Anna did a great job on my nails last week! I have been going to Royal Nails for a few months and I have always been impressed by their service and professionalism! Anna is seriously the best and have recommended this salon to all my friends! I also asked her to do some nails art following an inspiration photo and she did great! Was very happy with my nails!

Like everybody tried a different place because couldn’t get to my usual place . For one I upgraded my pedicure for I guess a massage and hot rocks ? I mean it wasn’t anything different to me. He did do a nice paint job on my toes . My hands the nails look bulky on some and not bulky on the others. I didn’t want a manicure yet received one 🥴. I told him 3x I didn’t need a manicure. Yeah, I won’t be returning .

I do not know why these other reviews are terrible! This place was FANTASTIC! I’ve never had so much selection in any nail salon ever! The prices are great as well. He asked me if I had a budget. I’ve never been asked that and actually really appreciated it. These beautiful nails cost $65 plus tip. It was well worth it. I keep looking at my nails and I’m just absolutely in love with them. Also I was in and out in 20ish minutes. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING ME FEEL BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Ive tried this salon multiple times hoping for a positive experience.My manicures last a third of the time, compared to any other salon in the area. Ive been told I dont know what shape of nail I want, that I dont know what product I have on my nails and that I have to use a cash app or their ATM to pay.I wasnt going to leave a review, but the last experience I has was less than stellar on my actual manicure (I sat while the owner and another employee made fun of my hands and nails) and then demanded to bring cash for my next appointment, and my dip (that I was told I needed and not given the choice of gel even when I asked for it mtiple times) last less than 10 days.

Received a rushed job done within 30 minutes, nails started breaking after 2 days of services. Some nails were crooked and lifting as well. When I went to ask for a refund, I was told by the man who did my nails that it was my fault and that I should have taken better care of them. I do not have a job that requires me to be hard on my nails. When I get my nails done I am usually able to have them for 4 weeks or more. The worker who did my nails was extremely unprofessional and rude. If I am paying 40$-50$ to have my nails done, they should last longer than a week. I wish I could leave them zero stars, I will definitely NOT be a returning customer.

The salon was nice and clean. They served me hot tea and a snack while I was being serviced. Ive had better manicures but it wasnt bad, I needed a last minute touch and it was worth the time and money spent. Very friendly folks and the foot wrap was nice.

Henry did my nails today for the first time since 4 years that I am going in this salon ! The job was perfect, he is very friendly ? The staff and particularly Ana is super nice I recommend!

Decided to give Royal Nails a chance again even though I’ve been disappointed in the past, but never to the extent that I experienced today. I would never roast or leave a review like this unless I felt it was super necessary and at this point in time, it definitely is. I went with my friend to get pedicures and manicures and we were offered about 20 colors to choose from. When asked if there were more, I received no response from the woman that worked on me, rather choosing to speak in another language to her coworker and never respond. I proceeded to get actually man handled in a way that I have never, quite literally tossing my hands, forcefully and rapidly filing, pulling and throwing my arms in different directions without speaking to me. She got on FaceTime, and when I told her the color I wanted she told me I couldn’t use it because my friend was currently using it. Also paid an extra $15 for a treatment that I didn’t receive- no hot rocks, no callus removal, no coconut-whatever. She left me with a ton of glue under my nails and never had me wash my hands before painting, not to mention we’re also walking away with like 4 slanted nails. To top it all of, we were quite literally demanded to leave them a good google review, and asked to do it in front of them before we leave. ???? Long story short, we all know that this is not anyone’s first option in Charlottesville for nails, but if push comes to shove and you absolutely have to, just ask for Alex, because he’s the only one with an ounce of decency.

