Gym is too small. Staff never knows anything. Wi-Fi does not work. Manager is never around. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I appreciate all the help from Aaron the director and the staff at Crunch Fitness. Aaron does a great job in training me and always keeps a positive vibe. This keeps me motivated and feeling proud from all his support! I recommend Aaron if you’re looking for a trainer or even Crunch Fitness itself if you’re just looking for a gym. Trust me you’ll feel right at home and not judged in any way!! Thank you again to Aaron I’m grateful for all of our training sessions!!! ✅

I joined Crunch Clifton in March of 2020 right before it closed down due to the pandemic. Once the gym reopened in the fall I was excited to get back but was still hesitant so I decided to downgrade my membership since all classes were inactive at the time & I was not ready just yet to take class when they started up. When I tried to downgrade, Aaron advised me of a downgrade fee, which surprised me since we were still in the middle of a pandemic & I had expressed I was not comfortable taking classes once they started up again. While speaking with him, he did not empathize or understand my concerns. I thought I would have to cancel my membership at this point as Aaron did not want to help. Finally after much back and forth, he waived the downgrade fee.Aron failed to explain that by downgrading my membership it completely cancelled out my previous year attending the gym & contract. Aron advised I would have to come into the center to sign some papers never explaining I was locked into a brand new contract.I then tried to cancel my membership in May as I am relocating in July. To my surprise I was told My contract was not up yet and I would have to pay a $85 cancellation fee.. When I tried to explain I had signed a membership agreement in March of 2020 and my contract should have been complete in March of 2021, Aron advised he was nauseated by this conversation, he was extremely unprofessional, screaming, offering no solutions and then hung up on me.Aron is extremely rude and should not be speaking to customers or in any position of management.DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!!!!

They sent me a coupon in the mail from crunch with the address of this location printed on it after I moved into the area. I thought, great, lets sign up. Took my coupon and went to the location. It says 7-day trial and has a starting price listed. They honored neither of them. They said they can do 3 day trial (which is whatever) but they also said the actual price is 50% higher than what the coupon says. Thats the old price the front desk person says even though the coupon came in the mail only two weeks ago. So the bottom line is that they will send a coupon to lure you in then come up with excuses to squeeze more money out of you. Don’t trust their marketing material.

Pretty good. Today was my first day. The set up is a little weird. At least for me. I guess Im just stuck on the set up of how my previous gym was. The cardio machines were in a completely different section from the weights and facing a wall mirror. All in all it was very clean, sanitary, and spacious. It also has a friendly staff 😁

Best Crunch Ive ever attended hands down. The weights are always aligned from lightest to heaviest, which in turn makes everyone else put their weights back correctly too. Clean, never too crowded, big parking lot.

Amazing people and an amazing gym, the director Aaron and the amazing Gibbs make the place feel like you are at home. I love this gym because it’s one of the only gyms I’ve been to that I feel welcomed and not judged. And they are very upfront about pricing and contracts which is a plus.

Crunch Clifton is the best gym around. I’ve been to other crunches, but keep coming back to this one. They offer the best classes with the most variety and the best instructors around (especially Gibbs!). Aaron is an attentive manager and makes sure all runs smoothly. The gym is always clean (even pre-Covid) and you can see the dedicated staff wiping down equipment, vacuuming the floors, and cleaning the mirrors. I’ve made so many “gym friends” here and made so many personal fitness gains, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. It’s a friendly environment where everyone feels like family. I’ll be moving about an hour away from Clifton within a few months, but I plan to come back for their HIIT classes as often as I am able to.

Cancellation fee is 85 bucks. Ridiculous. I was on a year contract and they kept renewing and charging me without my knowledge.

Overall good gym for the offered price. Definitely clean and safe to be in. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. It gets crazy busy during rush hour (4pm-7pm) and it takes forever to get a turn on a machine / equipment. Locker rooms are closed for some reason so you would see people’s stuff all over the place.

