This was a significantly great experience. My 5 year old son is Autistic and haircuts have always been a terrifying experience for him, and heartbreaking for myself, as we’ve been asked to leave salons in the past & dealt with inpatient and inconsiderate stylists.I initially went in for a consultation and proposed we could possibly break up his haircut into a few appointments, but the stylists were confident that they could complete it in one sitting, all while making my son as comfortable as they could… they even scheduled it during their lunch hour when the salon would be empty. It was quite successful and even got his hair washed! Huge accomplishment for him.These women are nothing short of wonderful and I’m immensely grateful for their efforts in turning a difficult task like this for Max, into a graceful and efficient experience.

Was able to squeeze in for a bang trim appointment last minute, which I appreciated. However, we ended up having to wait almost 15 minutes past our appointment time, so by the time the stylist got started my toddler was starting to get fussy and restless. The stylist made zero attempt to interact with my young toddler, who has stranger danger like any normal kid her age. The stylist was frustrated that my daughter was crying, and was rude to me and my husband for not being able to calm her. In the end, my daughter ended up with with a horribly uneven bang trim and now looks like she has a mullet. Next time I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes to go to Cookie Cutters where they made me and my kid feel much more welcome. The chairs were cool at least. And the girl at checkout gave her a shark toy and ballon at the end (though they probably should have tried that sooner.)

This was an excellent experience! Staff was all so friendly, great with kids and wearing masks. Our first hair cuts inside post pandemic and my girls had the best time sitting in the cars, getting their nails painted, and prizes and balloons after. Place was super clean. Thanks Sharkey’s staff for such a great experience!

Our child is medically complex, in a wheelchair, and we always feel welcome and comfortable there. I think almost every stylist has cut my sons hair and they are all patient, friendly, and do a decent job. We schedule with Chloe frequently and she is great. All the staff are so nice, especially one of the front desk girls, I cannot remember her name but she was working this morning (7/10). There are also handicap parking spots outside the building, for anyone who also uses a modified vehicle.Another note, we tried a different salon when we first moved here and they were uncomfortable doing edge ups or using clippers. Sharkeys has never once given us that problem.

We were a little bit late for our appointment, but they still fit us in. Chloe did a great job with my daughters first haircut. She talked to her to keep her engaged and didnt get frustrated when she kept moving her head. The cut was straight and even. Then, she got a manicure by another woman who was patient and really enjoyed talking to my daughter. They were so great and I will definitely be bringing her back for her next cut.

My son got a haircut at Sharkey’s for the first time and we are not impressed. The hair is cut unevenly and we constantly were asking to fix it during the session. after letting it settled in, it looks terrible. The stylist did not seem like she was interested to do much. He is a toddler so it’s natural for them to be a bit fussy. The lady at the front helped along the way. We ended up tipping even though we don’t feel like the actual stylist did anything much to earn it. She did not even clean up my son after the cut and handed a roller to my husband to clean up my son! Extremely disappointed and will not be returning!

My daughter did not want to cut her hair for 2 years but struggles with tangles pushed her over the edge.These ladies in here treated her like royalty! A true kids fun filled, creative imagination station.And they sang happy birthday since tomorrow is her birthday. Absolutely our FAVORITE kids hair cutting experts EVER!!!Thank you all!!! We just recently visited Sharkeys for the first time, and it was a great experience. My 2 year old daughter hates getting her haircut, but the staff was very welcoming and helpful in making her happy while she was getting her haircut. At first, she got upset, but then another employee came over and blew bubbles for my daughter for the rest of the haircut. This preoccupied my daughter, which has never happened before during a cut! Also, the lady who cut my daughters hair did a great job and took her time. She also made she we were satisfied with the cut. Overall, very satisfied with our first experience here.

Took my son in today (6/8/21) and had an AWESOME experience. Quick and very kid friendly staff, this was his first cut outside of the home so I thought it was going to be a much bigger ordeal than it was. They took great care of my 4 year old and were extremely attentive to his comfort while cutting his hair. Will be going back regularly!

