I walked in at 2 pm and didnt leave until 5 50 pm they were not busy at all the lady kim spent 3 hours on my nails and im still not happy but i definitely will not come back i had powder on my nails and she said she couldnt take it off so she left the color on there and painted over it smh the worse
I walked in and told the lady I wanted a pedicure. Before could write my name in the book, she tells me that she has an appointment scheduled and asked could I come back tomorrow. There was only one person in the salon at the time (getting a pedicure). I dropped the pen and walked out. I will never be going back. So unprofessional. I take it walk ins are not allowed to choose when they would like to be serviced. They most definitely will not be getting any of my money.
The ladies were very nice. And the nail salon was organized and clean.
The staff cater to their client and the demeanor of the staff is peaceful.
If you want a pedicure where theres attention to detail and you dont feel rushed, this is the best place.

I just left this spa. I was greeted immediately. After telling the lady I needed one gel fixed she came over and said I dont know if we have that color. Its a common shade of jade. I said why wouldnt you? She said you didnt get them done here. Its ok if you dont want to fix it. She said its not that it will just take a long time to wait. I said you dont want to fix my nail, its fine. I left.I would have been open to having all my nails redone, having a weird nail, etc if she had made suggestions instead of presenting problem after problem.
Ive been supporting Kims nail spa for over 15 years. She is a great person and business owner who cares deeply about her business and her customers. I have always gotten great service and been very appreciated as a customer by all of the nail techs. If they are very busy you must have patience and a good attitude, every customer deserves the same great service you desire. Thank you Number 1 Nail Spa for being my favorite place!
Had an appt to get one nail fixed. Took an hour for one nail! Called to make sure she could do a french tip powder and was assured they could. First off they power sanded my nail. I told her I usually have it soaked off. She said that takes to long. 5 tries later, my nail is ruined. Paper thin. She sanded the over polish off my skin and it is sore and bleeding. I am from out of town and used them because they had good reviewsBeware!
I have been going to this salon for over 15 years and have only had great experiences! Kim is very thorough, kind, and treats her customers like family.The salon gets very busy so making an appointment is recommended, but Kim and her staff will move mountains to accommodate all walk-ins as well. I love this place!!
Have been coming to this salon for over 15 years and have always received wonderful service. I have never witnessed Kim or her employees be rude to anyone. Very nice atmosphere and everyone is pleasant. There are times when she is very busy so I would recommend making an appointment :-)
Miss Kim is the sweetest lady ever. She always makes sure to do my nails for me and makes sure they are perfect. She may take a long time, but they always turn out beautiful. She also gives her customers holiday gifts, so darn sweet.
I was there with my mom bout a week ago and had a regular manicure + a pedicure. I thought it was a good place. So I went back on Monday cause of course the color did not stated on for a week it only lasted for 3 days! Anyhow my complaint is that when I went in on Monday with mom again we were choosing the colors and one of the ladies was hurrying us up, expecting to choose whatever color she wanted. Stated that if we didn’t hurry up that she had an appointment and that if that appointment came in we wouldn’t be taken care till after. Meanwhile there wasn’t anyone there. So my mother chose her color and went to sit with her not liking her attitude we still stayed. The manager did my manicure she was doing my nails so calmly and all of a sudden a lady walked in for a wax service and she just started working on my nails so fast she wasn’t even doing it right (it really made me upset) and I told her that I wasn’t liking it. When she finished I payed her and left being so upset! As if I was not paying for the service I was getting. Anyhow the color last me till yesterday 11/21 meanwhile I got the service done on 11/20. I will definitely not be going back!! I don’t normally like to write rewiews but this time I am cause I am so upset I payed for a service but to only last me one 🤬day!!
I visited a few months ago and decided to do a walk-in at 10am. The ladies that worked there told me it would be a 15-minute wait. However, I was there for for 2 hours until I was serviced. It took 2 more EXTRA hours until I was finished. Kim told me should would discount it for me due to my patience and wait time for the Gel Manicure full-set... She charged me $95.00 and had the audacity to blame it on the shape and color of my nails even though thats not what her price menu claims to charge for the set. Long story short, I was here from 10am-2pm trying to get my nails done for a made up price!!! I DEFINITELY WONT BE BACK KIM!
This place says they accept walk ins but every time I walk in I’m told i have to make an appointment. There’s always only one person. How are you running a nail salon with ONLY ONE tech? I tried to give them a second chance but now i will never give my money here. I couldn’t even get a time frame on when I could be taken care of.
Caroline Fourier from previous comment. I feel I need to speak up here. I too have come to #1 Nail for a few years now. And I have never witnessed Kim be rude or unkind to anyone. She is the most selfless person I know. I know. If anything she may be too timid with people. Scared she may hurt your feelings or offend you. She hates to turn people away. So I am sure if you looked around you, you may have noticed she was short handed and didn’t have enough staff to provide the service without them having to wait. I have seen many black customers, men and women that are regulars and walk ins. She has a very busy salon and unfortunately it is hard to find and keep staff. And she does have very bad allergies and if you have been going to her salon for a year or more, it seems to me you would have noticed her allergies. Or maybe you didn’t notice because you only come for the service and not pay any real attention to who is providing your service. I think it is important to know someone and their business before leaving negative remarks.