I had a gel manicure done by an older gentleman, my nails came out nice & he took his time but, I went with my mother & she got DNS nails & an older lady took care of her but, her work was sloppy & rushed. If I were to ever go back it would be with the same guy but, the oldest lady there is sloppy & careless

Beautiful results, relaxing experience, and my first ever gel mani and pedi. My friend got the no color package but still had the organic passion fruit pedicure, which I also chose. It was very much a pampering! Not your average pedicure. Clay mask, sugar scrub and lotion, professional massage, paraffin wax, on top of the usual pedicure. The jet bath basin was wrapped with plastic and the implements were sanitized. I felt very comfortable per health regulations. I also opted for the paraffin wax on my mani as well. The decor definitely has a spa ambiance. I am very happy with the results. My mother knows the owner’s mother and of course the owner as well. My technician, Allen, was thorough and did a great job. Both my friend, a professional pianist who only had a mani pedi for the second time in their life today, and I, highly recommend Royal Nails Spa. Be sure to book an appointment when they’re not busy, such as we did in the early to mid afternoon at latest. When it was 5pm, it became visibly busy. 😊

They not professional I made an appointment and went there but they didn’t want to talk to me and after I asked they told me to sit down waited for two hours but after all they chase me out just because I didn’t want to pay $20 just for one toes nail that is broken. I think he confused me with someone else and told me that I caused trouble last time I was there and he said that last time I went there I didn’t pay them😭it was very sad moment I was humiliated in front of people. Sad I left my one month baby at home but at the end of the day I didn’t get the service I came for.

Awful service. I arrived business wasn’t that busy, I just wanted a gel manicure. He told me to sit, wouldn’t give me a time. Then I waited at least 30 min to have the gel I had on just soaked off. Then sat with that on for 20-30 min. Then all free techs proceeded to do pedicures on people who came after me. Manager was not understanding I told him I had to leave and suggested he tell people if there is going to be a long wait, he rudely said make an appointment next time. It says walk ins on the door, so I was unaware. I used to go here frequently to get acrylics full set. When I got them removed a newer employee said whoever did it totally messed them up and it ripped on nail so bad my nail bed was raw and exposed. Will never go again.

Had a wonderful experience here with Tony. They have a myraid of nail finish products; OPI gel, other gel colors, chromes, glitters, foils and nail dip powders. He was well versed in my nail shape, coffin. Tony was professional, did not rush and kept good housekeeping during my appt. The salon was clean and all pedi bowls had liners. Tony was also very open to my nail colors and designs. Glad I chose this place, and I am a nail tech myself.

Took my daughter for pre vacations pedis and manis we paid 210 for both of us, and our Manis suck....we got gel and they failed within a week, had bubbles and peeled completely off. Poor quality work, poor quality products.

Its pricey but well worth it. Ill definitely be returning.

My normal salon was closed, so I tried this place instead. I felt anxious the entire time I was there and nearly walked out, except they had started the process and I was then committed. I was sat down, where they applied the acetone cotton to remove my previous manicure and left me by myself for 30min while they took walk-in pedicures. I was never told prices for anything at all until it was time to pay. None of the equipment was sanitized, no surfaces wiped, nail clippings all over the tables and floor. Nobody washed their hands or asked customers to wash hands before working on them. COVID is in full swing and not one employee wore a mask, neither did any customers. There was no plexiglass separating the customers and nail techs either, which made the no-mask thing more concerning. I’m a high-risk client and a nurse that works with COVID patients. It was extremely nerve-racking to be 2-3 feet away from an unmasked stranger who didn’t practice hand hygiene. I genuinely feel safer caring for COVID patients with my N95 on than I did in that place getting nails done. The manicure itself was fine. My nails were cut too short, but it’s pretty. The price was $50 for a simple gel manicure

Lee made my experience there very nice and comfortable as she did my pedicure 😊. I like her warm welcome and personality. Granted her English isnt great barely spoke but her vibe and intentions were very well met. My nail tech the guy with the fake watch on has he calls it was not very welcoming. As I entered the salon he didnt say anything. Then finally not a hello but what you get done? After I said what I liked the communication was broken and short. He said go to chair. I was confused being there were several chairs there. After sitting at his chair, I learned that his English is very well. He was nice to speak with. Maybe he had a brief moment when I first walked in.