Horrible gym! Allowed me to sign up for a gym membership under false pretenses. I asked all the questions in person when I signed up and was lied to will be calling corporate to cancel my membership. I wish I would have read the horror stories listed below before I signed up. do not get a membership here! They racially profile children!you are not provided a phone number for corporate! The manager will refuse to give it to you! You complain via email and all complaints are directed and forwarded to the manager! As u can see look at the textbook automated response below! The manager backs up his staff regardless of what he is told! I edited my post! Do not waste ur money here they do not follow policy! And do not take complaints seriously !

I love this location. I live right next to the one in North Bergen and still drive 20 mins each morning to this one because of how great of an experience I have here. Super clean. Friendly staff. And when something is broken, its fixed within a day or two. That is something most gyms dont get right. would totally recommend to anyone.

To start off; this place is not a customer oriented business. They charge you a massive cancellation fee. They give you a hard time for cancelling. They have poor communication. I talked to both managers Gibbs and Aaron about my account on how much I owe after finally coming back. Gibbs and Aaron tell me they can waive late fees and tell me my overdue balance is 84 dollars. When I go and update my account they tell me I owe 141 dollars and they cannot waive my late fees!!! Where this all this money coming from. There was no annual fee included and I was on a basic membership. They said they would disregard fees as they were temporarily closed because of the pandemic however I was still charged!!. You literally need to keep track of all payments and need evidence or else they will sneak in other fees. Balances are always inaccurate. The only good thing about this gym is they sanitize everything and they’re cleaning staff work hard to do that in which they are not even respected from front desk staff and other trainers. Not to mention it’s say it’s a free judgement zone but when I would do my workouts on the turf in front of the staff. I was given looks and laughed at. Gym is way too small for that many members in which it makes social distancing impossible.

This gym is well equipped with a variety of equipment including a nice athletic training section. Easy to park as well.

I’ve been trying to cancel my gym membership here for the past couple months now. I’ve emailed “Aaron Gonzalez,” the supposed manager of the gym multiple times in regards to that. I am a veteran away on a tour of duty and on January 20th we had agreed to cancel my account and waive my cancelation fee instead of getting a refund for the months that I did not go to the gym (which I agreed on.) It’s now April 22 and I am still being charged monthly for my account which is absolutely ridiculous. So in conclusion this gym is not veteran friendly, the manger chooses to ignore emails and I will be taking crunch fitness to small claims court when I come back from my tour of duty. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional.

I LOVE this Crunch location. I signed up during the lockdown for a special they were running and was able to try personal training when the gym was still closed to the public. The one on one sessions were great and when the gym finally opened to everyone things only got better.For starters, this is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to & I frequently like to try out new gyms. I haven’t yet found any spot that even comes close to how clean and well maintained Crunch Clifton is.Second, the staff is outstanding. They all work diligently to ensure that the member experience is positive and enjoyable for everyone. They’re friendly when I come in, attentive if I have questions and always seem to be happy to be there. Aaron, the manager, is especially wonderful as he is always asking how I’m doing, how my training sessions are going, inviting people to try classes and seeing if there’s anything he can do to make the Crunch experience better. He gets involved in the HIIT classes and is friendly with several, probably most, of the members at Crunch Clifton. He is transparent about membership charges and always try’s to help people as best he can if there is a problem. Managing the place can’t be easy, but Aaron truly puts his all into his job. You can just tell he cares about what he does.More specific to me, I’ve found value in continuing personal training sessions with Heather. She is amazing at what she does, always pushing me further than I thought I could go while maintaining a kindness that allows me to feel comfortable in my discomfort. She’s motivating and organized and really tailors workouts to maximize the amount of time we have and focus on anything specific that I verbalize I’d like to improve. Results come slow, but I’ve seen them already and much of the credit goes to Heather.Lastly, the variety of classes and amenities that Crunch Clifton offers are several. It is WELL worth it to go for the higher tiered membership with them because the class offerings are outstanding and the amenities are the cherry on top. I made it a point to try as many different classes as I could when I first started and I found that they vary in style and skill level required, meaning that there’s something for everyone. And after a sweat drenched HIIT class or a relaxing yoga class, I love that I can wind down in the Wellness Dry Pod or work on sore muscles on the Hydro Massage.Crunch Clifton truly offers a significantly high value to your health and fitness journey. To anyone considering joining, I sincerely believe it’ll be worth it.

