I have only been here for almost two months, but honestly, this place is just amazing. I moved for a new job, and needed to find a place fast. I was able to find this place, sign a lease and move in all within 4 days. The staff is friendly, and they handle things so well; whenever I have questions, they never hesitate to answer. I love being downtown and hearing the traffic. I get to see fireworks from my window almost every other weekend because of the ballpark I think. Its such a great location and very convenient (I work in RTP and this is 13 minutes away)! They handle maintenance requests in a timely manner. They care about their tenants! I have no complaints. & most importantly, there are no bugs!! The apartments are a good size and the trash valet is a game changer! so thankful for the staff and to be a member of this community.

Bell West End Apartments is a great place to live in. If you are looking for a nice, quiet and high-quality place this is it. The property manager (Matt) and his team are always happy to help you out with whatever you need. It is very close to Downtown and minutes away from Duke University by bike, car or bus.

I’ve lived here almost a year now, crazy. I worked with Gabe since Day 1 and I expected the service level to drop once I signed my lease, but honestly, it’s gotten even better. He’s been extremely helpful with any concerns I’ve had (they’ve all been minuscule, don’t worry).I highly recommend Bell West End to anyone in the area. At least check them out and take a tour. Everything has been great here, from parking situation to maintenance. Craig (in maintenance) is incredibly friendly and helpful. He is extremely responsive and helps with any maintenance feeds I’ve ever had.I’ve loved my time here and plan to stay here at least another year or 2, depending on my job situation!

Watch out kids! This place will try to steal your money! They have fine print embedded for two months notice before moving out. Most of kids do not read fine prints, therefore, this place “robs” two months rent extra! You thought your lease is over, but there are two months of snake tail follows.

It has been a great year here. The neighbors are quiet. The building is new and modern. Maintenance quickly available. There’s a train that goes through Durham downtown and you can hear that early in the morning, thats common to most DT apartments. The gym is not big. It is a New management that just started last month. It would be important to share the following. There was an issue with the autopay and rent fees that could have lead to late fees payment.Nicole, the business manager was a key person in solving this issue. She was available by email, easy to communicate with and ready to step in to solve a frustrating problem. It is relieving to know you can rely on her judgment and management skills for a great living experience!

I love it here! To be entirely honest, I wasnt sure I would like it here initially because it seemed too good to be true and a bit more expensive than other places I had looked at. But it really is worth it and actually turns out cheaper for me all things considered! Its downtown but in a quiet little nook. Im a 5 min bus ride from work (Duke). Bus stop is right in front and buses come all the time. There are other bus stops

Bell West End has proven to be a great home! This is the second Bell community I’ve leased from, and they have both proven to be exceptional.Matt in the leasing office was able to answer all of the questions I had, and he continues to be a great source of knowledge and assistance with all of my property needs.The staff is quick to respond to maintenance requests through the online portal, and I’ve never had a request go unanswered.Would definitely lease from Matt and/or Bell West End again in a heartbeat.

So I checked this place out with my husband, and the property was amazing! I loved the lounge and pool area. As soon as we came in we were greeted by Gabe and he showed us around. He was about to answer all of our questions and was extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. If you ever interested in a tour, ask for Gabe.

Beautiful property with EXCELLENT customer service! The manager, Matt R., took the time out of his busy day to show me around the community and made me feel incredibly welcome. He answered all of my (many) questions and didn’t rush me. Customer service like that is what set Bell West End apart from all the other communities in the area I viewed!

I stopped in to check out rentals for a friend who is considering a move to downtown Durham. I met with Matthew, who showed me the model apartment and the common areas of the community. The apartment was surprisingly spacious, much more so than other downtown rentals. The community is beautifully kept and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Great location, walking distance to lots of things in downtown.

Coming up on a year of living in BWE and have had a great experience. Clean community, great amenities. The pool is great in the summer!

Ive had a good experience living here, the staff is very helpful and the location is good. Whenever Ive had to call maintenance, theyve responded quickly. Recently, Ive had to make a few maintenance requests and Chris Hall has come both times and done a great job helping me out.

I checked out this place with my wife a couple weeks ago. Gabe was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. The property was clean and well kept. Safe to say, we will definitely be coming here once our lease ends in a couple months.

Although I have only needed to place two maintenance requests during my stay here, the maintenance guy (I think his name is Chris Haithcock) was so polite and completed both of my work orders in a very timely manner.

The office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Gabriel and Matt laid out all my options for different floor plans as well as availability. Craig from maintenance is always here to fix any small issues that cropped up but overall it is a wonderful property and I wouldnt want to live anywhere else!

