This place sucks. Not only did a member of their staff violate fair housing by retaliating against me for her own personal (and ridiculous) vendetta, but they did absolutely nothing to stop or punish her. The elevators have been down since last year, the top floors aren’t renovated, and the turnover rate for management is insane. Now I don’t even know when I’m getting my deposit back. Most of the reviews on here are fake because they steamrolled people into writing five star reviews, even if they didn’t live there. Good luck to anyone who lives there.
This place is absolute trash. If you move here you can expect the lowest quality of life. Maintenance crew does their absolute worse, management treats residents like animals and you will not enjoy your time here. I strongly advise not livening here because of all the problems this place has. Not to mention the sewage problems. Toilets do not fill correctly in the apartments and the place smells horrible. I truly hated my time spent here. DO NOT LIVE HERE. This apartment complex is a joke and the staff have zero experience in how to treat people . TAKE YOUR MONEY FAR AWAY FROM THE STUDENT LOFTS.
If you thought it was bad when Chris was the manager, come take a look at this place now. Living here in 2021 has become an absolute joke. I’ve been here for 2 years now and have always dealt with minor inconveniences that nobody should deal with at $1,000+ per month, but now, I’m used to dealing with major inconveniences on a daily basis. The elevators have been down for all of 2021. There are 3 elevators and only one has been functional the entire year. Sometimes, even all 3 of them are down. I am accustomed to waiting 10+ minutes every time I need to use the elevator. It’s honestly unbelievable. When Chris was the manager, he offered us a rent concession when we couldn’t use the elevator for one whole day during construction. Now that the elevators have been down for half of a year, we still have not heard a single word from the manager about the issue, no apology or rent concession given. It seems as though the property management has completely given up on this place. It was fairly enjoyable over a year ago, but I regret signing a lease here this year and almost every single person I’ve talked to who lives here feels the same.
Beautiful property and great staff. Located right in downtown Denver so easily accessible to all shops and dine in, which is a plus. All around great property. Sadie, the general manager on site, is so kind and was helpful to all questions we had in regards to the property. She even went the extra mile to give us a virtual tour before coming to the property and worked around our schedule. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to lease in Denver!
My daughter works there and its very nice and awesome place!
The location is in a convenient area, with the Auraria Campus a 5 minute walk away and numerous restaurants and shops nearby. The front office staff is friendly and and always ready to help with any questions. The maintenance team are absolutely phenomenal. Almost all maintenance requests are solved within 1 day (including Saturdays and Sundays). The team works quickly and makes sure that there is minimum impact on the residents life.
PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE. Auraria student lofts presents themselves as a safe and exciting place for students to fully experience the city and is truly nothing of the sort!! we were so excited to have such a place for my son to live during college and we regret it more than anything. the entire year one elevator has been working for all floors, resulting in a wait time longer than 10 minutes sometimes to even be able to go to the bottom floor. management has changed more times than should ever be acceptable and we have not been happy with a single one. we’ve had issues with laundry being stolen and HEAVY unexpected fines which are placed on the portal with no explanation. Not to mention the fact that the STUDENT lofts are not for students anymore. we’ve met many residents, including my son who are college age put with middle age roommates who are not students and have made them feel unsafe. i am in no way discriminating by age but i feel we should’ve been notified this could be a possibility for residents. This complex does not give a dime of care into the residents experience and only taking money from their mostly teenage residents, draining them of their hard earned money for their own benefit. save yourself from what will be the worst lease of your life.
This place is sad. The staff is so pathetic and I really feel bad for anyone who lives here. I advise staying far away from this dump.
Super helpful staff - I spoke with Elise and she answered all of my questions super fast, and sent me everything I needed! By far the most helpful person Ive talked to while trying to find housing. Made a stressful experience go smoothly!
Id rather set my money on fire, then pay to live here. Truly not a good experience.
The staff at ASL are awesome; kind, effecient, etc.. but I have to warn you: DO NOT MOVE HERE! Its not the staffs fault though. That lies with the parent management company. Since Ive been here only 1 out of 3 elevators is operational (and that one breaks down daily, no joke!) so good luck getting to class on time. The A/C in my unit didnt work and was irrepararble so I literally had to move to another unit on a higher floor (see previous elevator issues.) Im currently dealing with lighting that flashes constantly due to electrical issues... waiting on that one to be fixed. the building is in dire need or repairs so If you have other options definitely explore them!
Fantastic experience for students! Safe, clean, fun atmosphere and convenient location to downtown and campus. Friendly staff, especially Jabrel (? Not sure how to spell his name)-super helpful and nice.
The lofts are a great location set in Downtown Denver. Theres some good views from some of the rooms and you can easily get around by walking or riding the light rail. Aia at the front office will always do her best to listen to your concerns and help resolve any issues.
