My mother passed away three years ago and my family and I moved in to take care of my father. Hes lived there for a total of 7 years now. My father is an elderly antiquated man that has never complained even when there was certainly justification to. Even through bedbugs, no hot water, and irregularities in rent collection, as described by the other reviewers complaints. Well... the last straw, in my opinion, finally happened the other day. For context, you should know that, my sister recently bought him a new truck in gratitude for him always being dependable and there for us. Rather than use it instead of his old work truck, as is his way, he lent it to my brother who visits us ocassionally. As youd imagine, during one of my brothers visits, my father had his reservations about leaving it in visitor parking, so he swapped the tags out and let the new truck stay in resident parking where its clearly visible and illuminated. However, he forgot to swap the tags back and a day later they towed his old work truck that has sat in that parking lot undisturbed for 7 years. It was his mistake and he knows it...he paid the $172.50 even though i reasoned with him that the tow truck company obviously knows that my father lives there. Independently, I called the apartments office to voice my frustration, as respectably as I write this message now. I wasnt expecting much if anything at all, perhaps a discount at most or a call to the tow truck company to let them know that my father is a loyal tenant as to avoid the same problem in the future, at least. I was incredulous at the dismissive lack of empathy or sympathy by a certain member of their staff. In closing, I can confirm four of the following complaints you read here and will be seeking new living arrangements for us as soon as possible. I only ask the staff personally: What good is a house or a home if you dont feel safe or appreciated in either?

My parking pass was stolen out of my car and then when I went to the office they had no sympathy for me and they said that I would still have to pay another $50 to replace the one that was stolen out of my car. That’s so ghetto like I live here & every night I have to move my car to gas parking. Another thing ROACHES, ROACHES & MORE ROACHES. I moved in this apartment building in October I didn’t start seeing them till a month later when it started to get cold. I call at least once a month because of this issue it’s so embarrassing I don’t even want to have company over towards the night time because that’s when they seem to come out. I lived in Naperville before this and never even you with a roach was before this experience

Do not rent here! I would give it zero stars if I could. Managers Kerry and Janet don’t care about residents they are rude and confrontational if you have an issue. The apartments are dirty and infested with roaches and bed bugs. I’m glad we are out of there and don’t recommend to my worst enemy. Owners need to look more into the people they hire to represent their company.

This is a horrible excuse for an establishment. The management here is so unprofessional it’s sickening. The fact that everyone there besides Julie lack compassion and just overall people skills is beyond me especially seeing as how the rent is super high and the service is so poor. I had high hopes coming into my lease but I’ve been terribly let down and I can’t wait to be out of here. If you’re looking for longevity this is NOT the complex you want to move into.

It has its drawbacks just like any other complex but overall, pretty decent. The maintenance crew is great and the office ladies are super sweet. Theyre working diligently to improve the buildings and always willing to work with you.

The office staff and the maintenance team are hard working and listen to the needs of everyone. I especially am happy that the pot holes are filled and the parking lot looks so much better now that it has been repaved. I highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone! :-)

The office staff is so great, really helpful. The maintenance team comes out within 24-48 hours. I read these bad reviews and i feel like its just some people whore angry all the time. But theres so many residents who love it here and its been their home for so many years. I know i do!

DO NOT RENT AT THIS COMPLEX. You will be dealing with SLUMlords who are only after your money. I have been living at this complex for 7 years, rent increases every year, maintenance never fixes anything, READ EVERY SINGLE WORD OF YOUR LEASE IT CONTRADICTS ITSELF IN A WAY THAT NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO YOU WILL BE CHARGE AN ARM AND LEG FOR EVERY SINGLE THING. I HAD TO THROW OUT ALL OF MY FURNITURE DUE TO BEDBUGS, I LEFT THE LAST APARTMENT I RENTED WHICH WAS A ONE BEDROOM BECAUSE IT WAS INFESTED WITH ROACHES NOW MY CURRENT BUILDING IS INFESTED WITH BEDBUGS! KEEP YOUR MONEY AND YOUR SANITY AND KEEP LOOKING! NOT WORTH A SINGLE DIME FOR YOUR MONEY

