Eric repaired a Rinnai tankless water heater after a couple of glitches in delivery of uninterrupted hot water. He did a thorough service and Mark was able to get Rinnai to send a blower motor assembly free of charge! Eric and Mark were terrific to work with and we are extremely satisfied. With all of the Covid-19 and junk in the air I was looking for clean air. I called Air Waves and they had a solution for me and they were able to make it happen right away. I was given a quote and that is the amount I paid to the penny. They are super nice and very professional. Had Eric out the other day to check out my a/c unit that wasn’t working. He checked out the unit explained the problem and what it would cost to get it working again. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He sign me up for a service agreement and I got my a/c unit working again before the hot weather gets here. As property owners who have purchased and renovated multiple units, this is one of the worst providers that I have ever had to deal with. If you come across this review, I can only hope that it will steer you away from doing business with this company. Not only did the technician make up some crazy story about an embargo and a shortage of AC units (we sourced similar units from other providers with no issue), but he attempted to pressure us into replacing the entire system rather than a simple repair. He told us that the system was a ticking time bomb, in an effort to convince us that we had to do something right away. In fact the quote itself failed to itemize anything in an attempt to confuse us. Bear in mind, the occupant of the house is a female 2nd Lieutenant in the US Airforce as well as a med school student, (On Scholarship) that the technician was attempting to use confusing language to create a high pressure situation, when a simple repair would have done the job. He went into the attic space and noticed a block of ice on one of the lines and said that it had to defrost, so he shut the system down and said he would come back. When the student returned to the house there was water leaking from the ceiling and down the walls. The technician never told her that there was a missing pan and that she should place something under the ice to catch the water. His negligence caused damage to the house. He then had the audacity to laugh at her on the phone and tell her it is her fault because he didnt install the unit. That may be true, but as a professional he should have noticed the missing pan and told her what might happen. He took no accountability for the damage to the house he caused. When she escalated the situation to the manager, she received a call from the owner Mark who was equally rude to her and refused to take responsibility. Mark continuously cut her off during the phone call and would ask, Are you finished rather than hearing her out. He became confrontational and threatened her by saying he had a recording of her call, which is not only an odd thing to say, but that call contains no information other than the request to speak to the technicians supervisor. This is by far the worst customer service we have ever experienced and we will do our best to ensure that anyone seeking assistance from this vendor is aware of how they do business. Below you will find the quote alongside what we found on pricing for what they quoted us and you can see the outrageous markup they are putting on this student. -Added: As Google will not let me post a reply to the ridiculous statement by the owner, please note that I have included the actual proposal provided by his company in my review and if the black wasnt there you would see my name and phone number as the customer who called in for the service. Curious how your attorney will locate me if I didnt contact you for service. Of course you can see from his reply what kind of person you would be dealing with if you engage with this company, where anyone who posts a negative review is not a customer. Ive got the proof and its posted. Ive also added additional photos so you can see the condition of the house after they came and did what they did and then left without any notification from the professional technician as to mitigating ensuing water issues. Another update - Got a second opinion on what needs to be done and with no pressure whatsoever was shown how to keep the system running for now but should we choose to update and replace it, they offered multiple options that were $2,000 less than this place here. If you want to know who the other vendor is and want to save some money, just let me know. Sept 29 Update - had a few pounds of coolant put in and it’s been working perfectly for a while now. So much for a ticking time bomb. Didn’t need a new system after all.

Mark and his staff are great! I have been using them 20 years ( I think ) and they have always been on time and provided great service and I have always been pleased. I just had to have a new system put in the house and while we were making plans to move forward with it we decided that we would replace ALL the 40 year old duct work so needless to say this was quite a job. Steve came in (takes his shoes off every time) and we talked about locating some vents to other areas to make the best use of the new system and he was very knowledgeable about placement and took great pains to not damage the new flooring that had just been installed. long story short I own a small business and I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and I feel I have been provided with a great product. thank you Mark and Steve.

After Hurricane Mathew came through last month, leaving us without electricity and running water for 5 days, we decided to purchase a whole-house generator. Air Waves was recommended by a friend who was very happy with the companys installation and service on her own whole-house generator. After obtaining a few quotes from area vendors I decided to go with Air Waves. Their price was comparable to the other vendors but the unit they quoted, a Kohler model, had higher ratings on Consumer Reports than what the other vendors offered. We could not be happier with Air Waves. The entire staff at Air Waves is friendly, courteous and prompt. Our generator was ordered, shipped and ready to install in less than a week. The owner, Mark Baker, personally supervised all aspects of the installation, including where to best place the unit and dealing with some electrical issues unique to our house. It took just two days to get the generator installed and running. We are very happy with every aspect of our experience with Air waves and feel confident in their 24/7 service should we ever need it. Highly recommended!

Our air conditioner stopped working about 6:00 pm on Memorial Day. We placed a call to air waves. Within a few minutes the owner called and said he would come soon. He diagnosed the problem and said he would get the part the next day. He offered to bring a window unit. He returned with parts to fix the problem. Soon we back in business. Over the next couple of days he ordered the original part that was under warranty. In about a week one of his technicians came to install the new part. We have been happy customers for a couple decades.

The service was fast, I called and the answering service had a tech call me back so I thought I may have found a good AC company to use. I was told that the service call was $100 to come out on a Sunday, I thought that was reasonable as well. However, when the tech checked the unit he found a bad thermostat and quoted me $301 just to change the existing thermostat with a non-programmable thermostat that you can get from Lowes for about $30 dollars or less. I believe in paying but this is outrageous. I will pay them for service rendered but will never use them again.

At Air Waves everyone is treated fairly and with respect, customers and employees alike. I now live in Northern California but when I needed help with my heating he was my first call and he directed me to someone i could trust!

