My husband and I recently had to change dentists (due to our long time provider’s retirement) and wanted to try someone in our neighborhood. A neighbor told us he was very happy with the care he’s been receiving at the Edgewater Dental Group. My husband switched first, had a couple routine appointments and then a dental emergency. He was very satisfied with how all aspects of the practice worked together to competently take care of him. I’ve had one routine appointment and am also happy with the care and the personalities of everyone from the receptionist to the assistant to the dentist. I am happy we found this practice! We will be switching insurance so they are in network for us from here on in.

I had a retainer break and they were able to fit me in within a few hours of calling. I’ve never had a better experience at a dental office or felt more comfortable. Everyone was really kind and explained things thoroughly, both at the front desk and with the dental work. Highly recommend!

Came here for some crowns after a root canal and was so impressed with the office & service that theyve become my regular dentist now. Office staff have been very up front about how much visits would cost, and checked before tacking on any additional charges (if necessary).The office itself is clean, open, and bright. Everyone Ive interacted with has been friendly and helpful – they do a great job of letting me know whats going to happen before they do it, as well as giving me the context of why theyre doing what theyre doing, and being very calm overall (which I appreciate as someone who is anxious about dentist visits).Very glad to have Edgewater Dental so nearby!

Going to Edgewater Dental was one of the best experiences EVER. Dr. Shima and her assistant Lucy were so gentle and professional. Dr Shima was very informative about my dental needs and very understanding of my fears. The whole atmosphere in and around Edgewater Dental was magnificent. I strongly recommend coming to this dental office. Everyone there are wonderful.

How often are you happy after a dentists visit? I needed a crown replacement, and its been ages since I went to one. Some heavy duty cleaning and a temporary cap later, Im happy. Their people are very conscientious and very caring.

Displeased to hear of such a lack of compassion or care for folx with disabilities and medical anxiety. I recommend every single staff member on this team become trauma informed and more aware of how to deal with pain management and understanding people with disabilities. A person came forward with medical ptsd from this physician.

Patience and explanation of all services being provided. Breaking down steps and procedures and giving you options for your decision making. Newer technology that is less cumbersome and takes less time. Everyone has been very nice to work with 😊

Rating one star for the heinous misgendering and mistreatment of an autistic adult in this dental workers care. Client expressed they were autistic and in a state of emergency. They were repeatedly told to calm down not in any sort of tender kind way but with the annoyance of the client. They were misgendered and shaking from their experience unable to speak in utter shock. When the client asked for antibiotics they were denied which I believe is pretty unethical. The next day when they called in pain unable to see out of their left eye from the surgery, the dentist refused to even call the client or get on the phone and told them to go to the hospital instead. Filing a report on ethical grounds. This office is not trauma informed and has clearly had no training on humans with disabilities. In 2021, it should be mandatory in every field.

The receptionist and the Doctors are good.I have gone to Edgewater Dental several times Ive always had a positive experience. You can be assured that Edgewater Dental Group has the best plan in mind for your dental needs.There are new dental assistants in the office. I believe that are doing their best. In a side note perhaps the new dental assistants need more monitoring.

This practice is efficiently and compassionately managed by a fantastic group of folks. Their dentists are thorough, friendly, and very good at their jobs. Dr Chauhan has done an exceptional job patching up some enamel damage and working with my sensitive teeth and anesthesia resistance. She has a great sense of humor and I’m bummed she’s leaving the practice, although I’m happy to be transferred to Dr Vasanwala’s capable hands.The office staff, assistants, and hygienists are fantastic as well, and they treat patients who have Medicaid with the same excellent care as they do every other patient. Definitely the best dental practice I’ve visited in all my 41 years!

My first time visit was great! Dr. Hermann was amazing. Check in process was quick. I switched to this office because my old dentist didn’t take my new insurance. I came in to get a cavity filled.I noticed how sanitary the staff and the office was. The precautions they are taking made me feel very comfortable- temperature check upon arrival, instructed to wash hands and mouthwash once I got in the room.Dr. Hermann was very thorough and I love that! After xrays were taken, she made sure she showed them to me and explained my teeth’s condition. Talked to me the whole way through the filling process.The only thing I did have a problem with is that the assistant was a little aggressive with the tools. I felt like she was pushing them against my gums way too ward, it was a little painful. But I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt. She might’ve been new. I’m not going to give a bad review or a low review just because of that.Overall, amazing team.