I lived here for two years and mostly things were postive! I liked that each person had their own space and door in each room! The location was amazing-- very safe area. Considering it was in Denver, the cost was fair. Still expensive though. Maintenance were pretty quick to solve any issues as well. Auraria itself is safe too. They give you key fobs to get anywhere. The management was nice to me, however I knew many people who had problems with them... The elevators broke down a lot and so if you lived on one of the higher floors (I was on the 27th) it took a good 10 minutes or so before you could get down. The gym was nice, but in an inconvenient place. And the pool was... Well, it wasnt really a pool. It was only in the sun a portion of the year too, so I only went once. The laundry room was great, except the machine only take credit cards, so be aware of that.Regarding the rooms, they were in better condition than most student housing. Things broke occasionally, but like I said, maintenance was quick to come and fix it.PARKING SUCKS.It is very expensive (around $200/month) and you are not guaranteed a spot. Since the performing arts center is right there, sometimes I would not be able to find a parking spot in the garage due to people parking there on event nights. It is also very small and my car got hit a lot by other cars trying to squeeze into parking spots. The Curtis garage itself is connected to the apartment building and a 7/11, so it is convenient but... Yeah.Anyways, I enjoyed living here... It is better than the Regency.
I called to find out a bit of information on apartments and possibly a tour for a friend of mine. JaBrel was who I spoke with and he was extremely informative, friendly, and helpful! I always appreciate great customer service and think people should know that this place has it!
Violated fair housing and is now unresponsive when trying to locate missing deposit checks. Fine building but dont expect anything great
I really enjoy it here! The views are beautiful and the move in is easy. I had a lot of help from Elise, and she was polite and helpful the whole time.
My son lived here for almost two years, leaving due to COVID. We fulfilled our end of the lease, paying rent for the four months he didnt live there. When we finally received our deposit refund, the check bounced!! I reached out to the office and they said they would look into it. This is less than satisfactory!
The management here recently has taken a change for the better compared to the previous management here when I moved in 3 years ago. The front desk staff of Aia, Elise and Jabrel have always been able to answer any question I have regarding a lease renewal special, transferring apartments, etc. Carlos & Jordan are phenomenal about completing work orders Ive submitted; there have even been times Ive asked about something I think needs fixed and theyll come up at look at it right away. Or, theyll notice something that needs to be fixed while completing a separate work order in my unit and will just fix it while Im there. The entire staff at ASL is wonderful and the location of the building is super.
Sadie really made my time living here worth it. Shes amazing and so helpful! Best real estate customer service Ive ever experienced.
The management here has improved immensely over the last 10 months! The maintenance team does outstanding work in a timely manner. The student staff at the front office never fail to make leasing inquiry easy and are extremely polite. Jabrel, Elise, and Aia go above and beyond with promotions and events at the lofts and make living here a lot more fun :)
Wonderful staff and absolutely stunning property. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and management here. As I previously stated, wonderful staff, but Aia in particular has been extremely helpful to me with any questions and concerns I have had in the past. I never felt condescension or annoyance when I asked questions, very helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend living here to anyone looking for housing in denver!!
Living here was a great experience. JaBrel was super helpful and always made sure that I was taken care of. Loved staying there!
ASL has made being a cosigner easy. They promptly send notification of policy and leasing agreement updates. Aia sends out all her updates as soon as possible.
Carlos and Jordan did a great job fixing our hot water heater. We had been without hot water for a few days and our maintenance office wasn’t able to get someone to us, so these gentlemen came from denver to Greeley and fixed it in no time (15-20 mins).
These lofts are absolutely beautiful and the people who work here are amazing. Ja’brel works in the front office and is always so lovely and welcoming. I would highly recommend living here especially if Ja’brel is here.
Great location and staff that truly care about the safety of the residents. Ive had great experiences with Aia and she was always ready and willing to help.
I was very impressed with the knowledge of the student staff at the lofts. All three of the students that I interacted with were very helpful and kind. They knew the building and the contracts very well. Aia, Elise, and Jabrel are a great asset to your business.
This property is beautiful and it’s location is perfect and convenient for college students since there is a Starbucks next door! The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Sadie she answered all my questions in a professional manner.
Called today to talk about availability of apartments and Aia Norton was very informative about everything they had to offer. Really appreciate her taking the time.
This is a great place to live, and everyone who works here is so welcoming and helpful. Elise and Ja’brel in particular have made my experience excellent.
Considering transferring to CU Denver just so I can live here with my friends. Elise, Ja’Brel, and Aia are always super helpful when my idiot friends lock themselves out or something. Views are fantastic and the location in the heart of Denver right near campus is great.
