I booked a prenatal massage over a month ago. I tried all week to get in touch with someone to update to a soak and a facial as my body has been swelling and didn’t want a massage. After days of calls, voicemails, and messages going unanswered I get a call at 7 am from someone telling me that the person who was supposed to do my massage is no longer there. She did not provide an option to rebook, just said she has worked everyday. I understand the pandemic has caused a staffing shortage for many businesses, but the lack is communication was extremely unprofessional.

Ive been seeing Kayelyn for facials leading up to my wedding and wow my skin has never looked better. Kayelyn is very experienced at assessing what your skin needs and then creating a customized facial and product recommendation list. If youre looking for a great facial, look no further!

Have loved coming there for the last 6 years! Recently have been getting facials and the improvement in my skin is mind blowing! Poorly managed...They will cancel appointments last minute!I made an appointment 3 weeks out for my wife and I to have a couples massage. The Monday before our Friday appointment I was contacted and informed that they would have to reschedule our appointment. I explained to the person that we were traveling into town for her birthday getaway and that we would not be able to come some other time. I asked if there were any other options or if we could have any other services instead. The person informed me that no, they book up quickly on Fridays! That is exactly why I made a reservation 3 weeks out.

CitySpa is my go to for wonderful services. The massages are so relaxing as well as getting all the kinks out.Kaelyn is the best person I’ve ever had for facials. She is a master of soothing my skin. My skin is so soft and glowing.

I love love LOVE this place. I’ve been going here since late 2019 for Brazilian waxing and I’ve never been disappointed in their services. I recently got my first facial and Kayelyn made it a life changing experience. The facial itself was amazing but it was Kayelyn’s professionalism and knowledge about the products and being able to tell me what products to use for my skin following and it has never looked better. I recommend CitySpa Dayspa to all of my friends and family. Great staff and even better atmosphere.

I was there three days before my wedding. She talked me into getting my eyebrows done but they were dyed way too dark-even worse, I was left with burns on the side of my face that will not heal in time for the wedding.

For one the message was 85 dollars for an hour. Second I called to reschedule because work ran late. The lady processed to tell me they couldn’t reschedule. After that phone call I log into my bank account to see that 40 dollars was drawn from my account with telling me or asking for my approval while I’m at work. I won’t be going back at all and definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone. 👎🏽👎🏽

I have been a regular at CitySpa since the beginning of this year because Kayelyn, my aesthetician, has given me a new hope for my acne-prone skin with great products from Yonka. My acne problems have improved so much with her decisive treatment plan with this skin product.

I spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon at Cityspa courtesy of my good friends Christmas gift. I started with a wonderful, healing massage by Kirby. I then moved on to Kayelyn, who is fairly new to the area from NY and Cville is lucky to have her.She calmed and soothed my angry and neglected skin and I am now on a regime that makes me look younger, refreshed and I need less makeup! I am truly happy to be under her guidance as a working mom who has not been practicing a lot of self care during COVID and even beforehand.And, I would be remiss if I didnt mention the incredible customer service, even down to Jenny, the receptionist, who was very patient and lovely with me during several reschedules.You will feel relaxed, rejuvenated and very well taken care of at Cityspa. My husband and I have been regulars at the cityspa dayspa for almost 2 years now. And we have been extremely satisfied with our experience, especially after trying out several places in/ around the city. Even post covid reopening, we were the first ones desperate to go back and trusted them to take full precautions for a safe relaxing massage experience.Most of the therapists we tried have been good. Cassidy, is really really amazing and super skilled. My husband won’t go with another masseuse; she has been consistently excellent. I also really like Cassidy; she is very responsive and always works her magic! Also, the super-duper Joanna was my therapist for almost a year, through most of my pregnancy and post-partum. I can’t imagine getting through that time without Joanna’s amazing massages. However, her schedule and availability changed, and I have been going to Cass. And the Admin and front desk is lovely too, always warm and accommodating.

I was really looking forward to surprising my girlfriend with a deep tissue massage at Cityspa Dayspa as it was one of the top rated in Charlottesville. I pre-paid online and we planned our weekend trip to Charlottesville, including the days activities, around this.I was then informed 2-hours prior to the appointment that it was cancelled and would need to be rescheduled, but that I could not reschedule it because the woman calling to cancel the appointment was not at a computer. She said she would call back as soon as she could get to a computer(?) to reschedule. I asked when that would be and was told that she did not know when she would call back.It has been 48-hours now, and I have not yet received word from the Spa, nor have I been issued a refund. I do hope the therapist is feeling better, but am disappointed with the service.How unfortunate.

