Was denied access to concert I bought tickets for months prior before they required a vaccine card. Did not realize they had changed their details until I literally pulled my tickets up. Was publicly humiliated by staff at entrance although the bouncer pretended to check the guy in front of mes card, which he did not have (we talked about it in line) and allowed him in… I was sent to the box office and told I would receive a refund. Then I left and got an email that I would not be receiving a refund. Don’t make plans to go there without your vaccine card or a negative covid test… I wish I would have known when I bought the tickets, however I was informed they can change their policy at anytime.
Nice venue! Covid conscious, proof of vaccination with ID was required before entry. The show we saw was general admission/standing room but and it was fine. (Maybe theyre all SRO, first time at this venue.) Sound and lighting was good. Bathrooms were clean.
I love this place! When I first relocated to Charlotte this is the first place I attended a concert! Leela James!🔥 They have VIP seats in the back but I love being able to stand up close and personal with the artists and vibe! Very nice and safe environment! The Music factory/ Avid Exchange whole area is a vibe!🎸🎤🎹🎻💽📸🧡
I saw BTBAM here. Honestly, the band and the performance was great! The layout of the venue isnt that bad either. The reason Im giving it 2 stars is the acoustics. Its a very low ceiling with sound absorbing tiles. The audio quality at the venue is awful. Yea they got big speakers, even if it is less than the regular area. I mean, if I wasnt there to see a prog metal band I probably wouldnt be that concerned with audio quality but Im a prog fan so I am. I know they cant exactly tear out the roof and raise it up but they could maybe put some more effort in to the acoustics or at least show bigger name bands in their main area and small start ups in the undergound.
Candlebox and the dead deads..awesome concert
Beautiful venue, first time here, but wont be the last. Everything looked fresh and clean. Thanks for having The Steel Woods!
Always love going to this place. The venue feels very intimate. They made certain that everyone took the covid protocok to heart. Always recommend this place to friends.
Band still playing. No you cant use bathroom before you leave. What kind of place is this? Will not come back
This is hands down one of my favorite venues I’ve ever been to. Small venue, but it’s a great atmosphere since you’re closer to the stage than you would be at most other concerts. I can’t wait to come here when they reopen! #1 thing on my list of things to do once live music comes back!!
This is a very intimate venue to see a band like many of the reviews state. Tickets were fairly priced, bathrooms clean, very easy access to the bathrooms and bar despite the horde of people inside, and the music sounded great. The only negative was that the band was tough to see through all of the people. I feel the stage is not elevated enough, or the floor is completely flat and does not slope at all from front to back. If you are not 62, or standing at the front, it can be very difficult to see the stage without constantly shifting your head back and forth. The experience was enjoyable however if there was a choice of venues to see the same band I personally would try another one out before returning to The Underground.
The Underground is a cool little place. We visited last night for the 1st time to see puddle of mud. Im short and had a hard time seeing but still enjoyed the show. My only complaint is the ticket prices were $25 dollars per person, then when ordering the tickets a additional $20 service charge per ticket and when ordering online it asks for a dollar donation for something with no option to decline so a $25 ticket actually costs you $46 which is fine if they would just charge that upfront instead of finding out when making the purchase. Add the prices of a few drinks (beer $11, mixed drink $13) for two ppl easily starts adding up fast. We arent from Charlotte so maybe this is all normal here, we just werent prepared so this post is mostly for the out of towners to give them some insight when planning a trip.
I went to see Chrisette Michelle. Very amazing experience!
This place is massive inside and very good alcohol selection
Really enjoyed the meet and greet with Coach Ramirez of the Charlotte FC!
I have enjoyed great entertainment there.
Just finished a concert here, first time so I dont know if this is the standard but it was amazing. Intimate stage setting, the staff was fun and efficient, the crowd was great, the artists were energetic, it just seemed like everyone, including staff, was happy to be there and thats hard to do. Lots of kids in the crowd tonight so they even played a few Disney songs over the speakers in between sets.
Nice little venue. Few steps below the sidewalk outside, hints the name. It is smaller than its sister venue, the Fillmore, but it is nicely furnished. My only complaint is the merch area and the line for it stretches Infront of the main entrance. While I was there the tap system was down as well, so no draft beer. Acoustics were decent for the venue size. I would visit again for my taste in music.
Awesome venue for small concerts that provides a much more personal experience with the bands. Love that its surrounded by many great breweries & affordable restaurants within walking distance. We went to hear The Stranger, a Billy Joel tribute band and OMG, they are friggn AHHmazing! GREAT date night.
Great place to see big artists in a more intimate setting. Drink prices arent surprisingly expensive, just what youd expect at a venue. Merchandise is same price as any other concert. Parking always available somewhere around there, but get there a half hour early to get a good spot, both in parking and in the club. Wish they didnt let it get so crowded, but you know, they gotta sell tickets. Also wish they tended to the crazies, they just let them scream and shove and ruin the show sometimes. All in all though, I would go to see a show there again, but would get there super early to snag a railing spot, just so that I could hold on to something and not feel so claustrophobic and shoved. But youll experience that in any concert with only standing admission, so its a price to pay when you want to see an artist in a smaller setting (vs stadium).
The DJ wasnt bad, the beer was awful and expensive, the decoration is cool, didnt expect to see 50% of the people underage.
