Nice outdoor area! It wasnβt super busy, but the drinks were delicious! Didnβt have a drink downstairs today, but itβs always a blast and looked fun when I walked through it this evening!
Tho I didnt use the Barber side the Bar side was cool, vampire dark (my favorite), and fun! They didnt have any yum yums aka snacks that was a bummer but not enough not to receive 5 stars. We have to be kind to the ppl who has shown up. 1 thing tho, I had a taste for a Long Island Iced Tea, child IDK what they gave me LOL! They made it with Sweet n sour *GROSS* I know we live in a mixologist age however, being able to make a good Long Island...being a bartender is needed too.
DJ Iggy is the best around. Hit up Blind Barber for great ambience and killer grooves.
It was dope the dj definitely knows his music. Congratulations Nick x Alicia π
Will be back when Iβm in Chicago next. Great drinks, great service.
Fantastic music and such an interesting idea. Walking by this place during the day youd never know that there was a bar hidden behind the people getting their haircut. Dance floor is a little crammed but a fun time a vibe all around. If I get there to try the food I will update my review but it looks delicious.
Looks like people rating the bar which I cant speak to, but as for the actual barbershop- they are fantastic. I was in between barbers for a while before I remembered having gone to the bar (and had a great time) and decided to check out the barber shop. I have not been disappointed one bit. The atmosphere is super chill but fun, the staff is professional and easy to talk to, and there was nothing that seemed unsafe of irresponsible in regards to covid. I am a guy with wavy/curly hair that many professionals can easily botch, but my guy Herson has done amazing since the first time I sat in his chair.
Donβt go for mediocre cocktails. Go for cute space and beers with friends.
A fun millenial hangout
Quality haircuts, great location, and has a secret bar in the back π€«
Got a fresh cut AND a free beer! Ill definitely be coming back.
Speakeasy bar with good food and drink.
Overall; interesting to locate, good drinks, helpful staff and intriguing atmosphere.Love the concept of a working barber shop and a hidden speakeasy club in the back. Funny how some reviews are for the barber services and some for the bar in back. Was not expecting the dance floor. A popular place, it was a full house with a diverse crowd and not much room to move. Not many places to sit, either, besides the overcrowded bar. This was bummer because we wanted to swing by for a drink and a maybe bite but you cant really do that with no where to sit.
A great speakeasy in west loop. Not many people know about it so far.. The crowd is decent too for a bar. Once you walk inside the barber shop make sure to get their drink.. Its one of the few good cocktails I have tried. A must visit for West loop area locals and travelers alike :-)
Wow! What a cool spot! The drinks here are ace & the ambiance/decor is retro & vintage. Staff was very friendly to our group that was there for a birthday. It starts to get crowded here after 10pm on the weekends. If youβre looking for a chill, cool place to start your night - start here. If youβre looking to dance & party later in your night - finish here. Iβd definitely come back!
Was handed our bill and told we had to leave after ordering multiple rounds of drinks. Was told we couldnt talk to the people sitting next to use by our waitress. If the people at the bar dont want to talk to us, they can say it themselves. Why is the waitres telling me who I can and cant talk to at the bar? Ive never felt this disrespected after spending so much money at a place in my life.
Best cut Iβve had ever. Also had a beard trim was also the best Iβve had. I worked with Tim and didnβt know exactly what I wanted to do with my cut, but gave some general thoughts - turned out awesome. During trim (my beard is closer to stable), Tim gave me pointers for everyday upkeep. Great experience 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely amazing place to go if you want some low key vibes and a dark place for your date not to notice your acne. Drinks were stOOpid expensive - $11 for a rail mix. Is it worth it for the clout? Thatβs up to you. I didnβt give 5 stars because they were playing bangers but no one was dancing.
Im so glad Blind Barber opened! My husband recently got his hair cut there and it looks so great...there was a huge attention to detail throughout his haircut. Weve also visited the bar portion several times and it has a very fun vibe. The drinks are really yummy and the space is comfortable and inviting for everyone. The staff is kind and approachable as well. Definitely a new favorite.
Got a decent haircut here and everyone was nice. However, went last night to show some visiting family and we were turned away at the door at 1:20am because they were already shutting down. Not sure why it closes at 2am but theyre turning away people at 1:20am. Wasnt a good experience and the woman at the door was rather flippant about it. I may get another haircut, but wont visit the bar portion.
