When I signed up for a membership with this particular Golds I was told that I was not under contract and could cancel at any time. Fast forward a year and some change and I was no longer coming to this gym and wanting to cancel. I had left multiple letters and had asked for a manager to help. Problem is that they apparently were just throwing my letters away cause they continued to tell me I had not given them one. When I tried to get in contact with the manager I would be told he would be in at a certain time, then when I showed up at that time he was never there. After months of trying to do it their way I then had my bank stop accepting charges from them. My current state is that collections is calling me and wanting more than $300 to resolve this. I have filed a dispute and do not plan on paying when they have essentially stolen well over $600 from me. If anyone is reading this I suggest finding a friend with a home gym or going anywhere else. This gym is not worth a cent of what you will pay them and they will just rob you in the end.
From cheap prices, to great equipment, Golds has it all. With a month to month membership you never have to worry about contracts. The gym is always clean, and there more than enough room even at the busiest times. Ive never had to weight more than 5 minutes to get a bench or spit on the cables.
I was told I would be on a trial and told to sign a “waiver” Incase something was to happen. I wasn’t given a copy or even allowed to read said waiver. I tried it out that one day. I decided this gym wasn’t for me and went in and canceled the following day. Fast forward 6 months I was contacted about 200+ dollars on my credit. When I contacted the GM he told me I am locked into a contract and I explained my situation to which he did not care at all. It is very unprofessional. I was lied to. Never will I give them another dollar.
Dominic was very helpful, informative and helped sign me up. Customer service is excellent and I love love the cleanliness, all the right equipment, clean huge sauna, locker room is huge and so clean! People at the gym is great too! They are very considerate and there to workout 💪 .
The gym is great, staff not bad. However, join with caution as they lose cancellation papers and then threaten sending past due fees following cancellation to collections. This occurs even if you do everything needed per their own policy. Another example of a corporation refusing to follow their own rules. Too bad a zero star option is not available.
The teachers are amazing, front desk. Classes sauna its clean great place to go
I once put a poor review because of one staff person. However, she has changed a lot for the better. I must first start off by saying that I am extremely impressed with the cleanliness of this gym. It is extremely difficult to keep a gym clean and pandemic made it worse. The manager Paul has become a good friend that I can talk to at any given time. The staff has become more focused on the customer. Their are plenty of machines to choose from. This is my home away from home.
The facility is excellent and staff are courteous but there’s hardly anyone wearing mask and we’re in Texas where COVID-19 is spreading out of control. So, beware of the health risk.
I cancelled my membership last year! I tried via phone, but they wouldnt let me. I came in person to cancel and was told that I was not under any contract obligations. I AM DEPLOYED. Without my knowledge or permission they continued to charge me on an inactive credit card. After months of declined payment transactions, they continued to charge me for over six months anyway. This is your business plan? Keep charging fraudulently without permission? How is this legal - how is it not stealing? They sent my account to collections. And even if I paid it, its now there as part of my credit history. I am still deployed and now I have to deal with this. Common sense says, you dont render services not paid. When a credit card transaction is declined, you dont keep trying to render services for several months. How you are still in business is beyond me. Stay very far away from this place. I filed a complaint with the BBB.
Very unprofessional. A male manager here was so rude it was ridiculous. The worst experience I’ve ever dealt with. I definitely do not recommend even associating with this location.
Great gym! Awesome setup, perfect hours. Well worth the membership.