Beware of this company. I asked for one service, and they changed be more than double for a service plan. I have a recording of the conversation phone conversation. I disputed the charge through capital one. They said I was lying, essentially, and resubmitted the charge. Im not having to take them to small claims court. I will play the recording for the judge, and hopefully get my money back. Please dont allow them to take advantage of you too. If I could give them less than 1 star I would.

When my air conditioner stopped working, Air Waves Heating & Air was by far the most professional of the three companies I contacted. They showed up on time and the technician diagnosed the problem very quickly. The compressor on my A/C unit had gone out and they were able to fix it the same day. It was over 100 degrees in the house and we were suffering from the heat so getting the problem fixed fast was very important to us. The other two companies I called couldnt get the part the same day and Air Waves not only had the part but worked late and got us going so we were able to sleep comfortably. I would highly recommend Air Waves Heating & Air for any problems you are having with your A/C or furnace. They know what they are doing, they care about the customer and they get it done fast!

I have used Air Waves for years. I have used both their annual maintenance plan and once, when lightning struck and took out the mother board on the heat pump. They have always called to tell me when they would be there and they were there on time, every time. The technician showed and explained the problem along with the cost to repair and when I gave my approval, they fixed my unit very quickly.I recommend them to all my friends. I havent heard any complaints from my friends that also use them.

Before I get into the problem with using this company let me first state that Technician Mark M who provided services to my home was very professional with his work, this one star does not reflect him. On Sunday, May 8 (Mothers Day) we came home to a hot house to discover that our AC unit was not properly working. Given that I have a 19 month old daughter we immediately called a company to come find out the problem. Air Waves came out. We knew that rates would probably be higher given the time and day of the call. We know that products have a cost mark up. Mark suggested what temporary solutions we could make to get the AC unit up and running and quoted us a price for a new unit in the future. Exactly 2 weeks later, the unit failed again leaving us no choice but to replace it entirely. We received a couple different quotes to weigh our options.When explaining to someone how I hated the fact that I put almost $800 dollars in a unit that is now being replaced, I was asked what all was done. After answering this question this person was dumbfounded and shocked over what I paid. So heres EXACTLY what I paid for on my itemized invoice, one 40 MFD 230-440V CAPACITOR 6-J was $352.50, three REFRIGERANT-22 for $294.00 and of course LABOR which totaled $110.00. Total of $756.50. Heres the big problem, a CAPACITOR can be found for $10.00 and if you also Google this part, you can find in the price range of 10-20 dollars. Note, we understand there are price mark ups, we understand this happened on a Sunday later in the evening but how is that figure calculated? We would have never known this unless it was brought to our attention. After seeking a few opinions, my fiance called and spoke with Manager Mark about this and requested fair pricing on the parts sold. Well that was an immediate no. Mark was notified that we will place reviews and turn to social media because I refuse to let another consumer go through this. Mark also called me today, May 26 and the only thing I got out of that conversation was that my fiances one star rating reflected the technician. No sir, your company is doing that. Your one star rating comes from you PRICE GOUGING (when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent) the public who lack the knowledge about this line of work. Also I got to hear about overhead, employee insurance, materials, van depreciation but I was never given a satisfied answer. This story can go much longer, many words were exchanged but here is my point...if you are okay with dumping your wallet out for this company then by all means choose them. But first go online and price check one of these capacitors. Then add on a fair mark up and some labor cost in there (b/c maybe thats what happened to that price), then ask yourself where did $352.50 come from? Thats the fair pricing you will get from them.Jane Leneave

It is true that a good sleep will keep your life happy and focused. We had been in a nightmare with our air conditioning unit issue for three weeks. Once the problem started, we called the company that was on top of Google search. The agent came and charged $100 per hour and additional $20 for every 15 minutes. We paid around $180. We live in a very large home and keep the house clean and beautiful. He said the units are no good to serve this size of the home and need to replace everything. It would cost us $20,000. We could not believe what we heard. It is a year and half old house.We decided to take a second opinion and called Air Waves Heating and Air. I spoke to the agent and briefly explained my situation. He setup an appointment the same day. Mr. Jim Rimer, the technician came in at 5:30 pm and worked around the system until 7:00 to identify the issue. He finally pin pointed the issue and had to come back the next day to fix it as he had to get the part. Luckily we had that in warranty.We just had to pay the labor and within 24 hours me contacting Air Waves Heating and Air, my AC unit is working fine.Just to add that not only Mr. Rimer the technician was professional, but also, understood our needs and seemed like he bent backward to help us resolve the issue.I would recommend Air Waves Heating and Air to anyone that needs professional hear and air unit repairs with a price that is affordable and reasonable.Home owner: Vamshi RudrapatiTechnician: Mr. Jim Rimer

I just cant say enough good things about the helpful and professional staff at Air Waves Heatig & Air. Several weeks ago the Harriet Hancock LGBT Center was struck by lightening which knocked out our AC and messed up our electrical system. We were in the midst of a heat wave and already had functions planned at the center. We called Mark Baker at Airwaves and told him of our plight and they came right away. The compressor had been hit and would have to be replaced and I knew it would cost a lot for the new unit and also the labor. HHC is a (501 (c) 3 charity organization and we depend on grants and donations to keep us going and our funds were really low. Mark called an electrician friend of his and got her out there immediately along with SCE&G and they went to work. Knowing what position were in financially, Mark got the Compressor donated and he donated all of Airwaves labor. By the end of the day the AC had a new compressor and the wiring was fixed. We only had to pay a small amount for the electrican (thanks to Mark). Air Waves donated their labor everything needed to fix the AC. The Air Waves crew knows what they are doing, they are efficient and they do great work. Our AC works wonderfully! Many thanks to Mark and his crew coming to or aid so quickly and for and their generocity.