This nail Salon does excellent job and high Qaulity Kim is an expert at what she does and any one that knows Kim knows she is one of the best. A nail salon this good stays busy so if you think you can just walk in and everyone can stop what they are doing to help a walk in unfortunately that can be hard to do sometimes because they are very busy with loyal customers. Customers that come there most set up an appointment just like if you went to see a Doctor.. Sometimes if you catch them when they are not busy they can get to you quickly.. if people are looking just to walk in an expect them to stop what they are doing when people took the time to set up an appointment that can sometimes be a problem.. so if that happens maybe you should go to Walmart and get what you pay for!
This has been my nail salon for 10+ years and I am always satisfied with the service and friendliness. Kim, the owner does my acrylics and fill in and is very careful to get it right. I have tried other salons in other locations and they never do as well and Number One Nails!

I hate leaving bad reviews pertaining to customer service rather than skill, but I felt this needed to be addressed since I won’t be returning. I visited this location last Saturday because I finally had some free time and a baby sitter. I don’t get many days to myself at all, so my time is limited and important when I do get time to do things not involving my child. Anyways, I decided to come to this location because it is a convenient location from my house and they have done a decent job in the past. Since it was a Saturday, I figured they would be busy. When I first arrived at 12:45, I saw 2 techs working on 2 customers nails and another customer waiting. Since Saturday’s are busy normally, I wondered if there was only 2 techs or more in the back. Anyway, I assumed it would be a little bit before someone could get to me, but no one said anything other than what I wanted to have done, which was a mani/pedi. After 10 min, someone who I assume was the owner comes over and was like “You need an appt. Can you make an appointment? I have someone else coming in at 1?” I asked her if 2 would be a good time or another day. She said “Yes, I will put you down for 2.” I could have easily left and went to the salon right across the street or anywhere else for that matter, but I left and came back at 1:55 like I said I would. The same lady who put me down for the appt said “Oh, you’re back” when I walked in the door. Well, yes, I keep my word when I make appts. Again, the same 2 techs working on 2 customers and no other customers waiting, but me (so I thought). I sat there again for 20 min before the lady said another word to me and she told me to pick out my colors. I told her I already had. She said “Oh, I thought you wanted gel?” Umm, that was never even discussed or asked of me. About that time, I hear someone I didn’t even see sitting at the pedicure chairs speak up about how she had been waiting and didn’t have time to get her nails done since she had been waiting so long. Now it is 2:30, they still haven’t finished either of the ladies nails, there is another girl in front of me and not a single person told me I would be waiting again. To say I was ill was an understatement. I literally just walked out. As I was leaving, the lady said “Excuse me” to which I said “I’ve been waiting over 30 min, this is ridiculous”. If someone would have been upfront with me about their schedule/time or whatever was going on instead of wasting 2 hours of my day, I could have come back a different day. Instead, I wasted 2 hours of my day driving back and forth to the same salon and waiting for a service that ultimately I didn’t get. There was never an acknowledgement of my time, no apologies, nothing. There are dozens of nail salons around here so it’s no big secret that I’ll be going elsewhere. My advice to the owner is that my time is important just like your time is. If you know you can’t accommodate your customers in a decent timeframe, be upfront and honest instead of worrying about losing a sale for the day because now you have lost all my future sales too. I understand things come up but you can’t have customers sitting around just wasting their Saturday for a mani/pedi.
I’ve gone here for my eyebrows for a year and never had a problem. I just went in for my first pedicure and witnessed pure RACISM by the staff. One African American lady came in asking for service, and she was turned away because there wasn’t enough time for her. Kim proceeded to talk with a customer sitting next to me about how she doesn’t like working on black women because they are so rude and bossy. I was dumbfounded. 25 minutes later and another African American woman walked in requesting service and she was also TURNED AWAY. I will NEVER go back here and I DISCOURAGE anyone from going to them for service. Pure hatred and and racism SHOULD NOT be rewarded.