When the the gym closed for the pandemic I was contacted via email. After that I never received an update. Right after this happened I had my Credit Card info stolen and subsequently cancelled my card and got a new card. Golds Gym tried to charge my old card after no charges for two months. Then they started charging membership dues again. The payments were refused because the card was cancelled. Golds Gym never contacted me via phone call or email to tell me the payments were being refused. Also they never emailed me or called with instructions about opening again or when payments would start again. I went back to the gym after a few months and updated my payment info. At the time no one told me I was behind on payments or anything about payments being refused from the other card. The next day I had three monthly payments taken from my card and two late fees taken as well. I spoke to them about the situation to no avail. I ask them to produce one email that informed me about refused payments or any information about when they would start charging again. No help, a third party collects their dues. They could not produce any email, letter or call information to show they attempted to contact me. No refund accept the late fees being waved. I quit the gym at the beginning of August and was informed that I still had to pay for September and the past dues for the months I did not go. Terrible, terrible customer service. I put in a dispute with my Bank and was refunded the payments they illegally took. My money was refunded, now I have received a letter from a collection agency for $178.52. I wouldnt go back to Golds gym if they paid me, Im at Crunch gym now and it is so, so much better. Better equipment and especially better customer service.
One star off because of the music. Nice facility but Justin Beiber doesn’t make me motivated. Demotivated in fact
This is a clean wholesome gym to join. I highly recommend it!
Love it here! Friendly, clean, and lots of options.
Just signed up and visited for the first time today. The gentleman who signed me up yesterday was friendly, helpful, and well informed about memberships and policies. I signed up for access to the pool mostly. On my way to the pool I noticed the rest of the gym was very clean. The pool was great. It is only two lanes but at 8:30 on a Saturday morning there was no one else in it. Water was clear with just enough chlorine scent to let you know it was clean. Glad I decided to sign up and I look forward to my next work out.
I still miss the old golds in killeen, but im still pretty happy with this location. its cleaner and no one bothers me. 11/10 😊
Customer service is always on point. They keep their equipment updated which I appreciate very much.
I have been a member since they opened and used the pool often. Since COVID started it has been closed. When will it open?
They have plenty of weighgs.and machines to make you sweat. Pool and saunas are still closed due to COVID. lockerroom/bathrooms are clean.
Absolutely hands down worst gym ever!!!went in and canceled my membership just to be charged TWO YEARS later 238.00!! Whatever you do,Dont sign a contract with this company they will slam you with a fee two years later
Very clean. Great staff, theyre very helpful and always nice. Great selection of equipment. I like to do cardio and power lifting and theyve got all my needs met. Pre Corona, they had a great pool.
I live 4 min from Killeen Golds and I still drive 15 min to the Copperas Cove Golds. I prefer it so much over the Killeen location and so does my daughter. I’m very picky about child care and who watches my child. I’ve never had an issue here with the care givers. My daughter runs in and enjoys playing here while I get my work out in. I’ve been a golds member for several years and been attending golds Cove for over a year. They messed up my billing once and was a bit of a headache to get settled mainly because of headquarters, but it was ultimately handled. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The facility is well kept and clean. I would recommend this facility to anyone and Anthony as a PT!
A really nice place to workout.
They are really about money money. I attempted to cancel my membership to find out they have been charging my card on file that was cancel up to 4+ times a month charging $20 each time. I attempted to contact their corporate number since I have an autoimmune issue and a cancer survivor due toCovid-19. I stayed on the phone several times to wait almost an hour then the phone would hang up. I tried to call them locally and the phone would just ring and ring. I also left a message to not charge the card. I called again and they said I need to come in. I did to find out my account over $200 in late fees since they charged each and every attempt. I couldnt even suspend my account so I could atleast pay the balance without recurring monthly payments since I cant go. They told me I COULDNT cancel or suspend my account. It will have to go to collections sadly as I now have to move. I have a gym membership with Planet Fitness also for reuglar workouts without the pool and they worked with me. Do not go here! Run!
The staff is rude and if you have a question the staff acts like you are inconveniencing them. No one is willing to help out with using the equipment. I was told no one was able to help me but the trainer. The trainer is always busy with customers that are paying for personal training. They do not assist you unless you are paying for a personal training. The staff is nice and friendly while they are assisting you with getting a membership then they totally change their attitude towards you. They make canceling your membership very difficult and inconvenient. It’s all about the money with this gym. Very poor customer service.