Amy is a ray of joyful sunshine that greats you as you enter and helps you get settled. I’ve always loved having a massage here and there - now its an important part of my life! Ever since my first massage with Cassidy I knew I needed this special / therapeutic time to be a routine part of my life! Cassidy is Amazing! From the first time we met shes always made me feel important and like she cares about me and what I need from the appointment. She knows exactly what my muscles need to feel better. And uses different techniques to relieve pain and stress. She’s introduced me to Reiki- something I would’ve never considered nor thought I’d be interested in but because of how amazing she is, I decided to give it a try. Now - it’s part of every visit. In the last two years I’ve learned to relax more, feel more connected to everything round me and every day moments. Be warned! You will enter the most incredible - peaceful time warp and upon leaving I have been known to loose my car... I now aim to always park in same spot :-). Highly recommend AND make it a consistent part of your life!

Cityspa is the best place in town for massages. Ive been here a few times now for both solo & couples massage, and it has always been a fantastic experience for both myself and my partner.

Im a little late in posting this, I received a massage from Ginger, Reiki and cupping from Cassidy, and neck and shoulder massage from Carmen. All three different appts. All I can say is amazing! Being a massage therapist myself I am very picky with getting massages. All three of these women have knowledge and skill that is clear why they have such great reviews. Its one of the reasons I keep going back. And I recommend you book a massage today. You wont regret it. Just an FYI they are so good they are busy. You can get lucky and book on the same day but it took me three weeks to get an appt that fits my schedule and now i re-book before I leave.

Have been here twice now, had a great experience both times. Massages from Carmen and Ginger were wonderful, they both listen to what youre looking for. All staff are really polite and helpful.

This place was fabulous! We did a couples massage for Valentine’s Day With Jessica and Ginger. They were both fantastic. They took their time and made us both feel very relaxed. A+ massages! Will definitely visit again!

Theres a curtain for privacy but very disruptive to have noise of another masseuse opening and closing door multiple times and walking through my room to prepare her room. Ask to have another room!

My girlfriend and I recently received a couples massage from Kirsten and Chase. It was a phenomenal experience. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing. Everyone involved was attentive and personable. Kirsten and Chase made sure to tailor the massage to our specific needs. We will definitely be returning to visit!

I had been coming to this place for years. A few things annoyed me about my last visit. I walked in, in complete serenity as I had just left my last massage, and then that was ruined by the lady taking so quickly about everything. Relax. This is supposed to be soothing, not a pitch. Second, at the end she got an attitude because I made self-conscious comment on my skin. Third, MY SKIN GOT WORSE. 10 new zits 6 hours later, and they still haven’t went away when it was 2.5 weeks ago! If I could post a photo here I would.Number 4! When I rated the experience a 7/10 from the email sent to me, the owner asked how it went and I told her. She said she would send a gift card to my email. Never came. Emailed her to follow up (which I shouldn’t of had to do), and then no response. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the receptionist didn’t apply the promo on the website running initially, so I almost paid the full price if i hadn’t of catched it. Not going back. Sorry.

My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage. The area was great, and the massage tables were warmed for our comfort. The therapists were really nice, but Id recommend asking about the therapists beforehand; my boyfriend loved his because she used a lot of pressure, but mine hardly used any, and I wouldve liked to have known that going in. Overall it was a good experience, though!

I had the most amazing 90 minute Thai massage with Jessica! She is incredibly talented and really listened to what my body needed. She has a very calming presence and Ill definitely be back. The space is beautiful as well with friendly staff.

I loved walking into this place. So peaceful and relaxing. Ginger was amazing. She heard what I needed and gave me more than I expected. My tension and knots were all but gone by the end of the session. I also highly recommend the hot stones with the massage.

I had a prenatal massage from Laurel and it was amazing. At 36 weeks pregnant its hard to get relaxed or comfortable. She took such great care of me and at one point I didnt even feel pregnant. I would highly recommended her at any point of your pregnancy or just in general. Thank you Laurel and the rest of the staff.

Great massage, totally worth the price for a two hour massage. Holly was my masseuse. She read me very well, figured out what I needed worked on the most, and have me just enough explanation so that I relaxed but also knew what she was doing. Highly recommended.

Chase is the first person in years to have made a huge physical difference in my healing progress from a whip lash injury I received several years ago that has affected my entire body. I feel SO much better on a daily basis due to his skills in Myofacial release therapy which is he will be considered a master in by July 2017. I highly recommend him, (especially for people trying to recover from injuries ~ his empathy and understanding is deepened from his own experiences) and am grateful for his services.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 90 minute couples massage on New Years Eve. By far the best way to bring in the new year. Our massage therapists were fantastic and we both entered the new year relaxed and renewed. We will most certainly be back!

Just had a European facial with Helen, and my skin is so bright and soft! Ive never had a skin care product have such immediate results, but I could see a difference right after the facial was over. And Helen was a sweetheart. My facial was incredibly relaxing. I also got a pedicure, and it turned out great. I highly recommend!

We won a contest. They did not accept all of the contest vouchers. We were supposed to get free makeup. That did not happen. The massages were great.

I was able to talk with my esthetician about my skin and she gave great recommendations and treated my skin the way it needed. I really wanted a relaxing massage, but desperately needed some knots worked out. Chase somehow managed both. Ive had plenty of massages from some talented therapists and can recommend cityspa without reservation.The space is lovely, the locations convenient, making an appointment was simple and quick, and the massage itself was better than expected.