Charged me for a year straight after I toldThem to cancel my membership after my commitment was done. Tried to make me go into the club to sign paper work to cancel? This place is ludicrous, Don’t go to this gym it’s crowded 24/7, they play loud obnoxious music to cater to the group classes. Overall terrible experience. Don’t waste your time.

Less crowded in the mornings, however you get the younger crowd who are more focused at looking at themselves in the mirrors. They do have a large selection of equipment to hit all muscle groups.

First things first, I have to give 4 stars instead of a perfect 5 because one thing really threw me off about this gym - there have been times when I’ve arrived RIGHT ON TIME for class and have been turned away when I was right there at the door, and it seemed like one of the associates (a female in particular) was all too eager to do this. That messes with members’ goals and it’s really disappointing, especially when they’re not even late for the class. I’ve been to 12 of the other Crunch locations in the area because I’m a huge fitness fan and I don’t know of a single other location that does this. If I was late, I’d understand, but being right on time or a minute early for the class and getting turned away isn’t okay by any means, especially when I’ve noticed other members getting let in to classes 2 or 3 minutes after they’ve already started by associates, when I was in there. There needs to be more consideration of all members, please fix this. Otherwise, it’s a great gym with nearly all the weights, machines, and classes you might need. I love the fact that they offer Zumba, yoga, and a variety of innovative and fresh classes that you might not find anywhere else and they keep a packed schedule so there’s something for everyone. The gym opens earlier and closes later than almost all gyms (including other Crunch locations) in northern and central NJ, so that’s a huge plus! They seem to have knocked everything out of the park and scored a home run, including their sanitation and hygiene procedures, so they take care of their members’ health for the utmost part.

They use bait and switch tactics in order to trap you into their contracts. They tell you its only a one year contract . They hide the fact that it automatically renews and you have to come in person on the renewal day in order to cancel otherwise they automatically renew the co tract or charge you a cancelation fee. The management hides behind the contract even though they dont explain the autorenew when they sign you up. Stay away from this fraudulent institution

I made a 1 year contract with the company and when it expired I went to cancel my membership. The manager Aaron lied and told me they extended my year membership due to covid but it is obviously a lie otherwise the company would have sent a letter or a new contract to sign. Then the man tells me I need to pay a cancelation fee of 85 dollars or I can wait till April to have my membership expire. I explain that this is false and to take the money if that is what will solve the problem. He then tells me that he will waive the fee of 85 dollars to be kind. These are just manipulation tactics to take more money out of people and to keep them from leaving the company.

Compared to other crunch locations Ive been to, this location has more variety of equipment Ive been looking to use. Clifton will be my new gym, the employees also walk around and sanitize everything which is a big plus...not all individuals clean after they use.

Customer Service is always on a high level. Overall environment is always welcoming, pleasant, clean and uplifting. Every associate is always smiling at you. This gym practices shady/predatory business practices. You may feel it is fine as you attend, but the moment you attempt to cancel your membership, you turn into a mark where they try to squeeze as much money as possible out of your poor existence. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere, and if you are unfortunately already a Crunch member, you better start collecting all the receipts/evidence you can when you try to cancel. Otherwise, youll find a $100+ fee on your credit card a year later, that they will flat out refuse to give back for whatever reason they can find.

My dad past away from covid 19 I had covid 19 so I had to cancel my membership it took me a month to recover I thought that it was going to be easy to go back into crunch but no it wasn’t so before entering are canceling your membership think twice

AVOID AT ALL COST! I agree with some of the previous posters that they have predatory accounting practices. After lockdowns they charged me even though I havent been going as Im an essential worker. after 2 months they sent my bill to collections! Than I called and said I will continue membership but dont charge me for the months I havent been going. They said they cant do that, so they would rather take a hundred and some dollars now than keep a customer for life. Id never set foot in that place, just think about how bad of a business is that. Non customer oriented businesses eventually always fail.