Nice experienceππΌ
Ive been for the bar and the barber.Bar has cool music and interesting speakeasy 70s funky basement party vibes. Interesting drink menu.Barber shop is clean and chill. Solid tunes upstairs as well. Rhea gave me a good hair cut and beard trim. Didnt have to give her much direction and she gave me a fresh look, I was very happy with it. A little bit pricey but worth it if you need to look good.
Sssssh dont tell anyone how great the cocktails are.........If you go after 9pm be prepared to queue to get in. It gets really busy. The buzz is great. The bar staff are really knowledgeable. The drinks are great. The atmosphere is intoxicating (pardon the pun). The Blind Barber is fun. A must if youre in Fulton Market. Well worth the trip is youre not. Highly recommended.
It was a little weird to me, so many different vibes in the is small space. It was like a melting pot of every type of person in Chicago you could imagine. If youre looking for a very diverse crowd, Id def suggest this place for you. The music was good though, I didnt buy anything to drink.
After 9 youβll definitely stand in line. But we went at 7 on a Saturday evening and it was basically empty. The drinks were delightful and the service quite superb. Love this βhiddenβ bar.
It pains me to rate this place a 3 because I really wanted to like this barbershop. The Barber Shop: The space is nice and they use $400 Dyson hairdryers during your service. Sadly they are giving out cookie cutter plain mens haircuts. I was in the chair for about 30 minutes. I saw about 5-7 haircuts leave the barber, each one more plain than the last. Apparently, I chose the barber that was not into any conversation. I like a little conversation with my haircut, but this session had zero. The cut is $45. If this were a good haircut, then that price would be GREAT. However, the cut you will get here is run of the mill. They do give a 20% discount for your first haircut, so if you still want to try this place...give it a shot. With each haircut, they also give you a drink ticket for the speakeasy type bar that is secretly located behind a door that looks like an entrance to a stock room. The drink ticket is worth $13, so that is a great value. The speakeasy in the back: Love this place! First off, youll need to walk through a door that looks like you are walking into their stock room. At first it feels uncomfortable, but you get use to it. The drinks are unique, the crowd is mixed, and the bartenders are artisans. If you want an interesting drink and a new experience this place is perfect. $13 a drink isnt my favorite price point, but the bartenders actually put effort into making the drinks. Even the way they make the drink is pretty interesting.Bottomline: If you dont care too much about your hair, then get it cut here. If you like interesting cocktails, then definitely go here.
Such a fun place! Too bad you dont need a secret knock. Smaller space with not a lot of seating but they take reservations so I would highly recommend taking that route. Music was great and the atmosphere was fun. When we left there was a line waiting to get in so come early
A cozy lounge with impeccable music and the best crowd. Their grilled cheeses are a must!
Tim is the man.
Awesome vibe! Good drinks. Excellent music!Loved the entrance - seems that the barber shop is legit.
Cool underground spot. Prefer to be there on weekdays where it isnt especially packed. Small bar so you may have to wait awhile for a cocktail when it is busy
First time here. Great vibe and atmosphere. The only problem is that rude bartender who dismissed several customers, and also yelled at me for not being in line when I was clearly standing in the right spot. Other than that, I love this place. Iβll be back.
Retro cool vibe
Barber messed up my beard trim. I filled out the review form and no one got back to me. Way overpriced. Felt like a burden. Barber checked his phone multiple times during my service. Horrible service. Never going back.
This place is an awesome little hideaway in the Fulton Market area. Barber shop by day, cocktail lounge by night. The lounge has a retro vibe with mid century modern furniture and brick walls with soft lighting that set the scene for any low-key hangout. Cocktails are on point and the small plates are killer.Great for: start or end of your night, impress a date, meet up with friends, or enjoying one of their party nights.
I definitely recommend going here for great music, drinks and diversity. The west loop are is a young professionals so its always fun and a lot of different places to go too around the area. The only thing is it gets very crowded so I recomend going to Blind Barber early. Enjoy!
Last night was my first time, visiting Blind Barber. I heard great reviews. However, I was falsely accused of receiving a drink, I did not receive and asked the leave the bar. I will not be returning to this bar. This is unfortunate, the Bar Manager ( a lady) is NOT a good representation of the establishment. After further communication, I emailed the owner. I appreciate the owners, quick response to addressing the issue.
