Georgia was an absolute peach!! This was my first time renting a car and was worried about the experience. She genuinely cared about me and my family from the beginning and made everything so smooth and quickly. Because of her, I trusted the company to rent an extra day. Thank you for going out of your way and above and beyond. And for showing us Californians true souther hospitality. I will definitely rent through you again, specifically because of her. Thank you!!
Lack of signage and direction while traveling in Charlotte wasted at least 30 minutes of my time. Their kiosk is closed, and Hertz was servicing them. It would be helpful to have a sign at the entrance, so you Dont waste your time with your luggage to go up the parking garage and find out you have to go back down to hertz.Hertz was busy with only two associates. My appointment to get the car is 7:45 am, and I didnt receive my car till 9:10 am.Again returning the car rental is disgusting and disorganized. They have rude associates receiving the cars. I was told you dont have to check in the car when returning it. Again proper signage would be helpful. The associate was yelling to all that was returning cars, “no need to check-in your car when dropping off. That is 1989, and its the 21st century. We will check the gas level and any damage later.” What if the damage happened after I drop it off? What if even I fill the gas tank, and then later they tell me its not full? HOW DO YOU TRUST THEM? FYI, the car I got was semi-clean but smelled, and it has 55k miles. If youre charging more money, at least make sure the vehicle is in tip-top shape and smells good.
The customer service was absolutely TRASH with MAJOR INTERNAL INTEGRITY ISSUES. My party was charged with extra coverages and we’re not provided with any verbal warning or documentation of those charges until after my card was ran to close out the transaction. Upon returning the car I come to find out the young lady that helped me also did the same thing to a few other parties that picked up the same day that I did and returned their car this morning. The integrity of this company should be in question from anyone moving forward! They try to force the problem on the customer when in fact they provide very little to no information on how to resolve the issue. IE; please call the local manager, no number or schedule provided. As if customers dont need make their flights.
The counter may be a little tricky to find because of airport signage but I recieved great customer service. They were having a small system issue because of rebooting but I was treated with kindness. The manager Saban put me in a beautiful car and also walked me to the garage. Id rent from this location again.
Reading the reviews ahead of time, I was pretty nervous about renting. Additionally, this was my first time renting... ever. I will say that the DOLLAR counter was closed (as it seems like it often is) but there was signage indicating to use the Hertz counter. When I got to the counter, it wasnt super busy and I only ended up waiting abut 10 min. The representative I saw seemed a bit short/snappy but not impolite. When attempting to use my debut card, his demeanor changed (quite a bit more grumpy) and he informed me that it would require a credit check which was not mentioned at any point in the rental process as I had book about a month prior. He became much more friendly when I agreed to use a credit card. There are LOTS of hidden fees (about $200 more than quoted). On the bright side, the process was relatively quick (10 minutes tops) and they gave me a very nice car that was CLEAN and ran VERY well. I would say, it seems to be hit or miss with this place but it wasnt as bad as I thought according to the reviews I had read prior to arriving.
I booked Dollar through AAA, honestly I didnt have issues with the car, or horribly long lines, or anything, but unbeknownst to me, the agent charged me for a second driver (I confirmed with her multiple times it was free because we are both AAA members). She had me sign a physical copy of the rental agreement before the charge, and then as she was pointing to where to go to get my car must have slipped in the new receipt. I was never told about the extra charge or told the new total of the charges. I wasnt expecting to get duped, so I grabbed the paperwork and went on my merry way.Its been 7 weeks since I filed my first complaint. I have sent them through their website (no response), called them (was told to submit through the website and that they couldnt help me because I signed for the amount), contacted them through Facebook (stopped responding), filed a BBB complaint (no response). Im so incredibly frustrated that they are allowed to treat me like this and I have no recourse other than posting negative reviews (which is generally not something I want to do).So my advice to you, is if you do decide to use Dollar, DO NOT leave the check in area until you confirm with all the receipts you are handed that you are expecting all charges.
Horrible experience!!!! I was charged a $500 deposit for using my debit card because my credit card would not work through their system, but would’ve had to pay a 200 deposit using my credit card. Hi only had the rental car From a Friday to a Sunday. 3 DAYS with a total charge of $158. I dropped the car off Sunday well before the return time. You would’ve thought that my account would’ve been closed out and my deposit released BUT NO! I called Monday to make sure my account would be closed, only to find out that they processed my card for an additional $100 because they didn’t have in their system that the car was returned 🤦🏾♀️ I was told that this would be corrected and that the now $600 dollars would be released back to my card after closing my account, which I was told would be done yet again. I then check my bank account Tuesday only to find out they processed my card for an additional $100.I immediately call customer service only to be told that the account takes 24-48 hours to actually close, which in the meantime they continue to withdraw from my bank account. I said all of that to say I WILL NEVER EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! If it was the last place on earth I would take my chances walking across the country..
I called BEFORE i left town to check on price if driven to different airport. They quoted me $612. Upon return they charged my account over $1600! I have screen shots of my phone call and it lasting over 10 minutes. They say THEY didnt document it on their side so I have to pay. Ive ever had a company be so SHADY! Also changed me for a full tank of gas when I returned it full! Do NOT do business with this company!