They lie when they sign you up and get you stuck in an eternal conract that automatically renews. They dont explain that when they sign you up. This is a terrible way to do business . The people are rude to you when you attempt to cancel as well as are condescending

When my girlfriend and I went to enroll at crunch fitness the staff was very helpful they explained to us the different memberships and which ones that will be in our best interest. Even though they do not open until January they are having great deals, and the lay of how the gym looks awesome. Man we cant wait to crunch the weights.

Crunch is now open, place looks amazing. When I went inside, it felt alive and welcoming. Lots of different groups doing fun activities. The staff seems real professional and nice. Many different areas and rooms to choose from to keep me motivated. A whole section was dedicated to serious weight lifting machines, but plenty of separate areas for beginners. The best part was how inexpensive it was to join, Im just skipping Starbucks one day a week.

Clean welcoming gym. Only thing I do not like are the HIIT classes that take place in the middle of the gym during peak hours. They are also very loud and distracting. Other then that this is a great and welcoming place to workout.

Kept charging me 8 months after canceling my subscription. I’ve emailed their club director Aaron Gonzalez about the cancellation and they assured me that it was canceled. Every month I would email them about why I was still getting charged and they claimed they were just old charges that just went through. Avoid this place they will take your money.

Based on my experience at crunch fitness, I will never recommend the facility to anyone. There had been many times I felt unwelcome, judged, excluded and even body shamed by staff and management. For a gym that prides itself on being a “No Judgment zone” and having “inclusivity” the Clifton location is FAR from the standards set by corporate. My most recent negative experience was with one of the staff members, young blonde lady, who proceeded to pull out her phone with intent to record me. As I over heard her state, “I’m recording this as a gym Failure” to her colleague. This incident is one of many that is beyond unprofessional and is a breach of privacy. This is not what I joined a gym for, to be ridiculed by staff and Management. I am entirely disappointed and disgusted by the treatment I have received here.

A great, clean gym with an amazing staff. After regularly coming here for few weeks the staff started to get to know me as well as my gym routine. They quickly and conveniently sign me and always set up the red light therapy room once I walk in the door (if it isn’t being used). I used to never be a gym go-er, but after a few PT sessions with Danny, I got down a fitness and nutrition routine I followed for a year which gave me great results. Even on days I don’t have any PT sessions planned with Danny, he takes the time to check up with me to make sure I’m always improving.On my “off days” (not weight lifting), I occasionally take their HIIT classes, which is a great way to get in my cardio. I’m very introverted so I don’t really talk to anyone in each class and just focus on the exercises, but I always feel welcome in each class. To top that off, Gibbs always makes sure I push myself each HIIT class so I’m always challenging myself to do better.I’ve been coming here for a year and glad I chose this gym to be my first gym I invested in. Keep up the great work Clifton Crunch 🙌

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE!!!The employees are very unprofessional and rude, I do not recommend this place at all. I tried to switch because the place is so small, the machines are really bad and the staff was not helpful at all.

Place is very clean. The staff not to friendly well at least the person that was a the front desk the time I was there as a guess. Lady was trying to force me to take a picture even after I firmly refused. I was only a guess I did not have a member ship there I was just trying out. After trying went back the next week to sign up my husband insisted to go to this place. During the sign up process according to them there was no promotion or sign up deal going on at the moment and days prior to signing up my husband saw a promotion that there were advertising no expiration date on the add but according to them it was expired. In other words my personal opinion i think they lied to get guess. Finally place is clean good location but people that work there are not very pleasant.

This gym is great space not that many people but jeez the amount of noise and space the classes take up here is rediculous. i am running on the treadmill I cannot hear the music in my headphones because that classes is so loud. I made sure to get the tread as far away as possible.After a year of going, it has toned down a bit but running the classes while doing my workout is insufferable. Music is still loud.Also maybe I just hit the prime times but there are just to many people here to do my workouts. I have to constantly rearrange my plan because someone is working on one of the two squat racks there.

Decent spacious Gym for the price but when you compare the equipment with the Crunch from Wayne NJ and the Crunch in Fair Lawn NJ, you will see that it lacks many machines .. They focused more in making plenty of space for HIIT cardio.. So if you work out is more based in HIIT cardio, then this is the place for you, But if you look for a good variety of free weights and Machines with different muscle targets, then this is not the gym for you..
