Vehicle was as expected. Process to get in vehicle was quick. Reason for 4 stars: right electric sliding door had an issue indicating open when closed unless switched to manual and slammed closed. SUV was offer as replacement but could not fit our luggage in it, so we kept the van. Door issue was annoying during the week, but van did fine. Vehicle seat had several stains. Was happy they honored the reservation rate, specially since current rates were like 120% higher since the reservation date. Return was super easy at the Airport. Staff was great and final bill was explained.

Our car smelled of soiled clothing, it was not cleaned! There was sneaker marks all over the door and dash as if they didn’t even bother to wipe down the car or sanitize it! and not to mention the car was all beat up, Dents and scratches!!

We rented a car in Puerto Rico. The pick up and drop off were seamless. Very little wait time for the pick up. Very friendly service. Drop off was super super easy and quick, which was appreciated when needing to get to the airport to catch a flight. Again, service was friendly and kind.We booked through Costco and Alamo had the best prices.Our car was clean and as promised and there were plenty in the category to choose from, even though there is a rental/ car shortage at this time.Would definitely use Costco and Alamo again!

I rented from the Puerto Rico airport. The process of getting and returning the rental was seamless. My issue is I had a fender bender from behind not my fault going to pick up at the airport. I took pictures of both vehicles and of the other persons paperwork. So I stopped by the rental office to give them heads up. The manager was very flirtatious immediately. Once I told him what happened he asked if I paid by credit or debit. I said debit. He shook his head in disappointment and advised I will owe them a deductible of $200. I immediately told him “no I don’t”! It was the other persons fault and I have all the information and will be making a police report as soon as I get back. His flirtatiousness subsided and says “well it says in small print in the bottom of your agreement $500, but I will charge $200”. That raised a red flag. I then went back and forth with him. Told him I refuse to pay a deductible if the persons car ins will pay all damages. He finished by saying he was going to notate the act of $200 due when I return it. I watched him type it in. However he didn’t type why. Just that I owe $200. I made it clear to him I will not pay that fee and will fight it tooth and nail and walked away. I did make a police report with the other driver and called the rental place with all the information. Needless to say-I was never charged the additional fee. But it felt like he was trying to take advantage of me because I was a female.

I have a very good experience with Alamo rental, they process the paper work quick and the persons at the counter were very nice people they gave me some advise and also got a nice ride, a nice SUV, so I see you again when I visit Puerto Rico, Thanks, Jose Cintron.

I was greeted with an UPGRADE. Great way to start my vacation. I reserved a full size vehicle and I ended up with a mid-size SUV, which is the type of vehicle I drive everyday. And when it was time to return the car, it was very fast and efficient. Very happy with this company and its service.

I very impressed with the service @ this location. Staff is very friendly, quick check in and very quick check out. Located right inside the airport and within walking distance from the terminal. I had rented with them already 6 times in the last 12 months. My Mother passed away in February 2021, I needed the car additional two weeks and they accommodated me with no problem during my difficult time. Thank you Álamo the great service.

Reservations were made ahead of time. Arrived at airport pickup around 12:30, no line. Out within 15 minutes. Return was just as easy. Car was clean and ready to go. Was given a choice of mid-SUV. Nice!

I hav a compact reserved in Puerto Rico. Upon arriving at the airport rental car hub in PR, it was unorganized with a young lady trying to keep order and allow people to enter the center on a first come first serve basis. That did not happen! After watching about 10 people walk right by her while she was addressing others questions, I decided to make a run for it myself, which worked. I got in, was offered upgrades, but declined. I was sent upstairs to find a better system with Alamo helping individuals find their cars, problem was I didn’t have one. A young lady said she was upgrading me and pointed to a car sitting by itself in the center of a big parking lot. There had to be a reason this car was by itself, and there was. It had been banged up pretty good and even had a hole in the door where someone had hit it. Later I found a hole in one of the sidewalls in a tire, but it was still holding air. When I pay a higher price from a larger company, I expect quality in the form of service and a quality product. The trip was great from airlines to hotels, but The rental car was disappointing.