They added extra car insurance cover I didnt request . I dispute those changes with out success. they ripped me off I pay more for car insurance than the car rental 😓 be careful with those hiding charges. 👎👎👎
Company is a joke and does not care about customer service at all. Had the A/C stop working 2 hours into a 9 hour drive on a Sunday. If I would have not had a 4 year old in the car, I would have had no issue riding with the windows down. But having to roll them up and down every time he tried to talk was very frustrating. Called the 800 number and got a recording that they were closed. Expressed my complaint to the guy when I returned return car and he told me to call customer service on Monday. So that is what I did. After being on hold for almost an hour, all they would tell me is that they could not submit any kind of refund because they had no documentation of that happening and that I should have called roadside service to report the issue. Last time I checked, roadside service was used for emergencies like a flat tire or dead battery, you know a real roadside service issue not for the A/C not working. Waited on hold to speak with a manager and after another 25 minutes on hold, I was asked to leave a call back number and a manager would call me within 24-48 hours. Got a call 2 days later and same story from the manager. They could not issue any kind of refund because there was no documentation and that was my fault. There was no willingness to help. Only went by there corporate policies and that was all. So because it is not worded anywhere in the rental agreement to call roadside assistance for non emergency issues, it is my fault a refund cannot be processed. Keep up the good work.
First I couldn’t add my AAA membership number for the discount when making a reservation online to try to salvage a terrible day of flying. When my plane finally did land, I ended up having to walking laps around the garage to find where the counter was originally just to go back to where I started. Then, I was told that because I’m not flying out of the airport where I’m picking it up (reservation includes the drop off location) that I can’t use my debit card. Due to COVID, finances were tight for awhile and working on paying down credit card debt and only use my debit card. Being 11PM, most places aren’t taking walk up rentals. Thanks for leaving me stranded at the airport in the middle of the night. Probably named “Dollar” because that’s the level of customer service and care you get.
Great customer service at Charlotte Douglas airport, and the rental price for the car was very reasonable.
Price was the lowest out of all our options. Car was good enough (Nissan Altima). Pickup and drop off were both easy. Not much else you can ask for.
Paid a great price for a 3 day car rental upfront online along with my airline ticket. This has turned into receiving two bills, so far, for excessive amounts (Supposedly theyre service fees related to toll fees i received on Route 74 near Charlotte). My car rental price has almost doubled yet the actual tolls were less than $3. For example, a $46.34 bill for a $1.34 toll fee. RIDICULOUS!!!
Please use someone else if you can! Because if you have to call these folks at the airport, no one ever answers their phone. The cars definitely arent serviced up to par, you are more than likely getting whatever Hertz has passed down that hasnt been sent to the auction yet. Their online customer service is horrendous, and watch out for this hidden charges once you return the vehicle. The only good thing I can say is the agents on the ground at CLT were helpful, but overall I would rather walk than rent a vehicle from Dollar again!
I would normally give more stars but this location was sub par to other dollar locations. The payment process was simple but when I went to get my car they couldn’t keep up. They were handing out cars as soon as they came back from being cleaned.
I rented a car here at the air port one to go home to wv. When I got there they told me well u cant have the car because u dont have a flight. Well I read all of the stuff about renting with a debit card(u have to have a deposit and maybe a credit check. There was nothing on their about not having flight). They did nothing to help me resolve it. Just said their is nothing that I can do and that was the end of that. They could have help me find a different Dollar rental and switched my reservation their. Idk though they could have said more than sorry cant help you. Just so mad because their were no more car to rent that day. Unless u wanted to spend 1,000 to get one. So we had to put off our trip for one day.

