I received a no chip by the owner of the salon. She was pleasant and we had good conversation during the service. When I left the salon, I noticed my nail had began to chip. I received a survey for the visit and completed it. I included that my nail had began to chip and also commented on the fact that I was charged a different price than what was on the website. Next to the service it had a price with a plus sign next to it. It was explained to me when I paid for my nails that the plus sign meant that there was an extra charge for more experienced nail techs, which included the owner, I let the receptionist know that this was not clear on the website and suggested it be explained better. After not hearing back from my review comments, I emailed the salon explaining my service experience. I did not hear back from the salon. I called and spoke with the receptionist, I believe, and explained my nails were chipping and it had not even been a week since my service. By this time, several other nails had began to chip. She said that she would speak to the owner and call me back. I still have not heard back from the salon. At the time of this review, the original nail that began to chip, that polish has started to peel off in large amounts. I make an effort to support businesses in my community but have been disappointed with the service and response time that I received during my first visit. I had scheduled another appointment to get a no chip and pedicure but I will be cancelling.

Absolutely the best service, environment and care. I took my mother that has partial paralysis from a stroke. The ladies there were beyond kind. Her nails and feet look great! Thanks ladies!

This business was beautiful inside, clean, and I had high hopes. Unfortunately, I sat waiting for 40 mins for an appointment. I know we all get backed up from time to time …but the nail tech had an attitude with me for her scheduling issues. I didn’t feel comfortable having her attend to my polish job after the tension mounted. Additionally, there were no apologies or offers to re-book. Nothing.Prior to the appointment I had to confirm the appointment, take a COVID survey, and of course schedule weeks in advance. I think the least they could do was be on time.But the space looked lovely and other people seemed satisfied. I just got a bad roll of the dice

I go regularly for a strengthening no chip mani and basic pedi. Im typically serviced by Cami and Im never dissatisfied. Excellent service, prompt responses, and very creative!

I called and made a same-day appointment. I walked in and was seated promptly. Staff was pleasant & shop was clean (though I noticed empty drink containers near the brow/lash area). Pedicure was fine (albeit I’ve never heard of anyone cutting toenails while they’re dry & she ended up chipping my nail because of this) until I was placed under the dryer. I checked my polish to see if it had dried & I noticed there were bubbles in it. I also noticed that the clear coat for the rest of my toes did not come up high enough near the cuticle line, leaving a noticeably thick line. The final thing I noticed was that my feet still had dead skin on them. I pointed these concerns out & the staff member offered to fix it, but instead of having me return to the salon chair, she had me prop my feet on her knee, which was not only uncomfortable, but not professional in my opinion. The paint job was still unsatisfactory & I didn’t want to wait anymore because an hour had already passed. I explained that I didn’t feel as though I should pay for this service because I walked away with an incomplete service. They tried to convince me to stay so they could redo the services, but I was completely dissatisfied with the first two attempts & didn’t feel as though a third one was warranted. I drove 30 minutes from the west side to support a black-owned/woman-owned shop, but chances of me returning are very slim.

I chose this salon because I wanted to support a black owned business and it is a block from my home. My appointment was at 10am. I arrived promptly at my scheduled time, but was not seen until 10:15, because my nail tech was working with another client. (No big deal). I was seated for my detailed pedi, which was $65. I informed the tech I would need acrylic on two of my toes. She informed me it would be an additional $20. (No big deal). I informed her that I had no chip polish. She said thats an additional charge. (No big deal). I informed her that wanted no chip.....additional 20. I said naw Ill just do reg polish. She proceeded with the service. I informed her that the shape of my nails was slanted to the right. She the told me thats because my toe is slanted. I said I dont care. So she fixed some what. ( but im not really one to complain, so I let it go). We go to the pumice stone. She was very rough, but i didnt say anything, because I thought it may have been necessary. I did inform her not to be so rough on the left foot. Whole time the slide of the right foot is itching, then burning. She nicked the skin. Im peeved at this point. Now i cant do the final part of the detailed pedi because the skin is broken and it really hurts. I asked for the no chip instead of that last part and she told me no. She can downgrade my service and i would need to pay $25 for the no chip. I was very unhappy with this. I said first you told me 20, now 25. I wanted to act a fool, because this is a business that caters to the client needs and u are seriously going to charge me for no chip and i didnt get what i asked for bec the tech was careless and nicked my skin. I asked her to talk to the manager, who was siting 10 ft away. She basically refused without verbally doing so. By this time I just wanted to leave. So she charged me for the services i received ( i didnt even get any polish). I wanted to act a fool (which is completely out of my character)In my opinion, even though i dint ask, i felt that the no chip should have been given for free. The owner was right there and didnt feel the need to say anything. Customer Service is priority!Im so sad i had a bad experience. 😢