Our student has absolutely loved living at Auraria Student Lofts! The location, right across the street from DCPA, is something most of us would envy at any age, and the fact that pretty much everything a person could possibly need is within walking distance is definitely a perk. Whenever weve had questions, the staff has been awesome. Elise, JaBrel and Aia in the front office have been so great...always very friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend!
I really appreciate good customer service! Aia has it in SPADES!! Thank you for everything you do! The remodeling is Gorgeous!
I was very happy with the student staff. Nice complex and informative agents. Aia, Elise and Jabrel were very helpful.
I had a few questions about COVID in the building and Ja’Brel let me know that they are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe.
This is a great place to live, the views are great. Elise and Ja’Brel were particularly helpful!
Best apartment in college ever. Ja’brel in the front office is so helpful and addresses things quickly.
JaBrel has been incredibly helpful! Property managers can be a huge pain, but the staff here does a great job.
Ive been a resident here for 3 years and personally never had problems with the old manager, but I have heard that a lot of people did. The building has hired a new Property Manager (Zach McBrien) and he is an outstanding person! Was very honest and transparent about the problems the building had and was more than willing to sit down and meet with me to discuss a new lease option. Very understanding and lenient person. I love living here because the location is so good and everything one needs is within walking distance. Would highly recommend to live here especially if you would like to save time for commuting in the morning to class.
Aia and Elise were so helpful in the leasing process! Thank you so much!
I’ve lived here for almost a year now and have had a rocky time. I’d like to start off by saying that I think the new management is doing a good job with what they can, they have always greeted me when I come in which I really appreciate. Awesome job to you guys!! However, I would like to talk about the previous management. Chris was the manager from hell, he had 0 compassion or consideration for the residents. I would just love him to call me slanderous for this review right now.
The worst establishment. Manipulates students, costs $1000/month for one room. Adds hidden fees in contracts to manipulate students. Don’t move here. The staff except for the students has been extremely rude to me when I call.
Location is about the only good thing here. Im giving it 2 stars because of their cleaning staff and one of their maintenance guys (Carlos). While the front desk staff is okay, they are not helpful at all. When I first moved in, I got different information every time I talked to someone. The elevators were down at least once every two weeks and you would only get a notice once people started complaining. It is also very expensive for what you get, the floors are uneven, walls are not very well painted. Do yourself a favor and do one of the other student housing or find roommates and get an apartment downtown, it will be way more cost efficient than paying $1,000 per month to get a tiny window that is shared with the room next to you.
Really appreciate Elise, Ja’brel and Aia’s friendly faces and help when needed!!
The elevators were really fast and Jabrel was very helpful.
Please don’t move here. It’s a mess all the time, and you are only going to regret it. You can’t get out of your lease, except when you’re a staff member that violated fair housing and tried to get a resident fired from her job. I wish everyone living there the best of luck, and I hope you’re able to find something better, because for what the price is, even though the renovated rooms are nice (and the top floors aren’t renovated), the hassle of dealing with everything there just isn’t worth it.
This place is a mess. First of all, there is NOT anything close to 5 star customer service. The students who work in the office don’t even greet you when you walk in to pick up a package, they either wait for you to initiate the conversation or they eventually stop looking at their phone/computer after you awkwardly stand there waiting. The office seems to close randomly at different times which is extremely frustrating. Chris, the manager, is the most unprofessional person I’ve seen run a building of this size. The last time I walked into his office, I said hello and he continued to stare at his computer screen for about a minute before even acknowledging I was there. He STILL did not say hello or ask if I needed assistance and overall he holds a very condescending attitude. He finally perked up when I asked about renewing my lease though! If you look at other negative reviews of this place, ASL rudely responds to almost all of them, almost like they are in utter disbelief of the accusations against them. The elevators are ALWAYS broken. Sometimes, even 2 of the 3 are shut down and only one is left running. Trust me, with the amount of students in this place, we need more than 3 elevators alone. The walls are PAPER thin and you will always be able to hear even normal speaking volume coming from roommates’ rooms. This year, they are renovating the building and there is always loud construction early in the mornings. They are scheduled to be completed by August, but only a couple floors have been finished in the several months of construction and management is literally cutting leases a month early because of it - unless you absolutely can not leave. The two maintenance men are actually very pleasant and helpful, but I can not tell you the amount of times they have walked in UNANNOUNCED to my apartment and other apartments to check smoke detectors or other small things - with no email ever being sent out 24 hours prior - which is against the law. This building is very secure but as far as the actual security guards, they are completely useless. They sit on their phones or smoke cigarettes outside and do not respond to noise complaints. My roommate was upset that the apartment next door was blasting loud music at 3 in the morning so she called security and was basically told there was nothing they could do and that she would have to call back during business hours! So what exactly is the point of having them?!As far as the students, there is absolutely no sense of community whatsoever. Nobody talks to each other and people can be quite rude. For example, if you do not pick up your laundry right on time when its cycle finishes, your clothes will be thrown on the floor! Wet or dry. This has happened to me 3 times and is pretty well known for happening to other residents, most likely because of the small amount of machines they have that even work correctly. Other than that, you can’t deny the amazing location and somewhat decent amenities. You will get more for your money at CoLab.
