We’ve dealt with several HVAC companies, and there are several good ones out there. Mid-State has always been really great! Professional, dependable, reasonable. We’ve used them for routine maintenance on our personal home and rental unit for a few years now, and had them do several installs. We’ve been working with them to install a new system on our second story addition, and after getting quotes for $18k and $3k, theirs came in at a reasonable (and believable) $7k, and they went ahead and installed the line set, so we’re ready to do the rest once we can afford it 😁. Highly recommend!

Rick was so honest and helpful and friendly. I was told by two other companies that a new system was the only answer. But, Rick replaced the capacitor and thermostat and I was back up and running. I will definitely call them when it’s time for a full replacement. Thank you!

Had an issue with our older ac unit one evening, it wasnt cooling like it should. Made an appointment online after hours for the next day. At 8am I get a call saying Ryan would be there between 1:30 and 2 pm. At 1:45 Ryan comes down drive, introduces himself and we go into the problem with AC unit. Highly knowledgeable he starts troubleshooting my system, and finds the problem. He checks unit out top to bottom, cleans and makes sure its running as efficiently as possible. Ryan is a great technician, very professional and would call him out again if we have any future troubles. Highly satisfied and very reasonably priced.

I needed a unit installed in my basement(1700 sq ft.) I interviewed 3 different companies and Rick from Mid-State Heating and Air sounded like the most knowledgeable of the three. What a great experience! This week we had all of our duct work replaced. The installers were professional, respectful, hard-working, and showed integrity in their work. They communicated often and clearly as to the status of the job, and didnt wrap things up until we were completely satisfied with the work. And, the price was reasonable! I was handling a closing where the buyer and seller were disagreeing on whether or not the air conditioner needed to be replaced. After receiving conflicting answers from each partys AC company, I called Mid-State Heating and Air to act as somewhat of a neutral third party and determine whether the air conditioner really needed replacing. Jon squeezed an appointment into his schedule due to the closing happening later that week, and came out that very next morning to inspect the AC system. He was extremely professional and helpful, and solved the dispute between the parties to the closing. Mid-State Heating and Air sent two of their technicians, Austin and Roy, to my rental house today to install a ductless unit in the living room. Before the installation, the living room had not gotten below 75 and had gotten up to 84 some days during the 3 weeks I had already been in the house since mid-June, so it was very uncomfortable for my dog and me. Austin and Roy arrived around 9:10am and pretty much worked tirelessly until 6:00pm to complete the job on a hot day in July. My living room is now a comfortable temperature and I couldnt be more thankful. I would recommend Mid-State Heating and Air, and their two HVAC technicians Austin and Roy, to anyone for their cooling needs. Thanks again, well done!

I first called to find out if they were the ones who had put in the HVAC system years before I owned my house. They were not but Jennifer who works at the front was beyond helpful and helped me find out who had installed the system previously. She went out of her way to do this, helping me out even though they weren’t the installers and thinking I wasn’t going to use them. I decided I needed to get a few quotes from different HVAC companies because let’s be real, money is tight these days due to COVID-19. One company told me I was best to replace my ENTIRE system. Then I recalled Mid-State because they were so helpful on the phone the first go round. One of the owners Rick came and and did his own inspection and told me all I needed was some more Freon and it would last me a couple more years! To go from thinking I was going to have to spend between 5-7000 dollars to just paying 300 dollars was an answer to prayers. Thank you so much Mid-state I will recommend you to everyone I know! An honest company in it to help people and not swindle you out of your hard earned money.

Just approved Mid State Heating Air to install 2 new units in my home. John spent a lot of time making sure to size my units correctly. Other companies came in to quote and was out in 5 minutes, John asked a lot of questions about the construction and insulation and what I wanted to achieve. I called John several times with questions about the quote and even changed something on him at the last minute, his answer was always, no problem we will make it happen. I will give another review after install but right now 5 stars.

Mid-State moved into our neighborhood a couple of years ago. They cleaned up their property and made it beautiful. My daughter needed to earn a level award for her American Heritage Girl scout troop, and she decided to help our neighborhood committee to organize its National Night Out against crime. Mid-State generously supported her financially so she could achieve her goal. I needed to get into the office by 11:00am and Dave worked hard to get the guys out to me first thing in the morning. They did a thorough job and helped make sure my systems would be ready for the winter. I would highly recommend these guys, unless they start getting too much good business and cant fit me in :-)

I called Mid-State on a Monday morning to place a service call for my HVAC, which was struggling to keep the house cool. I spoke with Dave, who was very courteous and explained what they would need to do for the service call and even gave me some information on the potential cost. They had an opening that afternoon and actually called back to say they would be able to arrive earlier than scheduled and asked if that was okay. The service technician, John assessed the problem and resolved it within about 90 minutes and explained what the issue was and how he corrected it. Very pleased with the service and cost. I would definitely recommend (and already have) Mid-State Heating and Air.