I signed up for golds gym and the location I signed up for went out of business and was bought by another gym. There was no option given to me to remain a member of golds and no one willing to work with me when I attempted to use another location (since I was “no longer a member”).Don’t sign up for golds gym. It’s a pathetic excuse of a company that could close their locations at any time. If they cared about their clients they would have allowed me to use their facilities until the contract I signed with them expired.Ignore the fake smiles and play it safe somewhere else.
Great group instructors and personal trainers. Clean gym.
Price could be lower but its an outstanding gym with super helpful staff
I have been trying to quit Golds Gym since they reopened. I live with family members that are highly susceptible to infection. COVID-19 would be fatal for them. There is no option to cancel my membership for the simple fact that there is a mass pandemic. Im required to pay a $100 separation fee. However, I have to physically go to the facility to accomplish this. All the while, auto payments are pulling money from my bank account for a membership that I am not using.
This location has honestly earned five stars. The staff here are very friendly, and very helpful. For the most part the go beyond to help you with just about anything they can. I have never had a problem with this location, very clean, well maintained, and great staff. I do not do personal training, but for what I can see, and have been told by others. Their training is great. Equipment is very reliable, and clean as well. Water fountains work, bathrooms are clean, and never trashed. The pool is better than anything else local. Plenty of equipment, even during the busy hours. The atmosphere is very nice as well. Again I have never had a problem here, and I doubt that you will either.
I experience was excellent!!
Nicely set up gym, every time I go it is never too busy. Price is very affordable and you can upgrade for different options. Friendly and knowledgeable staff willing to help out with membership issues. Military friendly and allow you an option to put your account on hold or cancel if you deploy. Kids corner is very convenient so you van get a workout for two hours and know your child is just around the corner.
Love the classes, the facility is nice and clean. The employees are kind and helpful. I always get a great workout at golds. The body scan is great to have as well
Giving only one star due to safety issues with the child care. The GYM is beautiful, super clean, front desk staff very friendly and cordial.Child care- the experience is different. A worker brings her daughter with her and pays ZERO attention to the other kids on top of that her daughter likes to hit kids and GRAB them baby their necks. MOST importantly NO ONE corrects this behavior. We dont feel comfortable bringing our kids as long as the girl is there.
They need to open the pool and the gym.
So cancellations seem to be the cream of the crop. They say they are there for their customers, but in reality they are not. Attempting to cancel a membership is not what you would believe it to be. I was given notice that payment didn’t go through, I was already on the fence of canceling. I thought well my payment didn’t go through, I will just cancel it. You would think it’s that easy. I was a day late to cancel so I had to pay for a months worth then a 20$ late fee. I asked if I could speak to a manager about the 20$ t be waived due to getting a notice a day later, but I guess no one manages on a weekend. (You would think they would have a manager there when opened). So I said I will pay the months membership and not the 20$ so I can wait to speak to a manager. They said ok and charged my card and sent a receipt to my email and I was square. Well I look at my bank account and behold there is a 20$ pending transaction. The front desk people are nice and facility is clean. That’s why I gave 2 stars instead of one. Business is everything between seller and customer, but you would think you would feel the loyalty at all times.
The facility itself is fantastic. The managers on the other hand are very passive when dealing with any kind issue at the gym. Instead of fixing the problem, in my case getting video of the parking lot when my vehicle was vandalized, they cancel your membership on false pretenses. Paul is very fake and dishonest individual and Arthur is very aggressive, where it is almost always over the top. Malissa Rico is very cold and dishonest when speaking to you or about you to someone else. Regular staff are fantastic folks that always make the experience worth it. Managers just need to be relocated.
