Went to Mike’s on a whim after moving to Ohio and needing a reliable mechanic. I was expecting to have to search extensively for a good mechanic but luckily I found Mike’s first! I can’t say enough good things about this shop. The receptionist was warm and helpful. I’m extremely impressed by how honest, friendly, yet professional, timely, thorough, detail oriented, and efficient this shop is. I love feeling like I spent my money well- and I feel great spending my money here. For as long as I’m in Ohio and as long as Mike runs that shop I will be using this mechanic. Superb, friendly, and HONEST service. Mike and his sister are genuinely good people. I took my 14 yo car in because I thought I needed new brake pads and rotors. Mike called me and asked why i thought I needed them replaced. I told him because of the grinding sound they are making. He explained that what I am hearing is the sound of rust scraping because he correctly guessed that I had not driven my car in the past year and half. WOW! Had i taken my car to any number of other places, I am certain that I would have been told that I needed all new brakes plus a bunch of other stuff as well. I cannot recommend Mike enough. Just go see him.

I have taken three of my vehicles to Mike. The first was a 2001 Hyundai Elantra that needed a serpentine belt replaced that I didnt know how to do at the time. He only charged me for the belt because it was a quick and easy job. Downfall of that was that the belt ended up being garbage because it snapped within a month, but a defective part isnt his fault so I dont blame him. I did call the shop to let them know what happened, and they offered to replace it at their expense, but a buddy of mine had bought the car from me by that time so it wasnt a big deal. I just wanted them to know so they could avoid that situation in the future. The second car I took to Mike was a 1997 Ford Explorer. After looking it over, he called and told me if I didnt have another car that I should be looking for one because repair on the Explorer would fall somewhere in the $6,000 range and frankly it wasnt worth it to put the money into. The third car I just got back from him a little while ago, and he told me the same thing. Id taken my baby to him, a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally, because... I just inherently knew something was wrong. Well... I was right! He called and told me the same thing as with my Explorer, that I should look for a new car because repairs were looking to be in the $5,500 range or more. But this time he said that it would actually be worth it to put the money into, but it would take more time than what I had. So my Lancer now sits in my driveway because I want to keep it, but I am also following his advice and looking for a new primary car. People always have their problems with mechanics, and obviously Mikes is pretty pricey too (about $120 an hour or so), but I trust him. Hes been candidly honest with me in a way that Ive not seen before, especially when Im the typical easy target to be taken advantage of because Im still pretty ignorant on mechanics as a whole. He couldve easily tried to swindle me into paying thousands for repairs on these vehicles but instead very plainly told me, This just isnt worth it. I appreciate and trust that level of candor and Im willing to pay top dollar for it.

Been going to Mike’s for awhile. Always does a great job. I like that he goes over what future service needs that the car has when you pick it up. Never try’s to up sell for add’l work, just lets you know what to keep an eye on, and what may be coming up.

Mike’s company is of excellent quality in terms of workmanship and customer service. He is always up-front with me and doesn’t push services that can be done at a later date. I started using him about one year ago after I graduated OSU and needed a dependable mechanic. I always feel well taken care of & have the comfort of a peace of mind. Last week my car wouldn’t start so I had to tow my vehicle to his shop after three particularly draining night shifts. He got me in same day and didn’t charge me after a full inspection. It isn’t often you find someone who isn’t trying to take advantage of your car problems but Mike is dependable!

Never had a car serviced here but received excellent advice over the phone that saved time and money. 2012 Acura TSX engine would crank but not start. Called Mikes to see if we could get the car towed over for service. After explaining the cars symptoms, they gave me a recommendation to try and when I did the car started and was drivable. They were very helpful and professional over the phone. Cant thank them enough for giving us the advice and not having to have the car towed in and serviced. Will definitely call them back and go here for future needs!

This is a great, local shop. So friendly and helpful and never tries to up sell you on something you don’t need. Have used them several times for repairs and service on my Honda and plan on coming back if I need anything else!

I took my Fiat 500L to Mikes when the check engine light came on. They were able to get me in the same day I called. They ran a diagnostic and told me that in order to confirm what the computer was saying there was a $150 test theyd have to run. But even that might not be conclusive. He suggested they turn the light off and only run the test if it came back on. He did and it has not....I cannot tell you how much I appreciate working with a company that is so honest. I think anyone else would have told me I needed the $150 test. Mikes has my loyalty and I dont think Ill be going anywhere else for service in the future!

As an international student, I dont have enough information where I should visit to repair my cars. I had visited two dealer service center before, and those were not good. So, my friend recommended this place, saying that he and his whole family member are visiting this place.I visited Mike to check my engine alarm and change engine oil. He did with relatively cheap price and let me know how to deal with my engine problem. Even though he could fix the engine for me, he recommended to visit the official dealer to solve the issue because doing so at the dealer shop could be much cheaper than doing at Mikes place.He did not choose to earn more right away but recommended his customer to save the customers money.