I had a great time at the underground seeing Starset, The Palisades and Hyde! It has a nice atmosphere. There are no seats inside so wear comfy shoes! There is an outdoor sitting area if you need some air. Drinks (alcoholic) were about $12 each. Parking was neat and organized, and there is a mild walk to the venue across the street. Parking fee is $10.
Cool place 😎
Cut small area for concerts. As I dont like huge crowds this was pleasantly doable. Had they had more fans this place wouldnt have held them with comfort . I enjoy the smaller venues with reasonable amounts of people. Not over crowded and make sure everything stays clean is so important especially the restrooms.
Dope set up for concerts, it kind of has that old school set up for a venue, I loved it and the concert I attended! It is a standing only venue, theres a patio out back for smokers as well. The drinks were reasonably priced, I believe they may have specials but there werent too many on the night I went.Overall, its a nice spot to go out to, I definitely will be back for the next event! 😁
A great location to see mid tier acts. Very well laid out, maintained and staffed. The alcohol prices are a bit steep though. That seems to be the case for all of those live nation venues.
The low celling gives the place an intimate feeling, even with the 800 person capacity. The beers were pricy at 11 bucks (for craft) but big pours so not a bad deal. Pro tip... dont press the bottom of the glasses...youll loose your beer.
Saw Kamasi Washington today and the venue is AWESOME! Ill definitely make the drive from Atlanta again and would even drive from Chicago! Awesome.
Not too big not to small just the right amount of intimate. Great sound! I love it when shows play here.
Great venue, good sound quality. Plan to be squished a little if youre in the crowd, but overall good experience. Parking at/near the garage was about $10 cheaper than the lots closer, and was easy to exit.
I have seen at least 7 concerts here and every single one has been amazing. The sound quality, the venue, the intimacy with the bands us fabulous. Highly recommend this venue!
Great place. Ive been here for an art show, Earl Sweatshirt concert (got to meet him briefly), and a Poppy concert so much fun
Great place to see a show. Small venue. A little loud on the mix so some distortion. Otherwise a great place! Great staff!
This place is pretty cool, and I would give it five stars if it wasnt for the weird rules they have inside. First off they do a full security check, then when youre inside the seating is all reserved and hardly used because of that. Signage is an issue and they force you to keep free of certain walking lanes. Youre not allowed to sit on the floor either but not allowed to use the furniture. Im telling you this place makes no sense, but the venue was good and the atmosphere/people were cool. Nice location but no parking either. Had to pay for a spot a block down. If they could at least fix the weird rules inside, could give it at least four stars.
Nice venue for smaller performances, general admission so if you plan to be at the front plan accordingly to get there early enough to do so. The VIP section has a decent view from the back area and its own bar, which is convenient. Seating in the VIP is pricy, but even standing you have a decent view.
The staff were great. Their kindness from the entrance to the exit. Great sound. Drinks are a tad pricy
Beer was 11 bucks. House speakers the band used were dated. Not enough sitting areas. Bathrooms were clean. Spacious.
Awesome place, very clean and spacious and they have a bar section if you drink. And a lot of awesome bands perform there regularly
I love coming to concerts here! I have come to different concerts here for years and i love it!! I just warn that you WATCH YOUR DRINKS. I had a few other fans that kept bumping into the back of me after TWO redbull vodkas i was so drunk I was barely able to walk to my car and passed out in the front seat. I ended up throwing up and being sick for 3 days just off of two drinks. I had to call out of work that morning. Ive never had anything like that happen to me before. I dont blame staff just wish like security would of said something to the two men that decided to walk me home. My DD ended up finding me being held up by two men i have no recollection of. Im just glad he found me cause i am not from Charlotte and so idk what would of happened to me. But music is great! crowd surfing is a must if you go to a hardcore concert.
The venue was fine as far as a place to see a concert (thats why it gets 2 stars), but refusing to sell water (which is already overpriced @$3 for a 16oz bottle), after the show wraps, is just cruel. There is no proper ventilation over the crowd and people get really hot and need hydration. It seems like the venue would want to make as much blood money on water as they could, seeing that they already have a multitude of ridiculous upcharges and surcharges for everything from getting into the venue earlier than others to their drink prices. You gotta do better.
Parking was good. Sound was great. The bathrooms were large well-lit and clean. The acts themselves put on a fantastic show and I love layout of the venue, however the drinks are outrageously expensive!
I have to give 4 stars because once youre inside The Underground it is not thoroughly accessible and they dont offer wifi. As Im disabled I always note accessibility. I had a great time at the show and the staff was very helpful to me, but there are only stairs to the smoking patio so if you cant do stairs you cant even just get some air. Other than that the venue is great, decent size for intimate and larger shows. The premium seating has great views. Where you line up is not covered at all.
Great venue. Well ventilated and proper air conditioning unlike many Ive been too. Bars on both sides of floor with good cocktails. Went for Snow tha Product and had an amazing time. No issues with lighting or sound. Security was professional and not overbearing. Good place for a concert. Parking close by.
This place is perfect for the party. Nice ambiance with music and of course great food :)
I enjoyed my experience here, went to a concert for my husbands birthday. Nice experience. Although the drinks were pricey. We had a nice time.
I went for Carl Thomas concert and although he showed up very late, Im a huge fan of his so despite him singing for a very short period of time and standing for nearly 4 hours in 4 inch heels, the bathrooms were very tidy and inviting... although very smokey/smoggy. I will definitely be returning in more appropriate shoes lol
Great venue, great vibes. The space was nice and open. The bar art also was impressive. We saw Here Come the Mummies and they were great as always
