By far the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. Management arbitrarily closes amenities at whatever time they want. Maintenance requests are ignored and the management clearly don’t care about their tenants anymore. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
I absolutely love living year, being my second year in this building Ive gotten to know the staff and they make it really enjoyable. The interior design and room layouts are stunning and I would not trade it for anything else.
Mostly, the Arc has been a really good place to live. The security and management staff are always friendly and helpful. My impression with the maintenance though, is always bitter. I wish they wouldnt try to fix problems minimally. Other than that, its a great community and great location, with very nice amenities.
So far the experience has been really good. I really enjoy sitting up on the rooftop overlooking some of the tall buildings. The actual rooms in the apartments are very nice as well. Everyone at the front desk is very nice and always says hi.
My community is awesome! I love living at the arc because of the amazing facilities, quiet halls, and cool atmosphere. This apartment building makes us feel like were treated as actual adults instead of the dorms!
I’m really enjoying living in this building so far. As a student it’s nice to be close to campus and have amazing amenities! The apartments floor plans are spacious and it’s so nice to always hang out and do homework on the rooftop! Not to mention the resident access to the Taco Bell, though it’s not always great on my wallet.
This place will absolutely wreck you with charges once you move out.Our place was sparkling clean when we left and we still got pegged for several carpet stains and mattress stains the size of a dime which were in hidden spots that they probably dont clean and charge people for year after year. Never seen more of a scam in my entire life. Also great place to live if you want to be woken up by the L every morning at 5am.
I enjoy the roomates I have. Great building and location. Easy to go and have a night out if your over 21. Walking distance from easy transportation.
This place is incredibly hostile when it comes to letting you bring guests in, and they would prefer you to sleep on the streets of Chicago rather than key fob you in, if your key is upstairs and you just need let in the elevator. Not to mention, if your bedroom door is locked, it’s a 50 dollar fee just for them to come up the elevator and unlock it. They take advantage of broke college students funds and will take your money any way they can. Do not live here. You will be disappointed with how much you spent, and will feel like you live in a prison, but oh wait here’s the kicker. There is an actual prison right across the street that they do not disclose to you at all.
Nice building, good amenities but AWFUL management. The building works as a hostel during the summer; you can imagine how loud it gets and the security is questionable.
Im on my second stay at Arc. The staff have been nothing short of great. Theyre helpful and go out of their way to fix any issues. The rooftop is key feature of the building. It has one of the best views in the city.
I love living here, the secrity people are so friendly and try and get to know you. The people in the management office are amazing and so helpful. Cant beat the location and the amenities that come with this building!
OK for a short business trip. Its simple but spacious and clean, the only significant disadvantage is the Loop elevated trains just below the window, and not enough sound isolation. If you are sensitive to the outdoor sounds, choose something different
Living here for the summer and they are incredibly ridiculous about guests. My friends booked flights to come and see me and they wouldn’t allow me to have them all stay with me. Security is rude when trying to come and go with guests and it takes forever to sign in and out every single guest while leaving and coming in.
One of the best housing decisions that Ive made. The entire staff is extremely accommodating and the building is amazing. Ridiculous views, especially from the courtyard. Definitely recommend to anyone.
The managers are rude and do not respect your privacy. The building is half Air bnb half residential since they were not able to get sufficient occupancy rate. The security guards are scary and not nice. Every time you bring guests in you have to sign them in - meaning you have to come down stairs sign the guests in as if you were living in the dorms every time. You can not have parties here since you get fine making noise. You can hear a lot of train noise in your apartments. They make you pay for the months that you didnt live in the apartment calling it a security payment.Overall it was a big mistake signing a lease here. Do Not Live here.
Just dont. There are plenty of other places to rent in the city. Arc should not be on your list. They run a mock hotel to rent empty rooms, which means people are consistently moving in and moving out who have zero respect for the space/how they leave it and dont care to be courteous to other residents who actually live in the building. The leasing staff (besides the always kind security guards) are not helpful and condescending on their BEST day, just dont do it! From the outside it is cute but oh MAN is it a mess inside.Plus Im pretty sure they have created fake accounts to give good ratings and boost their google review score, previously it was 2 stars and that is where is should stay!
This was for sure the best place i have ever lived, from the roof to the taco bell, i loved it all, cant wait to come back next year and live here again!
Its a pretty good place to live. Like every building it has its quirks, but theyre not big enough to fuss over.
Very nice and comfortable! Love the study rooms, free printing, and 24/7 fitness center.
Absolutely horrible experience here. No curtains in one of the rooms - forget about the light that comes in- youre forced to dress in front of building next door. No iron, no hangers, air conditioning only cooled certain parts of the apartment and is extremely loud. Cots for beds- I had a larger twin when I was 8 years old.Terrible service. I to wait 20 minutes for someone to let me in because they stepped out for a few minutes
Pros-great internet-friendly staff-decent apartments-nice rooftop-fast maintenance responseCons-still a lot of construction-doors/Windows arent soundproof at all, it can be rather noisy as a result.-no Ethernet
Very friendly staff and so happy I chose this building to live.
DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH ARCI do not waste my words when saying this living arrangement is absolutely dreadful. I moved in September 1st, 2015 and the building was under construction. It was promised to be finished in 2 months. The construction extended past that date for almost another two months. The website will sell you and promptly stop there. The team at ARC works against you acting as money hungry entrepreneurs, not a force of hospitality of any kind. (They might call to threaten you with fines on a sunday morning) The staff at ARC seems not to have any direction or leadership. Its evident NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THEYRE DOING!This place was made my home for a ridiculously high price. (rumors say they might be raising prices) The management at ARC has no problem going against a contract. This is obvious when they turned my home into a hotel... This is no longer student housing, It is in fact a hotel with a cluttered lobby, luggage, and weekend stayers who don’t care whether or not the place is respected. The lobby is currently being shared with a ginormous sign-in desk apart from the already doormen’s desk. The notion of having a doorman is necessary and quite pleasant when you are a 100 yards from a jail. This being said, a doorman at ARC just might have a short explosive temper that may become violent. I am speaking from personal experience, being in situations where, I’ve been screamed at, threatened, and even pushed. This was reported to the manager and nothing was enforced because, NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THEY’RE DOING. I’ve recieved several calls to come to the office at ARC to renew my lease. They said on the phone during the first call that they were closing the office in 5 days and that I had 2 days before they were going to sell my room… This call was in April… My lease ends in August. I expressed my rights to my room and politely asked that they would stop pestering me to sign another lease. I am still receiving calls about it. If you are a parent of a child that is interested in this building, they might try to have your kid sign anything at any time.Just yesterday, I come home from a trip and I see a notice that they did some cleaning. That’s always a great thing. BUT, I walked into strange splatters on my cupboards and countertops, a pile of lint balls from the filter they replaced, THE STOVE WAS LEFT ON! WHAT? WHY WAS IT ON? And for some reason my bookshelf was moved to a completely new spot. Workers will let themself in at any time so you never know who’s walking into your space. Maintenance workers are treated poorly and they tell me.ARC calls me, emails me, and even texts me to bill me for pity rules I break though, they don’t acknowledge any rules or even laws they constantly break. If you are a lawyer, I’ll sign you in! Guaranteed to have a ball suing these people. I will continue the review upon their reaction to this one...PS: I have, what I think, is the coolest unit in the building on the 10th floor. NOT WORTH IT
ITS A FRAUD. DO NO SIGN. Here is a brief and condensed WHY:Overall, not a student apartment. Overpriced. Dont even have a shelve for people to store stuff (and they say it is a luxurious student apartment). It is also a hotel so your safety is not guaranteed. No blinds in the living room if you live on the north side of the building (people in the building across street can see directly into your apartment). Overall experience: will never rent this place or any place that is affiliated with this property management company again (including Infinite).--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Below is my review from the beginning of my lease_________________________________________________I moved in on August 21st and its been three weeks, and not the entire building is done, which is greatly disappointed. On August 14th, I went into the leasing office for probably the seventh time just to ask if the building would be done on time and they promised a yes. However, I would say the rooftop is probably the nicest area in the building and the apartment is not as nice as the showroom they show you, which is apt 1301. People stuck in the elevator (and water pipe broke on the rooftop? Im not sure about that one but the water was pouring down the street for two days straight). and problems such as outlets that dont work in the apartment just make this entire first month TERRIBLE. If the building is not ready for people to move in, just keep it CLOSED! Also, some of the apartments in this building are turned into hotel, which is not in our leasing contract. This is just not right.Arc is the sister company of Infinite, which is another off-campus student housing on Jackson St and to be honest, both apartments managements sucks but the leasing agents at the Arc are quite nice and friendly. Arcs internet is not as bad as Infinite.DO NOT TRUST THE INFO ON ARCS WEBSITE completely. App for registering guests? No. You have to register your guests with security, which is good because of the security reason. BUT if the information on the website is not right, take it down. The elevators suck in this building. There are supposed to have three elevators and only two are open and they were shut down for a few days since we moved in (yeah, people climbed the stairs to get to their apartment on the 17th floor). Also about the dry cleaning service in the building, which is through PressBox. I have moved in for three weeks and the management team at Arc has NOT yet signed the contract with PressBox so people in the building still cannot use their service. REALLY? Three weeks and they cant get the paperwork done. I dont even want to go back to the whole managements working efficiency thing, which just doesnt exist. Their gym is nice but if you are looking for more lifting machines, go to LA Fitness or somewhere else. The smart screen in the collaborate room is really really nice BUT could anyone from the office tell the tenants how to use them UPON ARRIVAL? That would be really nice.Besides all of these not so good things, Arcs community space is quite nice in general. Staffs clean the building every day and the rooftop is really the nicest are in the building (pool table and fire pit and huge tvs both indoor and outdoor. The study are on the second floor is nice but it literally looks like a pub (not kidding).Overall, I give Arc 2 starts because its livable but there are still a lot of things need to done for this building to be completely ready for living. Right now I wont say its what they call luxurious downtown student housing but instead, its an overpriced and half-broken building which is still under construction and where has already had tenants living in.
Great rooms, amazing rooftop views
The arc has dope amenities and a great place to be at!
Great security team and maintenance but lots of problems when I moved in. But they got new staff.
I have lived here for about 8 months and it has been alright. Problems with security team but other than that my experience has been good.
Overall nice building, security staff are super nice!
Honestly ive had no issues
Its so fun
I have had a great experience living at ARC. If there was a problem, the staff would help straight away!
Great team!!! They are lit! 🔥
Management’s always to the rescue. They are the Old Colony Saviors. The front desk associates are The Arc Angels. You can always count on them to smile and brighten your day.
Way overpriced for what you are getting.
I wish I could live here longer!
US$ 160.00 Property service charge per stay?!?!?!?!
Dope place