I am a preferred vendor for Bell West End. I work all over NC and I have to say that Bell West is one of the best kept properties I frequent. Chris Haithcock keeps the facilities and the swimming pool in excellent shape at all times. Due to his experience and knowledge it is always easier on us whenever we need to get involved.

Have enjoyed my time at Bell West End. Location is great and staff is always so helpful with any question or need. I had an issue with the dishwasher in my apartment one evening recently and Chris Hall had it repaired early the next morning. I certainly appreciated the prompt response, as well as, the professional and congenial followup!

I just moved here in the fall and so far so good. I am new to the area but felt right at home from the minute I first came for a viewing. The office staff was professional and courteous and Chris Haithcock -the maintenance guy- have been quick to respond and efficient. I love having the washer and dryer inside my apartment and I am able to have my dog here with me.I would absolutely refer a friend here!

As a individual that travels a lot, I found the perfect place at West End.Because of my travels I have seen multiple apartment complexes in most States of Eastern United States.For one the Management group that maintains this property I wanted to say thanks.Because of my career I am unable to have a house where I have a lot of maintenance, however they maintain this property like I would my own. I got to meet a lot of personnel from the maintenance department, and their names escape me, however I do remember Chris Hall which was the last maintenance personnel I had personal dialogue with... And for him to take the time to explain some things about apartment living that I never understood.. I would like to say thank you Mr Hall for all the good advice, and treating my family like we were more than just a unit number. I actually have had two acquaintances from my job that now reside at this location, all because of word of mouth.Thank you guys for doing the stand-up job.

Ive had experiences with several mid rise communities in downtown Durham, but absolutely loved Bell West End. What stood out is the exceptional management team, which makes a huge impact on the community. In particular, Chris Haithcock, the maintenance supervisor was wonderful. Chris was always attentive, dedicated to resolving any issues, and friendly.

Convenient place to live for me; right by the highway! Although most residents seem to be in their 20s, I havent had any problems with them. I also have not been disappointed, even when other minor issues arise (which will happen wherever you live).When the compressor on my fridge was acting up, one of the maintenance guys Craig came immediately to fix it. He was very helpful, and was even able to answer my questions when I was pestering him while he was working :)

I lived in Bell West End for over 2 years and had a great experience. The apartment size and features were exactly what I was looking for. The location is great. Gabriel was the nicest staff member I have ever met - he responded to every email and was super friendly any time I had a question or saw him around.

I have been living at Bell West End since 2018 and I love this place! The maintenance supervisor Chris Haithcock has always made sure everything is working and or fixed right the first time. My fridge went out last weekend and he came out and fixed it right away.

I do not live at this community but my boyfriend has for several years. The property is very well maintained. My boyfriend put in a maintenance request for a clogged drain and within an hour the maintenance manager Chris Hathcock was at his door. I was super impressed!

A great place to call home. The entire staff was extremely accommodating and friendly especially Craige. It could not be better located and was amidst a lot of shopping, restaurants, transportation and schools.

Bell West End has been mine and my wifes home since February 2018. Even before we saw it we knew this was the right place for us. Centrally located, we can walk to the local Co-Op Market, west and east Duke campuses, and the Durham Farmers market on Saturdays. Gabriel, the Assistant Community Manager is the man! Always ready to answer any and all questions and assists with resolving any issue. A constant professional and truly sincere young man. And the management team makes sure to keep all residents abreast of community activities and routine maintenance checks. The maintenance crew, Chris Haithcock, Chris Hall and Craig Hillman are the best! As soon as we submit a maintenance order (which is rare) they are on it. Reliable, knowledgeable and extremely nice group of guys. Bell West End provides luxury style living without the luxury costs. Great pool area, gym and yoga studio, comfortable study areas, mini doggy park and large bike room for storing bikes. The convenience of being able to jump on Highway 147 is a life saver. We went to tour Bell West End Apartments a few weeks ago and it was amazing! Gabriel and all of the staff were very helpful. Gabriel gave us the tour and he was very knowledgable, answering every questions and concerns that we had.

Of course my heat was not working when the outside temperatures dropped —I was not happy. The worker who came was named Craig. He showed me how to program the thermostat to keep the apartment at the exact temperature I wanted it to be.

The move in was really easy. The apartment unit and the amenities are clean and well-sanitized. Location is great, and staff is really nice!

