I love the facility and the instructors. The schedule of classes offered is great too. However, they need a parking lot for members. Paying for parking is adding up.
One of the nicest cleanest and well-run YMCAs Ive ever visited. Great equipment and excellent classes with a basketball and top of the line weight room. My only complaint is the street parking. Since theres no included parking you have to pay for parking with each workout. However its certainly worth it, and Id highly recommend this Y
I really like this location- probably my favorite out of all of them. But you guys REALLY need a parking lot, even if its just for members. I drove all the way there for a fitness class and realized I didnt bring my wallet. (I got ready in a hurry and honestly, who thinks to bring a wallet to a fitness class). It was early, and my half asleep mind had forgotten all about the parking situation. I had my phone but there is no way to use Apple Pay for a parking lot. Super frustrating because at that point, I just had to go home and miss the class. All the other YMCA locations have their own parking lots. Other than that, very clean facility with nice equipment.
Firstly, the staff that I met: Courtney (reception) and Stan (pool) are excellent in their roles. Warm, welcoming and efficient. Very professional. The facilities are above average, with plenty of up-to-date equipment, free weights and immaculately clean training spaces. Sanitizing spray bottles and paper toweling are everywhere, within reach of most machines. The mens locker room was also spacious. The 25yard, 81°F saline lap pool felt like swimming in the South Pacific on a calm day.Located about a 15min walk from the Ohio River Banks area and downtown Cincinnati. Ill definitely return here for future workouts.
Looks nice the people working here and the so called members harass me every time I come and they had over 20 employees in last couple of months something fishy . Have evidence of being harassed too. Also am KING OF THE COURT! Need a better gym with normal athletes!
The best YMCA in all of Southwestern Ohio. Saline saltwater pool, running track, basketball court, multiple workout facilities. Friendly and helpful staff.
It is open and it is SAFE! Only 4 or 6 in the pool. Air is filtered and changed by the HOUR! Thaaaank you, Y!!
The people make this place what it is. This gym attracts friendly folk who respect the facility and each other. All ages just trying to have a good clean workout. Staff is chill.
Great place to workout. Staff is great!!
The facility is clean and taking fairly good measures to protect staff and patronds from the spread of Covid. The hours are still abridged for Covid; the inconvenience feels unjustified at this point. There is no longer a curfew, and the staff does not appear to use the extra time for Covid precautions.
Great gym with a great community
Its nicer than I imagined everyone is so friendly and welcoming im super happy
Horrible billing experience. I had a credit card stolen I had to cancel. I called to update my payment information and the employee I said I had to come in to do it. I ask the front desk attendant when I arrive to update my payment and they told me they were busy and to come back later. Then my inactive credit card gets charged and they apply a $20 returned payment fee. And come to find out I could actually update my payment information online. Their employees are continuously misinformed and have a lack of knowledge. I was also told that when my membership was suspended during Coronavirus that I’d be notified when it was activated again. The notification didn’t occur and I was automatically being charged again. You can’t trust anything the employees say and this YMCA is way too overpriced to begin with. They won’t even open up the basketball courts. I’m getting little to no value from this place
The best. Simply.
.This is my spot convenient downtown location all services are back to normal.9 August, 2021
Disrespectful to vets. Charging a seriously high price to veterans and anyone who has a military background for services.
I used to go to this gym on a regular basis. The gym itself is great. Plenty of free weights, assisted machines, a cardio section, lots of fun group exercise classes. The staff is always friendly and super upbeat! The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star review... little to no convenient parking! The gym used to have access to the lot across the street but that changed about 1 year ago. There are plenty of pay to park lots around the gym, but who wants to pay to park every time they go to the gym? I would recommend this gym to anyone living downtown within walking or riding distance.
Ill be honest, when I moved downtown I wasnt expecting much out of a downtown YMCA and I was pleasantly surprised. They have multiple floors with all of the equipment that you could need and more. Machines, free weights, yoga room, punching bags, pool, sauna and steam room, basketball, you name it. Its always very clean and well-maintained, I really dont think you can beat it.
The staff here are always helpful and understanding. I have had issues regarding my membership through the greater Columbus area but they always take care of me. The equipment is just as amazing as the staff there. A small lap pool in the lower level with two great locker rooms. They have a level of cardio equipment with everything from stair climbers to stationary bikes. Multiple studios are available outside of classes and two areas of strength training. One room of free weights and another of wire assisted equipment . Great place to fulfill all your workout needs.
This newly renovated facility is fresh & modern. I love using the sauna inside the women’s locker room (they have a men’s one on their side, too). The salt water pool is awesome and every yoga class I’ve taken has been professional, warm and met me where I was at.I love the lobby with the fireplace and modern furnishings. The staff is always cheery and helpful.I absolutely love having this place in our neighborhood!
Super clean, friendly staff, towel service, amazing sauna and steam rooms, excellent salt pool and modern equipment. Best one I have visited.
I come here at least 3-4 days a week. The treadmills have internet and cable TV. Bring your ear buds. Weights, gym, sauna, locker room and lap pool. Great place to meet like minded individuals focused on their health.