Absolutely great staff. From over the phone, to the woman that greeted us at the airport, to the managment during pick up and drop off of the car they were great!!Customer service is very important and their consistent delivery of it made me really appericate renting from them.If any of you from the Alamo rental of San Juan aka Luis Munoz Marin airport get to see this I just want to say thank you again :)

We rented a van this trip because families with babies were joining us. Rental pickup and return was very easy.The best thing I can say derived from a problem. On the way to our vacation spot, I noticed the low tire pressure came on. By morning, the tire was completely flat. I found out that on Puerto Rico, Alamo has a contract with Pep Boys. There is a Pep Boys just down the road from our location. All I needed to do was take the car there and they repaired (in this case, replaced) the tire. It was great and I didnt have to hassle with taking the car back to the airport location and go through exchanging the car for another.

My experience renting with Alamo was great, everything went smoothly. I was in and out in under 10 mins. Front desk staff was amazing, very professional and courteous. The return also went smoothly. Overall I had a great experience, and I’ll definitely rent from them again.

We arrived at SJU at 1130 pm, and had to wait an hour for the 3 car seats we had reserved way in advance of our arrival. I am not even sure where did they come from. One of them, for a baby, had a discolored cover, and straps that were not able to securely hold our granddaughter. We will be willing to pay more next time using a different car rental company if we can get the quality service we get at home. Not sure why the American rental companies work with such lack of professionalism in Puerto Rico in comparison to the states.

Picking up and dropping off vehicle was fairly easy. Only issues were, when it rained the wipers or the windshield left streaks so it was hard to see especially at night. Also the high beams did not work. Other then that everything was fine. Very clean, car ran well.

The rental process was nice and easy, all my questions were answered. All the employees i have contact were polite and friendly. Definitely will rent again from Alamo.

Booked an SUV through their app for our trip to Puerto Rico. The rental place was located right at the airport. Check in was quick and easy. Went up one floor to where the cars were located and there they gave us an option to choose a Toyota Highlander or a Jeep Wrangler. We of course went with the Wrangler and it was excellent. The only issue we had was with the key fob not always working. It worked sometimes and others we had to actually use the key to lock which was a little bit of a pain because it always set the alarm off. When we returned the car to the airport, the signs sent us quickly and easily to car drop off. The employee met us, reviewed the car and we mentioned about the key fob so he could address it for the next person and he went ahead and credited us a day. Excellent customer service all around! Will absolutely use them again in the future. They were a little higher priced being located right at the airport then some of the local smaller places off site, but it’s completely worth it not to have to schedule a pick up shuttle or Uber to another car rental place off site.

Check-in and return were both super quick and easy! A little more expensive than other companies, but the customer service made it worth it. Also, they were out of economy cars when I had to pick my vehicle, so I got an automatic upgrade and loved the car I had for the week!

Had excellent service and a great vehicle at a super affordable rate! We even picked up 6.5 hours early and dropped off 3 hours late due to flight changes for only an extra $100! Was super impressed!

I rented a car while vacationing in Puerto Rico for two weeks. I rented the car from the airport and the lady at the counter was friendly and offered me an upgrade for an extra fee because the size that I rented did not have a trunk big enough. Overall I had a great experience.

Service in San Juan was fine, drop off was particularly efficient. Two stars down, why? The toll policy, tolls in Puerto Rico are cheap, put in a transponder and we can pay them fairly, but piling on the service charges? cmon. its expensive enough, sucking another 4 bucks a day is just annoying. Its not the cost, its the principality of the issue.

Great experience with our rental during a busy Easter weekend. We were very concerned as our flight arrived at midnight and we have had issues with other companies before at those hours. Fortunately Alamo was very prepared and the process was quick and easy. Return was a cinch. Thank you Alamo for helping to make my trip stress free!!