Had our sons first haircut at Sharkey’s this past week on his first birthday. Chloe and the rest of the staff were super accommodating to my wife, my in-laws and I being there with our son. We were a bit nervous about how he would react, but the staff did a phenomenal job keeping him smiling and distracted. From start to finish, it was a phenomenal experience. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place. Great for kids!!! Well worth the price. Video games, movies, and awesome cars to sit in provided. Cant forget the balloon and great cut that bring us back continuously.

My daughter and I love this place and wont go anywhere else to get her haircut. Annaniyah cut her hair and did a great job. They always include a mani with their haircuts, which was done this time by the manager Cherese. She was also fantastic and so nice. They treated my daughter like a princes.. She loves the balloon and other treats that they hook her up with. Cant wait to come back!

My girls love Sharkeys. In addition to the haircut, they got a shampoo and style plus their nails painted. They got to pick a movie to watch while they were there and both women Jocelin and Justina were great! And they loved all the goodies at the end from balloons to pencils to lollipops. Get a haircut at Sharkey’s is a full experience!

I go in for my son to get a hair cut i spent 25 dollars for razor burn and tears the lady kept saying how she isnt using her equipment and that is why there is razor burns that is no excuse!!! And then on top of that she had to be taught how to shape hair!!! Ladies and gentlemen do not take your sons here!!! I guarantee the blades were not cleaned either

Great place for kids! Jocelin did a great job on my sons hair and he was so excited to get to play the game while it was done. My daughter also had her nails done and her hair braided another time and they were great!

My 2 year old has only ever gone here and if you have a child youre concerned will be scared this is the place to go. They go out of the way to make it a fun experience for them and they get a balloon, a sucker and a prize. Our stylist and the lady at the desk really connected with my son and eased his fears! Ill definitely be bringing him back!

My daughter had her first haircut at Sharkey’s today with Ananiyah. She did a great job and made her feel comfortable. After the haircut she got her picture taken to go with her certificate, her nails painted, and a few little goodies (all included with the hair cut). Everyone was very nice and professional. And, I was able to easily book an appointment online. We will definitely be back for her next haircut.

My 2 year old son does NOT like getting his hair cut (I learned from trying to cut it on my own) so I decided to take him to a professional. Ananiyah was my sons hair stylist and she was wonderful! She was so warm and friendly with my son, who gave her quite a challenge with the haircut. She did a great job and is highly recommended! All the staff there was great with my son and offered an amazing experience for our family. Highly recommend this place!

Initially when we walked in we were excited, but then when the receptionist spoke to the hairdresser about her next client was ready, the she looked mad and refused to stop cleaning up when the receptionist stated she will finish cleaning. the hairdresser appeared to what look like she was going to hit the lady with the broom but stopped and handed it to her. she walked in the back and then came back after a few minutes. she cut my childs hair and it wasnt blended liked i asked. she asked how it was, but after making 1 request to fix it, she still didnt do it, so i just gave up. i had to bring my son to a different place to get it fixed. more money i had to spend. The receptionists were very nice and helpful and even helped paint my daughters nails, the older lady who cut her hair was sweet and kind, but my daughters hair was also left uneven, and i had to pay to get it fixed up. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone with younger children, only kids 10 and up.

I took my son (16months) here for his first haircut and it was such an amazing experience. They have cars they can sit in or they can sit on your lap while they get their hair cut. My son cried a little at first so I had him sit on my lap. They were so patient with him. We had Chloe! She was so nice and did a great job cutting his hair. I even got my hair cut. And because it was our first time there, our cuts were free. We’re definitely going back there for our future cuts!

Heather and Justina and the receptionist (name slips my mind) did a wonderful job with my girls. Our location in Wake Forest didn’t reopen after COVID closures in the Spring, so we made a girls day to Cary and haircuts was on our list. They made our girls feels pampered and were very welcoming from the beginning. And more so when they found out we drove 40 minutes. They listened to the request I made about the girls hair cuts (one really curly and one super straight) and they were able to accommodate both. They were patient and kind with both my girls. Great experience! I know we can drive 40 minutes for a great experience, service, and haircuts! Thanks ladies!