Pool, sauna, and kid care are closed due to covid, but plenty of equipment here to use and now crowded like on pist
I will say it was ok because the pool isnt open right now and that is why I joined this gym
Great place to get a workout and the people there are great
Great environment, VERY helpful employees. Delila was very helpful in enrolling my family into the gym. She helped me understand how to use the machines and gave me an overall workout plan to stick to.The only thing I would change is having the weight lifting section bolted down so people can actually get in between benches to use them correctly.
Staff is Trash. They are not completely honest. They will screw you over. Billing department sucks. My brothers cancelled theirs about two months ago and I cancelled my membership today and we will not be back to this facility or any other golds gym ever. Planet Fitness however I had a outstanding balance of $389 because I had to leave town unexpected and they kindly expunged the balance and signed me back up for a $1 today. Theyre awesome and I recommend them over this trash facility and staff any day.
Staff is terrible. they make you wear a mask to workout and pounce on you as soon as it slips down your nose while their trainers dont wear one
Wonderful gym, everything you ever wanted in a gym plus more. The staff are professionals, and the best kept secret are the people who attend this gym, friendly, helpful, and social. This is probably the best gym I have ever been apart of. Enjoy your workout.Jessie Gongora.
#anytimefitnessisbetter
This gym used to be amazing. The management has driven this location into the ground. It was changing before COVID, so you cant even blame it on that. The pool & hot tub is PERMANENTLY CLOSED, and theyve told people its reopening. Someone asked about downgrading their membership, and they were told they had to cancel their membership and do a whole new contract. Their Kids Club hasnt reopened and theres no estimated date for that to happen. At this point, I wouldnt be surprised if they never reopened it. Golds got bought out by a German company that wants to turn it into an old school, body builder gym, not the community gym this location has been. Some of their staff is super amazing, and I hope they find a better place to work, that values and appreciates them more.
The facility itself is great but everything is about making money there. Just be careful and make sure you ask as many questions as you can. Went in to cancel my membership because I was not gonna be able to go in there anymore due to work. Just to find out that even if I canceled they would still be charging me for the next month that I would not be there to attend the gym. Because their cancellation process takes 30 days. Something which they neglected to tell me. But was so happy to tell me that it was on a paper which I signed. Anyway good one golds gym. Because I my military obligation which prevwnted me from remaining a member I was ripped off. Thank you so much for your support.
Nice place good and new equipment I love it
Execellent facility, super clean, and so many machines to choose from! Staff is super friendly but can be spread thin at times. Locker rooms have a sauna, and they even have a pool! Can be a bit pricey but I say its worth it. They have free classes and even a kid spot. Love the fact that they have a store too.
It’s clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, I take my fitness journey serious so what it costs doesn’t really bother me. However I didn’t sign up there I signed up in Houston so I don’t know what everyone else is paying. My wife likes the kids club here as well. The ladies take good care of the kids and are patient with my child who has some separation issues. Killeen Golds is 4 min from my house and I still drive 15 min to Cove Golds because I like it better. Having another platform for deadlifts (it’s occupied 80% of the time I go)would be helpful though that would be my only complaint so far and I been going there for a year now.
Hello, we are a military family. My husband and I have been members of Golds gym for Years! Each time we PCS we look for a Golds Gym to join. The child care and being able to workout and do the classes have been Great up until we joined the Golds in Cove. Now, I love the Body Combat classes! The instructors do a Great job of teaching the class! I brought my 2 boys with me for the first time this morning. With the amount my husband and I pay each month for our membership, I really Dislike and Im really Disappointed that they would charge the kids to use the child care!! I was late for my class and its now Inconvenient when it use to be so Easy and Convenient!!! I think that really Sucks! 👎🏽Child care👎🏽
Golds gym can get a bad wrap but we dont care about others opinions. We like Golds! Great facility and CLEAN!