Mid-State Heating and Air are truly God sent. From day one they have been truly helpful. Rick came out the next day and gave us a quote and helped us with getting finance. Heather and John was always available whenever we had questions and the installers were very professional and clean. We went though Microf Financing to get our unit finance. In the process of straightening my credit out and its not the best, but we were able to get approved. Within less than 2 weeks we had our unit installed and also received a follow up call. I normally do not give out reviews like this but some of these companies out here are just way out of line with their exorbitant prices. I decided to go with Mid-State after looking at the reviews, ratings, and google recommendations. I was having some problems with my unit, but I also wanted to start a service agreement. The price of the service agreement was reasonable, but little did I know what I was getting into. At the time of the appointment the technician provided me with the estimate. There was a leak and the system needed 10 lbs. of refrigerant. This repair was going to cost me about $1800 and according to them this was a generous estimate since they only charge up to 8 lbs. of refrigerant. I decided to look around for a better price and I got a better deal. I hired another HVAC technician and ended up paying $396. That’s right 5x less than what Mid-State was charging. The technician located the leak, soldered the unit, vacuum the pump from moisture and accomplished some other test before filling the unit to the recommended amount. This took the Technician no more than 45 minutes to complete. Costumers beware before you try to hire some of these companies that take advantage of your lack of knowledge and make it sound like you are in a deep hole and it will take a lot of money to fix the issue. I have had some experiences like it and 99% of the time it’s just a simple fix. If you are reading this review do not use the results from google since it only shows the HVAC contractors that will charge you an unreasonable price.

Back in February my Heating and Air unit went out. I got an estimate from the company that Id used for years and it was ought of sight. They must have thought they were too big to fail. Neighbor suggested Mid-State Heating and Air. Im sure glad they did. Rick came over quickly and gave me an estimate for a new unit and the duct work that needed to be fixed/replaced. They were here the next day in the cold and rain and put in everything. Heat and cool are now evenly distributed through out the house, These guys are very professional and friendly. Enjoyed talking and getting questions from everyone that worked on the system. They are the type of people that youd invite to dinner. Technicial just did my six month service which jogged my memory that I need to write a review.

Not trustworthy. Swindlers...and looks like Im not the first person to write the same type of review here! Beware.I called Midstate to evaluate HVAC because of their high reviews online. The tech they sent did not do any work-up, (I figured this out later as my unit was locked), but put freon in and told me to consider a $375 leak test.The quote I got for part and labor was so astronomical I called around and got other quotes. First of all, no one charged more than 150 for a leak test, but others said it was not even necessary in my case (large visible leak). Second, Midstate was more that TWICE the price for the part/labor. You want to pay an extra $1500? Me neither. They try to hide their scam to swindle your money behind low freon prices to buy your trust. This is the oldest trick in the book.Let me add that the tech sent was so creepy I would not have felt safe letting him into my house, and the owner who came out to try to check out the problem after I complained no work up was actually done had interpersonal issues and gave me the creeps as well...you know the way people talk when you just know theyre phony?Please avoid this company. I regret the more than $500 I gave them for diagnosis and freon replacement.

We found Mid-State through Daikins list of Comfort Pro-certified companies when we needed warranty repair and some additional troubleshooting on our Diakin mini-split heat pump at our home in West Columbia. Not only did Rick and team resolve our warranty repair, but they recommended and upgraded our system to add wi-fi-enabled thermostat controls to our two indoor units. Their work dramatically improved the overall monitoring and efficiency of our system. They provided this service 4 months ago, and we remain very satisfied with the outcome. Thanks Mid-State team!

Jon McCartha and his team with Mid State Heating and Air were wonderful! My husband and I had experienced an extremely frustrating situation, in which our AC remained broken from July- September last summer (at which time I was in the last months of our pregnancy). The company our warranty sent out was dishonest, unprofessional, and untimely. We had called serval different companies to run diagnostics on our system but found that most companies wanted to sell us on the pricier fixes to our system. We called Mid State in hopes that they would be the relief we so desperately needed to our air conditioning problem. Not only were they quick to respond, on time, professional, and honest, but they broke down our needs in a way that worked with our individual budget.We feel 100% confident that we can call on Mid State and they will take care of us every time. I called another company the day before, and they didnt spend even 10 minutes looking at my unit before they gave up and tried to sell me a new unit. Jonathan started his review from the bottom to the top. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem. He saved me thousands of dollars. Horrible service this company tried to rip me off had a unit that was no more than 3 yrs old needed a reversing valve replaced he then called he say his boss saying it seems like I need a piston replacement in the unit that will cost bout 3k Im like this unit is under warranty called another company and got it fixed for less then 100 bucks