Ive never felt comfortable going to the dentist before finding Edgewater dental group. Ive had multiple crowns put in and multiple root canals done. Each time my dentist Dr. Chauhan was very caring and preformed the procedures perfectly. I never felt nervous or uncomfortable while I was there. They dont push any products or any service if its not needed. Appointments have always been on time. They do call and do a check-in to see how youre doing the day after a procedure is done. The office is clean and warming. The front receptionists are insanely nice. They all follow Covid protocols. Yeah, dont know what else to say. I have found my dentist office for long time I hope.

Took about 2 hours for a wisdom tooth extraction including the cleaning and X-rays. Overall very pleasant experience, Dr.Hermann was very informative and listened to all of my concerns.

Be careful! I booked an appointment and the receptionist assured me they accepted my insurance, only to bill me for $100 a month later for a simple cleaning. It was disappointing and could have been prevented if they were transparent about being in or out network to their patients. Lesson learned and won’t be returning.

This place is super prepared for Covid! Super clean and friendly staff! I really liked my dentist, Dr. Hermann, and she was professional and caring chair-side manner. Will be returning. Also, I drink coffee and my teeth never looked better!

I found the prices comparable to others. The price to have a root canal done here is lower than going to an outside specialist and the work seems just as thoroughly done. The care and compassion here are great. Different than some dentists (where you have one dentist present for your entire procedure) the doctors here make more use of assistants while they rotate around to other patients, and this increases the procedure time a bit over going to a dentist that is present through the entire procedure. But all of the assistants seem very skilled, so not a problem for me. One thing they do have is very state-of-the-art imaging technology, which is kind of fun to watch. Great attention to being as pain-free as possible here. I liked the ethnic diversity of staff, (both the dentists and assistants). Staff is on the young side, and tend to speak in the soft mumble of this generation, so Im often asking them to repeat information. But overall a definite thumbs up!

I went in for an exam and extraction, and because of a dental phobia it was a long time (10+ years) since I last saw a dentist.When arrived for my first appointment, the receptionist was very kind, helpful, reassuring, and warm. A very elderly man walked in, and told the receptionist he was there for his root canal. The receptionist asked if hed been taking his antibiotics, and they discovered that the prescription was written incorrectly for 2 pills instead of 3. The receptionist conferred with a dentist and confirmed the mistake. This was a big red flag to me, but I decided to continue with my visit.The dental hygienists, like the receptionists, were reassuring and very warm. They really put me at ease.When my dentist, Dr. Vasanwala entered the exam room, my impression of things definitely changed. She was VERY rushed, talked very quickly, and went right in with my procedure (first appointment was just a cleaning). It was fine, no probems at all- but when I had questions she was visibly annoyed and again clearly rushing.The extraction was totally fine, no problems.The follow up visit, Dr. Vasanwala was VERY rushed again. She was already getting up when I had to say Wait, I have a few quick questions! She was super rushed in her responses and again, pretty annoyed.I think Dr. Vasanwala needs to SLOW DOWN and take time to explain to patients their aftercare. Her demeanor seemed rushed rushed rushed, and I have the feeling all of the dentists there are catching up because of the Covid backlog. But you guys REALLY need to slow down, youre making mistakes!!Receptionists and hygienists, you rock and are shining stars of the facility. Unfortunately because of the dentists, I wont be returning. I wish I could bring the hygienists and receptionists along to my new dentist visit!

The receptionist double booked my appointment with someone else and then offered me an appointment that was too short notice or if I wanted her to cancel my appointment. I said no, Id like you to tell me why you scheduled me for an emergency visit only to tell me its already booked. When asked about a rescheduled appointment for next week, I told her I could do any day around 1 or after 1. To which she told me that they dont schedule people with my insurance after 1 and that it wasnt possible, even though the original scheduled appointment was for 1! DONT GO HERE. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCOMPETENT ON A BASIC LEVEL

Very friendly staff. Got me in last minute as I was experiencing some major tooth pain. They were able to pull the tooth and they weren’t too costly and even gave me 20% off because I didn’t have insurance. I will definitely be back.Clean, efficient, helpful!!

When I scheduled an appointment with them and asked them if they can do cleaning and 2 filling at the same time, since I have to travel for work for 2 weeks and my dental insurance will expire on September 30. But, the reception double booked my appointment with someone else and then offered me another appointment.All I want to say is “They are unprofessional and they don’t care about your time”

I came in as a new patient with a chipped tooth. Everyone was friendly and efficient. I couldn’t believe how quickly Dr. Szilard was able to fix my tooth! In and out in under an hour and I also appreciated the treatment plan being presented to me before the procedure. I will definitely come back for a proper cleaning!