The people are nice. Atmosphere lovely. I think that I paid too much for the work. Like for real! I dont mind spending the money, but to receive a full set acrylic, 4 foil fingers and no chip polish for I think $68....i think that the nail shaping and perfecting shouldve been on point.

I support black business but this place is the reason most people dont. I was unaware of there cancelation policy (because this was my first time) and I had the earliest appointment time so there was no way I could speak to someone about RESCHEDULING. I DIDNT WANT TO CANCEL. I was told I would still be charged for my appointment time and charge an additional $50 if I wanted to reschedule.

I will always support black business but this is my first and last time here. My polished didn’t dry until over an hour after leaving meaning my nails were ruined and I had to remove it. They water down their polish to make it last instead replacing it. They have a lot of learning to do.

This was my first time visiting this salon, the atmosphere of was so warm and inviting. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive to the customers. Its a bonus that the shop is black owned, I will definitely be a return customer. Monica did an awesome job on my pedi and Minnina thsy for making my nails look and feel amazing.

Monica is knowledgeable in her craft, she teaches and services simultaneously. the atmosphere is quiet and calming.

None of their interns know how to do pedicures. I went there twice and my toes were smushed by the next day. This never happens when I go to regular nail shops...definitely not worth $32.00. Very unprofessional, no one gave me a courtesy call to tell me my regular nail lady wouldn’t be there so they just passed me off to an intern. I wish I could give them no stars and on top of that, they charged my card without my authorization after I left the nail shop for fixing the first crappy pedicure I received which is smushed today. NEVER AGAIN!

Great staff and service. Pleasant atmosphere

I called, asked and was informed by a very professional young lady that the dip powder service is not offered. She also said it was just something new that people wanted to try but that the powder is no different than the no-chip. I was disappointed because I really wanted to support this business. Having had acrylics, gel and no-chip all with and without tips at a minimum of 2 years each I can say that there is a huge difference in the dip powder. It lasts almost 2 weeks longer without a chip, crack or peel. No uv lamp is required. Ill repeat NO UV LAMP IS REQUIRED. You sit for 5 minutes when done and your nails are completely dry and harder than the acrylic when you walk out. The reviews for PWI are amazing and I wish this business continued success.

My experience was great. Tomoca did an awesome job on my pedi, I love that the clients are educated on how to take care of there nails and etc. My cousin Shavon started me going to A Polished Work Inc. And I havent been any other place since.

Although I had to wait a little while because there were 2 appointments ahead of me (I was a walkin, didnt know i had to have an appointment), the environment was amazing, great music, I was offered a drink, seats were comfortable, nice and calm place, and no one was talking about me in another language!! Lol. The ONLY reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because they are EXPENSIVE and I wasnt told the price ahead of time. My pedicure was $35 dollars, and a Manicure is 50-60 dollars! That is crazy! Its nothing that they did special to make the price that high. I liked the atmosphere but the price makes me not want to return at all! We talk about supporting other black businesses but black folks cheat each other! I can understand having a little higher price because its better than an Asian place and better service but 60 for a plain, one color fullset acrylic with no designs it anything extra is ridiculous!

Do not go to dione! Worse black owned nail salon ever! first off I got acrylic for my prom that was the next day. I went June 9th 2016. Ok so I wanted coffin shape the nails by their self was $40 dollars she talking bout not for that price I couldnt get them the length nor shape. Im like df ? umm if I would have went to the Chinese people it would have been like $22. Thats not the worse thing. My appointment was for 5:15, I didnt get out the shop till 8:30.. Slow asl! She had a whole attitude. you will not see me at the shop anymore I cant sit in a nail shop for 3 hours straight. the nails came off within a week with no hesitation.. HORRIBLE. if I would have went to Chinese shop they would have stayed on for atleast 2 weeks! my graduation was the next week and I wasnt even able to wear them to graduation.. DO NOT GO THERE if u want to have a good service, I warned you.
