Aaron has cut my hair for about 4 or so years now. Great cuts, great chats, top notch! During the pandemic I let my hair grow out well passed anything I had had before. In need of a tidy up but unwilling to let it all go, Aaron suggested I see Tara. Im not a particular guy when it comes to my appearance so I asked her to leave me with something that looks good, and is easy to maintain. Check and check. Tara gave me some great tips on easy maintenance and Ive had a bunch of compliments since. Right on! Would recommend both Tara and Aaron and I wont be looking elsewhere as long as I have hair.

Ive been going to Esquire and getting my haircut (mostly with Aaron) for the last couple of years and I highly recommend the shop. Ive also had cuts with Tara, who is excellent. Book ahead and bring cash! You will be looking and feeling great if you do.

I’ve been going to Aaron since I moved to Chicago over two years ago. I’ve lived in a lot of different places and spent more than I care to admit in pursuit of a quality haircut. Many barbers will give you a great cut most of the time, but no barber or stylist I’ve seen has given me a reliably consistent result. I’ve gone from a helicopter client, who watches the process of the cut intently, to someone who the other day spent most of the cut in a trance while watching their TV. Aaron is fun to talk to, efficient and on time, and the value of the cut cannot be beat. It’s sometimes difficult to find an appointment within 5 days, so plan ahead, but the cuts are well worth it. The only drawback to the services is no shampoo to rinse off the little hairs afterward. But for the $20 you save from going someplace that offers shampooing, you can treat yourself to a nicer shampoo and do it at home which is exactly what I do.

After struggling with constantly changing barbers and barbershops I finally found Ricky at Esquire. Great cut and conversation everytime. The sense of community in the shop Is stellar and there is almost always a cute pug chilling in the window. Although I have only gone to Ricky each barber seems to have a regular sitting in their seat and I have never seen an unhappy customer. Make sure to book an appointment in advance and the shop is cash only.

A fantastic, small barbershop. Ive had several of the barbers cut my hair over the last couple of years, and it always turns out fabulously.As for Covid-19, they seem to be running a tight ship. Everyone has been masked, and nicely spaced.The reservation system is easy to use, and makes for an easy trip to the barbershop.

My first barber “Miracle on 34th Street”-ed me because my hair was too long and had me come back the next morning for someone who was more skilled with my hairstyle. I really appreciate it! A good cut, and a pug in the window to boot.

Esquire barbershop is a nice little shop to get a haircut. You can make appointments online ahead of time and pay using your phone. The staff are efficient and friendly and are doing an excellent job with social distancing and making sure you are safe while getting a haircut

Esquire is a great local barber shop. The barbers are all friendly and professional, and theyve been taking great care to be safe during COVID. Ive been having Ricky cut my hair for the past year, and he does a great job. Its cash only, and the barbers charge different rates, so its a good idea to book an appointment ahead of time (online is easiest) and to check what the barbers rate is.

Got my hair cut here for 6 years, and would recommend to anyone, as long as you have a sense of humor. Fun and friendly environment, and never got a bad haircut. Make an appointment on their website in advance, as appointments book up quick. Unfortunately had to move out of the area (sorry, Milosh), but will try to get back when I can.

Barbers here cut great! Cant really go wrong with any just as long as you know what you want, theyll cater to you accordingly. No complaints so far. They finish every haircut with a clean neck shave with a razor along with a hot towel. The barbers love to talk to their clients so dont be shy to pick up a conversation. They even updated their appointment system which is awesome! Just keep in mind that slots fill up quickly so make appointments with at least a few weeks in advance.

Kaila Kwon carefully cuts my hair and trims my beard. She takes her time to ensure that she does the best job possible every single time. She offers suggestions and tips for care in between visits. I am extremely pleased.

This barber shop is fantastic! I moved to Chicago two years ago, after going to a different barber shop every few weeks for about a year I finally found one that I love. Esquire is hands down the best barber shop Ive ever been to, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, they ask you questions about your hair and cut it exactly how you want it. If you have a goal in mind with how you eventually want your hair to look like theyll help you achieve it. I honestly couldnt ask for a better barber shop. If I still havent convinced you to go to this barber shop I thought I should also mention that they have a dog there named Nyla.. 10/10 would recommend!

Loved this place! It’s hard to find a great barber open o. Sunday’s. Service was awesome, my stylist really asked a lot of questions about what I️ wanted, how I️ style my hair and gave some great tips for how to wear it. Definitely coming back.

Tara gave me a great haircut and I got to pet Nyla so overall 10/10 would return. Cash only but worth the extra effort. They had the game on in the background which, speaking as a soy boy, made me feel alienated but I get that its supposed to be a masculine barbershop.

Very professional barber shop, great service. The thing that will keep me coming back though, is this:While I was getting a haircut, a man who was clearly homeless came in to the shop. The staff greeted him by name and talked with him while he sat for a moment in the waiting area. He stayed awhile and then left.I want to give my money to a business where the staff are friendly to someone struggling and looking for a warm place to sit on a cold day. Thank you.

FROM ONE BARBER TO ANOTHER...I visit Chicago a couple times a year. Normally i dont trust getting my haircut at random shops...i did a lil research and found this place. I was looking for the old school vibes, quality barbers and just overall a good experience...they delivered! My barber was Kaila, she did a solid job, my haircut was clean and she knew what she was doing, very detail oriented. I recommend this spot, Ill definately stop back through next time in Chicago.

The best barbershop Ive ever been to. Theyre are all cool, and they give great, affordable haircuts with no fussing around. Thats everything a barbershop is supposed to be. If thats not enough, its right next to public transit and their website works great for scheduling. There isnt anything a sane person could complain about.

Went here because I was headed to the festival and needed a haircut in a pinch. Though I did have to come back, they werent snotty about it like a lot of shops can be. Was cut by the redheaded girl. (Whose name I cant recall, but she was two chairs in and married to the shop owner.) She gave me exactly what I wanted (the Seth Cohen classic) after finishing a nice Adam Levine-y bald fade on the man just before me. Girl knows what shes doing.

Ive been going there for 5 years now and have had nothing but but perfect cuts from Milosh. The attention to details is incredible and you can tell Milosh takes great pride in his work, even after a long day of work. I could disappear for 6 months and he would still remember how I like my hair and what I do for a living. Great guy and great place - Ill be going there for as long as I am in Chicago.

New Review: this is been my favorite haircut place for a long time, but I felt the need to edit my review because of how unsatisfied I am with my most recent haircut - I truly believe it is the worst I’ve had in a really long time. Im very picky about who I let cut my hair. Most places find someway to f--- it up. Ryan Fields of Esquire is definitely worth the money. Ever since I moved back to Chicago, hes been my go-to guy for getting a good cut.

The woman who cut my hair here was awesome. I walked in to schedule a future appointment and she politely directed me to their booking website which I didnt know about. I booked an appointment with her and she listened to what I wanted and made adjustments based on my comments.

I recently discovered this place. It has a small business vibe which I like. Justin cuts my hair and he is amazing. I consistently get great haircuts. They recently raised their price from $18 to $23 but that is okay because of the great haircut. Make sure to book your appt in advance because justin fills up quickly