Went and checked this place out as i was looking for an apartment close to the highway, called and came in to take a tour, Gabriel greeted me and showed me around and went through all the amenities this place has to offer. Bell West End and the staff there has always taken care of us since we moved in. They regularly communicate with residents, both in terms of community-wide events and special occasions. We’ve even locked ourselves out on a weekend before and they’ve always made sure we were able to get back in!

Nice staff and neighbors. renovated appliances my favorite part is the pool i love setting in the pool area and definitely love the heated pool. The couple times i ve been there in the morning i would always see Craig from the maintenance adjusting the seats and making sure they’re 6ft appart thats a big thumbs up considering the covid19 situation.Overall its a really good place to live in and one that you could actually call home .

Wonderful living space and community. It is in an exciting downtown Durham location near the American Tobacco Campus, the Durham Bull Stadium, shops, restaurants and a short distance from Duke Gardens, hospital and university. It is in a convenient transportation hub near Amtrak, TTA to downtown Chapel Hill and RTP, NCSU and downtown Raleigh NC. It is also convenient to RDU. Maintenance Staff is really nice, especially Chris Haithcock replacing my noisy fridge for a new one in no time.

Beautiful building and a great location BUT,The fire alarm goes off once a month.Edit: sometimes they send a warning about fire alarm testing, but more often the alarm goes off due to an error in their system. Live here if you fancy standing outside in your pajamas at 2 am every couple weeks. See picture below of the most recent resident gathering with fire trucks.They make you pay $25 for a parcel delivery service and refuse to hold packages for residents. Most places will at least have a small package room open during business hours but Bell West End apparently doesn’t have enough room in their office to hold packages.They also charge a $25/month valet trash fee, which would make sense if you lived in a traditional apartment complex with an outdoor dumpster. Every floor has a trash and recycling room which is very convenient, but you still have to pay for valet.The internet and cable package is REQUIRED and is $75/month. There is no getting out of paying for the cable. The internet goes out constantly for hours at a time with no explanation.Speaking of nickel and diming, they also charge a monthly $2 pest control fee.They made many renovations in 2017 which is great...I guess. Management did not do a great job at communicating the extent of how much their renovations would affect current residents. The first 3 months I lived here the lobby and mailroom floor was covered with cardboard and dust. They shut down floors of the parking deck for 2 weeks to install convex mirrors and “clean.” During this time, residents were asked to do street parking and walk. By the way, legal street parking near the building is limited. I visited the office and asked where I should park and walk since I usually come home later at night. The person at the front office told me to park at American tobacco and walk (10-15 minutes). That’s an additional 20-30 minutes added to my daily commute. When I told her that I didn’t feel comfortable walking home alone at night, she said they were considering reimbursing folks for Uber rides to and from. There was never an announcement sent out about this option and she never followed up with me to tell me what they decided.Bottom line:Management is not great at communication.They are here to make $$$ off residents, even if it means turning little tricks. Cheap policies for a luxury building.The fire alarm situation is not ok. People have stopped exiting the building because this is such a regular occurrence.I’m not renewing next year.

My freezer started making a really loud noise i put in a service request and Mr Craig came within 30 min and fixed it. What a nice prompt service.

Craig’s the man! Our door was not closing all the way so he made a few simple adjustments and all is good now.

Our maintenance guy at Bell is on top of his game! My garbage disposal stopped working and water was not draining. Craig was the guy who came to fix it and it only took like 2-3 minutes.

Chris Haithcock runs a very friendly, knowledgeable staff. A pleasure to deal with.

I have been a resident here for about 2.5 years now, and Im happy to say I have never questioned renewing my lease. This apartment is in a great location - near plenty of grocery stores (Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Food Lion, and the Durham Co-Op Market), a 5-10-ish minute walk to downtown restaurants and bars, the American Tobacco Campus, or Brightleaf shops, and a quick run to the Duke campus or gardens. I spend a lot of time at the pool and the gym, both of which are clean and well-maintained. In my time here I think I only experienced one fire alarm, so that is no longer a common issue. I have never had an issue with internet or parking in the deck, and maintenance requests are handled quickly. Sometimes sound carries a bit throughout the walls/floors, but thats really the only negative I can think of. The value you get for your rent cannot be beat downtown. I have a spacious modern apartment with washer/dryer, and dishwasher included, and a balcony. If it wasnt for Bell West End I wouldnt be able to afford living downtown on my own as a young professional so I am extremely grateful to still be able to find something that works for me. Special shout out to Assistant Manager Gabe, who is always ready to help with anything or answer any questions. He is awesome! All the staff I have met are really kind and professional. The cleaning crew is especially sweet. If youre looking for somewhere to land downtown I would strongly recommend Bell West End!
