So, we all know that the “down there” wax is a most unpleasant experience. You’re all exposed and it hurts like hell... BUT LET ME TELL YOU... I have been getting waxed for a couple of years and visited this spa on vacation. It was the absolute BEST that an uncomfortable service could be. Tracy is quick and thorough. She makes you feel so comfortable during the experience. Now, I have moved to Charleston and currently have a standing wax appointment. Y’all have to check this place out. You won’t be disappointed. Oh, and if you don’t wax... DO! So low maintenance compared to shaving and zero itching when it starts to grow back! You’re welcome :)

I have had many massages and facials in the past, but I have never before had the wonderful experience that I had at Heart of Charleston Luxury Spa’s new location! I was complaining to my husband about relentless neck and low back pain. He surprised me with a spa day! Start to finish, it was the most relaxing and therapeutic experience! The staff is by far the most professional and talented I have ever experienced. My massage was wonderful and healing, my facial was perfect, and my hair looks incredible. The Spa is beautiful and serene, in a historic building on King street with all of the beautiful character one would expect from a building that was built in the 1800’s. There are GORGEOUS crystal chandeliers throughout, and artwork from a local artist that’s on consignment that highlights some of the most beautiful parts of Charleston, including the Pineapple Fountain. I learned that the owner, with the help of her family, refinished all of the antique furniture themselves, including the reupholstering of all of the beautiful sitting benches throughout the spa. Her love for her business and the people who work for her really shines through. I was so happy that my husband chose to support a small, locally-owned business that is run by such caring people. I understand that it’s been a tough year for everyone, especially in the service industry, but you would never know it from the beautiful energy that radiates from Heart of Charleston. This is the kind of place that sets the example for others, and I cannot wait to go back!!

I vacation in Charleston frequently and was so glad to have found the gem that is Heart if Charleston Luxury Spa. I really enjoyed my spa day. I received the Platinum Facial (which is to DIE for!) and a 110 minute Signature Massage with CBD added (definitely add it!). Both completely exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with how thorough my masseuse was with my knots. The best deep tissue I have ever had, hands down. All around a beautiful place that pampers and takes care of you. I am looking forward to my next stay.

Booked a package for my wife and niece so that they could relax on their trip to Charleston. Lydia and Rossanna took great care of them. My wife and niece loved their experience and felt like new women walking out. They even added on a few extra treatments at the end. Beautiful and relaxing environment with a highly trained group of people ready to relieve all of your stress. Next time my wife heads to Charleston on another vacation, this will definitely be on the list of to dos.

I had multiple services at the Heart of Charleston Spa while in town after reading reviews on Google and liked that it was a small, locally-owned spa. It was amazing! I had the works..110min massage, Glacial Seaweed Body Wrap, Platinum Facial, and a Purifying Back Treatment. It was all so relaxing and refreshing! My massage therapist really worked by stress points! The facial and detox wrap was the best I have had. I added on the Back treatment due to dryness and irritation. I left with smooth, refreshed skin that 3 days after the treatment looks amazing! When I came home 2 days later, I had multiple people tell me how great I looked! I will be booking more services here when I am in town next time!!

We had a wonderful experience here taking some Mom time pampering! The facial and massage were top notch and the place is adorable! I’ll be back for sure!

Tracy and her staff care deeply about their clients and it really shows. I have been going to Heart of Charleston for 3 1/2 years (since I moved to Charleston) and I wouldnt consider going anywhere else. I know that when Im getting any type of service its going to be the best quality available.

This charming little spa, nestled up in a hidden office, epitomizes the essence of Charleston. We only had one day in Charleston and knew that a spa trip had to be incorporated. Tracy and Gena were so incredibly helpful in getting us what we wanted, following up communication for days and weeks to ensure we had everything we wanted and needed. They clearly take time out of their personal lives to dedicate themselves to making sure their customers have the best experience possible, whether that means after-work phone calls or emails from a plane. When we did arrive at the spa, we were given nothing less than an incredibly warm, personal welcome from our specialist, Tabitha. She got us cold water, gave a short tour, and invited us in to get started right away. Tabitha herself is such a lovely person and so knowledgeable about her craft, skincare. Needless to say, the facial she gave me was the best I had ever received, leaving me feeling relaxed and my skin rejuvenated and glowing. There were no harsh chemicals — it was quite soothing — and she explained every material she used, advising me on which skincare products worked best for different uses. Not only was she skilled, gentle, precise, and intelligent, she was also very personable and warm to talk with. I really felt well taken care of. I would definitely recommend booking a signature facial with her for a visit to this delightful spa. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Charleston!