Great staff who is always willing to help. The equipment is serviced quickly when damaged. Excellent place to stay in shape
My father canceled his month to month membership and they still charge for the next month. Apparently it takes 30 days to “process” a cancellation. He was not told this when he initially signed the contract and he should have been. This is by far the most ridiculous policy I’ve ever heard. How could someone know they’re going to cancel 30 days in advance? What a deceitful practice and disingenuous policy! It’s just another way to steal money from people.Im hoping they put into practice a more honest policy and be more transparent in their practice. I will never recommend anyone get a membership with Golds Gym. Not until they reimburse all these people they cheated. Again, what an absurd policy designed to cheat people out of their money.
It was my first time at this gym and I havent worked out in forever but it was a good experience, everything was clean and there were alot of options. Also the staff were really great. Especially Kenya, from the moment I walked in I felt welcome. Great gym, thanks guys!
Answered all question
My wife went in to cancel her membership and personal trainer. she was told by the front desk to come back after her membership was up. she went back and was then told she needed to come in 30 days prior to not be charged. so Jennifer (the manager) said she can use the gym for the 30 days and the personal trainer. since then the personal trainer has been scheduling the time randomly to use up the time without my wifes permission while burning up the training time. we are on month 14 of being charged for a 12 month contract. We tried to call the corporate office since the manager Jennifer never calls back or is ever available at the location. When calling the corporate store it ask you for your zip code and redirects you to the local store. After looking at the reviews on the BBB website it seems like this is a huge problem with golds gym. Now we are giving up on the gym and seeking legal counsel. Before getting a membership please take caution and read the reviews here and on the BBB website.
Nice gym. Plenty of machines to work out on, as well as weights. Pool & sauna. Have different exercise classes also. Also has child care & can get personal trainer. Everyone very nice.
Never had a problem while I was a member. Secluded new Golds gym. Lots of equipment.
EDIT: still have not received a response from an email sent to customer care. The same one that was left in comments pm other reviews. Email sent on May 13Th.There were four adults in the kids club with HARDLY any kids, and no one saw my two year old get hit in the head so hard she cries now when I ask if she wants to go to the kids club. I was repeatedly told by I believe Jennifer (manager) that she was told my daughter was not hit, she told me her sales manager (who was holding my daughter when I came in to check up on her) himself told her he saw what was going on and no one hit her. My daughter continues to tell me that she doesnt want to go back because someone hit her head hard like this. When I came in to cancel my membership, I was told by that same sales manager that he came in and she was already crying! So, while the other manager was so SURE that most likely nothing happened because her employees wouldve spoke up, someones story isnt adding up, which makes me uneasy. However, the sales manager told me that there are people at corporate office who monitor the cameras actively, and will report anything dangerous, or anything at all that can basically be of concern. Lets see if this is true, because thats the only thing making me feel better about this. I have to add that this sales manager as well as the people at the front desk and all the other sales people, and trainers, are very professional and helpful.
Me and my husband have been coming to Golds, Copperas Cove since they opened November 2016. Up until a few months ago we absolutely LOVED working out there. Although recently, there has been picture/video taking. I have reported the first incident to manager and was told to inform him if it happened again. Well it has on several occasions. I figured by the time I tell management to confront the situation they would have already deleted/sent off picture. So ladies and gentlemen be aware of your surroundings!
All the necessities, just wish there were more trash cans
I participated in the 7pm Zumba class! It was fun and the facility was clean. I was greeted when I entered and when I left the gym.
I really like this gym its a family atmosphere and the staff is very nice and also helpful if you need any advice by far the beat gym Ive been to in many years. And my daughter loves the kids center
I wasnt very impressed with the staff. New to the place nobody willing to help show me how the machines work . Didnt like that everything has an extra cost. Membership is expensive and then when you add on extra things for the classes, it just adds the cost even more. Wish it would have been different I need a good gym For my health. I dont want to drive all the way to Killeen to go to Planet. They have a good cost plan
Great place to work out.
Great facility. Would give five stars but too many of the classes cost extra money. Other than that it is an amazing place to workout.