I will never live here again. Do not move here.
I’m disgusted with the lofts. Extremely disorganized. Their lease policy is ridiculous during COVID-19 and they have no sympathy for students who signed before COVID-19. Screw this establishment. You should be ashamed and disgusted with yourselves. I will never let someone I know live here. You don’t take care of your residents at all and probably wouldn’t let someone out of their lease unless they committed suicide. Do NOT live here.
I haven’t had a good experience in my short span of time living here. Very disorganized. There was a resident living in my room when I first moved in during a pandemic, so my room was dirty and not ready to be moved into. I was given the wrong key three times and got locked out of my apartment for an hour. To top it off, my roommates and I got locked into our room because of broken lock systems being installed. Had there been an hazard we would’ve been locked inside. I’ve only lived here a couple months but it hasn’t been a pleasant experience for what I pay.
Ja’Brel is the best and is always very helpful!
ASL is a great place to live while going to college! Living in a high rise building with incredible views is so cool, especially for a college student. I’m only two blocks from campus as well as my part time job, and we have a Starbucks connected to our lobby. LOVE my Starbucks. The Manager Chris is so nice and always helpful. You can tell he’s on top of everything, because the property always looks great and our work orders are done the same day we request them. I know he cares about his residents, because as busy as he is, he always makes time to chat and even coordinate roommate meetings to help resolve issues. That personal touch means a lot to us.
Elevators always down (although they are basically a necessity for this kind of building). Internet services are fickle and overpriced. Pool is not actually a pool.
Only 1 out of 3 elevators worked half the time for a year. The other two didn’t work at all.I heard the building is in a law suit with the elevator company for not paying for repairs, which might be why the repair company won’t turn the other two on.
A good shared living space as a student.
The only thing good about this place is the location and the gym otherwise overpriced and terrible customer service.Edit: new management is really pulling their weight and it was a much needed update and I am very much appreciative for the help with my move out. I think this place can be worth it especially since management has been updated.
I’m disappointed by their lack of organization regarding the renovation and the termination of the lease. They made my daughter move out a month early and still “accidentally “ charged for another month’s rent. I’m feeling like they are scamming us. There are better places for students to rent from.UPDATE:After rent was incorrectly pulled from our account, I am still waiting 3 weeks later for my refund. Poor business practices and customer service. Don’t rent here.
Very upset with them My son was given a notice to move out 1 month prior to his lease ending due to construction. They are now trying to collect the rent for the month that they were doing construction and my son could not live there. I am now getting the run around from them and being told that because it is in collections they cannot talk about it. Yet it was their mistake by trying to bill us for the rent for the month that they did not provide any room to my son. Hopefully writing a review will get them to resolve the issue
Worst student housing I’ve ever seen. No community aspect with very antisocial vibes. It’s all run by students mostly that for the most part lack common professionalism and courtesy. The manager, Chris, is very rude and unhelpful and hard to reach. The layout is very dark and office like with an unwelcoming vibe. They pair roommates for you and if the match is not right they will not assist in making a better situation and will ask for 400 dollars to move rooms no exceptions.Extremely strict rules and camera everywhere that provide a very uneasy feeling. Parking is a complete nightmare unless you want to pay 160+ a month. The appliances are out of date. The elevators failed countless times. When they were out we never once got an email reminding us or letting us know what was going on. I dreaded living here. The literal only benefit it the ability to walk to class and the amenity spaces. If you chose this place, make sure you know your roommates beforehand.
The Auraria Student Lofts are amazing! Great location. Everyone that works at the front desk is very helpful. Aia is very helpful and is also willing to help everyone to the best of her ability. She has great energy. Very polite! :) highly recommend living in the Auraria Student Lofts, especially if you love the city.
Hayden and Spencer are always on top of things 100% of the time. Connie and Maria are always a super friendly place and I adore them.10/10. I love living here!Carlos is super amazing and goes out of his way to make my day! He always does a great job and I appreciate him.
