SMS Catering service catered my party and they were great to work with. Everything was set up and beautiful for the event. The food was great. Their venue is a hidden gem in Charlotte. I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for a beautiful place to host an event.

I cant thank SMS Catering for making my sons rehearsal party such a success. The food arrived early (they chop the pork fresh!) and was set up before our guests arrived. They brought everything needed for food service. The food was outstanding- every guest raved about it. The customer service was even better with both Bob and Robert literally catering to each guest. And a special note... our sons wedding was postponed 2 weeks after 2 of the brides sisters contracted Covid. Not only did SMS offer to postpone the event with NO penalty, but they were free to be rebooked on the new date. Ill use SMS catering exclusively from now on!

My wedding was June 12, 2021 and I had choose roast beef and grilled chicken. Literally all of my guest said the food was disgusting, cold and had no flavor. The first thing I ate was the green beans and they was so nasty. Even though this was my wedding day I will never forgot how bad the food was . The company don’t allow you to sample the food. They told me that the roast beef is a slab and it was be extremely expensive to sample.I was quite embarrassed to hear everyone talk about how nasty the food was because I trusted sms catering.I don’t recommend you book this catering company unless you want to be disappointed. Also, my friends were trying to stop me from looking out the window because they arrived late. The food is as set up late.I was not happy as a bride because of all of this. Very disappointed because we spent so much money with this company.

Mr.Bob is awesome I just recently had my wedding here and everything was fabulous the food was spectacular and my guest raved about the space and how welcoming the staff was I will be using the facility again

We had SMS Catering Services out to cater a company event at the park. It could not have went better. They showed up early and set everything up perfectly. The food was amazing! We ordered the BBQ pork and chicken menu. The meat was tender and juicy. The bread they used was soft and fresh and the sides were delicious. For dessert the banana pudding was a favorite as well. I loved the cleanliness of everything and professionalism they showed while out there. The prices were more than reasonable and the team they sent was great! I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a caterer in the Charlotte area. Thank you for all your hard work!

The food was great. The BBQ and chicken were fantastic. The banquet hall doesnt blow you away from the outside, but the inside looks really nice and is VERY reasonably priced for what youre getting. We were told different things by different people a few times. We corresponded with Anna the most, and she was quite nice/helpful during the entire process. The staff the day of were very nice as well.My biggest issue is: We paid for 100 people to come to our wedding. Not nearly that many people came (maybe 70-80, including kids), yet there was barely any food left? We also had our rehearsal dinner here, simple hotdogs and hamburgers. They seemed hesitant to bring out more food until it was to the point where people were waiting. Several guest stated that some people, one person in particular, didnt seem very friendly. I think the food situation was also because of this individual.Other than that it was a very pleasant experience

Very intimate and quaint!! The food was good and the people that work the event I attended were very friendly. Not the best location but there is a gate around the parking lot to provide a little security.

2016 SUPER BOWL PARTYAs the 2015 Super Bowl Party, the 2016 was just as MARVELOUS! Bob always does a fantastic job with everything, from decorating, the food and all the fixings! You couldnt ask for friendlier or more helpful staff! I highly recommend SMS for all your catering needs!

My 1st time, going Superbowl Party ! Atmosphere was Awesone ! The ppl were outgoing, cordial/friendly, & not enough words to describe the food(so much food), scrumptious/delicious ! TVs placed everywhere, so the Game was easily accessible !!! Fun Evening....Looking forward to next years Superbowl !

My wife and I chose SMS to cater our wedding reception in South Charlotte. My favorite thing about working with SMS was that they genuinely cared about helping us create the catering experience we wanted, and they showed that with their flexibility. Whatever we needed, they worked to make it happen. They were extremely professional (and it helps that the food was delicious!). I loved working with SMS, and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!

I attended a wedding reception at this venue. The venue dresses up very nicely. The restrooms were oddly laid out. The dinner was okay. Generic wedding food done well.

Watched Superbowl at this location. The foods awesome and the personnel was pretty cool.

I give the food and customer service 5 stars. One area very disappointing is the restroom. It desperate needs updating and they also need to keep it clean.

It has been our pleasure to do business with SMS Catering for many years. We have used their catering service at our location with perfect results as well as participating in functions at least once per year at SMS business location. All of their food is professionally prepared and delicious. We have never had a single complaint about SMS service or their food, especially their pork and chicken barbecue, which is always superb.

The food was barely warm and no where near enough bathrooms. I dont know how they feel that they can accommodate so many people at once

We hired SMS to cater our wedding last week. The food was delicious and the staff was very professional and helpful. Even helped us manage our cocktail hour food even though we provided that ourselves! Highly recommend using them for your next event!

Came here for a reception. Nice facilty with good add-ons. Stage in front with sound system and ability to project programs, video, pictures for all to see. Buffet style food serving today was good and hot.

STAY FAR AWAY. In the process of filing a law suit against them as they worked a wedding for my family and did not fulfill the duties on their contract and when I reached out requesting a refund, Bob and his son, Robert, both refused to provide a refund to reimburse our family for money lost. A few issues we encountered are as follows: We paid for 3 bussers and only 2 showed up, the 2 that arrived did work that only benefited SMS, they were rarely around our guests or the event itself, and one of the workers was actually their office employee who “needed the extra money”. These bussers did not assist our guests or work proactively in any capacity to make the event run smoothly. They reported to Robert (owner) for direction, not us, the paying customer. We also paid for 5 hours and they left after 4 while the event was ongoing. They left us with a bar full of dirty dishes and a huge mess. We had $200 worth of appetizers that were to be served to the guests which they never served (Robert was aware). We paid for 100 plates of food and were told explicitly we would receive leftovers to freeze, however, the 18 plates that were not served were taken back by SMS and not given to my family. Also, prices on our invoices increased between invoices. Do not pay for Party Reflections Rentals through SMS, or you WILL pay a premium. Candles were not lit prior to wedding ceremony as requested. Fans were not turned on as requested. There was no ice in the ice bowl for guests to get cold drinks after sitting for 30 minutes in the hot sun. The worst part of all of this is Robert and Bob seem completely delusional as they do not seem to understand all their shortcomings. They have an excuse for everything. They seem to believe that because they tied balloons to centerpieces, moved some chairs, and served cake and champagne that it all somehow negates all the things they didn’t do. Apparently none of them have ever worked their tails off for 5 hours straight before - these people do not understand reality. I recommend to stay far away. They will try to charm you and make you think they will take care of everything like they did us.. be warned.