Rude staff who can’t follow requests because they don’t speak English well enough. When we tried to clarify what we wanted with the manager, he was rude and short. Try to make a reservation and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Their “free” ATM isn’t free! Cash only likely to get out of paying taxes. They’re overpriced and let my friends feet sit in the pedicure tub for over half an hour because they can’t keep a schedule. They also don’t follow the mask mandate. TERRIBLE!

Pedicure chairs are not cleaned, the arms and the mini tables and cupholders are not clean. The worst thing though is the younger rude fellow that communicates with clients, seemingly to be the only person that knows the English language well enough to communicate. The ladies that do the work seem competent enough and seem warm, but there is definitely a huge language barrier. On the upside, the business does not reek of formaldehyde, as others do.

I’ve been here about 3 times and then my last visit they want to try and upcharge me on a pedicure. The pedi services have been provided by men and they are ROUGH! I was going to get nail services but I passed! They are RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! Will not come back ever again!

Decided to treat myself today and since my regular salon was closed, Id try this one. BIG MISTAKE! As I sit here getting the worst pedicure ever, I was put in the middle of an employee dispute. Its obvious the person I had was new and 2 other employees did not like them. Also as I had the color cards they give you to pick my color, one of the disgruntled employees, came and just took them. I said, excuse me Im not done yet. She sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes. WAIT WHAT.... Her customer looked at me and shrugged, because what else could she do. I have never been to a place that the tensions were so high and customers treated as such. Wont be going back and recommend others heeding this warning.

The man that did my pedicure was very rough. I have never had a painful pedicure before. Everything he used was pre used. One of his tools was a kitchen cheese grater not an instrument made for skin. He dipped his fingers into big jars of product. Cleaning consisted of rinsing things off in the warm water my feet were in! Not once while I was there did I ever see anyone wipe anything down. It did not feel clean to me. The skin of my big toe is still tender. Not an enjoyable experience and I will Not be going back.

The employee was texting to someone 2 times while doing my nails not good

The pedicure and manicure I got was listed as 50$. The lady working there said “my toes were too small” for her to use normal nail polish (never heard this before) so we had to pay extra for gel. I assumed this plus acrylics would end up being around 80$. Somehow, my total came out to 120$- when she told me that it would be that much I asked to not get my nails done. She told me I was paying either way because I had already asked to get them done, so I had no choice. I felt ripped off. Also, another customer was yelling cuss words which kinda freaked me out. I will say, though, the pedicure was great- that’s why this has two stars. I think a more professional staff and honest pricing would really improve the quality of this nail place.

Got a full set, gel done TWO DAYS AGO and one popped off and another cracked. Went in and politely asked if she could fix it and her response was I had to wait till after 7 p.m! I arrived there at 3:15 p.m. she said she was fully booked and she was doing one person at the time. She is rude and very unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Overpriced for poor quality. Don’t waste your money! My friend spent over $200, the least she could have done was fix it!

Thank you for ruining my wifes entire day. Never given a price until finished, waited almost 2 hours for a terrible set. The way the owner talks to customers is DISGUSTING. Bad customer service and I hope everyone is warned. This place shouldnt even be open.

My nails are ruined! I got a full acrylic set with gel polish, two nails were not finished with the UV light and peeled up after a day, one nail chipped, the shaping was lopsided and the polish was very thick! My nail tech filed too deep into my nail bed on multiple fingers after I asked her to stop once going so deep that my finger nail bled! When I requested a refund of any sort I was only offered for them to be fixed but with such bad quality I didn’t want additional services, when I denied I was blocked. It has been less than two weeks now and my nails have been completely taken off after coming loose on the corners. The service was unprofessional, the techs got up in the middle of the service to walk outside and took phone calls. Would not recommend to anyone and definitely not worth the price.

Horrible service. I kept waiting to get a simple manicure but they kept taking people that came in after me. The worst nail salon I have ever been to. I highly suggest going to a different salon as you do not want to spend half of your day waiting here.