Location is the best part of living here. 14th is one of the best streets in downtown. It is safe and conveniently located near tons of amenities. The pool is extremely nice to use during the warmer months of the year. The gym is never really full, which is really nice. The housekeepers do a great job, as the building is always clean. Hayden who works in the office is very helpful and always super nice, as well as everyone else who works in the office. Only gave 4 stars because even though it is apartment living, the quality of the apartments does feel like dorms sometimes, they could invest some money to make them a little bit nicer for the price people pay. Overall, location beats any of these things and ASL is a great place to live.
90% the good ratings are artificial, they give residents free pizza, or some reward in exchange for a 5 star rating. As well has having their student staff leave 5 star ratings in their job.Very uncomfortable place with horrendous manegment, lived with dangerous and mentally ill roommates, (had police and several drugs in out of my room) and management said I had to work things out with my roommates. Chris the manager is very condescending and takes zero responsibility.Emailed and talked with management, but as long as you pay rent you can get away with anything.
Can you please stop spamming every housing website? It is making it very difficult for people to find real housing when youre taking up 90% of the results page. thank you.
Lived here my freshman year with three seniors, two of which had already been complained about for horrible behavior by previous roommates which management admitted to. Forms were written up to evict abusive roommate, but when parents arrived and flashed their $$$ management suddenly forgot about any previous complaints made. If youre a parent this is the absolute last place I would recommend for your child, and if you are the student and you dont want you freshman year to be soured by awful living conditions find someplace else.
So a bit of a long review but bare with me here I have some positive and some slight criticism of this location. While there is a huge list of great things with the place like the really nice and large gym! The common area looks very nice, the pool area seems like a nice area to be in, the staff seems super nice, the location is great. The entire place looks pretty stylish, while there are some inconveniences I’m pretty sure they are all out of the hands of the ASL and I can’t fault them for that. I notice a lot of reviews mentioning malfunctions in various aspects like elevators but I assume that sort of things are bound to happen. I am also sure that ASL was trying their best, there is a lot of noise from construction outside. But of course that is totally not ASL fault. The only aspects I could criticize was how my ending year at ASL was and maybe some real minor aspects that can easily be disregarded. The first aspect is that cooking or showers do tend to sometimes set off the smoke dictators. Now this could be that I am not the best at cooking but, it’s been a little tough trying to cook a burger. Now this is such a minor thing and this one small detail does not effect the quality of ASL it’s still a great choice!I also noticed that sometimes residents would get stuck in the stairwell and will be unable to return and start banging on the door to get back in. Now I don’t know how this happens but seems like something to bring up as a quick heads up so no one gets stuck. Now I enjoyed my stay here greatly and all inconveniences I can’t say is ASL’s fault in any form or manner. They did a great job for sure and I do wish to be fair but my ending time at ASL during the covid pandemic was a bit of a disappointment. I was told that I would be switching to a new room since they are renovating and I’ll be transferred to the nearly renovated room which sounded very nice. Unfortunately I got put on the 30th floor which wasn’t renovated which is a slight bummer but nothing to complain about on its own. Sadly my new room was full of property damage from previous residents so the move did seem like a downgrade, and was a bit stressful to work with the office and maintenance team who were all nice to avoid me getting charged for pre-existing damages and repairs. The new place was a bit dirty from the previous residents having a lot of party’s or so I was told which made the new area a little more worrying with not getting sick from contamination. I was also one of the residents who weren’t allowed to end my lease early which felt a little unfair, I did wish to end my lease one month early to be safe from Covid not out of any hate for ASL. I am also certain that there was some changes in renovation scheduling so I was moved to the 30th floor and then having to move out again about a month later which is a slight bummer. Now to be fair to the lofts I am sure this whole situation was just as stressful for them as it is for me. I am also certain they tried their best in this difficult times, I will say that this place is perfect. Though the nature of my end was a bit disappointing, and I don’t mean to try and paint the lofts in some sort of negative light but if they were true to their word about transferring me to the upgraded room or one that was clean and without damages this would be the greatest apartment place easy. If anything I wish I could have been in the lofts after their renovations and didn’t graduate yet. Now I do apologize for the long review, but I want to be completely fair and give some good descriptions on the positive aspects and state that some previous negative aspects about ASL might be out of their hands. This place was so close to a five star rating and there is a lot going for it. But the ending segment was a bit of a mess and to be fair I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and assume that things didn’t go according to ASL plans and they tried their best.
I have enjoyed my stay at Auraria Student Lofts. Chris Kiessling the Property Manager and Team have made my stay very pleasant and comfortable. I renewed my lease for my final year and is looking forward to residing at Auraria Student Lofts for another year. The location is great and allows me to not have a car in the city. I also walk downstairs and walk from my lobby into Starbucks for my daily coffee!!!