Its better described as the BMV.... long lines.... agents leaving their post randomly and disappearing for periods of time.....no sense of urgency....after a long flight the last thing I want to do is stand and wait in another line and thats exactly what happened
Stay away! A 3 day rental minivan somehow cost me $974, and there was no reasoning with anyone at the company over the price (via phone OR at the kiosk).
Horrible. Car was not serviced at pick up. Car broke down while waiting at a stop light. Had to call 911 to get help because I was on hold with emergency service number for over an hour. Went for cheaper but am always reminded that cheap is never better. Very disappointing and am glad that the car did not shut down while on the highway.
I rented a car almost a month ago! Booked it a month in advance, but when I flew to NC, we had to wait over two hours to get a keys. They asked lots of questions all over again, like I didnt make a reservation. And then its turned out that I have to pay again, and amount was bigger from which I payed online. I showed them that online receipt,but worker tell us that we have to pay over those charges. Worker was very rude. Wasnt respectful, and looked like its hard to explain us the questions. We spent almost two hours in the office till worker found us some available car, and it wasnt the one that I payed for! Car inside was dirty and it smelled strongly of cigarettes and weed. Doors and menu screen were sticky, like someone dropped soda on it🤢 they promised us that car is sanitized, but how then it stay that dirty?! pandemic is going on, but I werent safe! Even though I used Gold Membership Pickup!Its been over a month, but I havent received the deposit!Can someone explain me whats going on?!?So overall, I rent car for less than 3days, and total charge is 700$! I HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND IT!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!!
Fraudulent company They are charging me concession fees for them not staffing their counters also they are not honoring the fact that fees were not disclosed told me to take it up with Hotwire. Hotwire says it’s Dollar’s fees that they need to assist. Their phone rep was unhelpful rude and said I should had asked someone at the desk!! Even after I explained there was no one at the desks or at the drop box nothing and sent me an email hours later with the extra charges!! Not acceptable

If I could give them zero stars I would. Pick up and drop off was very easy but also very misleading. I rented the car with a pickup time of 1:45. I asked if it was ok to take early and I was told yes no problem, no extra charges. I returned days later and I returned with 6 mins left in the return window. Next thing I know I’m charged $180.59 LATE FEE??!! I called and asked what the late fee is for and I’m now being told that my return time was 12:30 not 2 pm as I had selected. Well I won’t be renting from these crooks again...I’m still in the process of trying to get my money back. With the emails and screen shots I have of my pick up time.