Anna did really well! I didn’t wait at all for a walk in, she sat me right down and began. When i went in, my old set was overgrown and some were missing and now they are good as new! She was fast, detail oriented, and friendly. She even suggested the silver sparkles on my ring finger to add some dazzle! Will be going back.

What a lousy experience, and one that cost me $50. I had asked for the Lavender pedi, which was supposed to include an extended foot/leg massage that never happened. In addition, the tech was unpleasant and clearly didn’t want to be there, didn’t do any sort of proper sole treatment (just brushed the sponge over each foot exactly one time), clipped my nails unevenly, used a dremel file to rough up my nails, which I’d never experienced before, never lotioned my legs, and did a messy polish job. She left me sitting for 20 minutes after she polished my nails while she moved on to another customer, and then asked her colleague to apply the topcoat, which he did sloppily after I had to stop him because he’d ignored my request to do a polish correction on one of the nails. The correction was done, but the entire pedicure was messy - there was polish smeared here and there around the nails, and on the sole of my foot. I couldn’t wait to get out of there at the end. Don’t waste your time and money - go somewhere else.

I used to really love this place, but Ive had 3 awful experiences now. They will do just enough to where you cant leave (glue on acrylic nails, put your feet in water, etc.) but THEN youll wait like a half hour before you are seen again. They never turn anyone away so the wait times are astronomical and the services are very rushed and low quality. Like I said, Im disappointed because I really liked them before, but its a very different experience now and its been that way for multiple visits in a row now.

Royal Nails is awful, and I will never go back. My sister and I called ahead on my birthday to get pedicures, and they said they could fit us in an hour before they closed. When we arrived they put us in chairs, but didn’t run the water. There were 3 people working and 3 people getting pedis. We waited for 45 minutes and finally left, because they were still working on the same 3 people. They didn’t say a word to us when we left.

Went there last night the guy was very unprofessional to myself and others. Didnt tell you prices changed til after started nails. Theh doubled in 2 wks. Originally 30 for acrylic nails and he charged 60. The older lady did my nieces nails and they was lopsided and didnt even have it on all nail. The other lady that was there was yelled at and was treated horrible by the guy that is supposedly the new owner.

Spoke to a guy named Tony on the phone he told me to come right then and there. I have been in the service industry for over 30 years and I am very easy to get along with because I love people. The woman desperately tried to sell me service in the building. Then while she is doing my nails tells me it will be $20. No price list nowhere and it seemed like a made up price. I told spoke up about me never having been charged so much from NYC, VA to GA. Guy tells me go to one of those places because their rent is high. Who complains that to a consumer? Never will I give them a second of my time let alone a dime.

So I got in the shop located on 5th street and I left my Masks in the car I was in there for 15 mins sitting with my friend before even getting asked to put on a mask an then I was rudely ask to get out an said they would call the police on me for not having a mask that was so disrespectful an unprofessional he rudely did my friend’s nails throwing everything everywhere when doing them just horrible DO NOT GO TO ROYAL NAILS

I have been to this nail salon 4 times, rotating through their employees. I have noted that the young male employee has the best work. That being said, the quality of work for the price that you pay does not match. Every occasion that I went there the work was poor and once pointed out was not received well. The most recent time, a girlfriend and I had appointments at the same time and she had to go without her Pedicure because they did not allot enough time to do hers. Included is the photo of my last gel manicure. I really wanted to like this salon, as it is in a convenient location, but the search continues.

Beautiful nail salon. Very relaxing space. Extremely nice nail techs. However, extremely overpriced! $100 for a gel fill in and pedicure. I did go here several times. Unfortunately I ended up with nail fungus. They didnt take time to care for my nails. They were just slapping thin layers of acrylic on top each visit. Eventually layers began to crack under the surface, moisture was getting in which resulted in fungus. Dont go here to pay for high priced, unprofessional work.