Car was available at the time of arrival. All the employees were very cordial and helpful. My only concern was about the car. This car has approximately 11,000 miles. It has dents, scratches all over the car. In addition it was extremely dirty. I understand that this is a rental vehicle but I believe they can do a better job than that like they had in the past.

For the amount it cost me over two weeks, I am starting to wonder if I should have just bought a used car once I got to my destination. Update: Alamo asked me for more information about my experience, then sent me a generic, cut-and-paste response that showed no interest in my concern. Update 2: Another email, more of the same. Not really concerned, but checking a box to say they responded.

Overall I had a great experience with Alamo. Making the reservation, check-in and check-out were very smooth. No issues at all. Dealing with Alamo was easy. The staff in Purto Rico was helpful, nice and courteous. The car -Mitsubishi Outlander- was in excellent condition, drove well and had no issues. The 4-Star rating is due to the car being rented to a smoker before. That’s the only downside. I probably should have requested a car swap, but I wanted to get going. Nonetheless a car with smoke odor should not be available for rent to non-smokers. I had to buy Febreeze to eliminate the Odor. Also, for the price the car should have had Car Play. These days this feature should be a must have. The charges were as expected (car rental + tolls). In general good experience with Alamo.

I wouldve thought that having an accelerated meant shorter waiting line at the counter, aside from that, the service and vehicle we had was absolutely great.

The car rental was fine. I booked it using my Costco membership, so I got the discount and the unlimited miles; overall, it was fine. I did the rental in San Juan, Puerto Rico airport. The rental was clean; however, the windshield, side mirrors, and windows had water stains, and it wasnt easy to see. I would recommend to Alamo to add extra attention to this concern. Yes, I will rent back from them.

Checkout process was easy enough, corporate and their policy states if you have a return ticket proof when you use a debit card you do not need to put down additional deposit, however they charged the deposit anyways. Car only has has 10,000 miles and is beat up with dents, scratches, paint damage. It was not cleaned inside or out and smells horrid. They even said they would give our car reservation away even though we called to let them know they were delaying our flight only by about 15 minutes. I’m glad we got a vehicle, but for the price this car and experience was absolutely horrible. We were sure to let them know about damage, smell, and seatbelt issues before we left since they don’t inspect the car at all with you. Also took pictures and videos to be on the safe side.

Rented a car in Puerto Rico for a week. The whole process of checking in until you got to your rental was smooth and efficient. The return of the rental was just as smooth and efficient. Alamo does not disappoint. It is the reason it’s my #1 rental company anytime I travel.

I have used Alamo from over 30 years now. And will use Alamo in the future. The people at the front desk are excellent. And the car they gave me was very good.But the only thing I had a problem with the car was that it was not clean very well. There was some used dental hygiene products left in the car. I told the guy at the drop off center. And he told me as long as the car drives find dont worry.

Worst experience, I received my first car and it smelled. Then I called in and they gave me the run around finally I was told to go back in to the San Juan PR Airport location they reserved a car for me. I go the next day an nope no car. The guy that swapped my car was so freaking rude like I was bothering him . He gave me a car that was just turned it an they did not take the time to clean it. I cleaned it. Horrible experience I will never rent again!

Super easy to get in and get out w your car. Second time I’ve rented from SJU Alamo. Never waited in line for anything. Even return is the easiest thing ever. Pull in, grab your stuff and go. Had actually made a reservation through another site this time for another company w free cancellation. Checked Alamo just for the heck of it before going for other car and it was $176 cheaper than what I rented and WAY cheaper than what had been previously advertised. I was super happy I got the company I wanted, AT the airport and saved almost $200 right off the bat. I recommend signing up for “Alamo insiders” and downloading the app. Better deals. The guy at counter said he couldn’t have matched the deal I got without the loyalty program. Enjoy your trip!

The car windows were so dirty we could barely see out during our driving at night. They were dirty on the inside. We had to stop and by Windex for our safety. The windshield wiper fluid also ran out during our rental. Also, I know it was rented in Puerto Rico, but there were so many cockroaches I could barely stand it. Every time you opened the door, they scattered. I was so grossed out the entire trip when we had to get in the car. Will not rent again.