Our 2 year old son had his first haircut with Flavia today and she was excellent! He has a head full of beautiful curls we didn’t want to lose and she listened and gave him a great cut. She trimmed it and cleaned it up without getting rid of his baby look :) She was quick and careful and there were no tears. Everyone was friendly and warm - a great experience all around :)

Called for a last minute appointment. Owner and the staff was very welcoming even though was cutting it close to closing time. When we arrived staff greeted us very warmly and my kids were treated so well, not rushed one bit or upset at us coming so near closing time! Fun experience. Good haircut! Great team! Under new ownership - absolutely can tell - for the better!

Our first visit to Sharkey’s and it was awesome! We saw Kristie and she did a phenomenal job! My son is 18 months old and the fire truck and Disney + were a hit! He was so entertained by everything around him and Kristie was so good with him. No tears, no fuss, just a great experience! They gave us a certificate for his first haircut, took a picture and printed it out for us, and gave him a toy shark, balloon, and lollipop to top off the already great experience! We will definitely be back!

Took both my grandchildren for haircuts. It was a wonderful fun experience for both of them. A surprise manicure and ring plus a braid with cute bows. Never expected so much attention. Both felt like royalty when they left. They have told me numerous times how much they want to go back there. They will for sure. Thank you ladies for making my grandchildren feel so special.!

Great experience with Jocelyn at this salon. She did a fantastic job with both my boys, keeping them calm and still throughout the service and ultimately gave each of them the best looking haircut they’ve had! The fire truck and jeep seats provided great entertainment during the service - so much so that the kids hardly looked at the cartoons on TV. They were delighted with their toy sharks and balloon gifts at the end of what was a very pleasant experience for both mom and babies!! We will definitely be making this our regular go-to spot.

I could not even make it through the phone call to set up an appointment for my daughter. The woman who answered the phone was so incredibly rude and short tempered. I wanted my daughters first haircut to be a fun experience which is why I chose this place, but I would rather the staff match the atmosphere. No need for the attitude.

I’ve taken my son to Sharkys several times, honestly it’s hot or miss but he likes the kid friendly atmosphere. Once before I had to go back to have them fix the poor haircut. This time, my husband took him and it was horrific. He ended up with a jagged bowl cut and a rat tail (long skinny section missing in the back). We were just looking for a trim around the ears and a fade. Tenee was the “stylist” who cut his hair. I’ve gone elsewhere to have it corrected - we won’t be back to Sharkys.

Heather cut my boys hair again! She is so good about listening with what I wanted. My oldest wasnt comfortable with the buzzer so she did some without. The team is great there.

I was heartbroken to get my 23 month old twins boys haircuts but I knew it was time. I’m so glad I took them here. The girls working here are great with children and they knew just what to do to help distract them while they got their hair cut. They were very experienced in dealing with squirmy children. They had cool chairs that my boys loved, and they had TVs everywhere, and balloons and bubbles. They looked adorable with their haircuts and they had such a good time that they cried when we left. It was a really great experience and we will be back!

I cant say enough about Sharkeys Cuts for Kids in Cary! Impeccable service from the moment we walked in the door this afternoon to 8:30 tonight when the owner hand delivered the pictures they took of our 2 year old birthday boy getting his first haircut, because the printer was down today at their store. Our son hates to sit still and does not like strangers all that much but their team was amazing at keeping him happy and entertained while he got his adorable cut! Im just amazed at their level of customer service from the woman working the counter, the hair stylist, woman blowing bubbles for him, and the owner that we never met. This place will be cutting our boys hair for a very long time!!

The staff here are fantastic! I brought my twin nephews (2 years old) in. This was their first time getting a haircut at a place verses family members attempting to cut their hair. Their hair was very long and uneven. We had some tangled hair and knots with food that lead to us bringing them in. We were greeted by a very kind staff who spoke softly to my nephews. The staff was so patient with them and so friendly. The boys did not want to sit so they ended up standing and hugging on us while Heather and Ananiyah worked around us. Being in a new place with new people can be intimidating for my nephews so they were upset.Other staff members interacted with bubbles, lollipops, tv shows and balloons to help keep the boys calm enough to stand still during the appointment. The cuts look great! All and all it was a great experience for my nephews to show that getting a haircut can be fun and is not a scary thing.We loved the certificate that was given to us with a picture and a little bag with a snip of their hair! We appreciate the staff and owner for the experience and will bring them back again when they need another cut!