Everything a gym should have to offer and more. Lots of space, friendly staff, private showers, towels ect.. They recently installed some new cardio equipment, solid move.
Nice place. Carpeted locker rooms. Sauna and steam rooms are located in the locker rooms and are segregated by gender. Individual showers. Great lap pool. This is a very nice facility.
I love this YMCA. I love that it is renovated, the locker rooms are clean, everything is updated. They have men and womens sauna and steam room in the locker rooms which is very nice. There are only 3 lanes in the pool and it is quite small but I still like it and you can always share a lane. The staff is very nice and helpful and make you feel welcomed. The people are also very nice and polite.
Very nice facilities, Id go more regularly if it were closer to me.
Love the Y! The renovated space is huge and nicely finished, with all of the equipment you could want. The free weight room is definitely small, but throughout the rest of the gym you have plenty of room to move about and get your workout in.
Such a great place to work out. I love the staff, they are all so friendly and keep me wanting to be better!
Such a good healthy ❤️💙 feeling. Warm Friendly Staff
This place is totally Amazing! The staff is extremely helpful, the facility is top notch, and they have Free towels to use there! I seriously cant say enough good things about this gym. Great Job Guys!
Its very busy between 4 and 6 of course but plenty of empty machines. Staff is nice. Pool still unheated at 70 degrees. Loads of classes. Youngish crowd. Few older women, but they did nice remodel. I used to belong in 1979.
Old cool building, updated equipment, nice staff, rent-able lockers, very clean, has Spinning classes.
Great location. Great equipment. Staff is super friendly. No parking but if youre willing to walk 2 minutes you can usually find free spots.
Great facility with brand new equipment. Enjoy the workouts in the morning before work or use the pool to really get my heart pumping. Friendly and helpful staff.
The staff here is unbelievably friendly and helpful. This is by far the best quality of Central Park YMCA. The facility itself is very neat and up to date. Great equipment with several ways to meet your exercising needs. I would recommend this gym to anyone who is even remotely interested in fitness.
Love my Y. The morning crew during the week are the best people to interact with so early in the morning. Facility is nice, well taken care of for the most part. Im only hoping they expand the weight room soon, now that membership has increased.
Theres a lot to like about the YMCA and theres also a lot to like about this facility in particular. The biggest part of it is the restorative work thats been done on an old iconic building. It doesnt look like a traditional gym, the people that designed the place struck a nice balance of creating a classic modern vibe while also putting in an abundance of first rate exercise machines. The lengthy cardio, stretching, low impact, and exercise machine room near the entrance faces Central Parkway, offering stellar views, while also separating you from the city.Theres also a nice and under utilized lounge area with nice leather seating. A good place to do a bit of work or to make some end of the day phone calls. The Y offers an exceptional value. If it werent a non-profit memberships would likely be around $100, so its also a gym for everyone. Thats the good part. Now, the other part. Although, they have their own connected parking lot they dont offer a membership which includes parking. The cost of parking is $5 for a couple of hours. If youre going in three or four days a week, well, its no longer a stellar value. The place is largely unsupervised. The mens locker room, the sauna and steam room needs to be upgraded. Important services, that could increase their revenue, like massage therapy and personal training arent really featured. The place closes at 9P! The place closes at 9P on week days. Nobody should be rushing to the gym after getting out of work at 6Por 6:30. Open at 6A and stay open until 10P. Members should be able to enjoy their membership.
I love this place - great class schedule and CLEAN facilities!
Be very careful because of theft issues. They need more benches in the mens locker room . . . and more diverse music in the workout areas. The staff is super friendly.
Fresh and renovated space. Lots of machines and free weights. As every other YMCA, it does get packed during the normal after-work hours.
Love the Otr y and all their fab classes!
Fantastic facility...very clean, great Staff.
Nice people. But have to pay to park car.
Wonderful Y - clean fresh and sparkly. Love the womens locker room especially. Only problem is having to pay for parking during the day.
Great place to work out and very clean!
Great atmosphere and great place to work out
40 mil dollar renovation, Olympic lifting allowed, no douche bags, easily my favorite gym in the city
Up to date equipment, including stair climber. Cooled cycling room, several racquetball courts and gym with basketball hoops and would be good for volleyball also. Their running track is suspended above the gym and the guard rail is not that high. Makes a tall guy like me nervous! I cannot give 5 stars because pool was closed unexpectedly due to no lifeguard. I was told a lifeguard would arrive by 5 pm and when I left at 6 pm there was still no lifeguard. Why cant they post signs to swim at your own risk like other pools do?
Nice friendly staff. Clean atmosphere. Lots of space to workout. Convenient location.
Staff is always pleasant. Nice gym; could use some more equipment.
Very nice YMCA with great classes (which are included in membership)!
This place looks great after the renovations! No complaints, a perfect place to workout. Very conveniently located as well.
Great place to work out. Nice facility. Everything is new and well maintained.
Wish there was a free parking option for members and child watch. Zumba was great!
