Was just fine. Received a pedicure and my technician was friendly and focused. Knocked off a star for cleanliness. Not a large salon, could feel cramped if every station was full.

Very professional. The no chip manicure I got lasted a month! Ill definitely be back. I want to try a regular manicure. Ok so one year later and I finally tried a pedicure. New location very cozy. This was the best pedicure Ive ever had! Both ladies are excellent!

California Nails does a good job with the service that they provide. Although the space is tight, everyone gets their nails done as efficiently as possible. I am providing a 3 star because I made an appointment for 6:00PM. I was not seen until 40 minutes later. I understand that there are a lot of customers but if a customer did make an appointment, they should be prioritized over walk-in’s.

This place isn’t a spa but a nail shop. The small space is entirely made up of tables and pedicure chairs. It’s not well ventilated either so there’s a very strong polish smell.But if you go in not expecting a fancy spa, this place gets the job done! The people are friendly and my manicure looks great. Walk ins are welcome and I waited around 20 minutes in an open chair.

I love Kimmy + Vicky! I’ve been going to California Nails for about 2 years now and no other salon or technician in the area can compare. They do the best job and the no-chip usually lasts me at least 3 weeks.Anyway, I was in desperate need for an appointment post covid lockdown. My big toenail broke was thus cut incredibly short a few weeks ago. It was very flat and my toes did not look cute in sandals.I called to make an appointment with Kimmy, and I learned that Kimmy and Vicky are now working out of Phenix Salon Suites at 100 E Walton St - which is still convenient and close to me as it is only 2 blocks away from their previous location. They were able to get me in the same day.I came in and voiced my concerns to Kimmy and she did an incredible job on my pedicure - added acrylic to my big toes and reshaped my toenails entirely (see uploaded photo of my before and after!). Vicky did my gel manicure simultaneously- and it’s flawless!They are honestly unbeatable and I refuse to go anywhere else for my manis/pedis. Highly recommend!!!!

I always do my pedicure with Anne and my nails with Tammy. They are amazing at what they do and them being so sweet makes me always want to come back. Thank you for my pretty nails and toes ladies!

I went in for a basic male manicure. I requested to have all my cuticles removed and this lady tried to trick me and push them up and apply cuticle lotion. She then took the cuticle cutter and faked cutting my cuticles. I told her i need all my cuticles gone, she smiled, nodded her head, and continued to fake it. Annoyed, I left and went to Victoria nails to get the job done correctly. What a waste of time and $19. Never again.

I walked in with two broken nails the two lady’s by the door looked me up and down and told me they don’t have time to fix two broken pink gel nails (2:14pm) all while they close at 8pm. I was told to come back tomorrow morning at 10am ...only to find out they open at 9:30am I will never go there.

The technicians are all professional and their work is better than any salon Ive ever gone to. I have been ising teo of the technician for pver 20 years. Everytime I try another salon they dont compare.

I like how they take their time to do your nails. But the place is dirty. They need to do a better job at keeping stuff clean. I didnt feel comfortable seating there.

Really cute nail salon. They do a great job and have a nice atmosphere but they get busy on weekends and weekday evening so its worth it to call ahead. Very friendly and professional team and their no chip manicures are fab! I love that they dry so quickly and they come out with such a shiny finish. Best of all is the neck and shoulder massage while your hands are drying!

Amazing! I am very very particular about my nails, and the no-chip manicure I just got is absolutely perfect! It also did not take too long, I only waited about 5 minutes. It is very clean inside and all the girls were really sweet! $35 for a removal and no-chip manicure...that seems to be the going rate in Chicago. I would definitely suggest this place! I will not go anywhere else after this.

I visited California Nails for the first time as a walk in. The ladies were not pleasant and kept talking to each other when I said I wanted acrylic nails. They kept saying your nails are fine. Then they became upset and annoyed when I said I want acrylic. Two ladies worked on and off on my nails and I did acrylic with the dipping powder because they suggested it and yet they didnt know how to do it. Several attempts and yet my nails turned out horrible and looked super ghetto as if a 5 year old did them. They were super rude and I was in there for 2 and half hours. My pedicure was also only 15 minutes long. This place is horrible. I would recommend no one to go there. I work in the hospitality industry and will NEVER suggest this place to anyone. I have been getting my nails done for years and this was the absolute WORSE experience I have had. The ladies are rude and theyre in it for the money. I paid $90 for nothing....

I recently planned a pre bachelorette party. We reserved their party room that is located in the second floor. The interior is chic and we were able to take great pictures!! It is BYOB and we brought a few appetizers. All the girls had a great time! The staff was amazing and if you let them know before hand, they will supply you with silverware and glasses!

Horrible horrible service. Went in for a full set and it couldnt have been done by the worst nail tech in the world. And the owner got mad at me for being pissed about the horrible service. Unbelievable.

I’m visiting from out of town, and found this nearby salon. I didn’t have an appointment, walked in, and Sue did an amazing job on my mani-pedi. She didn’t take any shortcuts, was very accommodating, and my nails look great! Price was extremely reasonable.

I went there a few days ago, will NEVER go again. I took my mom for manicure and pedicure. It looked like a teenager did it. It looked like when you put too many coats of polish and it looks goey and gross. They charged me $40 for a polish change, a full set is $45. The owner, whoever she was said “these are down town prices”. First off all my names were originally done on Michigan ave, they just didn’t have any appointments, my reason for trying them out. To assume I’ve never had nails from downtown was rude and she had an attitude because I questioned the prices.$40 for a polish change is ridiculous. Definitely won’t ever go back

Very dissatisfied!! I gave this place a second chance. What a waste! As the previous reviews, they talk another language and if you dont like something, they get mad. I had to leave for an appt and came back and still she dodi fix it right...

I just love this place! I get pedis regularly here. Tip for newcomers: the nail racks rotate, so if you dont see the color you want, just gently rotate it to the other side.

Wish i wouldve read the reviews before walking in. in a rush in need of a quick mani. hate feeling discriminated. thank u to the girl sitting next to me for standing up for me. they couldve just said no one was available. wanted me to put my stuff on the floor(everyone else had a chair) then gave me attitude when i pointed that out. no customer service if your brown. made me pay before even finishing (they did not ask anyone else)

I found them to be rude and late. It is like they are doing you a favor. I know that the Asians dont have the same manners that the Americans do, but they dont care about being pleasant to their customers.

Went in to get a no chip manicure removed. First off they dont have they right nail polish remover to take a no chip manicure off. I sat for 15 mins and only the color lifted leaving the no chip base bond still on my nails. Second the woman trying to remove it had no idea how to use the tool that scrapes the color and bond off. She then became very rude. She said she wouldnt charge me for the removal and I left. If you apply no chip manicures in your nail salon you should have the right remover to take it off. Needless to say this place is horrible. Smells like chemicals. Very unkept place and not good hygiene practices. Do not go here.