Kyle is very helpful and is also willing to help everyone to the best of his ability. He always has great energy. Very polite!
Nothing would make me stay here again even how good the location is. The whole year I was surrounded by guys who would blast their base music and smoke weed and management would not do anything about it even though they are not allowed. So I has to suffer the entire year. If all you care about is partying then this place is great for you. But if you want quite time to study you will never have it here. Never again worst waste of money ever.
I have lived at Auraria Student Lofts for almost 3 years and overall it is a great place to live. Location is very important to me, as I rely on walking, biking, and taking public transit. I needed a simple, functioning apartment in Downtown Denver to be close to CU Denver and to have the ability to get along without a car—the Lofts definitely filled this brief! Maintenance staff are always so quick to fix anything in my apartment as well. The management team has been helpful, especially Spencer. Spencer cares and is always willing to help me out with any questions or concerns. I seldom had problems living here, but if I did have an issue, concern, or recommendation, and approached the management team calmly and with courtesy, they were helpful, listened, and communicative. Communication between management and residents is super important to me, and they would send emails notifying anything the residents of anything they may need to know —so there were never any surprise water maintenance shut offs, surprise fees, etc, which can happen sometimes with other apartments. Management was always encouraging feedback from the residents. I highly recommend living here!
This place truly should fire all management and office employees and replace them with people who actually know how to do their job... it’s a mess. I can’t believe management actually RESPONDS to these reviews (Chris) acting like a 13 year old to anyone who had something negative to say. Can’t the higher ups see that!? Completely childish and unprofessional. It’s honestly quite amusing.
I would say that I would rate them 0.5 due to the fact that they try to make me have over $8000 before the end of the month of August of this year but it was impossible for and when my mom had talked to Spencer about me doing a payment, but when I went to talk to Spencer about it, he completely denied it along with the manger, Chris. The location is great, minus maintenance issues but I would honestly see a change in the management I reconsider moving here and have managers that would honestly have an understanding for renters that do have a difficulty with paying rent or can co sign for themselves.
Ive gone back and forth if I should post a review or not. I personally had a very mixed experience living here, but nothing I say is going to change that. I think its important though for future residents to know exactly what theyre getting into. I do have to say though of the 13 roommates I had while living at the Lofts I got along really well with 10 of them. So management trying to make me feel absolutely worthless after experiences with the last two will forever brother me. Not everything was my fault, but like I said that doesnt matter. About 90 to 95% of the issues at the Lofts are management related. I worked there close to a year and a half so trust me I know. The manager has made me feel horrible about myself more than once, and not just me one of my coworkers actually quit because she couldnt handle the job anymore. Work is work and theres always going to be things you dont like, but the environment is pretty toxic and its a lot more work than one would expect from a front office job at a student housing complex. Minus the job the issues mostly come from price, elevators and the overall lack of proper communication. I did like living here a lot for the most part, but it has a lot of issues that are standing to really get in the way of anyone having a postive experience. I had multiple people call wanting the manager to call them back about complaints, I let him know, but the majority of the time he never called them back. They currently have a project to renovate the whole building, but theyve been on one floor for months sorry to say, but I highly doubt the whole building will be done by August, but maybe. The price for next year is ridiculous I understand the location, but paying more than $1,000 for what you get is ridiculous.Me and my boyfriend currently both pay less for a place less than 20 minutes away from campus. At least one of the elevators breaks down quite a bit also. Finally I know Im just going to get called a bad former employee and that Im spreading libel, but sadly thats just not true. I know I have my faults, but I worked really hard here and for me as well as others to be treated horribly I just couldnt stand and do nothing.EditNow that the previous manager doesnt work there anymore it looks like things are improving from the sound of their instagram (that I still follow) and I noticed the new manager has actullay replied to negative reviews in a way that doesnt make it sound like the resident is lying or its all their fault. Its refreshing to see. Minus the numberous management issues in the past the Lofts has fairly minor issues and for the most part I loved living here for almost three years, a lot of my memories came from this place in one or another!
Great location, maintence is quick to help out and the staff is very friendly! Everyone at the front desk is great, especially Amanda! I’ve had no issues while living here although I was worried moving in due to the mix of reviews but from my experience everything has been great, it’s close to everything in downtown. The rooms are very quiet since the walls are concrete. Only complaint is the apartments could be nicer considering how much everyone is paying and the elevators sometimes have issues.
The manager Chris Keissling is very shameful. He treats his residents and employees like he is better than them; I have never seen him greet, welcome, or talk to any of his residents. He is unpleasant to speak to if you go to his office because his attitude is committed to not helping anyone and he will make you feel frustrated/upset by the way he speaks to you. I dread having to pay rent because its us residents that fund the lofts and we still receive no respect or customer service from the manager of building. I will not be renewing my lease because I feel the management is taking advantage of students ($) and there is a lack of values.
