$40 for a wash cut and dry, fair enough but my cut was basic. I wanted dimension and layers and I walked away with a few inches cut off, very blunt end cut and my hair was thinned out. My hair is so thick and heavy that she opt to thin it out. I wanted framing layers to my face and now Ill wait. Also wanted to get a 1hr facial as I called ahead and was told sure no problem. Well no one was their to do facials so I didnt get one. I kind of felt lousy, really wanted a little pampering, more than a simple hair cut.

I went to this shop for the very first time last Wednesday and I must say that Kristian did my hair really well she did an excellent job. My hair was very damaged so she cut my hair she washed it and conditioned it and deep-conditioned it and she did a silk press it came out so beautiful. Its a really nice place. This will be my regular hair salon. Ive been looking for one since I moved out here from California.

For years I’ve had issues with hairdressers thinking they know what to do with my hair and how to do it.😤😤I would tell Them what I would want and how I would want it, they would give me their opinion and I would ask them to cut it the way I’m asking for. But noooooo 😡😡😡instead of doing what I asked for they do what they want! After my favorite hairdresser moved back to Panama I spent 4 years 🤯🤯 trying to find someone to do as I ask / knowing how. . I am very particular about my hair. My hair is very blonde and fine and is very hard to cut for most. I like a very current pixie cut and have left many salons in tears because the stylist had butchered my hair. I searched high and low to find someone who knew how to cut my type of hair, who kept up with new styles, and would be consistant from cut to cut. Well, I finally found the salon for me. My daughter, on-in-law, and a good friend recommend Soyoung Salon and Spa to me. Well, I finally found the salon for me. Soyoung cuts my hair, but I would trust anyone there. Soyoung only brings in the best stylists to her salon. She has been doing my hair for over 7 years and I do not plan on going anywhere else. I got my nails done by Nicki, shallac, and they look fabulous! She took the time and effort to make them look great. She was extremely knowledgeable and told you what she was doing, and why.Highly, highly recommend.The following day I took my tired, worn out, too long hair into Kimmy. I wasnt sure what I wanted to do with my hair, color or cut wise. I had a picture suggestion of the cut and Kimmy made it 10xs better than that. I had honestly no idea what to do with my color. Kimmy gave me a great consultation and she suggested the color and highlights. Long story short, my hair (cut and color) have never looked better. I am 100% satisfied. Highly, highly recommend.

I have had a number of bad experiences with hair dressers over the past few years, but Matt changed all of that. I cannot tell you how wonderful of a job he did! He is so thorough and fun to talk to. He gave me wonderful high and low lights, got rid of the gold/yellow tone to my blonde, and left me with a natural and beautiful du! He will forever be my hair dresser!

Very sad experience I had here. Being new to Columbus I thought I should branch out and go somewhere other than a barber shop. I am a women with very short hair and I am trying to get away from the typical male haircut. The original lady cutting my hair claimed she does not know how to cut my hair and said I need to switch stylist mid cut. The second lady was better, but her clippers died midway through the cut. She did not ask me what length I wanted nor style. She just started cutting. Her guards did not work with the now barrowed clippers and she started using scissors because she didnt know what to do. Now keep in mind my hair now is 1/4 of an inch on the side in some spots. I specifically asked for my hair to be thinned out to lay better and that was no achieved. I asked to have the side blended and not blocky, that was not achieved. I asked to keep the length on top, that was not achieved. It took every fiber in my body to not cry as I watched my hair be butchered to lack of knowledge on female short hair. Its 2018, short hair on females is not a new thing. I left covered in hair, due to the lack of a cape being used in the beginning. They originally asked me to pay $40 for the haircut (no shampooing, No styling, just a cut). I claimed, this is a males haircut and they pushed the price down to $25. Never will I go back. I will never recommend this place to a female due to their misunderstanding of making a women feel beautiful when she leaves. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

3 things I loved about this place!!Number 1: I had an appointment somewhere else and my hairstylist quit on me. I had 2 hours to find another salon to squeeze me in on a Friday night. I called 3 other places before SoYoung and no luck. However, SoYoung had room for me.Number 2: My hair came out exactly how I wanted it and I saw the other customers hair that also came out fabulous. I needed my makeup done as well and my stylist (Jessica) stayed passed closing by 30 minutes for me.Number 3: The total for my hair was 25 dollars!!! I have hair down to my butt and I am 57. Usually salons charge extra to straighten long hair but they did not. Go see Jessica because she does an amazing job!

I love So Young shes been my stylist for years. I wouldnt have anyone else do my hair.

I was debating on doing 3 stars but decided on 2 stars; I really loved my hairstylist Jessica F, but about 11-12 days after I got my hair done the color started washing out of my hair. I didn’t believe it at first, because, it was definitely a permanent dye, but it happened. I decided I was going to soak in the bathtub, hair pulled back with a clip, I was in there for about 15, maybe even a little over 20 minutes, when I noticed that my bath water was a shade of pink/red. My first thought was that I was bleeding, so I checked all over and it wasn’t that, I wasn’t using any type of salts or bath bombs, I wasn’t using anything. Then I thought it was my hair, because I had dyed it a darker shade of red; and I was definitely right, it was my hair. I noticed that some of my hair had been in, soaking in the bath as well (warm water). So I decided to call the salon and a girl picked up, it almost sounded like I was on speaker, but anyways she pulled my acct up on the computer and confirmed what was done to my hair at the salon, I explained what Was going on and she assured me that I would get a call back by the end of the business day because Jessica was with a client. I said okay, and we ended the phone call. I never got a call back from anyone at the salon. I was pretty upset because my hair was bleeding, it wasn’t a lot, but my hair is definitely lighter than it was. I don’t know about hair, in my line of work I just have to throw it up and go, but I had just spent a couple hundred on my hair... so I wanted to know what I could do, and how to stop it. My husband and a couple other people said my hair looked “patchy” after that day, but before that day I was getting compliments. Now I’m slightly insecure about wearing my hair down in public. This incident almost makes me regret dying it here in the first place.