Fraudulent charges to my debit card since November 2018 after cancelling my account. Still dealing with this nonsense. Can provide a USAA Fraud Investigation snapshot of a claim in my favor.
Poor customer service! Arrived at the gym at 0815 to use my free pass and sign up for a membership only to be told by the man at the desk that I cant do that until 0900. I asked if I could start my workout and when the sales people arrive I will do the necessary paperwork. His response was no, it has to be approved, however I could pay $15 to workout for the 45min until 0900. No thanks!!!! You just lost a customer!*** I have changed my initial rating to now reflect 5 stars. The GM (Justin) reached out to me and the initial issue has been resolved. justin has bent over bCkwards to ensure that I am happy and satisfied with the gym. I have since enrolled and could not be happier! The gym is clean, as are the machines, the staff is friendly.... and those classes, WOW!!!!!! Thanks for truly caring about your customers!!!
Some staff treats me kinda crappy like Im less than. I get ignored quite often. I didnt even get a tour when I joined . I had to ask for the free consultation. They pick and choose who they want to be friendly too and it honestly makes me not even want to go anymore. Or ask for anything. When i have to ask them to correct something its always a big ordeal. Great gym, and staff is great ....but only to some people.
Canceling has been a trip, they will not waive a late fee for a stolen card, but they will waive it if you are a personal friend. Ive also had issues with sexual harassment. Facility is nice but absolutely not worth the trouble. Maybe try the golds gym in killeen.
Great new facility. Very willing to work with you to meet your needs. Someone from probably another facility screwed up my billing and charged me twice, and tried to give me the runaround, but once I got a hold of Justin yester he did all he could to fix the screw up to meet my satisfaction. Thanks!Theyll keep charging you even after you quit. Every single person on staff can sign you up for new services, but if you try to cancel anything you have to talk to the manager who, shockingly, is never available. in the mean time theyll keep billing you with no way to refund your money, even if the whole process takes months.
I used to hate the gym and was never consistent until I hired Alex Knies to be my trainer, and I couldnt be happier. He has given me confidence to go in there and bust through the crazy workout he designed for me and Im so grateful. The men behind the desk are super friendly and always helpful as well. I still dread some days, but being more informed and pushed by Alex has been amazing. Hire a trainer! Oh and the place is way cleaner than Killeen Golds 😉
Worst place. They will trick you into a “3 month contract” and say you have “30 days” to change your mind. What you don’t know is that you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it canceled within that 30 days. And you have to jump these hoops on THEIR time tables. So here I am 3 months later to cancel, and I get told “well you’ll be billed a 4th and final charge, because you didn’t cancel before the 3rd payment was due”.Seriously? Worst. Gym. Ever.Scam! Don’t go here.
I work out here instead of the Killeen Golds. Better staff, better crowd, and a more open gym. I dont feel like Im walking into a converted warehouse here like some gyms because of all the natural lighting.
Lost a debit card and went in to update Golds Gym. Unfortunately, the employees could not update the information correctly, so several months later and two additional trips to resolve this issue, I started receiving harassing phone calls by the companys debt collector. Once again, I marched in to Golds Gym to get this issue straightened out and Jennifer dropped the ball. She was rude to boot and made a point to keep the issue away from the General Manager. Im still dealing with the issue and have asked numerous times for my account to be canceled out. I did not expect this level of poor customer service from such a large corporation. The gym itself is awesome, but not worth the headache of dealing with the staff.
Golds gym is not what it used to be, and for me thats a good thing. Its no longer an intimidating place fill of people already in shape and very muscular. There are still plenty of body builders working out there, but now there are many more regular people just trying to lose weight. They have wonderful trainers who are very helpful. Ask for Kathy. She has helped me tremendously. They have different levels of membership to suit your needs. Basic membership gives you access to free classes such as Body Pump, Golds Burn, Zumba, and many others. They also have Aqua Fitness and Aqua Zumba available for everyone regardless of membership level.Locker rooms are kept very clean. Pool and hot tub are also very clean.