This renovation left us with a rather swanky YMCA. Spacious. Modern. Clean. Extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend.
People working help tap into wifi there, life guard always nice, let him know if you need pool floats for exercise.
The Y is a top-notch facility with excellent customer service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new gym.
Its clean and nice staff
New gym good space . Good steam dry sauna . Towel service. Parking a lil tricky. Doesnt seem to be enuf shower box during peak hrs . Parking across street elm and parkway free after 4
Excellent gym. Very clean and maintained.
Nice gym. Lots of different machines
Great workout and piece of mind
What an amazing Y! Love the renovations and the Zumba classes are great!
I love the remodeling theyve done, I only wish there were more space for a bigger pool.
Great pool. Friendly staff. Gotta love the Y Away program!
Several floors of work out bliss. 2 cardio floors. Nice equipment.
Its a wonderful place to be best place in over-the-rhine
The newly renovated YMCA is beautiful! The facilities are too notch and they staff are very helpful!
The staff here are super friendly and I love the classes offered, especially boot camp!
Newly renovated, super friendly staff, tons of group fitness classes, and three floors of spacious and modern workout facilities
Newly renovated gym in the heart of the city. This YMCA offers easy access for nearby residents in OTR/CBD while also getting a mix of downtown workers from other parts of the city. Very diverse mix of users that take advantage of these new facilities. The friendly staff keeps it very clean and welcoming.3-lane saltwater lap pool in the basement. Full basketball court with suspended running track on the upper levels. Sauna and steam rooms. Top of the line free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. A variety of classes including yoga and spinning.
A newly renovated YMCA in a historic building with all the amenities of a private club. The parking is a little bit of a hassle - you need to park in a lot or on the street - it is difficult to find free parking here, but parking will cost you a few dollars for 2 hours. The facility offers all that anyone would want as far as machines, free weights, cardio equipment, TRX, a gymnasium for basketball, indoor track, and all sorts of workout classes, including yoga, cross training, and cardio classes. The salt water 25m pool is awesome with 3 lanes. The locker rooms have carpeting, sauna, steam room, and TVs with your favorite sporting events. This is a must for downtown Cincinnati inhabitants and workforce!!
The place is amazing. Love all the upgrades
Love coming in, great space and amenities, feels great to workout in peace.
Amazing gym amazing deal so clean and great staff!!
Home of my mother it a great place to live.
I came to use the pool and no lifeguard showed up. 30 minutes later I had to drive to Blue Ash. The people were friendly.
Unfortunately, my recent membership at the Elm Street YMCA left me very dissatisfied with the pool facilities and customer service. On May 18th, I paid $83.46 to join the YMCA at Elm and Central Parkway. I looked forward to your “saline” pool because I understood that it had health benefits. After swimming in your pool for only seven days my bright, blue, $80 bathing suit turned some shade of grey and the elastic is gone. Another swimmer said her black suit had faded dramatically, too. Then, I learned that the water also, contained chlorine in high concentrations. It not only fades suits, dries hair and skin; but, inflames the linings of the respiratory system and can provoke asthma. This concerns me because I use a maintenance inhaler.I mentioned the problem to a very, disinterested woman behind the check-in desk, who said to talk to the lifeguard. After she brushed me off, I spoke to a man in the member services office. Then, I talked to the lifeguard, who said “not to pass the buck,” but talk to someone in the front. He checked the chlorine at 5 ppm and said levels between 1 and 2 were normal. He texted the pool services manager/director and; surprise, the same woman from the desk came to the pool. I thought she could have shown some concern earlier since, she is responsible. Three of the seven days I swam, the pool door was locked. Not only I but, other swimmers had to walk around and down. One especially angry member, who had double hip replacement, could be heard all the way to the front lobby. I had to smile at that because she was hard to ignore. I think she got someone to unlock the door. On Sunday, a lifeguard (who apparently had the only key?) failed to show and the pool opened late. The last time I swam there in the afternoon, the pool was forced to close early because the lifeguard (same one?) again failed to report to work. So we all had to leave.Initially, I tried to gain an understanding of the problem by talking with the staff. When, I asked if chlorine was added automatically or if the levels could be adjusted; no one knew. All the conversations with staff were evasive. No one showed any awareness that a problem exists. As far as when this might be resolved, staff would not give me an answer. Then, I might expect it to be done. This is extremely poor customer service when the pool does not operate during posted hours. I think because of the high levels of chlorine, and lack of commitment to safe operations –locked doors and missing lifeguards, that the pool is unsafe. It should be closed until these issues are corrected.
Excellent facilities and super friendly staff
Nice pool note its adult only
Great staff, the facilities are well kept.
Youll have to visit for yourself. Great facility!
The best Y in Cincinnati! The staff are incredible
Way new, pretty nice. Do the yoga
Clean, good people, close to downtown, heated pool, sauna, steam room, free coffee.
Its so welcoming and friendly
I love the YMCA because it help me with mind body
Recently renovated and beautiful on the inside. Staff is very friendly too!
Friendly, clean, well provided for. Was visiting from out of town, and the staff were very helpful