I came to So Youngs because of Patrick. He is the absolute best!! Not only do i always love his haircuts and color, he always makes me feel so special and we have become great friends! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional stylist!Since i started going there I have started seeing Amber for my waxing! She is the greatest and always so personable and caring! .And last but not least, i just started going to Nikki for for my nails .She is also wonderful! She is always so caring and really takes a personal interest in you and your nail needs .I have terrible fingernails and she is doing a wonderful job trying to get my nails back in good shape!I want to say also how wonderful Jo is as their receptionist! In all my experiences with salons and different receptionests, Jo is the very best I have ever had the experience of working with! She makes the clients feel so special and seems to truly care about each one. She always wants to make sure your experience at So Youngs is the best! I dont know if any management realizes how important this is to their clients!I love all four of the wonderful people and would recommend Patrick, Amber and Niiki to everone! I can also guarantee you that if you decide to try their services you will throughly enjoy getting to know Jo at the front desk! I rate all four of these wonder people 5 stars!The only thing I would recommend that could be improved at this salon would be the terrible shoes they give you to wear outside after you have a pedicure! I have never seen anything so bad. Today was my first pedicure, which was wonderful. But, since i did not bring flip flops to wear home, which i have never done before, i was given this hugh pair of yellow slip ons that were horrible. After I finished laughing when I first saw them, I tried to walk to my car wearing them. First of all, they are hugh and would not stay on, then I had to slid my feet to try and move in them and finally, one of my nails got messed up when i was trying to get in my car. Now, I am having to go back to the salon in the morning to get Nikki to repair it. I hate that Nikki is going to have to take her time to redo what she did today!Please, please purchase something decent for clients to wear to their cars after a pedicure. Every other salon i have ever been to anywhere to have a pedicure had the same type of throw away flip flops to wear home and they work great! That is the only thing that would improve service at the great Salon. Other than that, everything there is wonderful!!

Do not waste your time getting a balayage from this salon. They do not care about the health of your hair. The colorist (Whittney) literally fried my hair. It took her approx. 4 hours to heavily damage my hair. The toner didn’t stay and whole head turned into Ronald McDonald look. Long story short I went back after few days to get it toned down. They told me the water in my area might be the issue for not holding the toner. Their lists of excuses for their incompetences are long lol. However, I went back to get deep conditioning treatments etc and nothing is working at the moment. I am looking at long road to recovery from a bad balayage done by incompetent colorist. Soyoung, I request you to get some professional Colorist who has actually taken training and courses, and do not let self proclaimed colorist who has learned it from YouTube experiment on others through your salon. One star is for great customer service and free deep treatments (thank you for that!).

This salon is FABULOUS! I am a former salon owner, of an elite salon in Tallahassee, Florida and so I know the real deal when I see it. A former employee of mine, Brooke Corley, introduced me to Soyoung salon. Brooke lived in Tallahassee and short time before returning to Columbus and being a key component to Soyoung Salon. This salon is state of the art, modern, and beautiful. It has a great location and a friendly staff. Of course, I highly recommend Brooke for any service she offers, she was an outstanding employee of mine and I can only image the asset she is to this fine salon. As someone who is still in the industry, just not as an owner, I must say that I have seen Soyoung and members of her staff at hair shows and training classes in and out of Georgia to further their education and make sure they are up to date on the latest trends. I know personally, that Brooke has credentials and accreditations, a mile long. The woman knows hair and takes pride in the work she does. I believe in the atmosphere they create, the product lines they use and sell, and the talent these ladies possess. I tip my hat to Soyoung for creating and running such a fine establishment. I know how hard it is and I appreciate someone who can do it with such stride. The fact, that I am no longer a salon owner, gives me freedom to see who I wish for my hair, waxing, and spa needs. I may not travel the hours for nail services and such but I will in a heartbeat travel the 5 hours to have Brooke color, cut, and style my hair or conquer all my waxing needs. Brooke left an impression on Tallahssee as well by showing them her talent, I know others travel to see her and those who cant try and catch her while she is here. I may not know the other ladies well but knowing that they are part of such a thriving salon, makes them amazing too! Hats off to Soyoung Salon and Spa!

I have been going to So Young Salon since the day it opened and I have been seeing my stylist longer.... I travel over an hour to get there every 5wks and I love my time and experiance with both the salon and my stylist!!! I am sorry to hear that Miss had a difficutlt time.... however, I am confident that this experiance is NOT the norm and that it has a remedy of nothing but positive GROWTH for ALL!!!! In regards to Redkin.... WOW, I finally have a product on my high maintence RED hair that leaves my hair in the BEST condition EVER.... all I can say is MUAH and I love you guys.... !!!!!