The reason the main reservation center gave me was the Charlotte counter was busy...all day. Pay a little extra to use a different company.
Horrible Customer Service!!!If you need to talk to someone on the phone, you should brush up on your foreign language skills as they barely speak English and are incompetent at comprehending anything!If you book through Travelocity and pick up your car at the airport...Specifically Fort Lauderdale, FL/Hollywood Airport, you should expect to be billed more than double what you expected to pay. When asking questions, expect very vague answers directly from a script! Nobody can think for themselves! I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER rent from Dollar Rent A Car Again!!!!!The only reason I give 1 Star is that the car was clean and new.I could have rented a luxury car from Alamo or Enterprise for what I paid for a cramped economy car through Dollar and Travelocity!
I was told I had Alamo rental car and plus I couldnt get the car because they wanted a $400 deposit I dont know it was the worst experience Ive been through but I had a credit card its just a limit wasnt high enough I guess and now Im trying to get my money back from hotwire.com and theyre giving me the runaround too anyways some things need to be clear when these hotwire.com so whatever comes are involved so people can be clear before they go pick up the car thats my advice
If I could rate a zero, I would. I rented a car for one day. Showed up to the location and was told “well we don’t have any cars to rent you”. The woman behind the counter had a condescending attitude the entire time, questioning if I actually had a credit card and just down right rude. I asked how that was possible if I had confirmed a rental and was told, rudely, “we’ll you JUST booked it, and the truck outside is for someone else who rented it.” I was finally told that there was in fact another car i could rent, but the rental price agreed to upon booking would not be honored. Sucked it up and rented it. Returned on time. This $80 rental quickly turned into a $120 rental then to a $355 charge on my credit card. Mind you there was no damage or issues with the car. What a waste of money and terrible people to try and work with. I try and be relatively accepting but this customer service was the worst I’ve ever dealt with.
Got charged an additional $200 because the lady at the airport apparently added the “basic” insurance onto my bill without reviewing any of it with me. Dollar won’t do anything about it... shady business practices.
Check in was good, friendly professional staff. They didn’t have the Yukon I wanted but they gave me the Suburban which was nice I have no complaints on the vehicle. Drop off was so nice and quick. I will use Dollar again.$
Don’t rent from Dollar, they will nickel and dime you for charges they don’t tell you about up front stating it is “in the contract you signed”. I will never rent from them again.UPDATE: 4 weeks ago I received an email saying I would be refunding for the charges, but I still havent received my refund. This is absolutely ridiculous. I just rented from Enterprise with my last rental, and had a much better experience. I still stand by that I will never rent from Dollar or Hertz again.

Firstly. 5 stars to the lady who checked us In. Super friendly. Except she didnt explain the toll charges we would receive if we hit the toll roads, all she said was you have a toll quick pass. Cool, right? Except for The toll charges I received after I got back. The $15 per toll. My toll bill is $4.01. My toll charges after the fees is $94.01. Calls to dollar have gotten me no where to see if they can maybe save a customer. Beware renting and hitting toll roads you cant pay for individual tolls for. Youll be out of luck with Dollar and be charged administration fees per toll. Google searches reveal that this is pretty common and fields plenty of complaints about dollar and these charges. Should have read reviews. Should have read the fine print. Thats my fault. First time renting with Dollar. Not a good experience save for the lady who checked us in. Im happy to pay the tolls I received. I knew I was on the toll road. The administration fees though? Excessive I believe. Gotta wonder how much is made at Dollar over fees like this. Renter, beware!

The lady at the check-in desk was very nice and welcoming. However, I was given a truck with a slow leak in the back right tire. I had to stop twice to fill it up with air within the first 24 hours. Customer service didn’t answer even when I called during business hours and when I called the emergency help line, they said I’d have to exchange the truck myself and drive back to the airport, making another 1.5 hour trip. I’d expect the company to take care of the problem and bring a truck to me to exchange it but apparently that wasn’t an option. I’ll be going elsewhere for future business.

Worst customer service I’ve ever witnessed. Arrived at Charlotte Airport and went directly to the Dollar Rental desk to claim a rental car I had already booked online. The two representatives seemed to have no idea what they were doing or how to use a computer. To verify my rental it took over an hour after which they told me my rental car would be waiting on the third floor. Unsurprisingly I went to the third floor and there were no Dollar/Hertz employees to be found on the entire floor. I had to go back down to the desk to ask where my rental car was and Harvey and the other woman working told me “they didn’t know.” I asked them to cancel my reservation to which the woman instead offered me a $50 voucher to be taken off my rental car price upon return. She assured me there would be Dollar/Hertz employees to help me with this when I returned the car. As you can suspect, when I returned the car Dollar/Hertz wasn’t open and there was not a single employee to be found. Save yourself the hassle and go right next door to Enterprise- they Have friendly knowledgeable staff and there are always employees around willing to help. DO NOT RENT FROM DOLLAR/HERTZ. I currently have a phone call into Bryce Kent- we will see if he calls back and how great their customer service really is. 0 stars!!!!

