It was my first time getting my acrylics done here. The workers are truly meticulous to detail. My nail tech, Tony, really made sure the rhinestones were set and that it matched the picture I told them to use as a reference. They also specifically ask what shape you want for your nails on both your feet and hands. They were also very fast in the process of getting my hands and feet done. Amazing work, well worth the price.

I had a very ok experience. I went for a basic manicure and pedicure. I felt like my tech did a very rushed job. I understand that it was a basic mani-pedi but the whole thing just felt very hurried. It wasnt relaxing. The nail polish is applied very unevenly around the cuticle. Overall, the people are sweet but there was no attention to detail and that put me off.

One of the best pedicures Ive ever received, worth every penny for the time and detail that was spent! I did the deluxe spa Pedi and got a full set as well.

They are took the absolute best care of me -- I just moved here and have been hopping around different nail salons to find the one. Thrilled to have finally found it at here! The team is so sweet and accommodating and are definitely coming back!!.

Great place for nails. I called and they immediately got me in for an appointment. The staff are very friendly and make good conversation with their customers. My tech gave me a French manicure and did a fantastic job.

The prices are not as nice as they may seem. I wanted an acrylic fill, which costs $25 according to the menu. When I went in to get this done, they charged me extra to take off the current polish I had on and tried to charge me again to file my nails shorter since they had grown out. It left a bad taste in my mouth because they do not mention these pretty necessary charges on their menu. It felt very manipulative. At the end of it all, it cost the same amount as anywhere else, so I cant be too upset. However, I specifically went to this place because their prices SEEMED so great. The service I received ended up quit pretty though! Overall, 3/5 stars.

Let me tell you that it was the best nail spot ever! I got a nice girl to do my nails and they turned out great. My nail tech was so understanding & lovely & made my vision come to life. Amazing job!

I love my nails. I showed my inspiration for this gel-x set. She took extra time to explain everything she did during the process and was extremely precise.

He ripped my nails off like they weren’t attached to me. I kept saying ow and I snatched my hand away two times. My nail beds are gonna hate me after this set! They don’t have design stickers, just these sequin like mini plastics in different shapes. They couldn’t do the design I wanted so I ended up just doing my regular French tips and somehow those managed to not even come out as good as they should. I think my manicure was having an off day but now I can’t wait till these grow out. Just gonna do press on‘s from now on. They last like 2 weeks and there is more options for designs. Cheaper as well.

The atmosphere was one of friendship and customer satisfaction. My tech did a great job of checking in with each customer to make sure they were happy with the Tech and the job they were doing.

My girlfriend went here twice, once to get acrylic nails applied for the first time and the second time to get them removed. The first time was not terrible, the manicurist guy was not very nice, but she was happy with the results.The second time, however, the removal job was horrible and the service was unacceptable, compelling me to write this review. Instead of soaking in acetone, the manicurist immediately started prying the acrylics off. They did not even ask how she wanted the nails removed, and said that this was their normal procedure when she asked if it is supposed to hurt this much. After the torturous ordeal which damaged her nails, the manager of the place was rude, denying any refund, and walked away from the complaint.Needless to say, my girlfriends day was ruined as was her first experience trying on acrylics.tldr: The nail removal service is terrible, and the manager is very rude and unapologetic.

I showed the nail tech various photos of the kind of nails I wanted and proceeded to the complete opposite. He would then get frustrated when he couldn’t get the design and would blame me for the choice in nails even though I asked for his recommendation. If they are unable to do certain designs they should say so upfront and I still had to pay 65 dollars for the full set. I also took my mother along and the lady that took care of her was rude and had a low temper. Not sure if it was an off day for them but I do not recommend this place.

I think I got a new nail tech, first she pried off my outgrown gel nails saying they were too old to fill (three weeks only) then she took forever to give me a new set which she left full of air bubbles! And charged me $65

The space is really pleasant and they have A LOT of colors to choose from. I had a bad experience at one of the bigger nail salons in town. Im glad Ive found this place.

