Mike and his crew were extremely transparent throughout the whole process; I went with Hometown Comfort after price shopping the greater Spring Hill area and found them to be competitive with the others in the area, but they provided a sense of confidence that is priceless. Would recommend them for any and all HVAC related issues. The installation of the new unit went off without a hitch and they were very mindful of my time as well as theirs.
The whole staff at Hometown Comfort is excellent. Front office staff is super responsive and awesome communication. They had to come out several times for my unit and everytime, they were very pleasant to work with.
Homeowners beware - this company and specifically the owner, Mike, are a joke. Not only to they make promises they can not follow through on, but they will expect you to pay for work that is not complete. He is rude, unprofessional and a terrible communicator. Do yourself a favor, read the other reviews that also say this, and then read the terrible response he has made to them. You as the customer are always in the wrong according to him and that is not how business is supposed to work. Scroll on, there are so many good people out there and sadly for those of us that have worked with Mike and Hometown Comfort, this is not one of them.
Our AC went out in the heat of summer, due to heavy amounts of dirt and debris in the unit. We were enrolled with Hometown Comforts maintenance program, but according to another companys assessment, it was clear that Hometown Comfort had never once cleared the debris. This failure to conduct what should be standard maintenance was the primary reason our AC went out for a day.
I called Hometown Comfort after hours for a non emergency but needed them out ASAP. They called me back the evening I left a voicemail and confirmed they could be at my home the next morning.Once the technician came out he informed me he was testing things but needed to allow my condenser to unfreeze and he would need to reschedule me (of course I was a bit concerned). I got a call back from the office at this point and they stated theyd be back in about three hours.Once they came back, they diagnosed my problem fixed it at a VERY reasonable cost and didnt charge me for the two visits.I highly recommend this company.
BUYER BEWARE: This company has zero integrity.. As a retired soldier who served in Special Operations, I gave Hometown Comfort a chance to work on my air condition and replace the duct work that we had agreed upon that needed to be changed, since the company was supposedly a Vet. I never would have thought a veteran owned company would do such an act to another service member...I also paid for my service in advance which was 2400. Once paid, HOMETOWN COMFORT disappeared... The owner is a crook.. I have tried to call this company over and over and they will not return my call..DO YOURSELF a favor and go to the next business in line..
Great job replacing my old a/c and heat unit. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for taking care of my family when we needed it.
Michael and his team were awesome to deal with from Caitlin in the office to the installation team. I feel confident that I got an affordable and quality heating and cooling unit from Hometown Comfort.
All the Hometown employees have been very friendly and professional, from the first call I placed to them, to the setting of the propane tank. Special thanks to Adam Perry (Service and installation). Adam did a very professional job installing the tank and regulator. plus he was very friendly. I would highly recommend Hometown Comfort.
Michael is an outstanding and amazing hard worker with fair prices. He’s extremely trustworthy, and is always willing to go the extra mile.
Michael was great! He was very helpful and the prices were on target!
We were referred to Hometown Comfort by another contractor who could not help us with our AC unit. Mr. Self (the owner) responded immediately to our call, came out the next morning to assess the situation, thoroughly explained and showed the problem with the unit, and gave us options for repair. We decided to replace the unit and it was done the next day. We are so grateful to Mr. Self... we appreciate his timely/professional/polite manner, definitely recommend, and will be using in the future to service/any other needs.
Hometown Comfort has done an excellent job maintaining our Heating and Air unit. Because of his consistently good work weve made this old unit last us nearly 16 years already, and still going strong! Michael is a great guy and always shows up on time and has even shown up a few times in a pinch when we were having an issue. He does great work, highly recommended!
Our air wasnt working. I called 1st thing in the morning and he was here by 10:30 am. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem (already had a new part in his truck) in about 20 min. Fast, friendly, and reliable service. Would highly recommend Michael.
Thank you Michael. Our air went out not only at our home but also our restaurant. Michael is very friendly and has very competitive pricing. I recommend him to everyone. Give him a call.
The Owner Michael is a kind and productive worker. I called him a couple weeks ago with a heating issue, my thermistat was saying it was 75 inside but it felt more like 62. After getting in touch with him, he came out the next day and now my home is back to a bearable temp! Thank you hometown comfort!
We were without hot water on a Saturday. I called and he was out of town, said he would call first thing Monday morning when he returned. True to his word, he called, came right over and was able to get the water heater fixed. He was very neat and the price was more than fair. I will definitely use him again for all of our air condition/heating needs. Especially since we had a terrible experience with Hiller.
We have used Hometown comfort for years as we put a bandaid on our unit. Michael would every year get the air conditioning in working order, but also telling us we would need a new unit. He would explain to us that it may or may not last, but never pressuring us. During the major heat of the summer 2016, it finally gave out. We did not hesitate at all nor get other bids; We called Hometown Comfort. Michael came out gave us a couple of options and allowed us to choose. He showed up on the day promised, and finished the job on time. Michael then took a picture of the unit, sent it to his office and THEY registered my unit for me. Customer service!!!!
Our 1 year old unit installed by a different company stopped working and we called Hometown because we were very displeased with the original company. On their third trip Hometown finally solved what turned out to be a complex problem. The original installer had left an opening in the sheet metal through which critters had gained access. One of them got fried and ruined a component. Hometown replaced it but the unit worked only a few hours. Trip number two resulted in determining the thermostat was faulty and it was replaced. Once again, the unit stopped working after a few hours. On th third visit Hometown discovered the critters had chewed through some of the wires under the house which controlled the thermostat. They were willing to undertake the task of rewiring it but after discussion, we decided to upgrade to a wireless thermostat. Bingo! Problem solved! I appreciate the fact that they hung in there until they found the solution. They are good people. I would use them again if something else failed. The moral of this story is to always insist contractors TOTALLY close off outside access to your crawl space. It takes only a small opening for rats, possums and other pests to gain entry.
My furnace went out in January while we were out of town, returned home to a 54 degree house, called a local HVAC company that my neighbor called in while we were gone. They came out and did a bandaid repair that completely ruined the unit. I called Mike and he was out the next morning in freezing cold and installed a new Ruud HVAC (Consumer Report says theyre among the best) in record time and reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend Home Town Comfort for all your HVAC needs. Im a Realtor with CRYE-LEIKE and recommend Mike to all my clients.
