was very pleased with the price for the apartment. We have a dog park, pool, gym, car washing station, food trucks, and such a friendly staff. We have a lower level apartment and utitizling the yard for our Saint Bernard was a major factor in selecting this location. Finally, we are so close to everything. We can walk and get food, drive to any store you want within 20 mins and best of all... we are walking distance to Barley Labs (our dogs favorite bar).
I want to move here but I need a 4 room floor plan and their website says that they a 4 room plan but it’s never available. I have over a year looking in their website if they have a 4 room apartment available but I’m never lucky to find one.
I love living here. Management is always friendly and tries to be helpful with whatever situations I may have. However, I have never been happy with the vallet waste service because it is a waste of my money because I live right next to the dumpster and take my garbage there everyday. Overall, I have enjoyed living here.
Terrible. Avoid at all costs if you can. The management has been awful and negligent- much worse since the turnover in ownership. They really do not care once they have your signature on a lease. They hustled us into a crumbling second story apartment after we signed a lease for a top floor one. As other reviewers have noted, the walls are paper thin. We hear the guys who live above us peeing, every drop, every time. Its totally disgusting. The floors creak insanely loudly, and the guys who live above us are nocturnal. My partner and I have not gotten a full nights sleep in the last six months. There is such an unreasonable amount of noise that our downstairs neighbors have complained. In short, if you have any other options dont live here, or at least dont live in building 7, maybe some of the others are better.
UPDATE: I have lived here for 2.5 years now, and overall Im happy to live here. Rent is reasonable but they hit you with quite a few fees -- the set monthly $40 for trash is completely ridiculous. Maintenance issues can take a while to resolve (but the maintenance staff themselves are very friendly and knowledgeable).ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ive lived here for four months so far, and its great! The location is convenient - I work at Duke and its an easy 20 minute bus ride. The staff are helpful and the pool and fitness center are clean. The apartments are a little older so things do break occasionally, but the maintenance has been great and often fixes things the same day. One small complaint I have is the lack of sidewalks and bike racks; the community is not very pedestrian- or bicyclist-friendly. That said, its a great place to live and Ive already recommended Pinnacle Ridge to friends!
I have been here for 6 months and everything is great. The apartment is comfortable and staff are very nice. Britney is really sweet, nice and supportive!!
Awesome place to live. Nice neighborhood, great location and friendly staff. I really enjoying living here and will definitely recommend friends to stay here too.
Great place to live as a young 20 something looking for a great dog community! The leasing office is always helpful and kind which makes me feel very well taken care of!
Arium Pinnacle Ridge is a great place to live in Durham NC. I have been a local resident for nearly 8 years and have stayed at 5 different apartment complexes. Arium truly is a great place to live. The maintenance team works well to meet the needs of the residents and to do so in a timely manner! The staff is attentive to detail and are always welcoming when you come visit! Oh and they do offer a preferred employer discount if you work at Duke!
It is in a very convenient location (about 10 mins from Duke and 15 mins from Downtown Durham, 1 min to 15-501). The apartments are kind of old but very nicely preserved. Most of the apartments have a nice and fairly spacious patio.Pros:Lots of trees and nice gardens, The pool and the grill area are great for summer pool parties. The staff is friendly efficient and professional (hard to find complexes with good staff in Durham)Cons:They have a nice small gym but the machines are old and not great variety, also sometimes in not super clean.
Don’t rent here since Priderock bought the complex it has really gone downhill. I’ve lived here 10 years and have loved it but now its an embarrassment to have anyone visit me here because it has become so trashy. The pool/fitness center/package room has been closed for a month due to poor maintenance. Office staff unresponsive and just lie. Stay away.
My husband and I moved into Arium Pinnacle Ridge Apartments this year in September. The area the complex in in Durham is very central and close to 40 & 85, which is very convenient. Also, the complex offers a variety of different options on floor plans for each apartment. They have a year round heated pool and a 24/7 access gym in the clubhouse! Theyre dog friendly and have walking areas with the doggy bags, which is perfect for anyone with dogs or animals! The staff is very friendly and helpful; especially Brittany who helped us with leasing. The maintenance crew is on top of their game when responding and usually come by the next day to check everything out. Id highly recommend checking out Arium Pinnacle Ridge!
I love living at Arium Pinnacle Ridge in Durham. Everything about this place is great - the apartments are spacious and well taken care of, the complex features a 24 hour gym and pool (no need for an extra membership!), and the staff are always helpful and incredibly nice. I feel like they almost always offer to help more than they should! Anytime something is broken or needs to be looked at by maintenance it is taken care of within a day. Noise from neighbors is never a problem. The apartment is nestled in a wooded area and the landscaping is always well taken care of around the apartments. Nothing but good things to say about this apartment!
Safe, beautiful complex with great amenities
Excellent place to live! I highly recommend it! ;)
First of all, the other reviews are totally fake. I dont buy my only regret is that Im moving out of town, otherwise Id love to stay here for another four years! Who says that about an apartment? A fake reviewer. (Convince me otherwise, Barbara.) Second of all, its probably not so terrible to warrant one star, but I wanted to catch some attention and bring the overall rating down closer to where it should be.The apartments themselves are fine, other than the occasional cockroach, but thats common to the area and the buildings are old.**But theres a break-in every other week, and they havent done anything to fix that problem!**The gates are always broken, and people who plan these break-ins are clearly watching for students and know when we go home for the week, or even when we go out for the night. First floor apartments with windows that face the woods are just sitting ducks. Here are a few examples of break-ins I know about:- My car was broken into when I accidentally left an empty Target shipping box in the passenger seat. They didnt take anything (because I didnt have anything in there), but they opened the trunk and searched through everything.- K lived on the first floor of building 9 last year, had everything stolen while he was at the library studying for finals, and moved out. The guy who lives in his apartment now has already had a break-in, but he stayed.- E lived in building 19 on the second floor, had his giant TV stolen when he went home for break, and moved out.- G lived in building... 22? (okay, I forgot which building) and had his laptop and TV stolen over break, and he moved to the second floor of building 3.- T lived in building 18 on the first floor, and his apartment was broken into less than two hours after he left for the night. He moved up a floor.- Ws car was also broken into; all her CDs and her jacket were taken.I agree that the people in the office are friendly, and maintenance is actually on top of things, which is great. But they keep raising the rent without improving the safety issues... Everyone I know wants to leave this place. Please stop moving in, so they realize they need to change things finally!
Good living place but WORST leasing office when you move out. They ask tenants to pay for the replacement of the whole carpet even when the carpet is brand-new, which cost over 1000 dollars. Staffs attitude so bad, threaten tenants when tenants want to ask for information. DO NOT CHOOSE IT.
Good exprience in Arium!
The apartments are old and I got the flu from the horrible conditions once. Oh, and one time there was a massive leak that they passed off as a heater malfunction.