Highly recommend, specifically Ananiyah. She was so patient, kind, and gentle with my 3-year old son. Though my son was not as cooperative as we would have preferred, Ananiyah was able to complete a quick and beautiful cut. She is very experienced and I look forward to building a relationship with her in the future. This was the first time at Sharkey’s and all the staff was accommodating and understanding.

Our 2 kids (boy and girl) just had the best experience getting their haircut at Sharkey’s! Everyone working was so kind from start to finish. They squeezed us in for a last appointment, were so kind and patient with the kids who enjoyed playing video games and sitting in fun seats, helped to entertain our 1.5 year old while she waited for her siblings to finish, and our daughter’s haircut included a surprise manicure!! Not to mention, they were very COVID safe! We could not recommend Sharkey’s more and will only be getting our kids’ haircut here going forward!

Justina did a fantastic job. My daughter has been growing her hair for over a year to donate and was a little nervous about getting her haircut. Everyone at the salon was so friendly and helpful. My daughter loved her haircut and was very excited afterwards. She loved all of the TVs and entertainment. They did a great job cleaning up and I felt very comfortable with their Covid clean up and policy.

Brought in my two daughters, one of whom was beyond excited and the other was very apprehensive. All of the ladies were very welcoming and helped to put them at ease. None of them were pushy and after getting her nails painted she was ready for her haircut. Both stylists sang Frozen songs with her and made her feel like she was a princess. Both girls walked out with cute haircuts and huge smiles. We will for sure be going back to Sharkey’s in the future!

My son (1.5 year old) had his first cut at Sharkey’s. His stylist was super patient and calming. I went in thinking he would cry the whole time and because she was so great not a tear was shed. We have been going to this location since it opened. We went today and it is under new ownership. The owner introduced himself and was very nice. It was very clean and they were taking all the necessary precautions from covid. I love that their including a wash with haircuts now. My son loved getting his hair washed after his cut and said it was his favorite part😁 definitely recommend! Its a very nice and fun atmosphere.

We visited Sharkey’s cuts for Kids today for a trim. From the moment we stepped inside all the staff welcomed us. They took both our temps and had us use hand sanitizer. All the staff wore masks to keep everyone safe. Chloe did a wonderful job with giving my 10 year old a beautiful cut and then styled with a braid and hair clip. Then Alexis painted her nails with the color of her choice and gave her a ring to match her nails. Everyone was so very sweet and made an ordinary Tuesday extra special for my daughter. She also left with a balloon and a lollipop. She can’t wait to return for her next cut. So much fun!!!

I took my two kids to Sharkey’s and had the best experience! My 4 year old daughter was very hesitant on going to get her haircut and walked out happy as can be! She was pampered the whole time with a haircut, braid and nail polish while in a Frozen car. My 2 year old son was entertained in a fire truck while watching Mickey. The staff gave them treats when they were finished. The staff was kind, patient, and very friendly. I was also very impressed with the precautions they were taking for COVID. We would highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

We’ve taken our boy here so far from ages 2-4 y/o. Selena is the one who cuts his hair and she’s excellent. They’re very kid friendly and take great care to make sure your child feels comfortable. They have different chairs like fire trucks and jeeps to pick from too.

I was appalled at the experience we had at this location. I took my daughter to get a simple cut. It took the very inexperienced stylist an HOUR to cut 2 inches off her hair. When she was done, her hair was horribly uneven. Another stylist stepped in to “even” out the cut. I fixed the haircut when we got home. Don’t take your kids to this location.

I cant say enough good things about Sharkeys. My son is 3. Until yesterday, he hated a haircut more than going to the Doctor. The first thing out of his mouth when we left was, I like this place, Daddy. When can we come back? Justina was fantastic! We will certainly be back.

My kids loved it from sitting in the cars to playing the games while getting thier hair cut. For my little girl they even painted her nails. They were so professional and kept the kids happy the whole time! We will be bringing the kids back for sure.

This place was great. I was able to get a Same day appointment. My daughter got to pick the car she wanted to sit in. Our Stylist Chloe was super patient with my 2 year olds first haircut. I noticed the other stations had TVs set up and gaming systems for other distractions during cuts but my daughter was happy with her Elsa Car that played Frozen music.As we left another young lady, I hate I didn’t get her name, was sooooo nice. She paidmy daughter so much attention. Gave her a sucker, bows for her hair, a balloon and a light up ring! My kid felt like a rock star when she left. I will definitely be back in the future. Totally worth the 30 minute drive from Angier!