Love this place. Great people in the barbershop and I always leave with a fresh, clean, cut. Note for first time folks, you can pay via credit card but tips to your barber are accepted via Venmo or cash only.
After hours club in back is nice but was EXTREMELY CROWDED. I didnt stay long because of that. Music was nice
One of the best barber shop I went to for a while. Really professional and helpful staff. I wanted to change my hairstyle and they were really helpful to choose my hairstyle and offered some much needed tip.
I purchased a hot shave gift card for my husband and while he was excited to come in, they called and cancelled his appointment day of, twice. Their reasoning was a lack of a barber that day, which is curious since the appointments were made well in advance.
Super cool spot. Amy is the jam. We grabbed some cocktails and a snack before dinner. Loved the atmosphere.
Worse haircut ever. If I have to direct you after you βfinishedβ what you do then we are in a world of pain. Unfortunately illusions of grandeur took over actual skills. π π»ββοΈ
Very cool speakeasy type bar. Good drinks and chill environment. The music selection here is on point!
Such a cool concept. This is a hidden gem in the back of a barber shop. You walk in the barber shop and theres a door in the back that leads to a cute little bar the space is limited and obviously it was super packed. The music was good and the bartenders were attentive. Overall fun place to check out.
I came to the Blind Barber with very high recommendations and was surprised to be greeted at the door with such disrespect. It was -15 degree windchill out and they were definitely not at capacity and wouldnt let anyone in.
Really cool spot, really good drinks, atmosphere and vibes!Great for a date night (but maybe not a first if you are paying for it all!)Overall great experience!!!!!!!!!
One of the best club experiences Ive ever had this is my second time visiting California definitely will be back great atmosphere the music was absolutely perfect early 2000s two teens R&B and Hip Hop had an amazing time definitely the place to be
A little to clubby or else I didnt know what I was getting into. Love the hospitality though
Go early to avoid the line. Just walk through the barbershop to the door on the right and marvel at the lovely speakeasy-styled bar behind. The drinks were very good and later at night they get a DJ and the space cranks up. Really nice speakeasy experience without the pretension.
Great music, and free entry. The two most important things for a great night because then the drinks flow nonstop. Blind Barber is always a classic
A great vibe, the hummus is the best Ive had, and the drinks were on point. Service was incredible too! Will be back with friends!
Love the atmosphere of this place! Drinks are amazing. Bartenders are fast and attentive.
Good work. Very professional. High prices but youβre also paying for the West Loop experience.
I have been here 2x on a sat night. It was insanely packed. Like you cant move packed. The drinks are expensive. I wont come here again. You are constantly having to move or be pushed out the way. The music is mediocre. The songs are ok but it was the same exact playlist both times. I dont really know if they have a dj or its just someones phone. The only thing I like is the esthetic of the place.
This is a really cute place. Love the smell of Palo Santo coming in the door. Music was good. Had alot of fun .
The haircuts can be spotty depending on who you get. Iβve had Kelsey? cut my hair a number of times and sheβs been phenomenalβshe definitely gets 5 stars. Their front desk guy, however is definitely be lacking. Made an appointment over the phone, got there and he said it wasnβt availableβthen claimed to have texted me (which never happened) and said he couldnβt call bc I had called from a blocked number (I didnβt). Plus they have my number of file so why not take 5 seconds, look it up, and call. To top it off he had been pretty rude when I originally called too. When I went in the stylist was apologetic but he was completely unfazed and didnβt offer to reschedule with her. When you pay a premium you expect decent service which this place doesnβt have. For Kelsey Iβd come back, but no amount of trendy plants and beer would entice me to patronize a place with poor service.
The music, atmosphere, and ambiance are live! This place is a main attraction with a very busy bar, that manages to keep up with the demand. A couple craft cocktails leave much to be desired.
Great place!! They have very good music here and the best part is you dont have to wait outside, you get to wait in the barber shop.
Very cool and chill lounge. Gets really busy on the weekends and you may have to pay juice (tip security/door guy) to get in but its worth it for good music and drinks.