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. I applied here not too long ago and I received an email from Julie who asked for my two most recent pay stub, which I provided. She then gave me a call later that day explaining she received my pay stubs and she will be sending me a welcome email the following day with the breakdown on everything I would need for move in. The next day I did not receive any email. I reached out to her asking if I was denied, and she said she will be sending the welcome email the next day since she was out of the office that day. Next day comes around and I still dont receive the email, she did however send me an email asking about my income, which she previously looked over already. She stated that in order to qualify I need to make 3c the rent, which I was only off by a few hundred. So I then asked if I would be able to have my mother apply with my application since s is on ssi and makes more than enough to qualify. She said that would be fine and to have her apply. So I spent another 150 on an application, just to get a call back today from Julie stating Im sorry, I just started working here not too long ago so I wasnt aware that if you have a cosigner, they actually need to make 4x the rent, not 3 so Im having the money refunded to you, Im sorry all of this could have been avoided if Julie was aware on the policies and how to do her job, instead of telling me many different things within a few days . Do not lease here.

IveI been living in St Charles Square apartment for three years and I can honestly say they at great. They are always on call they are always on call quick to fix things tlheir employee are awesome. Their kind respectfully and good at at what they do. I would recommend this place to everyone.

My wife and I have lived here 5 months, and its been good so far. The walls seem thick so it is nice and quiet in our unit. The parking lot had a lot of pot holes when we moved in but its just been repaved.

Terrible place to live I’ve been here almost two years can’t wait until my lease is up in November! Roaches are a HUGE problem and the office does nothing about it, they don’t come exterminate unless you call. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! Within the past two months 5 people have moved out of my building and I can’t wait to be next! Horrible office staff rude and very inconsiderate

Weve been living here for 9 years now and we couldnt be happier. Since the new manager took over, we have seen many improvements. The staff and maintenance team were friendly and do a wonderful job. Whenever we need some minor repairs they come and fix it right away. I just have one suggestion for them if they could add exercise equipment in their fitness room. It is small and you have to wait until someone is done using the equipment. But overall, I would recommend this apartment complex.

They didnt provide any invoice or receipts for my security deposit and just took my money after I left. When I called, I was then given several different sets of itemized fees. Once they finally decided what I owed, they gave me photos to show it, and the photos just demonstrated how clean certain items were. My carpet still had vacuum marks from when I vacuumed before I left and yet they required a steam cleaning fee. That was not in my contract.They probably do this to everyone and hope you wont notice or bother to inquire about the fees. So yeah dont stay here

Be prepared to sue after you fall in the parking lot. I fell almost three years ago due to a broken water main.Management didnt post anything about it and didnt even cordon off. Their insurance came out admit they were at fault and were liable for my medical bills.I ended up suing them along others . This pot hole infested place is going to others get injured. Also they are not in compliance with ADA.Save yourself the aggravation and money rent elsewhere

I have been living in these apartments for a very long time, and they have been going down hill for a long time. Management is changed so often thats its hard to keep track whos in charge. They dont care about residents and spend money on non essential things. The changed the whole fence for a new one, yet cannot tackle the problem of no warm water for days. You can contact them and complain yet they still will not fix the problems. The stairs and walls are extremely dirty and there are spiders living almost everywhere. Ive had multiple neighbors that have done drugs, or other crime related activity. I contacted the management, and yet they said Call us right while someone is doing it. The issue was not solved and I have been getting more and more upset with the management. Overall id say dont come here, keep your money, its not worth a single penny to live here.