Great place and very kind, professional team. They do not except my insurance “in network” which is a bummer, but wonderful facility.

The staff and the Dentist were friendly and knowledgeable . I was taken care of quickly and efficiently. The office is very high tech. I was shown pictures of my problem tooth on a screen in front of me seconds after they were taken. It was a lot easier understanding the problem while looking at a picture of it. It was mostly a painless experience. I expect follow up care to be of equal quality.

Let me start by saying that I dont like going to any dentist. That being said...my experience here was painless and wonderful. The people I encountered were very nice and helpful. I like being told ahead of time what is happening.I had my teeth cleaned and x-rays. We set a plan for future appointments.My appointment was right on time and I was in and out in less than an hour.

I would highly recommend Edgewater dental group. Dr. Herman and all of the staff were very friendly and professional. They also answered all of my questions thoroughly and patiently.

Moved to Chicago a few years ago and have been dreading finding a new dentist. Luckily this one was right down the street so it was the first place I called and from start to finish I have been very impressed with this place. Everyone is wonderful and the atmosphere is incredible. I walked out feeling like I was leaving a spa instead of a dentist (even while my mouth was in pain) I am so happy I get to come back in 6 months and they have really made me a patient for life!

I was in a ton of pain and 3 hours away from my regular dentist. They were able to get me in same day and help me out which I appreciated so much. I will definitely use them again in the future!

After many different dental practices, I have finally found the one that fits everything I expect in a dental staff. Dr. Hermann and his friendly, competent staff provide outstanding patient care in state of the art facilities- all the while talking the patient through any process and making sure that your comfort is their utmost concern.It is unusual to find such an honest dentist who truly seems to be looking out for your best interests. Dr. Hermann always has time to answer questions and he gives special attention to each and every one of his patients.I am also happy to say that my entire family belongs to this office, including my 4 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Dr. Hermann and his staff all do a wonderful job at making kids feel comfortable, and they are fun, too! Dr. Hermans professionalism is second to none and as his patient, you dont receive just a treatment, you receive an experience and an education. His work is efficient and of high quality but what separates him from the rest is his insistence that you as his patient understand what he is doing and why. I have had three fillings at this office from two different doctors and two of the three have broken/come out. The most recent filling lasted for 5 days. And they failed to tell me that they are no longer an in-network provider for me so I had to pay out of pocket for a filling that broke less than a week after I got it.

PREDATORY BUSINESS PRACTICES. Really liked this place when I first arrived in Chicago. Being one of the millions without insurance they seemed very reasonable and had great care for the price. Then I had a problem that required a visit to dentist (popcorn kernel turned into an infection). When I arrived I was asked to confirm that this was an emergency visit. When I said it wasnt the receptionist demanded I pay $75 upfront to even get into the dentist (Ive worked in a medical office before and this is a major faux pax). When I asked why I was being charged up front I was told it was because I didnt have insurance. Once inside I explained that the issue I called in had resolved itself but I wanted to have it looked at. All good but I had a chip in a filling (a filling they had done in April for me) and they wanted to take care of it....to the tune of $326 in addition to the $75 I had paid just to be seen. I declined and was on my way out when the same receptionist that demanded I paid up front stopped me to sign and date some paperwork for her. Thank god I read everything because she was trying to get me to sign an authorization for the procedure and billing in the sum of $326. Theyre predatory and greedy. Will not be back.

This was my first time here for a cleaning and check up, and I was very happy with the experience!! They checked me in right away, I didnt have to wait long at all since I had an appointment. The Xrays were quick and the cleaning / doctor very professional. Glad I found this place to be my next dentist!

At first glance, this dental office is beautiful, the staff were nice, and my Dr. (Dr. Desai) was ok. I was being seen because I needed dentures. So.....in August we started the extractions. After that i found pieces of several teeth still in my gums, she said that was normal. But i was in pain. Anyway, i was finally fitted for dentures, (did the molds, picked out what color teeth i wanted etc.) However, when i called to rescedule appt to pick up my dentures, i was told they didnt take County Cares dental anymore. Now, here i am with NO TEETH AND NO DENTURES!!! They seemed annoyed when i tried to fjnd out what i should do, and then suggested if I pay cash I could finish treatment. I am very upset with this place. Not a good place. Unless you can fork out cash! SMH!
