I have lived here about a year now and have had nothing but good experiences the staff has always been helpful and flexible for me. Amenities are nice, complex is quiet and safe. They bring in food trucks occasionally which is nice too especially if you Work from home. all in all I do recommend its a good area.
I do not recommend this apartment and this is definitely NOT A KIDS friendly apartment. The buildings are VERY VERY VERY old, so that even simple walks will make a noise. The tenants below us are VERY VERY rude and use the F word even before the kids when we are in patio. They do not want our kids to roam in our house or patio as if they are the only ones living in the apartment and paying the rent. They bang the ceiling all the time in retaliation and have threatened us at multiple occasions while we are in patio. We stopping using patio for this reason. I lost my peace of mind, happiness after moving here. The management is only concerned about the money flowing and they do not care about the concerns of the people living there. Even they want to cash money for our concerns. I got numerous calls and messages for noise calls from the management while I am in office even in the day time. If the 2 years old is not allowed to walk freely in his house, I really doubt how these people behaved when they are 2 years old. I felt this is more like a sisters living or old age home rather than a Family friendly apartment. I did not gave much attention to the reviews before moving here, so I really hope this review might help some one in future for their move.
Don’t just walk…Run away from these apartments. Luxury has nothing to do with these units. Front office rarely picks up the calls and maintenance requests can take a month to be addressed.
Amazing place! While everyone said no or demanded huge deposits taking advantage of the inflation and rental market right now, these guys got us right into a nice apartment just when our family was running out of options. Thank you!!!
We lived in Waterside for less than a year. The apartments were very basic, most units have old cabinets, old appliances, etc. We moved there because of the School district. We were charged ~1200$ for a food stain under my kids highchair to have they ENTIRE UNIT CARPET REPLACED. Why?! Because the apartments carpet is connected to each other.I have never ever had an issue with having my deposit returned in the 7 years that I have rented.I do not recommend.
Get ready for a 6:30am wake up call from the grounds crews even when the daily high temps dont reach 100° if you decide to pick this complex for home! NOT GOOD!!
The clubhouse as to be open on Sundays too because I had important stuff to print out.
Do not and I repeat DO NOT live here. This has by far been the worst experience I’ve ever had with apartment living. For starters, I’ve never lived somewhere where it’s almost impossible to get anyone on the phone. I always get the voicemail when I call the leasing office and have to call several times before someone actually answers the phone. Management has no sense of urgency when it comes to responding to maintenance requests or noise concerns. Our neighbors are very loud and disruptive. They have small children who run and stomp all day long. We had this same complaint with the previous neighbors who lived above us. They ended up moving due to the continuous complaints.... however instead of management making a logical decision to not move someone else with small children in an upstairs unit, they turned around and leased it to someone with small children again. My husband and I have witnessed management walk by our apartment to hear the loud noise of the children running and screaming on the patio. We have a newborn who is constantly woken up because of their noise. The leasing manager came over to listen from outside instead of simply coming in our unit to hear what we hear. From our window we saw her turn around when she heard a child scream and she simply walked away. She didn’t speak to the tenants above us or anything. Instead of taking measures to ensure the tenants above us respect that others deserve a right to live comfortably without constant noise disturbances, they tell us that we can move upstairs. If we move, then they’ll just be loud and disruptive to the next family that decides to live under them. Management doesn’t care about resolving situations. They just want you to leave them alone & take everything as is. For as much as we pay to live here, you would think we would be able to voice our concerns but that is not the case. My husband and i even went as far as sending MULTIPLE videos recording the noise that we hear on a daily basis and they still dismissed it as normal apartment living noises. I’m sorry.... but constantly hearing children run, stomp & jump to the point where it startles my child out of his sleep is not “normal apartment living noise.” They also contradict their own quiet hours of 10pm to 10am by constantly having landscapers go through the complex with leaf blowers at 8:30am. I can’t wait until our lease is up at this place just so we can sleep comfortably again without so many noise disturbances. And let’s not even get started on the kids in the complex who play ding dong ditch at night . By far one of the most stressful living situations I’ve encountered
Waterside management is very bad in response . Please do not move here until unless if you have short term plan to stay since this management people forces you to go for long term lease after you are finishing your lease and they demand increase the rent irrespective of market rate. New tenants gets lesser rent than existing tenants so do not fall into their marketing strategy.Mark Taylor should look into the current management held here for Waterside Ocotillo.
I do not live in this apartment complex, but I am a caregiver for a Purple Heart Vereran that does. I provide essential services for this disabled veteran. Waterside has harassed this veteran multiple times about the amount of time I am there. I get paid to assist this veteran. I am unaware of any bylaws that require a background check for essential services rendered by a caregiver that does not reside on the property.
These apartments are very nice! My friend lives here and I must say I am considering moving here as well. Last time I was over she was having her garbage disposal checked and a very nice maintenance guy by the name of Gabe (I believe thats his name) came by and had it working in a few minutes. He was very pleasant in his approach and that’s a huge plus, I wish we had people like that at my apartments.
Im going on my 3rd year here, and just now had occasion to read the old reviews! This place is awesome, and so is its staff. From maintenance to administration, the nicest, most courteous bunch of people Ive EVER encountered while leasing! And NO I am not a Waterside employee, just a very satisfied resident. One review made jaded remarks about how handicapped residents are treated by Waterside. Funny, Im 81, handicapped, use a walker, and find that nothing could be further from the truth! My unit, parking, the facilities, neighbors and the staff appeared to have been organized around ME! I will happily live here as long as Im able! Thanks Waterside for helping to make my life so nice!