Was not a fan at all. I was visiting the fort hood base and decided to check out Golds Gym. Im a huge gym rat I compete and the gym is my outlet. So when I walked in I spoke to a staff member named Kevin. I told him Im visiting and in the military. I asked about their day passes since I have always wanted to be a member of Golds Gym. Kevin replied yes you can go online and fill out the 3 day pass. I asked 3 days he said yes there is a 1 day and 3 day pass. I said okay thank you and left. I came back later that night to gym since the gym stays open until 12am. Which is a plus by the way. I spoke to another staff member named Benjamin. I told him I filled out the 3 day pass online and my nephew and I are here to gym. He said oh are you a resident of cooperas cove, texas. I said no I am not. I spoke to staff member Kevin earlier today and told him my situation. Benjamin then replied oh sorry you have to be a resident. I then said Im here on military orders and Kevin never mentioned such thing. I then asked well since I was told mixed information can I just gym for tonight. He said nope sorry. He was super arrogant about it. I then said okay well my aunt is living here she is a resident can we just use her address he said nope. Still being arrogant. I then replied can I speak to someone else about this he said Im the only one here. I then asked okay so you mean to tell me you cant allow us to gym for 1 day since the staff clearly got the information wrong telling us. He said if I let you then I have to let everyone. I understand that sir and then I clearly looked around and said whos everyone. What is sad about this situation is the fact that he decided to badger me about who Kevin that I spoke to earlier looked like. How is that related to the fact that I have a staff members name I clearly know there is a 3 day pass and Golds Gym got their information wrong. Lets just say Benjamin clearly did not give 2 craps about the situation and I will no longer return to this location and I hope all the military brats and military service men and woman know this. Benjamin did also state that since my retired aunt that was in the military for 22 years and retired out of fort hood she lived in copperas cove, texas just recently moved to Kempner which is a smaller town not even 15 minutes from Golds Gym. She is not a resident of Copperas Cove, Texas. She is not allowed to use the 3 day pass as well. Horrible staff not too happy. Will never gym at this place ever. All military personnel. Use the base gym. Your better off and that place is not worth the hassle. Hope this Benjamin guy gets his facts straight and is reprimanded for how arrogant he was being. You lost a member here if I was ever to be stationed there. Good luck.
They are by far the worst gym I have ever been to. Their representation of the company is so garbage they promise you so much stuff and you end up getting screwed over. Membership department lie to you about your monthly. Please avoid Gold’s gym! RUN
One of the employees here who was trying to have me sign up was very pushy. Called me once a day even after I told him I wasnt ready. Called me during work after I told him to stop calling, if Im interested I know how to sign up. After he kept calling I asked to speak to a manager and he hung up. I called back the next day to speak to a manager and never received a call back. After about three attempts to speak to a manager I finally received a call, and all they said was sorry that happened to you.
Great facility and friendly staff
Literally have never been treated so nicely by gym staff people here just wanna lift weights and shoot the stuff it’s one of the nicest gyms I’ve ever been to
This is my second home, so I might be a little biased.
“Only a manager can sign you up” so if a manager is not there, get F
I use this gym regularly and have a personal trainer. Never disapointed. Child care hours could be improved though.
Really nice people very informative, helpful staff. Clean, smelled good inside. Also has a pool!!! Lots of classes.
Clean and bright, all equipment is in working condition and the variety in equipment is very adequate. Fitness and crossfit rooms available
Very clean facility. All equipment is brand new. Huge variety of equipment. And not crowded.
Great gym with a great variety of things to do, whether its free weights or crossfit, if youre bringing your kid to child care, if definitely make sure Delilah is working, my kids absolutely love her
Love my gymSo clean lots of machines and always well staffed.
Great place and very clean place to workout, Professional costume services!