I was not happy when renting at the airport on Jan 29th. The agent asked did I need the damage and liability coverage I said no, I was using my AX card, but in a rush, I did not look carefully at the rental agreement, which did show the charge!
Ive never left a review in my life but these people are so bad i had no choice . Lady at miami airport counter told me the refuel fee was 2.00 per gallon . I accepted that . Later to find out after finishing rental i was charged 140$ for gas . The car i drove was 24 dollars to fill up . Lady at the counter lied to me . I later called there customer service number to inquire on the charges and they hung up on me and never returned my call. I was charged 520$ for a 10 hour car rental . Worst company ever . I promise i will never use again . Absolute joke
My service request was a walk-in. Just make sure you have the proper credentials, payment, paperwork, and youre in a ride that is a baby! Nothing wrong with the car or its features. What took a Star away was the traffic. As I was following the Speed Limit, everything around me was going faster! I reccomend getting the insurance because of this. Daytona Beach has safer highways than Charlotte.
They have a $15 fee per tolls which is reasonable for their time to process these tolls and its written into the rental agreement. However, if you use the NC Quick Pass tolls they count each time the system records you, which is at every possible exit even if you dont exit. I used the toll road one time and ended being charged for (6) $15 fees on a $4 toll. I dont appreciate businesses that have unfair policies and take advantage of their customers. Why cant you implement fair policies that your customers would appreciate and develop trust and loyalty? You lost a customer today.

Friendly customer service. Very patient. Really enjoyed the dodge caravan. The floor storage compartments came in handy. We fit 5 adults (including the driver) and two child car seats in this vehicle and didnt pay luxury vehicle rental prices to get the space. I will definitely use Dollar Rent a Car in the future.

Dave Ramsey should have been a politician with all the lies . Twice I went to rent both times booked and accepted on line and when I got there *ohhhh now they want to tell me only CERTAIN debit cards are accepted.

I rented a car over the phone for Charlotte Airport. Did not realize until I got to Charlotte that she had me booked for Raleigh International. The woman at the counter took a look at us and said you did not want the car that they assigned you. She upgraded me from my $165 rental to $550 one. I am not happy and still unable to get through to Dollar via the phone lines. Their phone keeps hanging up on me.
Dollar was great and all you need from a car rental agency. Staff doing the paperwork was friendly and fast. Staff releasing and receiving the vehicle as well. Would recommend.
I thought this was a great deal and everyone at check in was so nice and helpful. We ended up with a great car. I was saying wow this is the first time I had such a great experience with a rental car company. They told me it would be a better deal to pay for the gas through them. What they DID NOT explain is that you are paying for a full tank no matter how much you use...the girl at the counter knew we were only going downtown. So we paid 41dollars for 3 gallons of gas...what a rip off. Lesson learned.

I booked with the points on my credit card and this place is titled correctly. When I got to the counter, the young lady was polite but rather short. To my surprise, no one walks you to a car and walks around to inspect it with you. I should have known from there. The car was still running but when I asked if that were normal, she assured me that it was likely just serviced and I’d be fine. Of course, In a rush to get to my destination, I didn’t inspect the car myself. It wasn’t until I had stopped to grab my bags that I notice the tail light looked like it was hit. I took pictures. Albeit too late. I tried calling several times but there’s no option to speak to a live person. When I come back to explain, I’m told they rely on the customer to do inspection before they leave. (Great to learn at the end). Not to mention. I’m sitting in 40 degree weather while someone hand writes and incident report for an incident I didn’t cause! There are only two people that work the tiny shed at a time. There were two people in front of me and one gentleman had to remind the clerk that he had a flight to catch. There’s no where to sit to shield from the cold and apparently, no one cares for others time. My hands are freezing while I look up information to complete and incident report. Worst experience ever. You save the headache when you book with a real rental car agency. I’ll stick with enterprise.