The Auraria Student Lofts is located in a perfect place for students at the Auraria Campus. The employees who work here are kind and work hard at what they do. Spencer, who is the assistant manager is great to check in with residents and see how everything is going. If you ever needed anything from him hed make sure to get it done quickly and efficiently.
Auraria student lofts has been a great experience for me, the ability to live in a building with only students gives you a large ability to meet many people. Not only that but the price is very reasonable considering the location and the proximity, its a seven minute walk to the CU Denver campus. Staff is great and timely with any maintenance requests or management questions. I would definitely recommend living here especially if you are a first year student!! As a first year student living on my own it was a lot to handle but I got the opportunity to work in the office alongside Ashton and Amanda which not only gave me a better understanding of what goes on/all the work that goes into running a student living complex but it helped me meet so many of the residents which Im now great friends with. -Hayden
Lived here for two years, just now moving out. Would recommend if you go to Metro or CU the first couple of years you are in school. They dont regulate smoking weed (or so Ive noticed) so its annoying sometimes if you dont like it. Rooms are very private so if you dont like your roommates you arent totally miserable. I would 100% recommend finding roommates before you move in rather than after, you could be stuck with weird people. During the day it gets pretty loud, but I havent noticed it as bad at night. Views are amazing from most rooms. The pool and gym are nice. Always smells like crap in the elevator lobby, seriously disgusting. Security is getting better, but still isnt great. Management is awesome at fixing things in a timely manner, you never have to worry if you are locked out, a drain is clogged, or if you need repairs they are always helpful. Make sure to take pictures when you move in, I am sure they will ding you for certain things. The biggest things is to not do random roommates, this is completely different from dorms and the people are with could be a disaster.
The Auraria Student Lofts is a great place to live. The maintenance team is very helpful, especially Jon Dunbar. He does an excellent job at getting the task done in an efficient manner. He is considerate, smart, and respectful to the residents and knows how to fix any problem that may arise! I can definitely count on him.
I know I have my faults, but I worked really hard here and for me as well as others to be treated horribly I just couldnt stand and do nothing.
After finding Auraria Student Lofts (ASL) last year, I knew my apartment hunt had ended. ASL has been an incredible academic and social experience for me. Auraria Campus can be a hard place to make new friends and connections, since its a commuter campus. However, the lofts gives you a built in community and a great way to start your collegiate career. Everything you could need is less than a mile away and campus is a five minute walk from your door. Moreover, maintenance (usually Jeremy) is fast, courteous, and always willing to help. The front office staff, specifically Riley, Dara, and Emma, are incredibly knowledgeable and are always there to point you in the right direction. Chris, the general manager, is the cherry on top. All in all, the views, the living spaces, and the professional office staff make ASL the best student housing experience in Colorado. I highly recommend checking the place out to see if its a fit for you, good luck on the rest of your journey!!
ASL is fine, but all sorts of things break down and need maintenance. Fortunately, the building has employed two fantastic employees, Jordan and Carlos, both of whom bend over backwards to ensure the hard work is completed efficiently and correctly. Brothers Nelson, invest in ASL by giving them both a promotion! Similarly, the custodial crew is punctual and thorough. Weve had a wet and cold couple of recent weeks, and this crew remained vigilant throughout each snowy day, mopping up after every one of our muddy shoe prints and precluding fall hazards. Thanks all- you truly are the ones that keep me around this joint.
Love living here! Best student housing in Denver. The people who work here like Amanda and Hayden are some of the best people I have ever met
Ive lived here for 10 months and I can genuinely say that the lofts are a great place to live for students. Its downtown location is amazing, their staff - such as Jose Torres - are quick and helpful, maintenance is on-top of things, and occasionally they throw in nice little giveaways and food. My main qualm with it is that their roommate matching could be better... Ive heard of people who love their roommates but I hated most of mine. Of course, I cant blame the lofts for how my roommates acted but be aware of that. The price is on par for other student housing and fair for the experience and location; of course, you can find cheaper places farther away and for worse quality. Other than that, my only complaint is that they have a pool/gym area open till 2 am but they lock one of the doors to get to that area at 12 am, so you either have to go through an elevator (which they repeatably tell you not to do) or go through an outside route... at 1 in the morning. Yeah, because THATS safe and makes sense. Other then that, though, the place is great.
