This place is awesome. If you get help from someone prepare to wait. They help feed your family for 6 months and there is a line but if you show up early like 8 am its 👌.Any amount of help is worth all day. They are helping us so thank you. Everyone is friendly and nice. Why would you be rude to someone trying to help the fam. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

The NC ESC is the most poorly run of all 50 states.They are way behind the times in terms of system, people, and values. The mostly republican state cares nothing for people suffering in normal times let alone during a once in a lifetime pandemic. I applied for benefits 6 weeks ago and still have not received the debit card they issue. I was approved for benefits. I called their office and was told that 2 weeks worth of payments need to be approved to issue the card. That meant waiting yet another week! And they dont allow you to have benefits issued to your bank account. I guess they are concerned that us citizens will committ fraud because thats their warped thinking! These same people need to have their job taken and live in poverty for a few years to set their head straight. They want you to document all the jobs you apply for and make you go down to their offices periodically to meet someone who could be your grandmother, asking outdated questions that do not apply to todays work world. People are suffering! Wake up! Pick your heads up out of the sand. Vote these slow Republicans out of office! They have the lowest amount for benefits in the entire US. They simply do not care about you or your family. You can starve, be evicted, and die and they wont get off their lazy a$$es!! Replace all of them!!!

I know theyre busy but its been 6 weeks since I applied for my unemployment and I still havent received a decision on it or any type of request for information. Its incredibly frustrating since I lost my job because of covid-19. Im not sure who is dragging their feet, the employment office or my former employer, but 6 weeks is too long to not even get a phone call, letter, or update of any kind.

Per your website,After you file your claim for unemployment insurance, your last employer is given, by law, 10 days to respond to DES about your claim. No payment will be released until after this 10-day period. Your claim may be identified as ‘pending’ during this period.If there are no issues with your claim, it will take approximately 14 days from the time you file your claim to receive your first payment.So for the people that havent received any payments and its been well beyond the 14 and 10 day waiting period. The phone lines are always busy, theres no response using the Customer Contact form. What do you need to do to start receiving payments.?

The front desk people were awful and the security guard is a mean old black man who was very antagonistic. This place has the best great, useful and very helpful programs but you have to get that information by being a researcher because they dont want to point you in the right direction at the front desk. It is astonishing that the people employed there to be the first contact are so negative and unhelpful with pointing people in the right direction. They hated that I had questions, isnt that what your employed at the front desk for...to answer questions. My over all feeling was If you dont like your job quit!

I really wish that I didnt feel compelled to leave such a low review for this place...But Ive got to say, after having to reschedule my interview upon arrival to this office, requiring that I set aside time for two days out of the week - while trying to find work... and then on top of that, having to wait for - no joke - over two hours before anyone interacted with me after checking in at the front desk. I waited for two hours to be shown an 8 minute video.After having been the first person in the lobby, I was absolutely not one of the first people who received assistance. Apparently, scooting in after the orientation video had already started, warrants that you should be taken care of first. The video ended, and my remaining peers and I was forced to sit in - basically - a small classroom - for about 45 more minutes. We waited so long, in fact - that the person who was simply supposed to play the video for us - ended up coming back by the room - likely hoping to prepare for the next group of people - and was obviously quite surprised that there were still three people waiting in this room. If I could give a higher review for this man - alone - I would be giving full marks. Within the next 3 to 5 minutes, this young man had us on our way.I mean... nobody wants to be at this place... but if you work here, I feel like you should really be doing YOUR job so that unemployed people like ME can get back out to the job search, so we NEVER have to come back to this place and BOTHER YOU again.

Very nice staff but the training programs take time to get into wioa I was helped by miss Tracy she very nice person.security guard was nice to me .I was very scared in there but I feel good when see security guard

After reading all of the negative reviews I was very apprehensive in getting help from this organization. I just spent the last 10 minutes on the phone with Ayana who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about unemployment policy and job search programs. She not only found my past job search account from five years ago she coached me and provided positive job search tips. I’m sorry that others have written a bad review however my experience is positive and unforgettable. I can’t wait to meet the wonderful people in that office tomorrow!

It was a great place for getting help with training and employment. Thank God for the armed security officer there I felt safe.

Calling NC Unemployment on the telephone is a JOKE. Everytime you call its a different response. I have filed 7 weeks of unemployment & resolution is still pending. Agent has been assigned to my case & Expedited, but still NO resolution. Email has been sent to a Supervisor & Agent, but still NO resolution. Dont even think about a call back- NEVER going to happen, although your contact information has been confirmed. I PRAY no one needs a little assistance until youre back on your footing, because NC Unemployment Service, youre NEVER going to get it.

Place was very clean and safe .very helpful to me.really liked miss bell.They got security there which is good.area not too bad

Right now everyone is dealing with this crisis. You cant speak to anyone or the lines are busy. All the people here looking for jobs hire them to help answer calls and assist with this covid-19 mess.

We were actually holding a public rally for a cause and were in between the FDA and the Employment Security building.These people have the nerve to try and kit theyre little security guards to have us removed off of a public sidewalk which is against the law. You have the right to protest or rally on any public sidewalk unless it is somewhere like the state capitol grounds and even then you can request a permit.It appalled me that these people were trying to make us leave because they did not agree with what we had to say or they were just being rude. I suppose they found out when the police were actually there and had no problems with us being there. Its called the Constitution and its all right to do so.I would suggest a business to focus more Ill try to find opportunities for people who actually can work instead of whos outside of their building.

The old black male security guard here is a bully! He seems to take joy in targeting random people for harassment instead of doing his job of keeping the peace and securing the safety of people. I hope they remove him from this site and put him through retaining SMDH.

Love this place staff was great .thank you Mr security officer for being there because I saw many shady looking people come into the unemployment office.lots of stupid acting people thanks for an armed guard .I felt safe

People were nice at ncworks they told me thats its not the unemployment office but a career center .that was true as they helped me get free CDL training.thank God for security office that is there I felt very safe .there are some bad people that come to the center.security man was good to see.

These are the nicest people Ive ever met in a government office. They were helping everyone who walked in. They also truly seem interested in helping you, the office is clean, everyone is very polite and professional, and they have so many resources to help you if you need work, education, resume help, etc. Dont hesitate to come by and visit.

Unfavorable experience involving Curtis Washington, a brother with a badge and gun but no respect for others. Never belittle or disrespect someone that you assume is beneath you. Never abuse your position of power especially when youre checking folks into computers and not out in the field. I will that you are brought back down to reality and that you NEVER disrespect anyone seeking help again.

This is not unemployment anymore. The new unemployment office is way out in independence Blvd heading towards Matthew. Thus location is only if your looking for work.

IAM veteran and bill Douglas really helped me the staff was great as for security thanks for keeping the place safe because folks dont know how bad things are until something happens.

On my way for first time. Hoping to see what the FOI program is about. I will write a clear thought, non-bias review based upon consumer friendly options, Technical support and the FOI ( Former Offender Initiative ) program that is said to aide those with felony convictions.

I used to volunteer at the unemployment office staff was great but some customers were very nasty from the hood no wonder they had security.

Receptionist was so rude and talk down to me she has a job so she doesnt care about anyone else. Sad state of North Carolina cant even hire someone nice to answer the phone