They fixed the water valve to turn on water in the tub as well as a dripping pipe under the sink all in under an hour and they were on their way. No issues with college students or first time renters without prior history if inquiring. Have lived here two years and its a very pleasant community. Only thing to complain about is they tend to not check in if there are multiple tenants (or several kids under one apartment) so our last few neighbors have been noisy. As long as you can come up with the deposit and make your payments they work with you. Call ahead and explain whats happening BEFORE the rent is DUE and theyll give you an extra 5 days to come up with it. They try to work with you if you do the same.

It is a nasty place to live. started out ok but as the years have gone by it has really gone down hill. the emergency lights were broken off the sign by kids playing soccer in the hallways this past winter. it has been this way since 2/15/14.told management 3 times and nothing has been done. the kids run wild in the hallways and trash it just about every day. there is no parental supervision at all. management does nothing about this either. the building smells like cigarette smoke from people smoking in their apartments. it has turned into the worst place i have ever lived. am moving as soon as i can. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

Have been harassed by my neighbor directly beneath me for a course of 7 months the leasing office is making me move besides the fact i have several police reports on my neighbor they are also siding with my neighbor when ive been harassed months on end this is not a safe place to bring children due to the neighbor that records & takes pictures of any guest entering the buildings theres been plenty of proof to show im being harassed by this lady there have been zero action taken towards her only towards me even after she posted a picture of me & my company on their st charles apartment Facebook page its very disturbing that they continue to let this women dictate my life its sick to be honest im going to get my lawyer involved in this situation long story short do not move here bias ppl & very disrespectful management & neighbors not a place for a regular person also weed & drugsarebeing sold & done in the buildings smell like weed parking lot is full of huge pot holes they refuse to fix anything here walls are thin as well shower gets very hot in the midst of shower

New management and staff since Sept-ish! They are SOO much better than the last... very understanding and helpful:) !!

Currently living here bad place bad influences neighbor noisy bugs and roaches hallways smell like smoke goes inside your apartment, you smell pot(illegal drugs) if i can post a picture of used cigar with pot on it left on the hallway stairs ill post it!... just out of control and new or old management still the same thing they dont do nothing!!! you see every month people come and go to this place!!

WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX EVER - DO NOT MOVE HERE. When we moved in our stove, and oven didnt work. Our shower broke a week after moving in, then the first time it rained there was a flood in our apartment. Took maintenance almost a week to come fix it. Also, they tried to change their pet policy after we had been living there with pets for months. I am literally counting down the days until I can move out. I will never suggest this place to anyone.

This is the worst complec ever!!! They raise your rent but fix nothing! Childten run around in the parking lots with no supervision!!! There is hardly ever hot water! While taking a shower the water turns hot and cold every minute!! The hallways are deplorable!!! Cant smoke in the apt whete you pay rent!!! People are loud and obnoxious!!! My car was vandalized 3 times and they did nothimg!!! Dont move here unless you want to be miserable!!!!

There a constant pest issue in this community of apartments and upgrade is need desperately. Fixing the public carpet wont solve on going issues for example: constant visitors for coacroches, heaters make very loud noises during the winter keeps me up all night and I work twelve hour days sometimes six days a week, a dip in the floor in the bathroom water damage on the walls of the bathroom, ceiling, showing rust colors are brown and orange. Window frame out dated. Three years coming up and my rent is increasing, but a resident lived here for 9 years and his rent always stayed the same! Took the three months to fix a water damage under my sink in kitchen.

Save yourself the time and money. Dont even consider moving in. ROACHES EVERYWHERE! Its disgusting and uninhabitable!

My daughter rented there for many years. She did experience an issue with roaches twice while another tenant was moving out. Also, because she didnt report an issue immediately, and when she did, it wasnt properly documented when maintenance staff came to check on it, (help to fix it was promised but never happened), when she moved, she was blamed and billed for the damage. She was told that she should have reported it sooner. When she responded that she was caught up in intense caretaking work for her elderly father and didnt get around to it immediately, the staff (Janet) chose to bill her for the damages anyway.