The idea of this speakeasy is cool. However, the night that went was my firstime there, and when I entered the Barbershop, which is an actual functioning barber shop by day, I asked were the blind barber was, and the gentleman there seemed annoyed that I was asking. Once in, the decor was cool and the space had a good vibe. We had an inattentive waiter who literally disappeared for about 30mins--his coworkers couldnt even find him... AND we couldnt order any food because the chef was on vacation. REALLY? Theres only one chef? And most of the menu was grilled cheese sandwiches. They couldnt find another capable cook in the city to make that. It wasnt a bad experience, but Im not really inclined to go back. The music was great and it really started to get packed around 8:30, so clearly its a crowd favorite. My slightly off impression may have been an anomaly.
Place gets packed on a Friday or Saturday night. Standing room only. DJ was pretty good, I wasnt annoyed with his music selection. Not a great place to meet chics -- Its loud, and there are too many Dudes.
Go here to get your haircut! Relaxing place and great barbers. A little pricey for a cut but its worth it because they are excellent.
Awesome place to hangout with friends and let loose after a long week. The atmosphere and music is great as well.
Place is cool.. music is cool... but its so damn hot in there.
It was an enjoyable experience, and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back.
I know Blind Barber from NYCs Lower East Side location. The Chicago version is similarly stylish. Its a small space in the back of a barber shop. Cocktails are clean and refined, and theres a small menu with grilled cheese and small plates. There are a few tables around the perimeter of the dance area. Staff was very nice and accommodating for a large group of us.
The setting is very cool- dim lights, loud music. The drinks are SUPER expensive, though. Overall, I had a good time aside from the high drink cost.
Cool at first, confirmed by every patron on right end, lil bartender dudes a punk...
Great place to surprise your friends with if youre looking for something out of the ordinary!
Omggggg, this place was so dope. Definitely coming back.
Fun with popular music. Very crowded on a Saturday night.
Sure, Fulton Market is for eating fancy food and drinking fancy drinks (and working at Google, if thats your thing). But its alllllllllso is for getting your hair did. Well, if youre a dude. I mean, its entirely possible women can get their hair cut here. But Ive only seen guys. They also do beard trims. Also, probably, for dudes.Theres a secret bar through the barber shop, but Ive only ever walked through there to use the bathroom. With my 3-year-old. Who doesnt drink... wine. So all I can tell you is that it exists, and people have gone there while I watched from the chair.Speaking of the chair, I owe my heads happiness to Rhea. She can handle my cowlick, the weird bulges above my ears, the way my hair desperately wants to flop like a wave over my forehead... ultimately making me look good enough to actually get into the secret bar Ive never been to except for pee-related activities.Oh, and my kids get their hair cut with Rhea too. I dont just drag them out to watch me get mine done.Anyway... top things to remember: great haircut, Rhea, secret bar with a bathroom.Get an appointment!
Loved this place, be ready to bring your party game
Theres a secret bar in here u guys. Keep it on the DL
Great place, atmosphere, food, drinks and service but the music... Man if I wanted to listen to white boys hip hop id go elsewhere. Felt like the place has everything to be cool but the music made me feel at Bar Louie.
Fun birthday for my husband and I. Great vibes and good drinks/food.
Horrible First Time Experience.First and Foremost, I arrived 10 min before my appointment and I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before the barber confronted me to start. Completely unorganized and did not even let me know he was running behind schedule.I came in for a beard line up and OMG what a bad experience. I left the chair and my entire neck was gushing blood and now I have two scars on my neck that are not seeming to go away. My beard line up was completely crooked and was not what I had asked for. When I looked in the mirror when he was done It was so bad that it was unfixable and I wanted to leave as soon as I could. He cut my face multiple times, and severely cut my neck which makes me believe he was not even certified to use the blade. He could have actually put me in a hospital the way he was using the blade and machine shavers. I have included a picture below of the scars he gave me. I was so uncomfortable that I had asked the barber if he used a clean blade as well as cleaned his electric shavers because the amount of blood that was dripping on my neck.Stay away from this place. I am really confused on how it has so many positive reviews. It must be fake reviews or reviews with regards to the bar in the back and not the actual barbers. Stay away
Cool little speakeasy type place behind a working barber. Low key, but good for a couple of cocktails.
Cool place to go have drinks at.
Nice spot for great cocktails. In the front is a traditional barbershop where you can get any type of grooming, and through the back door is a an upscale cocktail bar.
Great haircut today! Canβt complain.
Cute speakeasy feel. Entry through the door in the back of the barber shop. Nice decor and seating. Djs spins late night.