Nice apartments. Lived here for more than 2 years. Management and maintenance staff are nice and friendly. We never had a problem here.
Waterside at Octillo nice peaceful apartment until a grumpy security guard comes and disturbes your night, Last night around 8:40 PM I was using the grill inside the pool area, I had my husband come in and help me out as he was walking our dog just in a few second the property security guard approches us and askes us to remove the dog from the pool area and we agreed to as we were trying to do as he said he came at us aggressively, his voice infliction and demeanor was insuing a confrontation and argument. we never disagreed with him on doing what asked to, he was very unprofessional just they way he approached and his tone of voice was not the way to handle the situation. It is uncomfortable since occurrence was with my kids around.
My wife and I are spending the winter at Waterside on a short term lease. We have enjoyed working with Ashely and her very professional staff. They helped us get all of our paperwork done online and when we got to the apartment they got us into the apartment we wanted in a flash. We love the view of the lake and the sunsets are magnificent. Our only dark thoughts are that we may not be able to get a short term lease next winter if they are 100% occupied. Here is hoping we get back to this great spot again.
Absolutely the worst apartments. Cars stolen, car break-ins, stolen packages, people yelling and screaming in the middle of the night and kids running around like packs of feral dogs. The apartments haven’t been updated since the early 2000’s. I don’t know how this is a “luxury” complex.A complete joke.
Waterside at Ocotillo is my home. I moved here in July and I truly feel at home here. I plan on saying here indefinitely. It is that amazing! The office manager Stephanie Rodriguez is completely professional and knowledgeable but also so warm, friendly and caring. She truly takes pride in keeping a clean, safe, fun complex for all the residents. Her assistant Kristen is so quick, efficient and also helpful and caring. The maintenance supervisor Gabe is so impressive!!!! He is the HARDEST worker!!! He doesnt have a lazy bone in his body and never stops working. He knows how to fix everything! And when he says he will take care of something, he does. His assistant Jason and I feel bad but I cant remember the other workers name, but they are wonderful too. They have two resort style inground pools that are heated so you can swim 365!!! They have functions/ get togethers and pizza/ food nights as well as little giveaways and parties. I HIGHLY recommend living here. It is a gated community and SAFE and extremely clean and so quiet at night. I love WATERSIDE AT OCOTILLO!!
Been here for over a year, and just resigned my lease. Overall had a great experience. I would like to see some interior upgrades, the countertop and appliances are a little outdated. But I have been enjoying my stay here!
We love living at Waterside! This is the third apartment complex we have lived in, and by far our favorite!-The staff is amazing. All of them. Our questions have always been answered right away and they are always friendly and professional-maintenance happens very fast. for us they showed up about 3 mins after our first call and had it fixed a few mins later (something with our ac) and the second time we called they came after a few hours to fix the lock on one of our bathrooms.-its quite but friendly-no scorpions or other bugs! but if you do want you place sprayed they can come once a week to do it, no additional cost.-their is a playground right next door to the complex, and a grocery store across the street-clean apartments, big balconies, full size washer and dryer
The pools here are so awesome our children love them
Staff is awsome. Been here 13 yrs. Desmond is nice and funny. Dwayne and Jason are nice and hilarious. Mario, known him for years, very sweet . Jackie is nice and helpful and understanding. Pretty much the staff here are Awsome. Sorry if I couldnt get the names of others, but I just couldnt remember the rest :) !!I had to write in response of a falsely accusation that was made. This is to the caregiver who wrote before me-1st and for most this community is managed by Mark-Taylor. I was here loooong before they took over the apt complex. This isnt an ACTUAL built Mark - Taylor top of the line apts you see that has been built by Mark-Taylor in other cities and communities. I find it hard to believe that Jackie would discriminate against a tenant with disabilities as to its illegal to do so under the fair housing act laws that are set in place. She doesnt have control over what the community complex was designed as it is. That was long before her time coming here.In the lease agreements in general, it does state that if you have special needs or accommodations they will work with you as follows. The parking lot itself, she cant just put a handicap sign up herself, its done through the city. Voicemails and emails saying she harrases the tenant, that made me laugh. She wouldnt do that either. Ive seen enough of your type of ppl complaining about something for nothing and to falsely make other ppl look bad. You could go to the Renaissance, they have PLENTY of handicap spots front row might I add.
The Short:Pros:- Pretty lake views- Dog park On premises- Nice surrounding neighborhoodCons:- Staff is incompetent and passive aggressive (was accused of yelling and hung up on, not true and I have recording of this call)- Staff is unable to read and understand their own ledgers- Corporate policies are maddening- Staff treats you poorly but expects you to treat them like the golden gods they are- Given the apartment in very poor condition, noted this in my move-in sheet- Police have been called to the apartment several times since I’ve been there for drug deals and drunken behavior- Gate is always broken- Exterior hallway lights rarely work- Very inefficient apartments in terms of heating and coolingAVOID!
This place is slowly getting ghetto I have a friend that lives there and people have no respect for others property. If you care about your vehicle stay away. It takes a month before maintenance fix anything in your apartment.
Pros:LakesCons:- Have put in multiple maintenance requests and they come and look and that’s that- Kitchen appliances and washing machines are outdated- Have to keep track on your lease and give a 60day notice because they won’t give you a notice when your lease is about up and you have to pay for another month- Hot tub is always downOverall it is a nice place to live because of the lake but pray you don’t have anything break around or in around your place. It won’t get fixed unless it is on their time
The reviews are obviously written by Ashley herself...
