I love Land Bank Apartments! Allison, the Property Manager is amazing. She really cares about her residents and truly makes it feel like home. I would recommend Land Bank to any one moving to the Columbia area.
Ive lived here since it opened in May last year. There were a few minor inconveniences due to construction not being 100% complete upon moving in. However, management was very accommodating and responsive to potential construction-related issues. The building itself is beautiful and elegant and flooded with natural daylight due to the large windows (which is a huge plus for me). As far as amenities-- there is no gym, and the pool leaves much to be desired. But there is a YMCA a few steps from the building with a great gym and sauna. Its very quiet, as most of the residents Ive seen are professionals (Ive met a couple of doctors and a police officer). This is the first apartment Ive had where Ive had a completely positive experience since day one. Its been a pleasure living here and if I wasnt moving out of state, Id probably never leave!
Our stay at landbank was complicated but I would recommend them if you are looking for somewhere to stay downtown. We had a smell issue in our apartment, and they worked hard to rectify the situation. Anytime we had a problem maintenance was there the same day. Far better turn around than other people I have dealt with. I can say they care about their tenants despite any structural issues that there may be in certain units.
Love the staff and my apartment! The historic building and artwork on each floor is very beautiful.
Beautiful building, just need a better working security system at the door. It takes forever to find a resident.
We’ve been here since 2016 and we love it!
Beautiful but over priced
PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING LAND BANK LOFTS.My wife and I lived here for 8 months. Here are a few things to note prior to moving in:the elevators are NOT included in the lease agreement. This is due to a pre-existing issue with the elevators that the ownership team knew about. I spoke personally to one of the building’s owners (who had no idea I was a tenant) and she openly told me they intentionally did not fix the elevators and intentionally did not include them on the lease because they knew the elevators would (and did) break. They broke about a month after we moved into the top floor. I found this frustrating since the managers showed us the building using the elevators and even stopped showing the complex for a time because their show room is on the 5th floor. They back-handedly tried saying no tenant deserved compensation for the broken elevators, since they weren’t included in the lease. Several strongly worded emails later, including the admittance that one of their team knew the issue would happen, they cut a massive $50 off every months rent.We had no janitorial staff for four months because he quit and no tenants were notified. Again, not his fault but there are ceiling tiles missing from the stairways, signs that hand fallen off the wall and on multiple occasions the hand rail had been ripped off the wall or hanging by a screw. The front door of the building didn’t lock for 4 months. This is downtown Columbia and the building supposedly runs off a card FOB to get in.There are no security cameras for the parking lot, just at the entrances to the building, which Again, has doors that did not lock. The reason I bring this up is due to break-ins in both our lot and the YMCA lot, which land bank lofts also owns.A moving truck ran over the security gate card FOB and the parking lot that you pay at least $35 a month to park in became a public parking lot during the weekends. Gate security is on the lease. If it’s not working, don’t pay for it when you sign your lease. If you live on the 5th floor be prepared for the heat of the summer. We blew a TON of money for two months trying to keep our apartment cool in the summer but it was next to impossible. Even with the air conditioning down to 62, the apartment would sit at 75-78 until 10:30/11 at night. The management team at the apartment complex it almost impossible to get a hold of during the day. They have an automated phone line to use but there’s nobody there on the weekends and rarely can you get a hole of them during the week, even during business hours. All in all I will say this: the location is great. Allison is doing the best she can. The frustration we had goes directly to the ownership.
Beautiful historic building and great location
Over priced not curb appeal small units pay for parking and weighed trash....cold uninviting decor in units and hallways...
Elevator has been broken for over a year.
Avoid
I lived from 2018 to 2019. Its new and clean, the people of management are also very kind. There is a gym nearby, and if you live here you get a one month discount. Sometimes there is a blackout, but it is better than that.