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Dealing with the front office and maintenance was an absolute nightmare. They were working on construction on the 19th floor (I was on the 18th) for like 4 months when they said no more than one. At one point a pipe busted and water was leaking into our living room. We put in an emergency maintenance request and were told they would absolutely 100% fix it first thing in the morning but they took 2 or 3 days to actually get to our apartment. When they came to fix our garbage disposal instead of actually fixing it, they told us to just not use it (how professional).Parking is an absolute nightmare, about $200 a month which I seriously cannot afford after paying $900 a month for rent and tuition for school. Seeing as I worked in Aurora it was absolutely essential for me to have reliable transpiration so the price is absolutely ridiculous. Especially when theyre raising the rent for next year by $300 per month.Seeing how management deals with negative comments on here is absolutely ridiculous, instead of acknowledging any issues they just get defensive and deny any responsibility. They took absolutely no actions to help out residents during the Covid-19 pandemic and still expect you to pay rent in full for pay $1000 to break the lease, while other facilities are waiving fees and ACTUALLY making their residents feel safe and secure during this time. As a person who has health issues, it was incredibly scary to me to have my roommate coming and going and not socially distancing, putting myself at risk. I had to move out early so as to protect myself, but still have to pay rent until June, even though I am completely moved out and have turned in my keys so I cant even access the building. I am completely aware of the lease agreement and having to find a replacement for my room, but seriously ASL??? Theres a worldwide pandemic going on and you cant be flexible even a little??
Fantastic location, great maintenance team, and decent amenities are all big benefits! But, the rooms not being cleaned upon move-in, things constantly breaking, a drug problem throughout the entire building, and a sense of the management making a constant attempt to nickle and dime the residents are all definite turn-offs. Its probably the best housing in Denver for students, but If you can avoid living here (such as live a little bit out of town and still be okay), live elsewhere. But, as a student this location is perfect for you. Just know what youre getting into.
If your looking for your first apartment out of the house as a student please don’t come here. This place takes advantage of the fact that we’re young students and don’t know what a landlord is aloud to do. They are rude and not easy people to work with, and they just don’t treat you with respect. And once you sign that lease it’s almost impossible to get out of it, even during a glasslike pandemic ! Just try Colab
The best staff in this place is Dara, she is very friendly and nicely. I really recommend her for future questions maybe you should ask for this place. Im very sure she will help you so much!
I loved living at Auraria Student Lofts! I lived there for 2 years and it was such a great environment. Everyone is so friendly and If theres ever anything broken in your apartment Jon is there to fix it right away. The maintenance team is absolutely amazing! I would definitely reccomend living here!
I love this place its absolutely amazing to live out here, its easy to go shopping from here, a lot of nice restaurants are pretty close, if you like to go to bars and clubs its on walking distance. Also i like staff members here they are really friendly. Every time you order something online they will send you an email so you can go pick it up, Dara at the front desk is one of my favorite person in the whole building, she is always in a good mood and extremely friendly with other.
Very convenient and far cheaper than anything CU boulder provides. The front desk manager there I believe his name was Ja’Brel, provided excellent service when I asked questions about what auraria lofts had to offer.
I recently moved to ASL after moving out of another student housing nearby, and there is not a place I would recommend more! Amanda was super helpful with answering all my questions and since I moved in she has been a great smiling face to see around!
After spending my entire freshmen year here, I have grown to love everything about the Lofts. I am so happy that I renewed my lease, and recommend it to all incoming and current Auraria students. Dara at the front desk is extremely personable and truly cares about helping you. It really is a wonderful place to live!
I lived at the Auraria Student Lofts for 2 years and nothing compares to the exceptional maintenance team. Jon Dunbar (Maintenance Supervisor) is very accommodating and ensures that maintenance requests and facility issues are resolved in a timely manner. Excellent service and great location!
Living at the lofts is amazing, you cant beat how close it is to school. The staff here are really great, especially Jon Dunbar in maintenance. He is so nice, and remembers me and my roommates because we have lived here a few years. He will remember things and put in work orders for us, overall he is part of what makes this place great.
The ASL is an interesting place to live. The location is perfect for students, and the staff are always helpful, from the repair crew being timely to fix things, to the office staff being always open and supportive, especially Amanda. My only strong complaint is the internet is absolutely terrible, except at random times of the night and if you pay for the faster speeds.
Its not too far from campus and the apartments arent half bad. Also, Jabrel (one the employees here) is amazing!
If you are a student who is new to living in the city and/or want to meet new people I highly recommend this place. Ive met a lot of great people here, and it was a good starting point to introduce me to downtown Denver this last year. Now Ill be living in an apartment somewhere else, because it can be hard to focus on important things while living with so many other students. It isnt a place that is practical to live in for more than two years, one year should be enough. But if you want student housing, this is the best one over Campus Village or Regency
I was able to move in with no hassles. Moises help me a lot with the process and helped me all the way thru! 5 stars service!