Other than that the car needed a oil change and we had to wasted one day of our vacation just waiting for another car everything else was great i call they send me a new jeep plus some of the money back the return was easy ppl was great in person and in the phone definitely will be using Alamo again

Check in and check out was good. Although I believe I ended up being charged more than I should have been. We had car trouble while we were on our vacation and were initially asked to bring our vehicle back rather than sending someone to help us. Once we convinced them they needed to send someone to us...I had to make 4 additional phone calls to actually get the service we needed! Each time sitting on hold. The problem they kept telling me is that they couldnt send someone out to help me because my date of birth on the reservation was incorrect!!!!! I finally reached a reasonable person who agreed that my date of birth on the reservation should NOT affect whether or not they could send someone to help us. It was ridiculous and VERY frustrating! I was thankful to finally talk to someone who understood how to provide customer service. Also, our flight was changed by the airline so we ended up needing the vehicle about another 12 hours than originally planned but still within the weeklong reservation. I received a call from someone telling me they would charge me an extra day even though I was still within the timeframe of my rental period. The person was not willing to budge on this but once I actually returned the vehicle the person who checked me back in said I was still within my rental period and there would be no extra charge! Need to work on customer service with the people on the phones.

Easy rental process as well as car selection. I’m giving only 4 stars because the check in process was not great. There were 2 kiosks at SJU airport but neither were working so we had to stand in a very long line where only 1 agent was working. None of the other rental agencies had lines (could be due to pricing since Alamo was the lowest priced when we reserved but not sure). A 2nd agent finally came but it was a while, probably stood in line about 45 mins.

Easy to rent online and fast pick up. I was confused when I went to pick up my rental vehicle from the line and a lady was sitting inside. I guess that national shares the same vehicles and she choose any vehicle from the lot. That slows me a little because I have to choose another vehicle and redo the paperwork. The need to have control of the vehicles and verify that someone may already got that vehicle. Other than that, the vehicle was clean and sanitize. The vehicle was new and exciting.

On top of being provided with a completely different vehicle than I rented/ had pre-paid for, I was provided with a filthy smoke smelling go cart. They then forgot my car seat and when provided with one was given a filthy stained car seat that I had to wash at my destination. exactly what I wanted to do when I went on vacation- wash a car and a car seat. In a time of a global pandemic this company should be ashamed of themselves. Disgusting!

We got the vehicle and not even a day and it started giving me problems with the tires loosing air and the van smelling like burnt from the brakes. There was time where the vehicle will start acting like ifIt was going to shut off.

Very disappointed with our rental .... we rented a mini van ( they only had kia ) which we did not mind the brand. However there were only 2 available and both were involved in accidents (body damage). I understand they dont need to be perfect but they were old model as well. The inside of both were soooo dirty and under the circumstances ( covid ) they could have had the vehicle spotless at least. We did report it but like I said they had nothing else available and we needed a van for the amount of people that were traveling .

This time i was a bit disappointed..we paid 1196.00 for a pick up truck .red tundra.For only 9 days..they give us the car dirty inside..front seats and back...for the price we paid we would expect a clean car like the past time...not happy this time with alamo

Car appeared cleaned and sanitized but there was a very visible cookie crumb in the middle console that made me question how detailed the cleaning and sanitizing was. Someone must have brought the car around during their snack time lol. We Lysol’d everything down ourselves anyway. Great service at the front desk, bit of a wait due to Covid restrictions but that’s expected at this point. We had to wait outside in the light rain due to social distancing before entering the building. It was about 6 people who could come in at a time to the Alamo line. Since National’s rental line was shorter, the attendants helped the Alamo line mover faster by servicing guests. Once inside the staff were quick and friendly and the people in the lot were phenomenal. Overall easy process. Covid still impacting some things so just be patient and open minded about those changes.