Charged me for fuel even though I returned with a full tank. The wait was incredible to check in and then when I went for my vehicle, it was not available and I had to wait again. I have done business with these guys on multiple times over the past year and had good experience. Not now. Still waiting for my fuel refund after calling twice over a two week period and being assured that it is on its way. Avoid for now until they manage to get their act together.
Swift and courteous service at both ends of the process. The car was pretty clean and fit what we needed. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade but no pressure selling which was a welcome change to dollars rental competition. Overall good value and will likely use them again as we use Charlotte a couple of times a year.

Worst experience of my whole life, I never leave negative reviews but the entire process of renting a car with them was a disaster. The only good part of my experience was being able to return the car and that still took over an hour. I would elaborate but this experience isn’t even worth explaining myself. I signed up to become an express member and only booked with them because they are endorsed by Dave Ramsey (who’s name they are putting to shame). To sum it up my vacations experience was greatly diminished because all I can think of is my inconveniences. 1.)Booked a car through Dollar as an express member 2.) Picked up the car 3.) Tried to extend the reservation, found out that my contract was voided and I couldn’t extend. 4.) Called Customer Service to get help I literally called 21times, I finally received help on the 21st time. 5.) Finally extended my reservation. 6.) Waited an hour to check out. 7.) Received some help but still was charged a late fee although I was told I was extended with no charge. 8.) I am thoroughly disappointed with this company how can I be a Express Member and all these things happen to me? This was the most inconvenient thing.
A basic rental car counter but the gentleman working the counter was efficient in his questions and kept the line moving. The midsize car had less than 400 miles. I was 45 minutes late with my three day rental but they didnt blink an eye. Courteous staff on both ends. Thank you Dollar. Ill be back.
I had a wonderful experience with Dollar Rental on Mothers Day weekend. My check in was fast. Donald (the parking lot guy) was very polite friendly and professional, he helped me and my sister with our luggage. The rental car was clean and drove great. I will definitely book with Dollar again. Thanks
Desk Staff was not very polite nor friendly. It took a long time to obtain the car, the staff was very pushy for us to take upgraded car and additional insurances. And then we could not get out of the parking because the second driver was driving and was not listed on the contract. They could not fix the problem. Lost 20 min. No apologies.
Terrible when all of their automated kiosks are down. Employees on site are great and handling it well. But the big honchos and IT need to solve. Did they buy those at Walmart?
For a first time. It was a good experience. No hassle when I returned the rental. I did circle the are 2 times. The entrance to return the car was deceiving. There were metal spikes. I got a bit confused thinking I was going to blow out the tires. Well tilt didnt happen 😂
I wish I could give zero or negative stars to this company.They are cheaters,They misguide you to sell rental insurance.Do not use this company.There are far better rental companies available at this location.Be very careful when signing rental agreement with them,Once you signed it, no one will listen to you.