Zero customer service on the front end. Ive emailed them weeks ago with no response still. When I called in I was immediately put on hold. I hung up after 15mins on hold. I instead did a free trail and joined anytime fitness next to golds. I recommend anytime fitness over golds gym all day.
The physical facility is good. Has everything you might want or expect from a nice gym.The membership policies and fee system is the worst and most deceitful customer service system Ive ever experienced. They handle all the signup and send your billing info to some big brother corperate system with supposedly no way of contacting them except a corperate email address. Additionally, only your home gym can handle any of your account issues. So even if they screw up your account and convince your wife to start a new account and charge you a sign up fee (without recieving the signed contract...) or slow roll your cancellation and squeeze another month out of you, good luck getting any form of refund. Even if they admit youre being screwed, theyll just shrug their sholders. Save all documents, because you might have to be your own lawyer with them.Theyre really good at starting accounts! But even if youve spent thousands of dollars on membership fees and personal trainer sessions, expect to get a nice kick in the butt on the way out the door if you cancel.
Great place and lots of new and advanced equipment but needs better treadmills, other than that highly recommended.
This gym is horrible. I would give 0 stars if it would let me this gym doesnt even deserve one star. I did a 3 day pass here because never been to this one in cove before. I had a membership at golds in killeen ( I like) years ago for a while, so decided since I lived in cove to try this one. Well, Nobody showed me around just acted like I was a bother, but I wanted to work out so I used it. I liked that they were only 4 minutes away, so I decided to join just because location. I tried one day to take my daughter who is 12 with me to go to the gym to utilize the pool, but they wouldnt let me get her a day pass for that day they said I would have to get her a membership which thought was ridiculous since she would only come once or twice a month, so needless to say her and I went on post to the gym there that day. Everything extra there just cost way to much money especially since membership is so high. I didnt even know you had to pay for towels (left mine at home) and asked for one and girl acted snobby when asking if I had towel service. I ended up laughing and walking away. After those two instances I ended driving to the killeen location. But, circumstances happen so my husband and I decided I should cancel. I went to cove to cancel and of course they lied about the membership and the cancellation. They bill a month ahead and I canceled before my thirty days because with 5 kids just not enough time with my husband working 12 hours a day and their child care cost so high and already paying so much for the membership, it just didnt make sense financially for my family. They charged me after my cancellation then added a fee on top of that because it didnt go thru ($20.00 fee). I know the day I went in to cancel my membership I had specifically asked if I would be charged the next month and made sure to tell them that I was canceling not suspending my membership because they were trying to convince me to just suspend, but I was adamant that I want to cancel and wanted the refund since I was within thirty days get a full refund and they assured me I wouldnt be charged, but I wouldnt get a full refund just what I paid upfront to join. I wasnt happy at the time that I was lied to about the refund process when I was doing my membership, but I had my kids with me and was just ready to cancel so didnt make a big deal about that. But, then 2 weeks later they charged me a membership fee and a 20 dollar late fee. I called that day when my husband showed me on our account what Golds did. Well they wouldnt refund it from the cove gyms end and we argued for about 30 minutes on the phone the guy wouldnt listen and yes I became very very angry because once again they were lying and he wouldnt answer my questions. He was very condescending..My husband called the corporate office while I was on the phone with coves gym and apparently the cove golds gym even after telling them that I am canceling my membership and want the refunds they knowingly had me fill out the wrong form. After getting off the phone with coves gym the service my husband and I got from the main office was amazing. I am getting a full refund, but it was a lot of hassel and a huge headache that day. DO NOT GO TO COVE GOLDS GYM!!!! They do not own up to their mistakes or are they willing to correct them. They make you feel stupid and basically just dont care. I am not the only one that has had this happen and I probably wont be the last, but I hope they get people there eventually who care about their members rather than seeing dollar signs walking through the doors.
Hands down best gym in town! Ive never had a problem at this gym.
Nice, clean, knowledgeable staff. The things that Golds gym is known for.
I love the classes wish they were available all day.
