Never been here before and made an appointment via the telephone with the first available stylist. Kaylee did an amazing job. She was professional, skilled, and thorough! I’ve not had good luck with hair salons in Dubuque, but this was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Kaylee and the team at Designworks.

I really needed a totally new hair style. My stylist, Bri and I discussed possibilities and she just knew what would work best based upon all the various criteria: volume, texture, shape, my lack of ability to fuss + maintain any complicated style on my own. The result was absolutely perfect! I placed my trust in Bri as she so carefully created my new fab look.

Friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable staff. I visited this business after leaving my regular salon due to them not enforcing masks, even allowing a customer into their waiting area without one. Penny makes me feel special when I come to the salon - like Im her only client when Im certainly not. She remembers all of my styling preferences and makes great suggestions. The salon is immaculately clean, warm and inviting, and run very professionally. The team at the front desk is very efficient and proactive with communication. (They know I prefer texting over phone calls and use that to communicate with me.) I recommend Designworks to anyone who is ready for a change in hair salons.

Excellent customer care! Jerica did a cut and color for my daughter and was excellent at knowing how to enhance her hair color while making corrections to the outgrowth. Her personality is an additional value! Jerica is warm, conversational and encouraging to her customers. At the end of the appointment, I could see my daughters confidence grow by the smile on her face. Feeling beautiful is worth the cost. Looking beautiful is the icing on the cake!

I had my hair cut and colored by Sierra and I am extremely satisfied with my experience! I showed her a picture of the style and color I liked and she was able to make it happen! She is very knowledgeable and a genuinely kind person. I would highly recommend this studio, as all other stylists were very nice and helpful as well.

I always love going to Design Works. Youre welcomed with kindness, they take your coat for you, offer a drink, and make you feel like you are worthy of being there for YOU. The atmosphere is always friendly, clean, and calm. Services are always delightful from a wax to a hair foil and trim to a message-- you can pamper every inch of yourself under one roof! Everyone deserves to have an experience like the one I receive everytime I go there! Thanks for all your wonderful staff!

I had multiple trials here for my wedding day hair and makeup. I was very pleased with how my hair and make up turned out the day of the wedding. They provided mimosas and coffee and the atmosphere is great. But many of my bridal party were unhappy with either their hair or makeup. A few girls had to redo makeup and even hair after arriving to the venue only an hour later. They also forgot to do one of the girls makeup, and when we learned this it was too late for her to get her makeup done (even though every person was signed up for hair and makeup). Everyone was very nice but the feedback I got from the girls was that they would explain what they wanted for hair/makeup, the artist did what they thought was best or what they were comfortable with. I would not recommend booking for an entire bridal party.

Amazing!!! Such a cute place! Just had my first facial and it was wonderful! I had the Perfecting Plant Facial and a microdermabrasion. My face has never EVER felt this great. Rebecca was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. She is definitely an expert in her field! Cant wait to go back!