Watch out for Andrew and his Dollar rental car team at Charlotte airport. I reserved a car for my parents & purchased the damage waiver through Expedia which cost $30 Total for 2 days. My parents questioned the Damage waiver upon pickup and the female told them it’s exactly what they requested online when in reality they force placed their Own damage waiver Of $33/day on there without explaining on top of what I’d already purchased for them. Andrew who claimed to be a manager simply smirked and said “you signed for it.” I literally had a rental car booked with Dollar for next week and cancelled it. I also work for one of largest insurance companies and am having Dollar removed from our list of authorized rental car companies.
Great service at this location, Dominique was very helpful and professional, my reservation was with Advantage car rental but at the time of arrival they gave me the news that they dont have any car available for me, I wish they had notified me couple of hours in advance, Dominique was able to help me out with the car I needed even though the car was just returned but he was able to get it all cleaned out and ready for me to take my family back on the road, thumbs down for Advantage and thumbs up for Dollar
As an Express member Ive noticed a positive difference in customer service at this CLT location. Keep hiring team members like Josh and Cody and you will have repeat loyal business clients.
Unprofessional staff. You would think after the quarantine, they would be happy someone actually wanted to rent their vehicles.
Its a car rental at an airport so....Its difficult to get in and out of. They didnt have the car I wanted.The people are pleasant and the blue lights are pretty.
The wait times and customer service at the CLT location are deplorable. After renting from this Hertz/dollar, I will not spend any more of my money with any Hertz related company.Their billing department takes 30+ minutes to reach, no representative knows what they’re talking about, and I keep seeing multiple $95 and $96 charges to my card. It is Saturday and the rental agreement was supposed to be closed on Wednesday. Nothing about this company makes sense.
Booking with the company was fine, a week after I returned the rental car I noticed a charge to my credit card for a fuel charge. I called the company and supplied the receipt via the Email address given by the Rep showing I filled the car right outside the airport prior to return and have still heard nothing back and have had no credit applied to my card. The automated system tells you to call back the call volume is to high an hangs up when selecting a fuel charge questions!! This is disgusting that a company conducts business like this. I never used the company before and thought I would give them a shot, lesson learned NEVER AGAIN!
Honestly this is my 3rd time renting from Dollar the past two experiences i never had any issues and the customer service was pretty good but during thanksgiving week i was driving a toyota yaris and it caught a flat tire and of course i didnt want to spend more money on their insurance but i think its a ridiculous policy to come out of pocket for $42 for a flat tire when it is not even my fault that there was a road hazard and also their fees are too much but they was able to manage & negotiate to exchange me for another rental and towards the end they drop my rate but i wish their mechanics and employees can check all their vehicles to make sure everything is working properly before they hand it off to their customers.
The Dollar team in Charlotte CLT have been excellent in service, support, and efficiency. As a frequent traveler I have rented hundreds of cars from multiple companies. Dollar has consistently exceeded my expectations. Even when back end computer systems had problems the front line associates took a personal ownership of supporting the orders. I have the highest regard for their commitment and their low prices are an incredible treat.
First of I can assure that I will not be giving them my business again. I was given a dirty car, they tried to charge me for gas that wasn’t in the car, did an 800% mark up on a toll charge (cost 5 dollars charged me 44), and customer service was terrible!!!...but…. As I approached the counter with my info for a reserved car rental and spoke the lady seemed a little bothered but not overly rude. We begin our transaction and it seemed to be going along smooth, as it seem she was making conversation. She ask me if I got the premium or standard rental. And being I really dont rent cars, I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, and ask. I was told it was the type of rental, than asked to sign for the rental. I told her I couldn’t sign something with no real clue of what I’m getting. Cause the rental was $185 dollars and I didn’t want to sign something that said it was $300 dollars or so jokingly. Her face changed and I was shown the details. It came up to $375-$400 dollars and I’m like how did it jump so high. I ask was that including the $200 dollar hold, and I was told no. I got the $185 rental plus premium car insurance and I told her I didn’t ask for it, and she said it was the premium I just asked you about. I told her you referred that to the car rental not insurance. She act as if she couldn’t take it off, but once I was about to cancel she figured a way. Her attitude became rather nasty after that, but I can handle mine so water under the bridge. Than we go to see the rental which I know it said if they didn’t have available what I reserved that I would be upgraded not down graded. They tried to put me in a little small car, when I reserved a pathfinder. I told shorty that wouldn’t work, she said they didn’t have any pathfinders available. So I asked