My experience here was very dissatisfying. There are no posted prices and I got charged $20 for a single color of regular polish, no gel. I thought that was a bit much but figured they must do a nice job here and COVIDs probably been rough, so I didnt think that much about it. However my nails were done carelessly. Some of the polish didnt even reach the ends and the coats were splotchy, looked like I did it myself in my bathroom. I am okay paying $20 for a professional quality service, but this service was not good at all. I went back in once I saw my nails in the full sunlight and the nail artist added some polish to some of the ends, again in a rush. It looks obvious that it was redone. Overall disappointed. I tried to communicate to the salon that the nails did not look nice and that they should be more careful in the future, but there was a language barrier so Im not sure how much they understood. They didnt seem concerned that I left upset.

My daughter and several friends come here and have pleasant experiences. Amazing attention to detail. My new place forever. 10/10 recommend!

My nails always look so perfect, the prices are good, and there’s rarely a wait time!

I called ahead to make an appointment to get my nails removed and the woman I spoke with told me that I did not need an appointment and to just come in before they closed. I drove all the way there and walked in only for the man next to the front desk to tell me “we’re full.” When I explained to him that I spoke with someone over the phone who told me that I did not need an appointment and that as long as I came in before they closed I would be helped he just repeated himself and said “we’re full we’re full“ and turned away. Any good salon with customer service skills would have explained to me that they were at full capacity and maybe offer to make an appointment for me to ensure that that wouldn’t happen or at least apologize for the employee telling me the wrong thing and for inconveniencing me, but this man was extremely rude and dismissive and treated me like I was a bother rather than a customer. No explanation, very dismissive, very rude, and no communication between employees. I will definitely be taking us up with management and I will not be stepping foot in this nail spa again. I see now why the ratings are so low.

This is a decent nail salon. I’ve been here a few times. However if I could suggest one thing: Please stop talking about & making fun of people who are getting serviced. It’s very rude and it makes people uncomfortable. It’s unfair to be serviced here and have to deal with the unnecessary scrutiny.

My nail tech was super thorough and detailed on my pedicure. Its so hard to find salons that can manage a high-volume nail business without skimping on the work quality.

I was pleased with my first visit. 2nd & last visit, I ended up allowing a different person to do my fill ins & they did not do a good Job. Low quality, over rated, overpriced, and unprofessional.I visited this nail studio on three occasions in March 2021:1. On the first occasion I asked for a mani and no chip and upgraded to a acrylic set in which I was told I couldn’t get a mani with the set even if I paid for it. My nails were left misshapen and the acrylics were set too high. (Service was provided by the male technician next to the register).2. Returned the next week to get a color change during which I saw someone get refused service ahead of me even though she had an appointment! This time a female technician said I needed a fill in (even thought it had only been a week) and questioned who shaped my nails as she proceeded to correct the shape.3. Returned to remove the acrylics during which an obviously new technician was struggling to remove them. The woman who had assisted me on my previous visit noticed the current technician was struggling and instead of helping, she laughed at the technician, gave her a quick pointer, and went back to her cellphone, leaving the technician hanging, trying to figure out what to do with my nails. Once the nails were finally removed, my nail bed was left horribly damaged with a bad cracked polish job to cover it up.4. I initially came to this place in 2017 based on a recommendation and the service has only gone downhill since then. I only returned because my favorite nail salon closed due to covid. I would highly encourage people to spend their money elsewhere.

The limited of color polish was those not getting no chip was bad. One customer had dried under the lamp, and she was done. The worker who did her nails and feet told her when she was done she had to put oil on her own feet. I have never been to a nail spa where I told to do that myself. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. Bad bad and bad customer service and this was after she had TIPPED the worker.