My daughter and I brought my 11 month old grandson for his first haircut. I was so nervous in how he would do See was the one that cut his hair. She was wonderful. He didnt cry until the clippers were turned on. I love this place.

The woman cut my son hair way to short didn’t listen to anything I said messed up his side burns and also cut up his neck! She also cut the back of his hair like it was a shape of a bowl? Never again then got upset Everytime he would move? Seriously

Sad to have to change my previous 5 star rating. My son had his first haircut here, he’s 5 now...we never had an issue walking in for a cut in the past...Lately, 5 out of the last 6 times I’ve tried to come to be exact, we’ve been unable to get a walk-in or regular same day appointment. That doesn’t even count the times I have absentmindedly tried to come on a Monday! My son LOVED getting his hair cut here and the stylists were always wonderful especially Tasha, who’s cuts were always exceptional! The front desk folks do need a bit of experience in customer service, but they’re young, so I take that with a grain of salt. Today was another day of rushing around with errands and I understand that it is back to school and that since I did not have an appointment, that I would have to wait. But it really stinks when I have to console my child EVERY time we try to come in because there are only a couple stylists and there are no available spots. One stylist was kind enough to stay late to accommodate a large family that walked in at the same time as us, who otherwise we’re about to be turned away as well.Needless to say my son bawled all the way to another barber.I come here for HIM, not the convenience, not to pay almost twice as much, or even the hair cut, which is iffy depending on which stylist you get, but when he gets upset because he WANTS to go and can’t it’s heartbreaking. Send out letters when you hire some more folks to meet the demands of your business stop turning business away, and fill the 4 other chairs with happy kiddos 😞In the meantime, sadly, I guess it’s time to start bringing him in to a “big boy” barber. (Who were twice as busy today and still managed to get us in with a 15 minute wait, closer to our home, a higher star rating, half as expensive and frankly a better haircut).

This place is so good to take your kids to for a haircut because they enjoy it so much. Its bright, colorful, and cheerful. Everything is arranged to appeal to children, so my kids really enjoy going there. They can sit in play card while they get their haircut, so theyre distracted and comfortable. There are also video games, balloons, dress up clothes, and a fingernail painting station. Unfortunately, this last time, my childrens cuts were a bit crooked.

I love how experienced the staff is with children who scream and squirm the entire time. I do my best to hold my son still but its hard and the staff is quick with his hair and they do a great job even though he doesnt hold wriggles! They also have many ways they try to distract him. I like that everyone there works together to help make a scared child comfortable.

Great place to go for a toddler! Everyone is so nice and welcoming! Stylists are quick and professional!

What a great concept. My son wouldn’t let us cut his hair but he loves this place. Phenomenal staff to match and reasonable prices.

We love Sharkeys in Cary. My son has been getting his hair cut at this location since the age of 1. Everyone is very friendly and patient. My son loves sitting in the racecars, firetrucks and police cars. They have TV and video games to distract the kids - which works wonders! Tasha was so kind and patient; she talked to my son and explained what was happening while she was cutting his hair. They are very accommodating and let my son sit on my lap to get his haircut when he was nervous. They have balloons and little plastic shark toys :)

The ladies here are very good with kids. There are TVs, video games, and fun car chairs for the kids to get their cuts in. Afterwards, they get balloons and lollipops. It does cost a little more than a regular strip mall hair salon ($20 for each of my boys) but the experience is worth it. They cant wait to go get haircuts. One of my sons fell asleep during his cut and the lady still did a perfect job while being careful to support his head and not wake him up. You cant ask for better.

This is the place to go when your child has anxiety about hair cuts. The staff were friendly and very child focused. There are TVs and fun cars that the kids can sit in to provide a distraction. The entire haircut is fast (which is a recognition that the kids will lose interest and patience quickly). At the end they provide balloons, a picture and a small toy to commemorate the process.

Totally mediocre cut in less than five minutes! My granddsons hair looked hacked. I wont see that $20 + tip again.We took our granddaughter just three doors down on the same row, where she got great patience and a great cut for half the price.