about the Infiniti Jeep that they had available I saw, being I drive an Ininiti but I was told that was an upgraded Luxury car. So I ask about the Yukon and was told the same. So I told her either put me in what I rented or a similar car or just refund my money. Cause it’s not like I don’t have a cars to drive. She radios someone and ask if there was one available, they said yes and they brought the car up. Dirty inside and out scratches all on it. Expired registration tag on the window, but wasn’t as worried bout that cause tag looked good. And with ½ tank of gas in it. I took pictures of everything, and was tired so I took the car and mentioned the gas to the person checking me out who told me she would make record of it. I went home washed the car cleaned it up. And we headed to Virginia, we had to take a toll road to get to our destination which was cool. I’m thinking I’ll just pay the toll. The toll was 5 and some change total. Dollar rentals said they paid it and charged me $44 dollars for the tolls siting administrative fees. Not to mention they tried to charge me for a ¼ tank of gas. I got the car on ½ a tank brought it back on ¾ tank full and they told me that it wasn’t documented. Which was a good thing I took all those pictures. So I showed her the gas hand which had the mileage on it and was not about to let them get me like that. Especially after returning the car cleaner with more gas and they still was trying to make it difficult. I knew I should have just stayed with Enterprise or Hertz but hadn’t rented in a while but I will not be messing with them any more!!! This was definitely an experience not worth paying for. If I could leave 0 stars I would! Terrible customer service
Do not rent a car from here. I was told by the manager at Charlotte Douglas airport kiosk that they would honor my previous rates and when I turned my car in they charged me TRIPLE. When I called customer service to try to fix this, one representative lied and said they would refund me . After waiting weeks, they still hadn’t and I called customer service yet again. Even after telling them the situation and that another representative (who’s name I gave) who told me he would refund it; the lady stated that the guy had removed the correction from the account. She blamed the manager and said she didn’t put a note that they would approve the rate change. So it was my word against hers. Even though I had an original receipt with the lower rates. I will never rent a car with them from them and will be filing a claim at the better business bureau as well.
They do typical cheating. When you book online, they offer attractive price. Then they charge you more after you return the car. When you ask why, their response is going to be the additional charge was tax. No other car rental company has ever done this kind of face to face cheating to me.
I travel a lot and being a rewards members makes it easy. The staff is always courteous and will help anyway they can. Love being a rewards member for quick check out. The only thing (which is not the branch fault) how they size the cars. What they call mid-size would be compact, work on that. Overall great service.
I would leave no stars if I could. My family booked a car with dollar and it was less than satisfactory. If you book through an outside provider they will not honor the price that you booked with them. Also Customer service is an absolute joke. If you have any issues from billing to car problems they will not help you work through them. Advice......use another service.
They are great, they dint have what i rent it so they up grade me with a way better and luxury car at no cost
Left my nice sunglasses in the door of the car. Realized I left them in the parking lot and asked the employee to check. Whoever drove the car down and returned it for me to look pocketed them. Awful service do not use.
We rented a car to visit family through a third party site...before we signed anything the Young Lady that was working explained every charge the website had not included and what they were for. So when I recieved my bill I wasnt upset or surprised by the price differences. The professionalism and consideration she gave us ensures I will definitely use them again! Thank you!
When we picked up our vehicle the people were so friendly.However, couple weeks after we returned home, we got a bill / notice that we incurred $3.92 toll fees (that we were unaware of) and $90 in administrative fees for paying the $3.92 toll fee. We were not notified at all of the toll, and now we owe almost $100! This is ridiculous. At least give us an option to pay our own toll before you pay, so we dont incur such a hefty fine. I would NEVER rent a vehicle from them again.
They were absolutely great! Dominique was very affable and engaging. There was an issue that Samatha very quickly resolved for us and Reginia helped us find a car as there were not many left and truly took care of us. I was very please with their level of service.
Although the vehicle they gave me was superb (per my 2 star rating) I am seriously NOT HAPPY with this Dollar Car Rental. Upon arrival from a long flight I was charmed with great customer service. The CSR told me that I could have a upgrade on my car at no additional cost (for the same price I reserved). Of course I accepted it. HOWEVER, when I looked at my credit card bill I was charged an ADDITIONAL $87.00 on TOP of my original prepaid cost. I called Dollar Car Rental but the only thing they told me was because I signed a contract that I could only get HALF my money back at a $37.00 refund. I assumed the contract I signed was for the original for the price I reserved, not an ADDITIONAL $87.00. Dollar Car Rental you FAILED in my book. Swindling customers is a horrible rep.