DO NOT COME HERE. Terrible service and quality. They PRIED off my acrylic nails without asking, leaving my nail beds extremely damaged. When I complained, they were extremely dismissive and kept telling me this was the “normal” procedure, when it certain is not! All nail salons should be soaking the nails before they start taking them off. It’s extremely harmful for the nails to start using a knife to peel off the fake nail. I asked politely for a refund and they were so rude to me, walked away before I could even finish my sentence! The cleanliness is also very bad, which is concerning during a pandemic. I hope that I’m able to prevent future customers from making the same mistake that I did. Take your money elsewhere!

Don’t bother making an appointment they don’t honor them. You will be waiting 30 minutes to an hour no matter what.

Went in on a Saturday to get acrylics done everything was fine. I came in today the following Friday after I got them done and I had to wait an hour to get my ONE nail fixed. Not only did I have to wait but the lady put on the wrong color, didn’t even bother fixing the shape and made me pay $5 even after only a couple days of coming in to get them done. They just lost a customer! You can see in the picture the difference in color in the pinky.

The salon is filthy. I was seated at the table for manicure and there were left over nail clippings.

Friendly and great service. They have so many gel colors. My only complaint is that it’s pretty expensive. Like $10 more than average for manicure and gel pedicure. But they did a fantastic job and i’ll definitely be back

If you want crooked and badly shaped acrylics, then you’ve found your place. Will not be coming here again.

I had to let the nail tech to cut my toe nails because all he did was file them down, then he did not exfoliate my foot heel it still feels dry this the second time I came in due to its close to work and running there during lunch is a plus but I am not in the business in throwing my money on bad service. No bueno

The family owned business and talented nail technicians here are friendly and warm as they sculpt your nails to a masterpiece. You cant go wrong here. I was so pleasantly happy to see how they respect their appointment times not double booking and always greeting all their customers with a smile and a bottle of water. Im definitely coming back here from now on. Happy I tried something new.

This was my first time coming here and its closer than my normal go to. I love little hole in the wall spots because most of the time their better than others and this places is one of them. My experience overall was great the wait wasnt that bad for a Friday.

Ive been to this place twice since its right on campus at UIC (Im a student).1. Prices are overpriced for the quality of products.2. They cheat UIC students into coming back by messing up nails when they are renting a space from the university.3. Plenty of my friends refuse to go here because of how students are cheated.4. Pedicure is nice and I havent had an issue.5. DO NOT get your nails done here if you want acrylic/gel enhancements done. Its only been a week (photo provided) and it looks like I need a fill in already because the man who did my nails intentionally applied the powder high up from my natural nails, leaving a gap. Not to mention he knicked my skin 3x on 3 different nails and I was bleeding. I will never go back here for a full set.

I am so glad I found a great nail place closer to where I live! I moved to Chicago last year and have been searching for a place closer to home and I found it! Cute shop and such a good job on my pedicure!! I like that they have disposable linings! They take extra precautions in being clean! I will definitely be back and recommend!

The facility is very professional, clean, organized, and calming. I was recommended to come here and I would recommend this place to other people too. They accept walk-ins, which is super convenient but also take appointments. I came around 3-5pm on a Tuesday and it is a good time to walk in because it isnt too busy. I was taken right away and he got to work. I got the powder dip manicure and a spa pedicure. It took around an hour and a half. They work very fast and are polite. I can tell they know what they are doing and they do their craft well. There is street parking or a garage nearby. I am definitely coming back here.

The only place Ill get my nails done in Chicago! Ive had gel nails with design done 3 times here by different artists and Im always obsessed with the result. My nails will last 2+ months before they get slightly ratchet, but at that point I remove the remaining gel myself. Such great deals and high quality service.

If you call ahead right before you leave, don’t trust them when they say they can fit you in. Sat for an hour waiting just for an appointment to show up right when I thought I was next. Had to leave. Only got three stars because the other peoples nails looked pretty good, so I don’t think the quality is an issue

This place is a hit or miss depending on who you get. The one (and I believe only) man who works there is rude ALL THE TIME. I called today to make an appointment to fix one nail that broke and he told me no need just come in any time. I show up in an hour and he then tells me Ill have to wait an hour. So why not take the appointment??? By the time I walked in I have already paid for the parking and took time off my day to come in. Baffled to say the least.Ladies are not bad, but also can be a hit or miss, I only go there because of the convenience. Place is clean and nice, location is great, such a shame they have poor customer service half the time, totally ruins the experience.