Ive been taking my two older cars here for the past two years and Ive constantly had a good experience. They communicate well and offer honest input on how to prioritize the maintenance of your vehicle. Very quick turnaround on work and I always receive my vehicle back in better condition than it was whenI brought it in. I wouldnt take my cars anywhere else.

BMW service is always expensive, but at least with Mike, you get an honest and thorough explanation. He has taken my used BMW X3.0 purchase pile of junk and made it a reliable, dependable commute-mobile. Mike recently did a third party inspection for me on a gently used car I bought. He fit me into his schedule quickly and took time to explain any and all of his findings. Prior to taking my car here, I had been driving an hour south any time I had car issues because I did not have a mechanic in the Columbus area that I knew and trusted; after my recent experience at Mike’s, I will definitely be bringing my car to him for any future service or problems!!!

Honest, fair priced auto repair. I recommend this place to anyone who owns an older foreign car. He has worked on our 2000 Mazda Miata and 2002 Honda accord. I work on my cars regarding simple issues like brakes and whatnot. My father was a good mechanic when I was a child and Mike has the same approach. Tell you what is needed and warn you about the possible outcomes regarding older cars. That is the truth about cars. Brakes might lead to new caliber, been there and done that. One never knows what else he may discover and they will tell you as they discover and give you options/outcomes/recommendations.

Ive been taking my car to the Mike for two decades and I am always very satisfied with the service. I have never once had to bring the car back, Mike always fixes it right the first time! Mike is a fantastic guy as well and hes really passionate about providing great service to his many customers! They are close to downtown which is makes it convenient.

Stay clear of this place. Stay very clear. Im from out of town. I took my car here after being quoted a price for work over the phone. After towing my car there and actually seeing it, they confirmed the price. Fair enough. While working on it, these guys encountered some kind of problem during the course of the repair, they said the repair took them longer than they thought, so they jacked up the price about 50% and they let me know about it after they were done. They said basically, well, its an old car which they knew before they started. So it took me a lot longer to pay for the car as I was strapped for cash. On the day I went to pick it up, I drove by a few hours before I was to pick it up and I saw they had the car in the garage for some unknown reason. Who knows what they were doing. I came by later that day, paid the rest of my balance and drove off. I got five miles down the road before the car died. Turns out someone had put a hole in the radiator, a hole that wasnt there before I took to this place, a hole that would have been obvious if they had honestly been checking the car over before I arrived. Its possible they brought the car in to check it over before I got there, but given their history, its likely they damaged at that time it but decided simply not to take responsibility for it. So basically, if they quote you a price (which gives them a chance to take into account all of the factors, such as the unknowns, the age of the car, etc.) and they screw something up during the course of a repair, its on you, according to these guys. With their logic, If a shelf of parts falls on your car, or if your car falls off the lift or if they cause any kind of damage to your car while they are working on it, then guess who pays for the damage? Too bad, you do! Now if youre local and your a car enthusiast, and youre friends with them, you might not have the same problem I encountered. Or if you agreed to pay them hourly for a repair regardless of how long it takes and you dont care if they charge you more, then youre probably fine. But in my case they didnt see the need to honor their contract. Thankfully the statute of limitations in Ohio for breach of contract is 4 years.

After being referred by friends of mine, I took our 18 year old car to Mikes. After giving me a detailed run-down of what it needed, he posed the possibility that we might be better off putting that money toward a different car. We appreciated the advice, especially as it meant that Mikes was NOT getting business out of the diagnosis when he could easily have strung us along on for awhile.

Although Mike ended up not working on my vehicle, I had a great experience with him. My car was leaking coolant BAD. I had it towed to Mike who looked at it the same day for me and found I needed my water pump replaced, which is a costly service. Instead of just making the repair, Mike took it upon himself to do some research and found this issue was actually a recall that should be covered under my warranty. He called the dealership for me and found it was covered, so by taking it to them I did not need to pay anything. I really appreciated him going above and beyond and saving me a TON of money. Additionally, he didnt charge me to take a look at the car. Any service I need in the future, I will for sure be returning! THANK YOU!

Took my 740il in and they were very professional. They were very honest and sorry that they couldnt fix the particular problem, but went through many different scenarios so we felt comfortable that the problem was not feasible to fix financially. They could have charged us for repairs that might or might not fix the problem. Bravo for such honesty! Will definitely use and recommend them from now on!

I had a headlight that was blinking on and off. I took it somewhere closer to home and after looking at the lightbulb they told me I needed a whole new headlamp for a total of $1400. I brought it to Mike, he inspected the lightbulb closer and noticed that the tip of it was dark. He put in a new lightbulb for $180…… I don’t need to say anymore Except the light problem is fixed

Honest friendly repair shop. I brought my VW Touareg here to have a BG intake cleaning done. The owner was very informative, friendly, and honest. I also watched from outside and the mechanic doing the work was very detailed in his work. Some tape residue got on the intake tube and he wasnt happy with his job till he cleaned it off. They also did a full inspection and advised me of a small oil leak that I knew about. The best part they told me it was not that serious snd could wait to repair it. Any other place would say it needed fixed asap! If any thing else comes up Ill be sure to go to Mikes!