Wow. Just, wow. I paid almost $1600 for a spa day that was worth maybe $60.The staff were nice folks, truly, they tried. However, maybe clients shouldnt be booked until after the renovations are complete. I did not enjoy trying to relax while hearing power drills and loud conversations outside the door.The sound system was a cell phone that played the same sound track that was also constantly interrupted by incoming calls. One of which was taken in the middle of my service.The steamer during my facial was directly over my face and my lip got burned from the hot condensation dripping off the spout. I will say that my shoulders and neck felt amazing after my facial, the CBD oil was wonderful and her technique was great (my husband said the same), the facial itself was lacking tremendously.The 110 minute massage. The worst part of the service, hands down. I specifically listed my problem areas all of which had the least amount of time spent on them. 30 minutes was just rubbing my scalp. The bed was cold. My problem area was my back, why was so much time spent on my front? By the time I was told to flip, my mid back actually began spasming after which point I couldnt wait for the massage to be over with. I got it that her hands were probably worn out after my husbands massage, but why not switch with the other therapist who was doing my facial?The hair service, while my husbands hair looked amazing and I liked my cut and color, it was not what I paid for or asked for. I even had a picture for reference. I wanted highlights. I got all over color. At that point we had been there since 10 am and it was almost 5, I just wanted to go home.Edit: Regardless of how defensive this causes the owner to become, I stand by my review.My review is unbiased. Yes, I did attempt to cancel because I do not believe in being mandated a 20% gratuity charge for a service I had not even received purely on the principle that every other spa in the area does it. That, to me, is a red flag that says the quality of service is lacking and gratuity is given no other way.(Sorry, I was trying to be polite when I said it was out of my budget, I didnt want to come right out and say that your services must suck if gratuity is mandated.)The very definition of gratuity is something given without obligation and I was obligated, I dont agree with that, not at a high end salon. High end salons attract the type of clientele that leaves more than adequate gratuity. Perhaps if the staff had a more reasonable rate of pay, they wouldnt be so reliant on gratuity to feed their families. I always leave gratuity when gratuity is earned. Lord knows this place charges enough, a raise shouldnt be an issue and would be much deserved, the staff were really nice people.Second, a 3% convenience charge to use a debit card when you wont allow any other form of payment is asinine and a complete contradiction in terms.The renovations were far more than just a broken chandelier. The steps were literally covered in broken tiles, there were water spots on the ceilings from water damage, there was one dirty chair to sit in, there was only one wash/rinse station for hair that was dirty, there was no real place for us to wait while our massage chairs had to be cleaned and reset between services, the molding was falling off the ceiling around the skylights, there were several things left unfinished that as a client I should not have had to work around. I understand renovations, but not while Im trying to have a spa day. Again, why not wait until the place is finished before allowing clients to come in? Thats all Im saying, it would have made for a much better experience. Good luck with the renovations, hope this place makes an amazing turn around and does well in the future. I wish I had more positive things to say, truly.

I am so in love with this spa! The place is gorgeous and high class. From eyebrows, Brazilian, facials and massage all the way to the perfect manicure! You absolutely must go and be pampered in luxury!

Tracy did my waxing and spray tan for my wedding. Although waxing certain areas are somewhat uncomfortable, she was quick, and it didnt feel bad. My spray tan looked very natural, and it lasted almost 3 weeks. She was very professional and her prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this spa for all your needs. Thank you for exceptional service!

Tracy is amazing. She has been waxing my brows for over a year and has always made them look great even when I didnt have a lot to work with. I went in today for a Brazilian and full leg wax. It was the best Brazilian I have ever had. I will never go anywhere else!!! She also does and amazing spray tan. I highly recommend you pay her a visit for any of you skin care needs.

As soon as you walk in, you can feel the stress melting away. Its in the perfect location Downtown and next to a parking garage, so you dont even have to worry about finding a spot. Heart of Charleston spa is not only an absolutely beautiful and relaxing location, but it provided myself and bridesmaids with a wonderful experience! I received makeup and hair services for my bridal shoot and wedding day. My bridesmaids received makeup services for the wedding also. Everyone looked amazing and I couldnt have been happier! Highly recommend Tracy at Heart of Charleston Luxury Spa!! She is fantastic! She is so sweet and made me feel so comfortable during my wedding prep services. My wedding planner was so nervous about my airbrush tan I was getting before the wedding, on the day of my rehearsal the first thing she asked me was did you get your spray tan? She couldnt believe how natural it looked! Definitely will be going back to Tracy.