I’m a regular here, but they recently changed owner’s and it’s been going down hill since. Techs are very rude, was treating my mom to get her nails done and one of the techs snatched the color option thing straight from her hand. The owner was taking care of me, and I made a comment letting her know that wasn’t ok she apologized and said “I’m sorry I told her to do that” like that was suppose to make things better? I’ll take the drive somewhere else next time.

Exceptionally angered and sad with my experience at the Maxwell Nail Spa. Even though they do a great job with nails - their habit of cheating clients gives me no choice than to give them one start.Let me preface with saying that Im a amateur nail tech myself - I am familiar with the application of gel, acrylic, etc and can use these techniques on myself. However, occasionally I still go to the nail salon due to ease/quickness.Maxwell Nail Spa claims that they offer both gel and acrylic nail extensions. For those that do not know - these are extremely different techniques used to build fake/longer nails. Acrylics are the classic method - this uses the combination of a power and liquid which is then built upon the nail. Builders gel (different from gel nail polish) is a very thick gel which is built on the nail - the main difference is this gel will not harden without an LED/UV light source. On the other hand, acrylics dry by themselves in a few minutes.I have heard stories of nail salons exploiting their customers lack of knowledge and using acrylic mediums (which are cheaper and easier to apply) while claiming that they are gel and charging more. I never thought this would occur to me.When I got to Maxwell Nail Spa, I was shocked to find that my nail tech simply pulled out a bottle of acrylic (conveniently marked gel with marker) and attempted to use this instead of real gel. Once again, I was able to tell the difference because acrylic is a power and real gel is a thick gel medium. When I asked the nail tech about this she refused the answer and proceeded to build my nails with acrylic.Lets not forget that they charge more for gel nails (I think $5-10 more) yet they are applying literally the exact same produce as the cheaper acrylic nails - there is absolutely no difference.This shocking experience, along with the general rudeness of the workers and lack of transparency with prices give me no choice than to give this nail salon 1 star - will not visit again.

I was with a friend and we decided to try this place out since we were having dinner in a few at a restaurant across the street. They have a large selection of colors (no chip) which was great. I was only getting a no-chip Mani while my friend was getting a full set. My nails were done quickly, including the soak-off of the no-chip I already had on my nail, but my friend waited a whole hour with her nails soaking in a bowl. They saw maybe like 5 other clients while she sat there waiting, moving her around from one chair to another. Its such a shame because while Im really satisfied with how my nails were done, I cant believe we spent two hours just waiting for my friend to have her nails finished. In the end my friend opted for just a regular no-chip mani as our dinner reservation was coming up, and her service provider, Danny, was incredibly rude to top it all off. I pointed out a small protrusion from my friends nail just as a passing comment, and he raised his voice at me telling me not to touch it and saying that he knew the protrusion was there and he would take it off (he never did). Such a shame. We will not be back here again.Update: its been a week since my no-chip manicure at Maxwell, and already three of my nails are chipping. I should go in for a refund to be honest, but Ill take solace in tell you all NOT to go here. Save yourself the time and money and for somewhere else!!

Woman in chare was an angry person. She forgot or chose not to do a complete pedi. She put the oil on my toenails before she remembered that she had not scribed the dead skin on the bottom of my feet. On my last visit they rudely pulled my person from my nails because she was requested by another customer. This time they didnt do that. Thank you much. My nails look great. I hope they last. I want to be a long time customer.