Im so happy to confirm others excellent reviews of Cityspa, which I only recently discovered because my brother sent me a gift certificate through SpaFinder. The historic building sets the tone: warm, comfortable, cozy. Suzanne was efficient and gracious with my facial. I was delighted that she took the time to massage my arms and hands while one treatment was setting up AND legs and feet during another one! My neck and shoulders even got in on the action before it was over. When you weigh the cost of a one-hour facial, factor in that you really get a massage AND a facial!

First time here and it was fantastic! I managed to book a same-day appointment, much to my surprise and relief. Maddie is skilled, sweet, and genuine. She has great flow and precision- transitioning smoothly with both strength and grace. Her intuition was spot on as she managed to find and unwind my angry knots and cords. It takes a certain finesse to work on aching muscles with enough pressure to relieve them, but to have your client remain comfortable. Thanks. Will return.

I have chronic pain conditions that are difficult to manage. As a result, I have tight muscles throughout my body making daily life a literal pain. Chase did a wonderful job of loosening up the muscles in the lower half of my body. After the massage was over, he met me in the lobby with his iPad and pulled up a 3D image of the muscles causing the issues. He then gave me information on what to do in order to try and keep them loose. Great massage + education = WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!

I had the consummate massage experience with lovely Joanna recently. Although it had been some time since Id seen her, Joanna remembered not only my problem areas, but also my preferences. Joanna specializes in myofascial release in which toxins are removed. My upper body felt completely renewed after the hour. I highly recommend Joanna for a luxe relaxing experience.

I had my appointment with Jessica for a Full Arm waxing in August 2016. The next day, multiple burnt marks showed up all over my arms. I went back to complain about the same and Laurel Humiston was at the desk and she asked me to email the Cityspa Director Suzanne . Which i did, along with the pictures . Its been 2 months and I have not heard back from them yet.

I took a quiet weekend to myself, no internet, kids, husband, girlfriends or work. On the spur of the moment I added a 90 minute massage with Morgan and it was the highlight of my weekend. She addressed all of my problem areas with the perfect balance of deep tissue and swedish. Some deep tissue can leave you sore afterwards - with Morgan I just felt rejuvenated and healthy! The location itself is tiny and they are crammed into every square inch of the building which could use a little more TLC in appearance. But once I was on the table all of that was irrelevant!

I can not begin to tell you how happy I am at this moment. Fist let me explain why. On a busy Saturday morning, my daughter and I had reserved Massage and Facial appointments at Cityspa. We live hundreds of miles away from one another and stayed up late catching up which made us woke up late, at the exact time of our appointments. I called franticly worried that we may have to cancel, but an amazingly sweet young woman who identified herself as Karah told us to come on in as soon as we could get there and she would do her best to make it work. I raced in leaving my daughter to shower and meet me there. Karah greeted me at the door with a smile, walked me through what she could do to still give us our services even though I was now 30 minutes late and we got started. My daughter showed up with only minutes of her first service left. Not only did Karah finish my service but she somehow made it possible for my daughter to recieve her FULL services too even though she was an hour late by combining her two services into ONE!! She took the time to make this Mother Daughter weekend special. She walked my baby girl (26) who has never had a massage or a facial in her life step by step through the entire process so she wouldnt be alarmed or startled by anything she felt and then came up with signals before she began to communicate my daughter needs. You may think this is something simple- But did I mention my daughter is DEAF and when her eyes are closed she is completely in the dark with out any form of communication. I just wanted to share how amazing I think this youing woman is. A true gift. Thank you!

Honestly, I was extremely disappointed and will never be returning to Cityspa! The staff was extremely friendly but that does not make up for their lack of ability to preform the service paid for or the lack of cleanliness of the facility.I came in for a Brazilian wax. The table I was asked to lay on had stains on it from previous users as did the towels given to me. It was disgusting!Athena was very sweet and friendly, however, she decided to use a soft wax rather than a hard wax for the removal. When I asked her why she said that she has not had much success using a hard wax in the past; I should have gotten up and left right at that moment, but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and see if she would be able to make the soft wax work. Ultimately she went over the same areas so many times that my skin became inflamed to the point that she had to stop even though there were still large amounts of hair left. Even a full 24 hours later the skin is still thoroughly irritated and slightly bruised (which has never happen before). Because the skin was so inflamed she warned me not to try to shave it for a few days or I might make the irritation worse. If I had wanted to shave I would not have paid to have a wax. I then had to go home and use coconut oil to remove the masses of matted down hair and wax still stuck to me. It took a long time and was uncomfortable and gross.Finally, I am absolutely appalled that I was charged full price for a Brazilian wax when that is not at all what I received. At best it could be called a bad Bikini wax since the ouster lips were still fully covered in hair and there were still small spots of hair left in other places.