I was looking for something where I dont want to give a single star.. Worst Nail Salon experience I ever had.. They were unpolite and was partial towards the customers.. We were there to get Nail Art.. They said that they wont do any nail art.. Im ok if they dont do any kinda nail art but these people were telling other customers that we dont have enough nails to get nail art.. If they cannot meet our needs, it is their problem.. Not ours.. We are getting the same nail art which we liked in Diva Nails and Spa.. They didnt say that we dont have enough nails and they did a great job.. #1 Nail Spa learn from your competitors how to treat customers and try your best to meet their needs.. We pay for your services and not getting things for free.. Im only writing this review to change your attitude towards Customers.. If you guys prefer someone friendly, never ever go to this Salon..

If no star was an option I would have selected it! I live very close & vowed that I would never go back out of convenience again. The owner is not pleasant, even condescending at times. Ive made appointments to avoid the lengthy wait....still waited past 20 mins. Even left once because the wait was 45 minutes for an appointment. Ive been rushed out of a chair because of another client that had an appointment. Each time Ive gone the experience was beyond unpleasant. So Ive taken my business where I feel appreciated & respected.
Unlike the negative review that was left this is a great place to go. The ladies always say hello as soon as you arive for service. It may not be the most up to date in décor but who cares, the service is what I come for. Fair prices for all they offer. I will continue to go. Lee is my favorite, she always does a fantastic job. Dont let a negative review make your choice in getting your nails or toes done here!
I lived in concord for many years and moved to Lexington nc. By the time i drive home from Charlotte the nail shops there are closed so i stopped in here to get my nails done. Brenda did my pedicure and kim did my nails. I was there for 3 hours. Both of these young ladies took their time and did a great job ! Most of the time when i get my services done im in and out within an hour or so but then a week later my nails are lifting and my money was wasted. I never had anyone pay such close attention to detail and file my nails for 45 minutes. I work hard and the time i get to spend doing something for myself is a scarce commodity for me and it was very refreshing to feel like my time and money was well spent. My nails look great, proud to say you did them. By the way, I will be back, thanks for the hug, the orange and the lotion!!!!

This nail spa was not number one. I noticed how outdated it was as soon as I walked in but there was a wide variety of nail polish and quite a few people for a Tuesday afternoon so I thought it couldnt be that bad. I was very wrong. I was not greeted in a friendly manner but that was the least of the problems. I signed up for a pedicure. The technician directed me to a chair and I proceeded to sit down but not before the manager chastises the tech for not telling me how to sit. I felt she should have told her this in private instead in front of customers. I sat down, but my spa chair did not work! That is one of the best things about a pedicure but after three tries the nail tech could not get the chair to stay on for more than 30 seconds. Her response to me was that she had never sat in that chair. I was not offered another chair or a discount on the $30 spa pedicure. I am used to paraffin wax and a great massage. I was informed there was no paraffin wax. She proceeded to rub my legs with a green masque and when I say rub it was basically as if she were lightly lotioning my legs, no pressure, no effort. There was no massage just a simple foot and leg wash, and not even a good one since my legs still had the mask on them afterwards. The nail tech spoke negatively about my toe nails which were short. The last thing I wanted to hear was negative comments when I come in for a spa pedicure. The pedicure was not worth $30, the service was poor, I felt like I was treated rudely. This number 1 nail spa should be rated a negative one. Do not come here if you want a spa experience, there are nicer places to go with chairs that work and employees that want your business.

Not recommended...ever!!! I knew I should have gone with my first feeling and walked away from the very moment I walked through the door. But I decided I might be a little impatient where my other salon was not open on Labor Day so I located this place through Waze. There was no greeting from any of the 3 technicians, just a glance up and then back to their clients. I put my name down and listing a mani & pedi then sat down in a waiting area chair. After 25 mins I stood up to ask how long the wait was going to be and the girl then welcomed me and said to write my name down. Really, has it been that long ago for her to have forgotten that I already did this routine? She ended up telling me Id have a 15 min wait. A little bit irritated, I sat back down. Again, should went with my gut and leave. Two others came in put their names down and within 5 mins left. Another lady came in after I had been now waiting 19 mins and wrote her info down. No greeting for any of those women. At 22 mins of my 15 min more the same tech calls from her chair, where she is still working on the same client, you can go put your feet in the water. I stand up while the other lady starts walking to the pedi chair. At least the tech looked over as this was occurring and told her no, its not your turn. Its hers. Awkward! Whew, Ive made it to the chair with lukewarm almost room temp water and no tech there. My patience has hit a high point. I go ahead and sit there for 10 minutes and still no tech. I take my wet feet out of the water, place them into my sandals and walk out. Did anyone say anything to me? Ahhh, no! Never going back again! I drove home upset over something that was to be enjoyable. Ugh!