Wow. How do I go from 5 stars to one ?? My first experience was great but it truly depends on who you have. This woman would slap my hand to move it when it wasn’t in the way. Acted annoyed with me the entire time and then when the dip looked NOTHING like the model nail and I was upset she offered to charge more to redo or add NO CHIP on top of it. Completely disappointed . Also every time I go and ask for dip I NOW REALIe they’ve done dip, shellac, acrylic taking advantage of me not knowing

Best Pedicure Ive ever had! The massage chairs are amazing, and although its pretty basic inside, the shop was clean and quiet. The gentleman who did my pedi was professional and thorough, and my feet look great. The extras included in the deluxe pedi are absolutely worth the extra. And I was in and out in under an hour without feeling rushed. I will be using their services again.❤️

I really didnt like my experience here. Might not go back. First time here and I got funny looks from the staff. As if my money wasnt green. Rude, I had diamonds on my nails and he didnt want to take them off. I had to take them off myself! I asked to book a appointment for my daughter to get her nails done and pay upfront. He said no. But another lady made a appointment before me???? I wonder why he said no, then again I dont care. Like I said I may not go back.

Hi there,I went to get my nails done recently and got their no chip option and within 3 days my nails were chipped. Disappointed as I like the color and paid a fair bit so that it would last at least a week. Wont be returning.

Most unprofessional and unorganized place I’ve ever stepped foot in. I made an appointment at 1pm for a soak off and full set of acrylics. I waited for half an hour before I even got seated, and then I waited an extra 10 minutes before the lady even started to work on my nails. There were three walk ins during this time and they all got seated before me, the girl with an appointment! By the time my acrylics had been soaked off, I had been there for over an hour. I left without getting new acrylics or polish because god only knows how long that would’ve taken. I made an appointment specifically because I was on a time crunch. I’d rather drive the 90 minutes back to the suburbs every 3 weeks to go to my old nail guy! Beyond disappointing doesn’t even begin to explain it.

I wasted $60 at this place! The lady doing my nails told me that I couldn’t get regular polish with gems because they’ll fall off. Even though I’ve gotten that before and never had gems come off. She refused to do them with regular polish so I got the no chip polish. She told me I’m going to come back and complain if she does regular polish with gems. Then she told me to pay before she polishes my nails. I feel that was racially motivated. She also wouldn’t do a holo nail. I got them done October 20th and today’s the 29th. A nail is lifting and my polish is starting to chip.

I absolutely loved this place. May took care of me from pedi to fill in. My services were the classic pedi which . It included callous remover, scrub and lotion and most importantly I added wave gel nail paint. She was wonderful and didnt snip my toes.Next she did my nails. I got a fill cut, stiletto shape with gel polish. She was efficient and did the shape right.I pai by the time it was said and done.🌺

My bf and I were on vacation in Chicago last week and we both needed a pedicure and I needed my gels redone, so I made an appt at Maxwell Nail Spa. This place rules. First of all, it was cleaner and nicer than any Chicago nail shop I have ever been to. Also, their gel color selection is vast. The women who work there are kind and friendly. We had a nice chat while she did my nails, by the end of our mani-pedis (which were flawless) we were all laughing and having a great time. Its a great little find tucked away! All the stars!

The chairs are really nice, I’ll say that much. But what was set out to be a relaxing afternoon was absolutely to opposite. The guy doing my pedicure did not listen to my instructions of what I wanted for me service. The card machine doesn’t consistently work and their offer to accept payments over Venmo and Cash app are false because those accounts didn’t work when I tried to pay over them. The employee was very upset that these systems wouldn’t work for me. I offered him all the cash I had ($20) for the $30 pedicure but her wouldn’t take it. Basically, the guy spent more time yelling at me than doing my pedicure.Just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

My friend went to get gel nails done from this salon. When the lady working pulled out the material for the nails it was acrylic. My friend knows well how both types are applied and could tell they were not using the gel product. This was not a simple mistake as the acrylic bottle she took out said gel on it. They are charging people for the more expensive gel price but in actuality building acrylic nails.In response to the owner: I have been here a few times . The reason for my one star review was for what I explained above. You charged a customer for the gel price but didnt give them gel nails
